Abstract

The article reports on the development of the Georgia Centenarian Study, to share rationale, methodologies, design pitfals and strategies in the study of centenarians. A fundamental challenge for all the studies is to understand how centenarians live longer, and to identify the specific biological, psychological and sociological characteristics to make this possible.
