This work aims to implement a model to simulate the dengue virus propagation, which is one of the main public health problems in Brazil. In order to do it, we adopted a multi-agent based simulation (MABS) approach. The agent model is inspired by the idea of compartments, widely used in classical models of epidemiology. The model was implemented in the GAMA platform, as well as a classical model based on ordinary differential equations. Although adopting some simplifying assumptions, comparing the output of the two models made it possible to validate our approach and to indicate that our model may serve in the future as a basis for the development of more refined models. more...
