This article cites a study surveying the physical and biological doses of methacholine for Mefar MB3 and Jaeger APS sidestream nebulizers in rural areas. The survey was conducted by using the same methods those were used in the European Community Respiratory Health Survey. The survey was done in the city of Hamburg, Germany, in 1991/1992 within a random sample of young adults aged 20 to 44 years. All physical measurements were performed in a specialized laboratory for aerosol medicine. The output and particle size of methacholine droplets of the Mefar MB3 and the APS Sidestream dosimeters were compared.
