Phonon properties of AmP have been studied by using breathing shell models (BSM) which includes breathing motion of electrons of the Am atoms due to f-d hybridization. The phonon dispersion curves, specific heat calculated from present model. The calculated phonon dispersion curves of AmP are presented follow the same trend as observed in uranium phosphide. We discuss the significance of this approach in predicting the phonon dispersion curves of these compounds and examine the role of electron-phonon interaction. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

We have studied the crystal properties and phase stability of Actinide mono-nitride AnN (An=Np, Cm) under high pressure by using inter-ionic potential theory with modified ionic charge due to Coulomb screening effect. This actinide mono-nitride AnN has been found to undergo NaCl (B1) to CsCl (B2) type structural phase transition at high pressure like other binary systems. We predict such structural transformation in NpN and CmN at a pressure of 78 GPa and 51 GPa respectively. We have also discussed thermal and elastic properties of these compounds.
