The article presents acknowledgements by the editors of the book "Practising Social Work." As editors they are grateful to the contributors for their dedication while undertaking demanding professional responsibilities; for meeting their various deadlines, and for responding, without quarrel, to the editors' suggestions for changes, both large and small. The editors are grateful especially to Martin Davies, director of the social work programme, University of East Anglia, whose original suggestions, helped shape the book.
