In this treatise, we present a throughput assessment of a small area ad-hoc networks comprising of non-linear internet of thing (IoT) energy-harvesting device (ED) around one relay node (RN) amidst randomly located primary users (PUs) and hardware impairments. The relay is connected to an access point (AP), which is directly connected to the internet. Hardware impairment exists between EDs and the RN and between RN and AP as well. Multiple input multiple output (MIMO) link between the relay and the AP has been considered to boost throughput. Such a small area ad-hoc network comprising of EDs, RN and AP is considered to operate as an underlay network, where EDs harvest energy from various PUs and transmit data using the same frequency band used by PUs. Such an ad-hoc network is useful in small scale commercial establishment. The key contribution of this work is that we have analytically evaluated the average throughput of an ED.
