In this work, different microwave reaction times (0, 10, 20, and 30 min) have been evaluated to obtain an alkyl polyglucoside from Sacha inchi (Plukenetia volubilis L.) and glucose using microwaves at a power of 200 W and a temperature of 70 °C. The characterizations of the respective results were performed by Fourier Transformed Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) which allowed showing the progress of the reaction. Residual glucose quantification was achieved using the colorimetric method of spectrometry through a reaction with Antrona. The yield of the reaction was equal to 42.8%. This study constitutes an important precedent for the development of surfactants under mild reaction conditions. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
