Purpose: Arthroscopic fixation of radial head radial head fractures is an appealing alternative to open reduction and internal fixation, which presents the advantage of minimal surgical trauma. The aim of this study was to evaluate if modifications to the standard anteromedial (AM) and anterolateral (AL) portals could allow screw placement for radial head fracture osteosynthesis closer to the plane of the radial head articular surface. Methods: Eight fresh-frozen specimens were prepared to mimic arthroscopic setting. Standard AL (ALst) and AM (AMst) and distal AL (ALdi) and AM (AMdi) portals were established. Eleven independent examiners were asked to indicate the optimal trajectory, when aiming to place a cannulated screw parallel to the radial head surface for radial head osteosynthesis. A three-dimensional digital protractor was used to measure the angle between the indicated position and a Kirschner wire placed parallel to the radial head articular surface (α). The Shapiro–Wilk normality test was used to evaluate the normal distribution of the samples. Means, standard deviations, and 95% confidence intervals (95% CI) were calculated for each portal. A coefficient of variation (CoV) was calculated to determine agreement among observers and intra-observer variability. Results: Mean α angles were 25.1 ± 11.5° for AMst, 13.8 ± 4.8° for AMdi, 17.1 ± 13.4° for ALst, -2.6 ± 9.2° for ALdi. No overlapping in the 95% CI of ipsilateral standard and distal portals was observed, indicating that the difference between these means was statistically significant. The distal portals showed smaller inter-observer CoV as compared to the standard ones (AMst: 10.0%; AMdi: 4.6%; ALst: 12.5%; ALdi: 10.6%). Intra-observer CoV was similar for all portals (AMst: 5.5%; AMdi: 6.1%; ALst: 7.7%; ALdi: 7.1%). Conclusions: The use of distal AM and AL portals permits to obtain α angles closer to the radial head articular surface than standard AM and AL portals. This is expected to allow screw placement in a flatter trajectory, which should correlate with a superior biomechanical performance of fixation. Good reproducibility of Kirschner wire placement from distal portals was observer among different examiners. Modifications to the standard AM and AL elbow arthroscopy portals allow to place screws for radial head fracture osteosynthesis in a position which should guarantee superior biomechanical performance of fixation.

Purpose: Arthroscopic fixation of radial head fractures is an alternative to open reduction and internal fixation; the latter, however, presents the advantage of minimal soft-tissue damage. The exposure of the radial head for adequate screw placement can be technically challenging. The aim of this study was to evaluate the inter-observer agreement on the effective contact arc in the axial plane of the radial head of three different elbow arthroscopy portals. Methods: A fresh-frozen cadaver specimen was obtained and prepared in an arthroscopic setting. Standard anterolateral (AL), anteromedial (AM), and midlateral (ML) portals were established and a circular reference system was marked on the radial head. Ten orthopaedic surgeons were then asked to move the forearm from maximal supination to maximal pronation and indicate with a Kirschner wire from each portal the extension in which they would feel confident in placing a cannulated screw passing through the centre of the articular plane of the radial head (axial contact arc). The Shapiro–Wilk normality test was used to evaluate the normal distribution of the sample. A coefficient of variation (CoV) was calculated to determine agreement among observers. Results: The average arc of axial contact arc that could be contacted from the AM portal measured 150 ± 14.1°, or 41.7% of the radial head circumference; the one from the AL portal measured 257 ± 29.5°, or 71.4% of the radial head circumference; that from the ML portal measured 212.5 ± 32.6°, or 59.0% of the radial head circumference. Considering all three portals, the whole radial head circumference could be contacted. The AM portal showed the smallest CoV (9.4%) as compared to the AL (11.5%), and the ML (15.3%) portals. Conclusions: With an appropriate use of the standard AL, AM, and ML portals, the whole radial head circumference can be effectively exposed for adequate fixation of radial head fractures. The contact arc of the AM portal presents the smallest variability among different observers and the AL portal shows a superiority in axial contact arc. This information is important for pre-operative planning, and helps to define the limits of arthroscopic radial head fracture fixation.

Neuregulin 4 (NRG4) is an adipokine that is synthesized in many tissues and has been shown to be associated with the development of obesity and metabolic disorders in animals and humans. The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between serum NRG4 levels and various metabolic parameters in women with PCOS. This cross-sectional study included 40 women with PCOS and 40 age- and BMI-matched controls without PCOS. NRG4, fasting blood glucose (FBG), insulin, hs-CRP, LDL-C, HDL-C, SHBG, DHEA-SO4 and total-testosterone levels were measured in all the participants. HOMA-IR was used to calculate the insulin resistance. Serum NRG4 levels were higher in women with PCOS than in healthy women (24.89 ± 9.32 [ng/mL] vs. 18.98 ± 6.40 [ng/mL], p = 0.002). FBG, LDL-C, HDL-C, LH, SHBG, FAI, DHEA-SO4, insulin, hs-CRP, HOMA-IR and total-testosterone levels were significantly higher in women with PCOS than controls. Circulating NRG4 levels were positively correlated with HOMA-IR, insulin and hs-CRP for both groups. There was a positive correlation between NRG4 and FBG in the PCOS group. HOMA-IR and hs-CRP were associated with NRG4. The high concentration of circulating NRG4 in PCOS may be associated with insulin resistance and low-grade chronic inflammation.

We aimed to compare the serum autotaxin levels in early- and late- preeclamptic and healthy pregnant patients at a university hospital.A total of 55 singleton preeclamptic women who delivered at Cerrahpasa Medical Faculty were included in the study. The patients were subdivided into two groups: early-onset preeclampsia (n = 31) and late-onset preeclampsia (n = 24). Demographic and clinical data were compared between early-onset and late-onset preeclamptic patients. The control group was composed of 32 healthy pregnant patients.The mean autotaxin levels were 1.16 ± 0.97 and 0.7 ± 0.35 ng/ml in the early- and late-onset preeclampsia groups, respectively. Autotaxin levels were significantly higher in early-onset preeclampsia group compared with late-onset preeclampsia group. Autotaxin levels were found to be significantly higher in preeclamptic patients compared with control group. Serum autotaxin levels showed a significant positive correlation with maternal systolic, diastolic blood pressures and uric acid levels.Autotaxin might be a promising marker for detecting early-onset preeclampsia. However, further studies are necessary to confirm this hypothesis.

Aim: To investigate both maternal and umbilical cord adropin levels in patients with preeclampsia and the possible relations with its severity and perinatal outcomes. Materials and methods: In this study, a total of 38 preeclamptic and 40 age-matched healthy pregnant women between January and June 2016 were included. Serum and cord adropin levels were measured using an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Results: The maternal and umbilical cord adropin levels were significantly lower in the preeclamptic group compared to controls [71.19±22.21 vs. 100.76±27.02 ng/L and 92.39 (59.77:129.89) vs. 106.20 (74.42:208.02) ng/L, P Conclusion: The present study is the first to demonstrate a significant association between maternal and umbilical adropin levels and the presence and severity of preeclampsia. Adropin might be a useful parameter for predicting the presence and severity of preeclampsia.

Background Correct sizing is challenging in radial head replacement and no consensus exists on the implant’s optimal height and width to avoid elbow stiffness and instability. Studies exists, suggesting how to appropriately choose the implant size, but the manner by which the fracture pattern influences the surgeons’ operative choices was not investigated. Methods The radial heads of four fresh-frozen cadaveric specimens were excised, measured, and fractured to simulate four patterns: three fragments (A); four fragments (B); comminuted (C); comminuted with bone loss (D). Nine examiners were asked to indicate first the maximum diameter of the radial heads with the help of dedicated sizing dishes and then the appropriate implant size with trial implants. Accuracy and precision were determined. A coefficient of variation was calculated and agreement was evaluated with the Bland–Altman method. Results Accuracy and precision of radial head diameter estimation with dedicated sizing dish were 96.73% and 93.64%, (best pattern, D; worst, C). Accuracy and precision of radial head diameter estimation with trial implants were 99.71% and 90.66% (best pattern, A; worst, D). Frequent modifications occurred between the initial radial head size proposal based on the sizing dish and the radial head size chosen after use of the trial implants (47.2%). Conclusions Diameter estimation of radial heads with dedicated sizing dishes may be underestimated in comminuted fractures; when bone loss is present, this may lead to an overestimation, especially when using trial implants. Care is essential to determine the optimal size of the implant and to avoid overlenghtening and oversizing, which can be responsible for implant failure. Level of Evidence Basic Science Study. Clinical Relevance Knowledge of the manner by which the fracture pattern influences radial head replacement size estimation can help preventing overlenghtening and oversizing during this procedure.

Purpose: Knowledge of ulnar nerve position is of utmost importance to avoid iatrogenic injury in elbow arthroscopy. The aim of this study was to determine how accurate surgeons are in locating the ulnar nerve after fluid extravasation has already occurred, and basing their localization solely on palpation of anatomical landmarks. Methods: Seven cadaveric elbows were used and seven experienced surgeons in elbow arthroscopy participated. An arthroscopic setting was simulated and fluids were pumped into the joint from the posterior compartment for 15 min. For each cadaveric elbow, one surgeon was asked to locate the ulnar nerve solely by palpation of the anatomical landmarks, and subsequently pin the ulnar nerve at two positions: within 5 cm proximal and another within 5 cm distal of a line connecting the medial epicondyle and the tip of the olecranon. Subsequently, the elbows were dissected using a standard medial elbow approach and the distances between the pins and ulnar nerve were measured. Results: The median distance between the ulnar nerve and the proximal pins was 0 mm (range 0–0 mm), and between the ulnar nerve and the distal pins was 2 mm (range 0–10 mm), showing a statistically significant difference (p = 0.009). All seven proximally placed pins (100%) transfixed the ulnar nerve versus two out of seven distally placed pins (29%) (p = 0.021). Conclusions: In a setting simulating an already initiated arthroscopic procedure, the sole palpation of the anatomical landmarks allows experienced elbow surgeons to accurately locate the ulnar nerve only in its course proximal to the medial epicondyle (7/7, 100%), whereas a significantly reduced accuracy is documented when the same surgeons attempt to locate the nerve distal to the medial epicondyle (2/7, 29%; p = 0.021). Current findings support the establishment of a proximal anteromedial portal over a distal anteromedial portal to access the anterior compartment after tissue extravasation has occurred with regard to ulnar nerve safety.

Purpose: Bladder tumors are rare in children and adolescents. For this reason, the diagnosis is sometimes delayed in pediatric patients. We aimed to describe the diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up methods of bladder urothelial neoplasms in children and adolescents. Materials and Methods: We carried out a retrospective multicenter study involving patients who were treated between 2008 and 2014. Eleven patients aged younger than 18 years were enrolled in the study. In all the patients, a bladder tumor was diagnosed using ultrasonography and was treated through transurethral resection of the bladder (TURBT). Results: Nine of the 11 patients (82%) were admitted with gross hematuria. The average delay in diagnosis was 3 months (range, 0–16 months) until the ultrasonographic diagnosis was performed from the first episodes of macroscopic hematuria. A single exophytic tumor (1–4cm) was present in each patient. The pathology of all patients was reported as superficial urothelial neoplasm: two with papilloma, one with papillary urothelial neoplasm of low malignant potential (PUNLMP), four with low grade pTa, and four with low grade pT1. No recurrence was observed during regular cystoscopic and ultrasonographic follow-up. Conclusions: Regardless of the presence of hematuria, bladder tumors in children are usually not considered because urothelial carcinoma in this population is extremely rare, which causes a delay in diagnosis. Fortunately, the disease has a good prognosis and recurrences are infrequent. Cystoscopy may be unnecessary in the follow-up of children with bladder tumors. We believe that ultrasonography is sufficient in follow-up.

To evaluate the effectiveness of oxytocin infusion to reduce intraoperative bleeding during abdominal myomectomies. This randomized, parallel group, blinded study was conducted between October 2017 and May 2018. Patients undergoing abdominal myomectomies were randomized 1:1 either to the oxytocin group or to the control group (saline). In the oxytocin group, 10 IU oxytocin in 500 ml of saline at a rate of 120 ml/h was given during the course of the operation. The primary outcome of this study was to measure intraoperative blood loss between the study groups. Correlation and multiple regression analysis were performed to illustrate factors associated with intraoperative blood loss during the myomectomy. The mean intraoperative blood loss during the surgery was 489.20 ± 239.72 ml in the oxytocin group and was 641.40 ± 288.21 ml in the control group. The hemoglobin decline was more evident in the control group than in the oxytocin group. Positive correlations were also observed between the intraoperative blood loss and number of fibroids removed during the surgery, largest fibroid removed and weight of fibroids removed. The use of oxytocin infusion during the myomectomy resulted in a reduction of bleeding in the regression model. Intravenous oxytocin infusion is a safe and practical method to reduce intraoperative blood loss during the abdominal myomectomy.

Metastatic carcinoma of the uterus usually originates from other genital sites. Extragenital metastases such as breast are rare. A woman aged 34 years with a history of breast cancer was referred to the gynecology outpatient clinic for routine follow-up. Diagnostic tests and gynecologic examination revealed a uterine mass, which was removed with laparotomy. The pathologic investigation revealed metastasis of invasive lobular breast cancer. Chemotherapy was given and the patient has been under follow-up for 3 years with normal imaging on comput-erized tomographic examination and positron-emission tomography-computerized tomographic. It should be kept in mind that patients with breast cancer who have received tamoxifen may develop primary endometrial cancers, and may also demonstrate uterine metastases. With successful treatment these patients can obtain dis-ease-free survival.

In this study, was evaluated the outcomes of patients undergoing microsurgical varicocelectomy to treat scrotal pain due to recurrent varicocele were evaluated. A total of 27 patients who underwent microsurgical varicocele ligation for recurrent varicocele and scrotal and/or testicular pain were included in this retrospective study. Recurrent varicocele in all patients was diagnosed with by physical examination and coloured Doppler ultrasonography (CDUSG). All patients underwent pre-operative follow-up and post-operative follow-up at 3 and 6 months by physical examination, assessment of using the Visual Analog Scale (VAS) score, and CDUSG. The rRecurrent varicocele was grade 3 in 24 patients (88.9%) and grade 2 in 3 patients (11.1%). In all cases, the varicocele was on the left side. The mean VAS score was 6.5 (range 5-8) pre-operatively, 0.7 (range 0-5) at 3 months post-operatively, and 0.3 (range 0-4) at 6 months post-operatively (p < 0.001). Post-operative complete responseresolution, partial resolutionponse, and non-responsiveness rates were 85.2%, 11.1%, and 3.7% at the 3rd month post-operatively, respectively, and 88.8%, 7.5%, and 3.7% at the 6th month post-operatively, respectively. During follow-up, there was recurrence in 1 patient (3.7%) and hydrocele in 1 patient (3.7%). Microsurgical subinguinal varicocelectomy is an effective treatment for patients with scrotal pain caused by recurrent varicocele.

The aim of this study is to investigate the maternal levels of collectrin in early-onset preeclampsia (EOPE) and late-onset preeclampsia (LOPE). To assess the correlation between serum collectrin levels and blood pressure in humans.This cross-sectional study was conducted including 79 pregnant women, 27 with normal pregnancy, 30 with EOPE and 22 with LOPE. Maternal serum levels of collectrin were measured by using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay kits.The mean serum collectrin level was significantly lower in women with PE compared with the control group (8.49 ± 3.12 ng/ml (EOPE), 9.69 ± 3.01 ng/ml (LOPE) versus 11.51 ± 4.33 ng/ml) and was found to be the lowest in the EOPE group (8.49 ± 3.12 ng/ml). The mean serum urea and uric acid levels were significantly higher in the PE group than the control group. Serum collectrin concentrations did not correlate with maternal age, BMI and serum creatinine levels. However, collectrin concentrations were negatively correlated with systolic blood pressure (r = -0.284, p = .011) and diastolic blood pressure (r = -0.275, p = .014) as well as with maternal serum urea (r = -0.269, p = .017) and uric acid (r = -0.219, p = .049) concentrations.Maternal serum collectrin levels are significantly lower in patients with preeclampsia than in the control group. There is an inverse correlation between serum collectrin levels and blood pressure.

This study was conducted to compare serum xenopsin-related peptide-1 (XP-1) levels in women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and in healthy women and to determine the role of XP-1 levels in PCOS. Forty patients with PCOS and 38 healthy women were included in the study and matched with age and body mass index. Fasting blood glucose, insulin, high sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP), XP-1 and total testosterone levels of all participants were measured. Serum XP-1 levels significantly increased in women with PCOS compared to the control group (6.49 ± 1.57 vs 5.29 ± 1.45 ng/ml, p = 0.001). Serum insulin, hs-CRP, HOMA-IR, total testosterone levels and waist circumference were higher in women with PCOS than in control group. High XP-1 levels were associated with PCOS after adjustment for potential confounders. Background: Double-J stents are widely used in urology practice, and removal of these stents can sometimes be forgotten. Aims: To investigate whether indwelling time of double-J stent can predict which treatment modality is required for removal of the stent from the body. Study Design: A multicentre, retrospective observational study. Methods: The data of 57 patients who were treated for forgotten ureteral stents between January 2007 and December 2014 were evaluated retrospectively. Patients were classified into four groups according to indwelling time of the stents: 6-12 months, 13-24 months, 25-36 months, and >36 months. Encrustation and associated stone burden of the stents were evaluated with non-contrast stone protocol computerised tomography. Results: Patients were classified according to their duration of the stent indwelling time. Simple cystoscopic stent retrieval was performed in 71.4% of patients in the 6-12 months group, 44% of patients in the 13-24 months group, 6.2% of patients in the 25-36 months group, and 11.1% of patients in the >36 months group. A percutaneous or open surgery was required in no patients with an indwelling time of double-J stent shorter than 30 months. Conclusion: Transurethral and/or percutaneous combined endo-urological approaches are usually sufficient for the removal of forgotten double-J stents. Transurethral procedures are sufficient for the treatment of patients with double-J stent indwelling times less than 30 months.

Objectives: In this study we aim to evaluate antenatal, perinatal and postnatal outcomes and complications of adolescent pregnancies, as well as to discuss the social and psychological consequences of these pregnancies. Material and methods: We compare a total of 243 pregnant women at age 14–18 years to a vast control group at age 19–36 who all delivered at Bursa Yuksek Ihtisas Training and Research Hospital between years 2005–2014. Results: Antenatal care (folic acid supplementation, pre-conception counseling) was significantly higher in adolescent pregnancy group. Unplanned pregnancy rate was significantly higher in in study group (p < 0.001). Preterm delivery (before 37th week) ratio was statistically higher in pregnancy complications. Conclusions: Adolescent pregnancy is a social entity which should be regulated and prevented by legal measures. Planned pregnancies should be promoted and the public should be educated and informed about the Hazards of adolescent pregnancies. Press institutions, public broadcasting services support the efforts to decrease adolescent pregnancies.

Purpose Hypospadias repair is rarely performed in adults. It is believed that the success rate is lower in adulthood. We aimed to compare the success rate of primary hypospadias repair with tubularized-incised plate (TIP) urethroplasty in adults and children. Patients and methods The databases of consecutive boys and adults who were treated with TIP urethroplasty for primary hypospadias between 2012 and 2015 were evaluated. All operations in the boys and adult patients were performed by a single surgeon. We considered urethroplasty complications to include a urethrocutaneous fistula, neourethral stricture, meatal stenosis, diverticulum, and glans dehiscence. Urine flow was also evaluated using uroflowmetry. Results Seventy-seven consecutive patients underwent surgery by a single surgeon in the last 3 years for hypospadias repair. Nineteen of these patients were adults. Urethrocutaneous fistulae developed in 2 of the 19 (10.5 %) adults, and 3 of the 58 (5.2 %) boys. In addition, there were urinary tract infections in 2 (3.4 %) children, meatal stenosis in 1 (1.7 %) child, and glans dehiscence in 1 (5.3 %) adult. Uroflowmetry was normal in all patients. There was no difference in outcomes between boys and adults. Conclusion Our data showed that the success rate of hypospadias repair with TIP urethroplasty is similar in adults and children. TIP urethroplasty is associated with good results in adults and boys.

We report a case of uterine dehiscence during pregnancy. Uterine dehiscence and rupture are serious complications of pregnancy. This situation takes place especially in women that prior uterine operation(s). We represent a 30-year-old woman diagnosed uterine dehiscence at 22nd gestation week. Uterine dehiscence treated surgically and then medical treatment was given to prevent preterm labour. At 34th gestation week, the patient was operated because of preterm labour and an alive foetus was born. The result of the pathologic examination of the placenta: Placental adhesion failure was detected. In conclusion women with prior caesarean delivery (one or more), ultrasound measurement should be recommended for measuring the lower uterine segment thickness in order to predict the possibility of uterine dehiscence and rupture.

While various hemostatic agents are used to control bleeding, the histopathological characteristics of these hemostatic agents have not been investigated adequately. We aimed to investigate and compare the histopathological and hemostatic effects of local hemostatic agents in a partial nephrectomy rat model. Methods Thirty-two rats were divided into four equal groups, and partial nephrectomy was done to all rats. Conventional suture repair, Glubran2 (R), FloSeal (R), and Celox (TM) were applied to every single group. The period of warm ischemia and hemostasis during surgical process was timed. Rats were killed later 3 weeks, and their partial nephrectomy applied kidneys were evaluated histopathologically. Results The fastest hemostasis was provided with Glubran2 (R) (32.87 s). FloSeal (R) was the second (40.85 s), and Celox (TM) was the third (55.75 s). Glomerular necrosis and calcification were seen more in the suture group than other groups (p < 0.001). Fibrosis was found significantly less in Celox (TM) group. Fibroblast activation was found significantly less comparing to other groups (p < 0.01). The erythrocyte aggregation was significantly greater in the Glubran2 (R) and FloSeal (R) groups than suture group (p < 0.01 and p < 0.001). Conclusion The negative effects of hemostatic agents to the renal histopathology were less than conventional suture repair. Celox (TM) was the best biocompatible agent. In comparison with three agents, it was observed that Glubran2 (R) provided hemostasis faster than other agents.

Objectives: Brucellosis is a multi-system infectious disease that is associated with inflammation, which causes an increase in acute phase reactants. Hematological inflammatory markers of brucellosis include mean platelet volume (MPV), red cell distribution width (RDW), neutrophil/lymphocyte ratio (NLR), and platelet/lymphocyte ratio (PLR). In this study, we aimed to evaluate the diagnostic value of hematological inflammatory markers in Brucella epididymo-orchitis (BEO), and to investigate the utility of these markers for differential diagnosis from non-Brucella epididymo-orchitis (non-BEO). Materials and Methods: We retrospectively reviewed the records of 22 BEO and 50 non-BEO patients. Hematological parameters were recorded and compared between the two groups. The main diagnostic criteria for BEO were positive clinical findings (i.e., testicular pain, tenderness and scrotal swelling), a positive Rose Bengal test result, standard tube agglutination (STA) titer ≥ 1/160, and/or a positive blood culture. Results: The most decisive factors in discriminating between BEO and non-BEO were NLR, RDW, and MPV, in decreasing order of their strength. Regardless of other factors, NLR values < 2.3 significantly increased the odds of BEO (OR=8.080, 95% CI: 1.929-33.843, p=0.004). After adjusting for other factors, RDW values >14.45% significantly increased the odds of BEO (OR=7.020, 95% CI: 1.749-28.176, p=0.006). Independent of the other factors, patients with MPV < 7.65 fL had a 6.336 times higher risk for BEO (95% CI: 1.393 - 28.822, p=0.017). Conclusion: Hematological inflammatory markers such as NLR, RDW, and MPV can aid in the differential diagnosis of BEO and non-BEO.

Objectives: The aim of this prospective study is to evaluate the impact of the simulation training programin learning duration of arthroscopic motor skills. Furthermore, we investigated the difference betweenjunior and experienced residents in the improvement of arthroscopic motor skills duration.Methods: We established 2 study groups according to participants' year of experience in orthopedicresidency with junior group residents with three years or less than three years experience as group 1 andexperienced group with over 3 years of experience as group 2. We calculated duration change of motorskill test results for each participant before and after the course. The tools used were; auto scoring mirrortracer(ASMT), 0'Conner the tweezer dexterity test(OCTDT), etch-a-sketch with overlay(ESOT), purdue thepegboard test(PPT), two-arm coordination test(TACT) and grooved pegboard test(GPT) which were allproduced by LafayetteŞrm. These instruments were used to practice and measure the basic motor skills.Results: All postecourse test durations for participants decreased signiŞcantly when compared to precourse. We calculated percentage change of motor skill test results for each participant before and after the course. All motor skill test percentage changes were similar between two groups. In comparisonof participants according to their experiences, results revealed that there was no difference in test resultsof experienced and junior surgeons. Both groups had provided equal improvement in terms of motorskills.Conlusion: As our results revealed, residents will be able to act with a strong motivation to learn applications through basic arthroscopic information gained in early period of orthopedic training and willmake more successful applications of real patients.© 2017 Turkish Association of Orthopaedics and Traumatology.
