Objective Periviable premature rupture of membranes (PROM) counseling should describe maternal and neonatal outcomes associated with both immediate delivery and expectant management. Unfortunately, most published data focuses on neonatal outcomes and maternal risk estimates vary widely. We performed a meta-analysis to describe outcomes associated with expectant management compared with immediate delivery of periviable PROM. Study Design We performed a search on PubMed, MEDLINE, Web of Science, PROSPERO, Cochrane library, and ClinicalTrials.gov utilizing a combination of key terms. Published clinical trials and observational cohorts were included if published after 2000. Publications were selected if they included maternal and/or neonatal outcomes for both expectant management and immediate delivery. Gestational age range was limited from 14 to 25 weeks. The primary outcome was maternal sepsis. Secondary outcomes included chorioamnionitis, hemorrhage, laparotomy, and neonatal survival. Pooled risk differences (RDs) were calculated for each outcome using a random-effects model. Publication bias was assessed using funnel plots and Harbord test. Results A total of 2,550 studies were screened. After removal of duplicates and filtering by abstract, 44 manuscripts were reviewed. A total of five publications met inclusion for analysis: four retrospective and one prospective. Overall, 364 (68.0%) women underwent expectant management and 171 (32.0%) underwent immediate delivery. Maternal sepsis was significantly more frequent in the expectant group (RD, 4%; 95% confidence interval, 2–7%) as was chorioamnionitis (RD: 30%; p < 0.01) and any laparotomy (RD: 28%; p < 0.01). Neonatal survival in the expectant group was 39% compared with 0% in the immediate group (p < 0.01). Conclusion Women who undergo expectant management following periviable rupture of membranes experience significantly increased risks of sepsis, chorioamnionitis, and laparotomy. Overall, 39% of neonates survive to discharge. Knowledge of these risks is critical to counseling patients with this diagnosis. This article introduces the importance of qualitative closure during supervision for counselors-in-training completing practicum or internship experiences. The authors address what is currently in the literature around termination for counseling students in supervision and how a tool called the reflective roadmap can provide a powerful synthesis process for learning. The authors introduce the reflective roadmap technique and provide examples of how it can be used throughout supervision. Open in new tab Download slide OBJECTIVES Clinical trials that are terminated prematurely may generate incomplete and potentially biased data and the reasons for premature trials termination are poorly understood. Our objective was to describe the incidence of premature trial termination and identify factors associated with it. METHODS We performed a systematic search on ClinicalTrials.gov to identify all cardiac surgery trials from 1991 to 2023. Trials that were terminated prematurely were identified. Factors independently associated with premature termination were identified using multivariable logistic regression analysis. RESULTS A total of 746 clinical trials were included; of them 577 were completed and 169 (22.6%) were terminated prematurely. Most of the trials originated from North America [294 (39.4%)], Europe [264 (35.4%)] or Asia [141 (18.9%)]. Fourteen of the trials terminated prematurely (8.3%) were phase 1, 75 (44.4%) phase 2, 49 (29.0%) phase 3 and 31 (18.3%) phase 4. Fifty (29.6%) trials were terminated because of slow recruitment, 20 (11.8%) because of sponsor decision and 12 (7.1%) because of lack of funding. Left ventricular assist device trials [odds ratio (OR) 3.65, 95% confidence interval (CI) (1.65–8.00) P  = 0.001], valve surgery trials [OR 4.30, 95% CI (2.33–8.00) P  < 0.001], aortic surgery trials [OR 2.86 95% CI (1.22–6.43) P  = 0.012], phase 2 [OR 3.02, 95% CI (1.31–7.93) P  = 0.015] and phase 4 trials [OR 3.62, 95% CI (1.43–10.23) P  = 0.010] were at higher risk of premature termination while trials performed in Asia [OR 0.18, 95% CI (0.07–0.39) P  ≤ 0.001] and Europe [OR 0.49, 95% CI (0.30–0.80) P  = 0.004] were less likely to be terminated prematurely. CONCLUSIONS Slow recruitment is the most common reason for premature termination of cardiac surgery trials. Trials on left ventricular assist device, valve surgery, aortic surgery, phase 2 trials and phase 4 trials are more likely to be terminated, while trials conducted in Asia and Europe are less likely to be terminated prematurely. International organisations have become increasingly contested resulting in worries about their decline and termination. While international organisation termination is indeed a regular event in international relations, this article shows that other institutions carry the legacy of terminated international organisations. We develop the novel concept of international organisation afterlife and suggest indicators to systematically assess it. Our analysis of 26 major terminated international organisations reveals legal-institutional and asset continuity in 21 cases. To further illustrate this point, the article zooms in on the afterlife of the International Institute of Agriculture in the Food and Agriculture Organization, the International Refugee Organization in the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, and the Western European Union in the European Union. In these three cases, international organisation afterlife inspired and structured the design of their successor institutions. The authors analyse the opinions expressed by the Decision No 30/2023 of the High Court of Cassation and Justice -- Full Bench for the resolution of questions of law. The Supreme Court admitted the related referrals made by the Court of Gorj -- Civil Division I and ordered that, in interpreting and applying the provisions of Article 906 (4) of the Civil Procedure Code, in so far as the debtor has performed the obligation to do or not to do, which cannot be performed by another person, even during the resolution of the claim based on the provisions of Article 906 (4) of the Civil Procedure Code, the creditor can no longer obtain the final determination of the amount by way of penalty. The authors consider that the second opinion is correct, i.e. the one that interpreted the provisions of Article 906 (4) Civil Procedure Code as establishing a time limit of 3 months for the execution of the obligation, while the final amount may be determined to the extent that this time limit has been exceeded, regardless of whether by the time of the court's ruling the obligations have been executed. BACKGROUND: Atrial fibrillation (AF) and ventricular fibrillation (VF) episodes exhibit varying durations, with some spontaneously ending quickly while others persist. A quantitative framework to explain episode durations remains elusive. We hypothesized that observable self-terminating AF and VF episode lengths, whereby durations are known, would conform with a power law based on the ratio of system size and correlation length (L/ξ). METHODS: Using data from computer simulations (2-dimensional sheet and 3-dimensional left-atrial), human ischemic VF recordings (256-electrode sock, n=12 patients), and human AF recordings (64-electrode basket-catheter, n=9 patients; 16-electrode high definition-grid catheter, n=42 patients), conformance with a power law was assessed using the Akaike information criterion, Bayesian information criterion, coefficient of determination (R², significance=P<0.05) and maximum likelihood estimation. We analyzed fibrillatory episode durations and L/ξ, computed by taking the ratio between system size (L, chamber/simulation size) and correlation length (xi, estimated from pairwise correlation coefficients over electrode/node distance). RESULTS: In all computer models, the relationship between episode durations and L/ξ was conformant with a power law (Aliev-Panfilov R²: 0.90, P<0.001; Courtemanche R²: 0.91, P<0.001; Luo-Rudy R²: 0.61, P<0.001). Observable clinical AF/ VF durations were also conformant with a power law relationship (VF R²: 0.86, P<0.001; AF basket R²: 0.91, P<0.001; AF grid R²: 0.92, P<0.001). L/ξ also differentiated between self-terminating and sustained episodes of AF and VF (P<0.001; all systems), as well as paroxysmal versus persistent AF (P<0.001). In comparison, other electrogram metrics showed no statistically significant differences (dominant frequency, Shannon Entropy, mean voltage, peak-peak voltage; P>0.05). If the right of cancellation, as a right that can be transferred through inheritance, belongs to several heirs and there is a disagreement between them regarding the use of this right, we will face this problem: how will the multiple heirs claim their rights? This problem has generally faced four main views in the course of its evolution. It has been assumed by some of the jurists as an independent all-inclusive right for those entitled to the right. A group of jurists have drawn the right so that every one of the heirs can be the owner of his own share and can use it based on his/her share. Another group has considered a fixed share for all entitled to the right, while others have considered a fixed share for the mere existence of the heir. This article, while criticizing the proposed theories and stating the problems and criticisms of them, emphasizes the theory of separation between the general title of the right of cancellation and its example. Background: Electrogram dispersion identifies putative atrial fibrillation (AF) drivers in first time ablation procedures, with high acute termination rates and long-term outcomes akin to extensive ablation approaches. Its use in a population that had undergone repeat ablation is unknown, particularly where the pulmonary veins are already isolated. Objective: This purpose of this study was to assess electrogram dispersion mapping during repeat ablation procedures for persistent AF. Methods: One hundred sixty-seven patients from the United Kingdom and Denmark, all with persistent AF recurrence after prior ablation procedure(s), were mapped using a five splined catheter for electrogram dispersion before ablation. Areas were manually tagged on biatrial electroanatomic maps and ablated once pulmonary vein isolation was confirmed or reisolated if required. All patients had 12-month continuous monitoring, with most of the cohort having follow-up beyond 24 months. Results: Of the 167 patients [53 (32%) female; mean age 66 ± 8 years; mean left atrial (LA) diameter 4.8 cm; mean ejection fraction 53%], 108 had pulmonary veins already isolated. Dispersion sites occurred in both atria (3.2 LA, 1.4 right atrium). Acute termination to sinus rhythm occurred in 71 (42%) of the cohort patients, with a further 73 (44%) terminating to atrial tachycardia/flutter. At 12-month follow-up, 95% of patients were free of AF, with 74% overall freedom from all atrial arrhythmias. Heart failure and severely enlarged LA predicted recurrence, and termination to sinus improved freedom from all atrial arrhythmias. Conclusion: Dispersion mapping is a promising approach at repeat ablation procedures for persistent AF, with high acute termination rates and good clinical outcomes. Further prospective randomized trials are needed to evaluate this approach in a population that had undergone repeat ablation.

This study aims to investigate the stresses of the initiator during the termination of their romantic relationship among Bisexual individuals. This study uses phenomenological research design that utilizes phenomenological analysis, the purpose of this research is to understand further the experiences of being an initiator of the breakup inside the bisexual community. This study's participants are 15 bisexual individuals who have initiated the break up with their previous relationship and reside within District Five (5) of Bulacan (Balagtas, Bocaue, Guiguinto, and Pandi). The researchers also acquired a semi-structured interview guide that included questions pertaining to their participants' experiences, challenges, and coping strategies of bisexual initiators of the breakup. The findings of this study revealed that bisexual initiators of the breakup experience anger, grief, depressive symptoms, and experience trying to fix the relationship. Aside from that, this study also reveals that bisexual initiators can feel regret, experience confusion about their gender, experience challenges within their previous relationship, and have bad good coping mechanisms, as well as finding a reason to reconnect with intrapersonal relationships. Advances in fetal cardiac imaging over the last few decades have allowed for increased prenatal detection and detailed counseling of congenital heart disease (CHD). When CHD is detected, fetal cardiologists are faced with the challenge of providing nuanced prenatal counseling. Studies in other specialties have shown that differences in physician attitudes exist around termination of pregnancy and correlate with variations in the counseling provided to parents. We conducted an anonymous cross-sectional survey of fetal cardiologists in New England (n = 36) regarding attitudes toward termination of pregnancy and the counseling provided to parents with a fetal diagnosis of hypoplastic left heart syndrome. Using a screening questionnaire, there was no significant difference in the counseling provided to parents regardless of the physician's personal or professional views on termination of pregnancy, age, gender, location, type of practice, or years of experience. There were, however, differences among physicians on reasons to consider termination and their perceived professional responsibility to the fetus or mother. Further investigation on a larger geographic scale may reveal additional insights on variations in physician beliefs and whether such beliefs affect variability in counseling practices. The problematic issues related to the legislator’s priority task of regulating changes in the property status of a legal entity in the course of its reorganisation are outlined, which ensures the organisational and legal transformation of the organisation through effective redistribution of resources and enhancing the modernisation of the country’s economic stability as a whole. The current state of the legal doctrine of understanding reorganisation as a legal phenomenon has no common denominator. It is studied as a method of termination of a legal entity; a method of emergence and/or termination of a legal entity(ies); a special procedure for the transfer of rights and obligations; a type of universal succession; a legal remedy; the procedural aspect of reorganisation actions is studied, pointing to the process, composition or set of legal facts, or it is proposed to abandon attempts to define the category of “reorganisation” altogether. Based on the analysis of the legal doctrine and current legislation, the conclusion that reorganisation is a special mechanism of transformation of a legal entity, which is manifested in a complex legal structure aimed at achieving a positive economic effect or bringing it into compliance with current legislation, resulting in termination and/or establishment of a new legal entity(ies) with the transfer to it of the property (or part thereof) of the legal entity being reorganised by way of legal succession, has been made. The opinion that an unambiguous statement that reorganisation is a form of either creation or termination of a legal entity is erroneous has been presented. This conclusion is based on the fact that current legislation enshrines different denominators for certain types of reorganisation – termination/establishment, but the relevant legal phenomenon should be studied comprehensively (as a whole). In this case, one section of such a legal structure will indicate the creation and the other one will indicate the termination of a legal entity, which is manifested within the reorganisation procedure of one organisation.

This paper discusses the intricacies of diplomatic privileges and immunities as outlined in the Vienna Convention. It highlights the distinction between privileges granted to representatives of states versus those of international organizations. The classification of diplomatic staff into four categories is explained, emphasizing the inviolability and immunity of diplomatic agents. Changes in definitions and practices since 1958 are explored, along with the importance of proper notification and certification of diplomatic status. The roles of heads of missions, particularly the doyen of the diplomatic corps, are outlined, as well as the significance of acceptance or rejection of diplomatic representatives by receiving states. The article concludes with insights into the termination of diplomatic missions and the authority of states to impose conditions on diplomatic privileges and immunities.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of replacing soybean meal with cottonseed cake in the diet offered to Santa Inês sheep on their performance, carcass yield and economic viability. Thirty-two uncastrated male sheep (27.48 ± 4.96 kg and 12 months old) were distributed in a completely randomized design, with 4 treatments (replacement of 0, 14, 28 and 42% of soybean meal with cottonseed cake in dry matter basis) and 8 replications. The inclusion levels of cottonseed cake in their diet provided a reduction in performance, thoracic perimeter, body capacity (measured in vivo), slaughter body weight, hot and cold carcass weights, external length, rump perimeter, thoracic perimeter, carcass compactness index, and leg compactness index (p < 0.05). The weights of the left half carcass, shoulder, neck, loin, and leg were reduced with increasing levels of cottonseed cake in their diet (p < 0.05). The quadratic effect was observed for the rib weight and the yield (p < 0.05). Diets with cottonseed cake had lower total feed costs/animal, revenue, gross margin, and leveling price, and had a higher benefit/cost. Under experimental conditions, despite reducing the feed costs and presenting an improvement in the cost ratio benefit, the use of levels up to 42% of cottonseed cake in sheep diets is not recommended, as it negatively affects the animal performance, carcass weights, and commercial cuts.

Late Pleistocene glacial terminations are caused by rising atmospheric CO2 occurring in response to atmospheric and ocean circulation changes induced by increased discharge from Northern Hemisphere ice sheets. While climate records place glacial terminations coincident with decreasing orbital precession, it remains unclear why a specific precession minimum causes a termination. We compare the orbital and ice volume configuration at each precession minima over the last million years to demonstrate that eccentricity, through its control on precession amplitude, period and coherence with obliquity, along with ice sheet size, determine whether a given precession minimum will cause a termination. We also demonstrate how eccentricity controls obliquity maxima and precession minima coherence, varying the duration of glaciations. Glaciations lasting ∼100 thousand years are controlled by Earth's eccentricity cycle of the same period, while the shortest (20–40 ka) and longest (155 ka) occupy the maxima and minimums of the 400 thousand year eccentricity cycle. Plain Language Summary: The Milankovitch theory of the ice ages predicts that the growth and collapse of Pleistocene ice sheets is paced by the cycles in high latitude solar insolation that accompany variations in Earth's orbital motion. The orbital modes that dominate frequencies of incoming solar radiation are obliquity and precession, which operate at periodicities of approximately 40 and 20 thousand years, respectively. The dominant frequency at which ice sheets grow and collapse over the last million years is, however, approximately 100 thousand years, a closer match to eccentricity, an orbital period near absent from past solar radiation. Through a comparison between Earth's orbital configuration and an approximation of past global ice volume, we identify that the precession minima that trigger ice sheet collapse occur at distinct configuration of eccentricity and ice sheet size. In most cases terminations occur when precession minima align with obliquity maxima. We find that this coherence is influenced by the duration of precession cycles, which is in turn controlled by eccentricity. From these observations, we conclude that orbital eccentricity, through its control on both the amplitude and period of precession, paces the timing of glacial terminations and the size of Late Pleistocene ice sheets. Background: In this systematic review and meta‐analysis, we aimed to validate the predictive role of atrial fibrillation (AF) termination in long‐term arrhythmia recurrence. Method: Our search encompassed databases including MEDLINE, EMBASE, PubMed, and the Cochrane Library up to August 1, 2021. Three independent reviewers conducted screening and data extraction. The data included ablation strategy, recurrence mode, AF termination mode, numbers of patients, and recurrence cases in the termination and nontermination groups. The primary endpoint was the recurrence of atrial arrhythmia at long‐term follow‐up (≥ 12 months). Results: Our analysis included 22 publications, with 11 prospective studies being eligible for further meta‐analysis. Among these, 14 studies reported significantly lower rates of arrhythmia recurrence in the AF termination group compared to the nontermination group. Among seven studies involving 1114 patients that examined single procedure outcomes, the pooled estimated effect was RR 0.78 (95% CI 0.68–1.90) with an I2 value of 57%. Subgroup analysis focusing on termination mode as sinus rhythm yielded a pooled estimated effect of RR 0.74 (95% CI 0.59–0.92) with an I2 value of 47%. Additionally, analysis of seven studies involving 1433 patients for repeat procedures demonstrated a significant preference for the AF termination group (RR 0.83, 95% CI 0.71–0.97, I2 = 84%). Subgroup analysis indicated reduced heterogeneity when the termination mode was sinus rhythm (RR 0.68, 95% CI 0.51–0.90, I2 = 57%). Conclusion: Our study establishes that AF termination serves as an effective predictor for the success of persistent AF ablation procedures. Background: Evidence suggests that the quality of the therapeutic relationship impacts the outcome of therapy, with the ending phase having the potential to elicit painful and difficult emotions. There is limited research on this phase of the therapeutic relationship. Aims: The study aimed to explore the lived experiences of counsellors when ending with clients in short‐term planned settings those relationships in which they have worked at relational depth. Method: Interpretative phenomenological analysis was used to evaluate the counsellors' lived experiences of ending therapeutic relationships. Online semi‐structured interviews took place with six trainee and qualified counsellors who volunteered as counsellors for a local charity. Findings: Three main themes were identified during the study—impact of ending, impact of short‐term work and professional issues. Findings indicated that working at relational depth in short‐term counselling could elicit unprocessed powerful emotions within the ending phase of therapy. Limitations: A small sample size limits the wider application of these findings. Implications: Further guidance and support are needed for trainee and qualified practitioners in the management and experience of ending counselling relationships within short‐term work, including the exploration of counsellors' self‐disclosure. Implications for practice include the need for supervisors and counsellors to be proactive in managing reflective practice within supervision, supervisors recognising and challenging supervisees' non‐disclosure and counsellors looking at further ways for self‐reflection on endings in counselling relationships. The aim of this paper is to discuss the clinical rationale for designing a tailor-made board game as a therapeutic intervention in play therapy. Games are practiced in play therapy in directive and non-directive ways. Structured and directive approaches are used in individual and group therapy, and enable therapists to identify themes and work them through. A review of the literature concerning the use of games in psychotherapy is suggested in this paper, followed by a detailed rationale for a tailor-made rule-governed board game as a directive theme-focused intervention for short-term group psychotherapy. Such a board game, designed for processing termination in a group of severely deprived adolescent boys in their final year of long-term psychodynamic residential treatment is described. Therapeutic considerations for designing specific elements of the game are described in detail, as well as the symbolic language that served as a framework. Based on a description of clinical thinking used in the preparation of this board game, a discussion of the particular characteristics of designing tailor-made board games as a directive intervention in play therapy is suggested. The paper explains the need for a particular design of game for each specific therapeutic group, based on the identified needs of the participants, as well as on the aim of the intervention. Because current conceptualizations are insufficient with respect to explaining the termination subprocess of nascent entrepreneurship, little is known regarding the liminal space in which the decision between termination and persistence is made. To solve this problem, we apply the Theory of Action Phases, extend it using the notion of an action crisis, and propose that (i) the extent to which nascent entrepreneurs experience action crises informs the decision between persistence and termination and (ii) the odds of experiencing an action crisis and the temporal length of an action crisis phase depend largely on the goal-directed actions that have previously been taken. We test and find empirical support for our main hypotheses by reference to a harmonized dataset drawn from the panel study of entrepreneurial dynamics (PSED). These findings contribute to both theoretical and practical advancements in the field of nascent entrepreneurship and research on entrepreneurial action. With respect to research, the inclusion of the notion of action crisis allows us to conceptualize termination as a subprocess of nascent entrepreneurship and to explain decisions between termination and persistence in the context of new venture creation. By taking the time-saving and time-delaying effects of actions into consideration, our study also offers a more nuanced view of entrepreneurial action given that the length of an action crisis is informed by the actions of planning and implementation that have previously been taken. In practical terms, we address some lasting problems that arise in the context of entrepreneurship-focused public policies and provide practical advice for nascent entrepreneurs. Objective The aim of this study was to quantify the likelihood of assessing all mandated fetal views during the second-trimester anatomy ultrasound prior to the proposed federal 20-week abortion ban. Study Design Retrospective cohort study of a random sample of 1,983 patients undergoing anatomy ultrasound in 2017 at a tertiary referral center. The difference in proportion of incomplete anatomic surveys prior compared with after 20-week gestation was analyzed using X2 and adjusted logistic regression; difference in mean days elapsed from anomaly diagnosis to termination tested using t -tests and survival analysis. Results Incomplete views were more likely with initial ultrasound before 20 weeks (adjusted relative risk: 1.70; 95% confidence interval: 1.50–1.94); 43.5% versus 26.1% were incomplete before and after 20 weeks, respectively. Fetal structural anomalies were identified in 6.4% (n = 127/1,983) scans, with 38.0% (n = 49) identified at follow-up after initial scan was incomplete. 22.8% (n = 29) with an anomaly terminated. Conclusion A complete assessment of fetal views during an anatomy ultrasound prior to 20-week gestation is often not technically feasible. Legislation limiting abortion to this gestational age would greatly impact patient's ability to make informed choices about their pregnancies. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of replacing soybean meal with cottonseed cake in the diet offered to Santa Inês sheep on their performance, carcass yield and economic viability. Thirty-two uncastrated male sheep (27.48 ± 4.96 kg and 12 months old) were distributed in a completely randomized design, with 4 treatments (replacement of 0, 14, 28 and 42% of soybean meal with cottonseed cake in dry matter basis) and 8 replications. The inclusion levels of cottonseed cake in their diet provided a reduction in performance, thoracic perimeter, body capacity (measured in vivo), slaughter body weight, hot and cold carcass weights, external length, rump perimeter, thoracic perimeter, carcass compactness index, and leg compactness index (p < 0.05). The weights of the left half carcass, shoulder, neck, loin, and leg were reduced with increasing levels of cottonseed cake in their diet (p < 0.05). The quadratic effect was observed for the rib weight and the yield (p < 0.05). Diets with cottonseed cake had lower total feed costs/animal, revenue, gross margin, and leveling price, and had a higher benefit/cost. Under experimental conditions, despite reducing the feed costs and presenting an improvement in the cost ratio benefit, the use of levels up to 42% of cottonseed cake in sheep diets is not recommended, as it negatively affects the animal performance, carcass weights, and commercial cuts. We propose a relaxation to the definition of well-structured transition systems (WSTS) while retaining the decidability of boundedness and non-termination. In this class, the well-quasi-ordered (wqo) condition is relaxed such that it is applicable only between states that are reachable one from another. Furthermore, the monotony condition is relaxed in the same way. While this retains the decidability of non-termination and boundedness, it appears that the coverability problem is undecidable. To this end, we define a new notion of monotony, called cover-monotony, which is strictly more general than the usual monotony and still allows us to decide a restricted form of the coverability problem. Abstract Background In many countries, abortions at 20 weeks and over for indications other than fetal or maternal medicine are difficult to access due to legal restrictions and limited availability of services. The Abortion and Contraception Service at the Royal Women’s Hospital in Victoria, Australia is the only service in the state that provides this service. The views and experiences of these abortion providers can give insight into the experiences of staff and women and the abortion system accessibility. The aim of this study was to examine health providers’ perceptions and experiences of providing abortion care at 20 weeks and over for indications other than fetal or maternal medicine, as well as enablers and barriers to this care and how quality of care could be improved in one hospital in Victoria, Australia. Methods A qualitative study was conducted at the Abortion and Contraception Service at the Royal Women’s Hospital. Participants were recruited by convenience and purposive sampling. Semi-structured interviews were conducted one-on-one with participants either online or in-person. A reflexive thematic analysis was performed. Results In total, 17 healthcare providers from medicine, nursing, midwifery, social work and Aboriginal clinical health backgrounds participated in the study. Ultimately, three themes were identified: ‘Being committed to quality care: taking a holistic approach’, ‘Surmounting challenges: being an abortion provider is difficult’, and ‘Meeting external roadblocks: deficiencies in the wider healthcare system’. Participants felt well-supported by their team to provide person-centred and holistic care, while facing the emotional and ethical challenges of their role. The limited abortion workforce capacity in the wider healthcare system was perceived to compromise equitable access to care. Conclusions Providers of abortion at 20 weeks and over for non-medicalised indications encounter systemic enablers and barriers to delivering care at personal, service delivery and healthcare levels. There is an urgent need for supportive policies and frameworks to strengthen and support the abortion provider workforce and expand provision of affordable, acceptable and accessible abortions at 20 weeks and over in Victoria and in Australia more broadly.

This paper aims to reveal the nature, specifics and limits of application of one of the legal grounds for termination of employment relationships established in the labour law of the Republic of Lithu ania – termination of the employment contract at the employer’s will. The analysis tests the hypothesis that the goal of increasing flexibility by simplifying the termination of employment relations, which was set at the initiation of the reform of the legal regulation, was not achieved. The presumption is put forward that this ground for terminating the employment contract is neither new nor safely applicable, and the benefits of relatively simplified procedural requirements do not outweigh increased financial burden. To reveal the impact of statutory amendments in question on the regulation of termination of employment relations in Lithuania, the historical background and the impact of obligations established in international documents on it are assessed, key indicators (such as legal grounds, procedural requirements, burden of proof and order of its distribution, etc.) are identified, and the relevant case law is examined.

This article focuses on the prevailing aspiration to reach a "good-enough ending" in analysis, a concept that is partly realistic and partly illusional. I discuss some of the obstacles that interfere with achieving this yearned for goal, and lead to endings that are far from the misleading illusion of the good-enough termination, that many of us believe we have achieved and are many more than it is commonly reported. I describe characteristics, obstacles, blockages, dreads within the analysand, within the analyst and in the space in between, which lead to endings which are far from good enough, by any criteria we might choose. These obstacles include the failure to distinguish between "real" versus "similar to"; emotional excess; emptying out of internal resources and toxemia of therapy/analysis; a fascination with certain levels of mind versus a neglect of others; osmotic pressure for oneness and the terror of perfection; and malignant nostalgia. Reflecting on such complex facets in the analytic process is relevant not only for a deeper understanding of illusions that we and our analysands hold with regard to endings, but also, implicitly, to the understanding of illusions, beliefs, and myths we and our patients have regarding beginnings. Objective: This study explores whether early change on a putative mechanism maintaining symptoms can serve as a proximal indicator of response to prompt discontinuation. Method: Patients (N = 70 ; Mage = 33.74, 67% female, 74% white) with heterogeneous anxiety and depressive disorders completed a sequential multiple assignment randomized trial (SMART). Patients received 6 sessions of skill modules from the Unified Protocol and then underwent a second-stage randomization to either receive the remaining 6 sessions (Full duration) or discontinue treatment (Brief duration). All participants completed weekly self-report measures of anxiety and depressive symptoms and distress aversion for the full 12-week treatment window. We used structural equation modeling to test (1) if distress aversion demonstrated significant variability during the first-stage randomization and (2) if distress aversion during the first-stage randomization predicted second-stage changes in anxiety and depression. Results: Participants demonstrated significant variability in first-stage distress aversion. Latent distress aversion slopes significantly predicted latent second-stage anxiety slopes, whereas latent distress aversion intercepts significantly predicted latent second-stage depression slopes. Conclusions: These results suggest that early mechanism engagement may have potential as a trigger to prompt personalized termination. The development of digital technology has also influenced the development of Indonesian legal regulations in the Reformation Era. For example, relating to the clause on violations of the law in the form of “disgraceful acts” in the dismissal of state officials. So far, it has been focused on actions that are contrary to customary norms, religious norms, and moral norms in general within the scope of conventional crimes only. This has given rise to the motivation to study “disgraceful acts” in the scope of the use of technology/cybercrime which is very likely to occur. The study was carried out using a statutory and conceptual approach, using primary legal materials in the form of legislation that applies to state officials, literature searches, and prescriptive analysis. The result is an understanding that “disgraceful acts” should be understood as acts that are contrary to customary norms, religious norms, and moral norms within the scope of conventional crime and cybercrime. This is regulated because the laws in force in Indonesia are expected to be full of moral and ethical values so that the state officials who are elected are, basically, officials with integrity, quality, and trust. An administrative contract, as a special type of contract, which represents a bilaterally binding contract by the nature of its conclusion, represents one of the administrative matters provided for by the Law on General Administrative Procedure. The administrative contract, as a specific legal institution belonging to administrative law, was introduced into the legal system of the Republic of Serbia by the adoption of the Law on General Administrative Procedure ("Official Gazette of the RS", No. No. 18/2016 and 2/2023 - Decision of the RS RS. See: Authentic interpretation - 95/2018), and in accordance with the tendency of harmonizing our legislation with the legal system of the European Union. The law itself (Art. 22-26), through five articles that were determined for this institute, regulates the concept and permissibility in terms of conclusion and content, the method of modification, the authority's right to terminate the contract, the right to object and the application of other regulations. as well as the law regulating obligation relations. This type of regulation of contractual relations, which act erga omnes (toward all - contracting parties), with the aim of representing a means by which a certain public interest will be achieved, has its specificity in relation to other contracts of the civil law system, which is reflected in the fact that one the contracting party is always a subject under public law. Bearing in mind that the administrative contract represents a novelty in the legal system, the effects of its application in practice will be subject to consideration and further improvement of the normative framework for its practical application. The brain is consisted of diverse neurons arising from a limited number of neural stem cells. Drosophila neural stem cells called neuroblasts (NBs) produces specific neural lineages of various lineage sizes depending on their location in the brain. In the Drosophila visual processing centre - the optic lobes (OLs), medulla NBs derived from the neuroepithelium (NE) give rise to neurons and glia cells of the medulla cortex. The timing and the mechanisms responsible for the cessation of medulla NBs are so far not known. In this study, we show that the termination of medulla NBs during early pupal development is determined by the exhaustion of the NE stem cell pool. Hence, altering NE-NB transition during larval neurogenesis disrupts the timely termination of medulla NBs. Medulla NBs terminate neurogenesis via a combination of apoptosis, terminal symmetric division via Prospero, and a switch to gliogenesis via Glial Cell Missing (Gcm); however, these processes occur independently of each other. We also show that temporal progression of the medulla NBs is mostly not required for their termination. As the Drosophila OL shares a similar mode of division with mammalian neurogenesis, understanding when and how these progenitors cease proliferation during development can have important implications for mammalian brain size determination and regulation of its overall function.

Abstract Late Pleistocene glacial terminations are caused by rising atmospheric CO2 occurring in response to atmospheric and ocean circulation changes induced by increased discharge from Northern Hemisphere ice sheets. While climate records place glacial terminations coincident with decreasing orbital precession, it remains unclear why a specific precession minimum causes a termination. We compare the orbital and ice volume configuration at each precession minima over the last million years to demonstrate that eccentricity, through its control on precession amplitude, period and coherence with obliquity, along with ice sheet size, determine whether a given precession minimum will cause a termination. We also demonstrate how eccentricity controls obliquity maxima and precession minima coherence, varying the duration of glaciations. Glaciations lasting ∼100 thousand years are controlled by Earth's eccentricity cycle of the same period, while the shortest (20–40 ka) and longest (155 ka) occupy the maxima and minimums of the 400 thousand year eccentricity cycle.

Budgetary and contributory organizations represent a stable element of public administration organizations in the Slovak Republic. A similar type of organization is also known in the legal regulations of European countries, or countries around the world, most often under the term government agencies. The legal regulation of budgetary and contributory organizations is important from the point of view of their competencies regulation since on the one hand their activities impact a wide spectrum of the users of their services and on the other hand, they are financed from public sources. The aim of the study is to clarify the legal framework for the establishment and termination of these organizations and the application practice in this area under the conditions of Slovak legislation within the competencies of the Ministry of Education, Science, Research, and Sport of the Slovak Republic. Within the research, methods of analysis, synthesis, comparison, and other scientific methods were used. The starting data to analyze are valid regulations in the Slovak Republic, internal legislation of the Ministry of Education, scientific studies, and foreign legislation to regulate the issue abroad. The study provides a basic regulation of the establishment and termination of budgetary and contributory organizations within legal conditions in the Slovak Republic and an overview of the implemented changes in the structure of departmental organizations within application practice in the education sector.

This Opinion examines the story in the news media involving Nigel Farage and Coutts' attempt to close his bank account. It shows that Farage was able to use this story to create a platform around which other politicians could join him in order to share their experiences and argue for change in the banking sector. The Opinion concludes that despite the strong rhetoric, the calls for reform will have little success because the rules themselves are clear and comprehendible and the exclusionary habits within British banks are pervasive. Vine Deloria's account of anthropology in Custer Died for Your Sins (Macmillan, 1969) has become a touchstone of disciplinary self-critiques, used to dismiss past anthropologists and their vision of the discipline. Yet contemporary critical histories of anthropological practice in Native North America often ignore the specificities of Deloria's complaints and erase his engagement with contemporary activist anthropologists. My article focuses on one of Deloria's most important anthropological interlocutors, Nancy Oestreich Lurie. Building on her experience as an action anthropologist, Lurie championed Deloria's call for a mode of anthropology responsive to Indigenous struggles in a series of publications beginning in 1969 and extending through subsequent decades. Drawing on archival sources, I trace the development of Lurie's engagement with Deloria in writings calling anthropologists to join the ongoing struggle of Indigenous peoples and in her work with activists from the Menominee Nation in their efforts to protect their land and reclaim their sovereignty. Building upon recent efforts to assess the history of anthropology in light of renewed calls for disciplinary decolonization, this paper turns to the role of US anthropologists in the infamous policy known as Indian termination, or the withdrawal of all federal aid, services, and protection from tribal members, as well as the end of reservations. Contextualizing the activism of the applied anthropologist John H. Provinse against the backdrop of broader shifts in post-WWII US liberalism, I argue that Provinse's support for termination in the late 1940s reflected an embattled social democratic and pluralistic conception of Indian–US relations. This perspective contrasted with and was ultimately overshadowed by the assimilatory sentiments that would become institutionalized in the termination policies of the 1950s. Thus, Provinse provides an analytical opening from which to explore the discipline's relationship with termination as well as the affordances and limitations of liberal anthropological activism. The aim of this study was to determine course number of misoprostol to successfully terminate a pregnancy according to gestational age. We retrospectively analyzed 365 consecutive terminations of pregnancies from the hospital records and our Perinatology Unit registry. The study cohort was divided into three; according to the trimesters of the pregnancy. The course number of vaginal misoprostol, hemoglobin levels and indications of pregnancy terminations were compared. More than half of the medical terminations of pregnancies were due to fetal central nervous system anomalies (51,2%). The course number needed for successful termination of pregnancy was significantly higher in the second trimester of pregnancy, compared to the first trimester group (p=0.0002). There was no significant difference between first and third trimesters (p=0.652). Increased number of courses of misoprostol was directly associated with drop in hemoglobin levels, regardless of gestational week or parity. Vaginal misoprostol alone is still safe and effective method for termination of pregnancy. The number of courses needed for expulsion of the fetus is significantly higher during the second trimester of the pregnancy and as course number increased, the reduction in hemoglobin levels was more pronounced. Teratogens are responsible for 5% of all known causes of congenital anomalies. Isotretinoin, a retinoic acid–derived agent, leads to congenital anomalies in 21–52% of cases when exposure occurs during pregnancy according to studies conducted before 2006. However, rates of congenital anomalies were much lower in later studies. The purpose of this study was to investigate the rates of congenital anomalies in isotretinoin exposure during pregnancy, isotretinoin exposure before pregnancy, and a control group unexposed to any teratogenic agents. In this cohort study, we divided pregnant women admitted to our center between 2009 and 2020 into two groups: isotretinoin exposure before and during the pregnancy (n = 77) and isotretinoin exposure before the pregnancy (n = 75). We selected the control group from among the non-teratogen exposed pregnant women with a simple random sampling method. Obstetricians calculated the ages of all pregnancies via ultrasound (USG) (crown-rump diameter for the first trimester; biparietal diameter and femur length for the second trimester). After birth, a pediatric genetics specialist examined all babies. Whole-exome sequencing (WES) was conducted on the babies who displayed complex phenotypes. Among the isotretinoin exposure before and during the pregnancy, isotretinoin exposure before the pregnancy, and the control groups, there were statistically significant differences in live births (respectively, 64.3 %, 88 %, 93.3 %), congenital anomalies (respectively, 28.6 %, 6.1 %, 1.4 %), miscarriages (respectively, 13 %, 2.7 %, 4 %), terminations (respectively, 32.5 %, 9.3 %, 2.7 %), and premature births (11.9 %, 16.7 %, 2.9 %) (respectively, p < 0.001, p < 0.001, p = 0.014, p < 0.001). We detected novel phenotypical features in five patients. Our study demonstrated that study design, long-term follow-up, teratological counseling, and implementation of advanced molecular analysis in complex phenotypes with novel phenotypical features are beneficial for understanding the association of congenital anomalies with isotretinoin exposure. While evaluating congenital anomalies, we detected statistically significant differences between isotretinoin exposure before and during the pregnancy vs control, but we did not detect any statistically significant differences between isotretinoin exposure before the pregnancy and controls. Another finding of the study is that WES might be an efficient way to evaluate complex phenotypes in isotretinoin-exposed babies; however, further research is required. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
