- Abstract
The objective of this study was to provide the poster and podium publication rates from the 2016 to 2019 American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons (AAHKS) annual meetings and assess the quality of presentations ultimately published during this time. Posters and podiums from 2016 to 2019 were located through the AAHKS e-poster and meeting archives. Titles were queried on Google, Google Scholar, and PubMed. Presentation title, topic type, number of authors, degrees held by first author, and award status were collected. For each identified full-text publication, journal name, study type, dates of online and print publication, and journal impact factor (JIF) were also obtained. A total of 1,274 abstracts were presented at the 2016 to 2019 AAHKS annual meetings with an overall publication rate of 67.8% (864 of 1,274). Podiums (4.0 months, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 3.0 to 4.0) were more likely to be published earlier than posters (7.0 months, 95% CI: 6.0 to 7.0) (P <.001). The median JIF of published abstracts was 3.3 (95% CI: 3.3 to 3.7) with no significant difference in mean JIF of published posters or podiums (3.3 ± 1.0 versus 3.3 ± 1.0, P =.554). The likelihood of publication was significantly higher for podiums (odds ratio [OR]: 3.41, 95% CI: 2.29 to 5.07, P <.001), award-winning presentations (OR: 4.78, 95% CI: 1.69 to 13.55, P =.003), and with more authors (OR: 1.09, 95% CI: 1.02 to 1.16, P =.014). This analysis demonstrates abstracts presented at the AAHKS annual meetings from 2016 to 2019 had an overall publication rate of 67.8%, with podiums (86.4%) 3 times as likely to be published as posters (63.6%). If selected to present at the AAHKS annual meeting, individuals can be confident that their work has a high chance of eventual publication. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Drawing inspiration from the Ukrainian poster boom during the Russian invasion of Ukraine, this article explores the role of war-related posters in today’s world, where printed media is no longer dominant, and images can travel across different media platforms. The example of wartime Ukraine shows that the poster remains an essential tool of wartime propaganda, promoting patriotic and proactive attitudes and encouraging action to support the war effort, while experiencing substantial changes in its form and means of dissemination. Analyzing various types of grassroots and institutional initiatives related to creating and disseminating war-related posters in Ukrainian offline and online public spaces made it possible to focus on two issues: firstly, how online media facilitate the creation and distribution of posters in offline formats and allow them to transcend the traditional printed form; and secondly, how posters become a convenient tool of participatory propaganda, involving various state and non-state actors in their production and dissemination.

This research aims to analyze students' creativity in writing autobiography and biography texts in Arabic using poster media in higher education. Researchers used a qualitative approach with a case study method on 35 students. Data collection techniques used interviews, documentation and observation in Arabic writing skills learning activities, while the data analysis techniques used included triangulation of data sources identified through three stages, namely data collection, data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The research results show that: 1) Student creativity in writing autobiographical and biographical texts using posters is more varied with the choice of colors, images and identification of introductory texts, experiences and life learning; 2) the sentence structure used consists of five structures, namely the structure of verbs, nouns, adverbial attributes, properties and prepositions. Research findings show that the use of poster media in learning writing skills is able to develop creativity and a variety of sentence structures. This research is limited to only two texts, so the researcher recommends further research to analyze a variety of other texts using poster media and more varied research methods.

MODERN philosophy , *RELIGIOUS idols , *POSTERS , *TRANSCENDENTALISM (Philosophy) , *NEOPLATONISM - Abstract
The article presents an attempt to search for a different path to a philosophy of Byzantine iconography, which, through the construct of virtual transcendentalism, heuristically allows to understand the icon as a poster of the logos development of Byzantine doctrinal thought in the context of the logos development of European philosophy, summarized by the concept of logodynamism (a new term introduced by the author), which embeds medieval Christian thought in the logos environment from Heraclitus, Parmenides through Plato and Aristotle to modern European philosophy and enables the search for modern ways of understanding Christian phenomena, such as Byzantine iconography. The article brings out the connection of the icon with the archetypal and contemporary forms of the poster through the idea of message and image as a cultural phenomenon and thus achieves a different ontological status for the icon, making sense of its positioning in the contemporary cultural environment. Posters are graphic design products that have the function of directly conveying the message they contain to the audience. Poster designs, including many metaphors, are materials that carry out tasks such as memorising, arousing interest, and visually conveying the cumulative accumulation that needs to be transferred for a purpose to a community. Poster design and illustration are integrated in many multidisciplinary fields, primarily in the field of graphic design, seeing that they are artistic and subjective. The impressive and persuasive power of the illustration technique enables the reinforcement of meaning in poster designs and ensures memorability. This study tries to reveal the metaphoric meanings in Luba Lukova's minimalist illustration posters by analysing the metaphor phenomenon in illustration posters. With the phenomenon of metaphor, the actual meaning hidden under the visual elements is transformed from abstract to concrete and conveyed to the audience as a message. This study utilised from document analysis, one of the qualitative research methods, Luba Lukova's 10 minimalist illustration posters were randomly selected and interpreted. When Lukova's minimalist illustration posters were examined in relation to the subject matter, it has been concluded that she used a single colour background in all her minimalist posters, handled the metaphor phenomenon thematically competently, and conveyed the trilogy of ideas, emotions and meaning to the audience in a simple style. Lukova, who adopts a thought-provoking and powerful design style with depictions far from confusion, uses illustrations. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The poster session has become one of the types of professional events (congresses, conferences, seminars, etc.). Despite the long-term discussions about the poster as an effective tool in the scholarly communication and its comparison with the abstract it has not studied as a product of analytical and synthetic information processing. The purpose of this article is to consider theoretical questions about the poster as an information product. The traditional structure of the poster is similar to the structure of a research article (introduction, methods, results, discussion) with the only difference – the poster presents these elements in compressed form, as well as in an abstract. The article gives a comparative analysis of the poster and abstract. It shows that such features of the abstract as information content, high semantic capacity, accurate reflection of the main actual information and conclusions, etc., are characteristic of posters as well. It concludes that summarizing the results of the analytical and synthetic processing of information in the poster allows its considering as one of the types of information products and libraries can include posters in the list of their information products/services. In order to create posters, such skills as compression of information, data visualization, communicative skills, research skills and critical thinking, as well as mastering technical tools, which are in demand in the market today and are reflected in the professional standard “Specialist in Library and Information Activities”. Their development can be made by poster technology, which is already lately implemented at the Library and Information Department of the St. Petersburg State Institute of Culture.

This article deals with the intertwine between street art and the practice of democracy in post-Soeharto Indonesia. It attempts to investigate the role of street art in the contemporary political landscape of Indonesia, especially two decades after the reformasi (reformation) movement. Reformasi, which was marked by the collapse of the New Order regime in 1998, is regarded as a turning point in Indonesia's democracy after 32 years of authoritarian government. Street art took a crucial part in that historic moment as a medium of protest. This study shows cases of the Anti-Tank Project, one of Yogyakarta’s street artists, posters with four prominent issues: human rights, gentrification, rotten politicians, and anti-corruption, which are pivotal issues in strengthening the democracy agenda in Indonesia. I argue Anti-Tank Project has a significant role in the production of a new space of democracy through his works. This article investigates 12 Anti-Tank posters by employing the Peircean semiotic perspective and analyzes them through theoretical and conceptual approaches, namely democracy and participation, relational aesthetics, new social movement, and alternative media.

- Abstract
Today, along with the developing technology, institutions and organizations aim to reach a wider audience. Various visual and audio messages are prepared to reach these audiences. The Institutions and organizations need to convey these messages to individuals. The messages to be conveyed are delivered to the target audience through various communication tools. Posters, one of these communication tools, make it possible to convey the messages desired to be sent via various visuals. Within the scope of this research, the AOI (area of interest) of the posters prepared by NATO and having similar content in terms of the message conveyed were determined and these posters were analyzed comparatively. Considering NATO's founding purpose, mission and activities, it has been tried to understand how these posters which were prepared by NATO for various purposes and brought to the public, reached their goals and how they were perceived by the target audience. Eye Tracking and GSR (Skin Conductivity) methods, which are among the neuroscience methods, were used in the study. The effectiveness level of the messages and visual contents conveyed by the posters on the participants was tried to be determined. When GSR (Skin Conductance) data were analyzed, it was found that the posters with visuals on the posters had higher values, while the visuals with only text on the posters had lower values. - Abstract
In the tumultuous era of the First World War, the propaganda posters of England serve not only as documents of a war but also as evidence of the historical evolution of visual communication. The First World War, in addition to being a major conflict, has gone down in history as a poster war or a propaganda battle. Visual propaganda was a critical strategy employed by England to mobilize its own people for the war effort and, simultaneously, to influence its adversaries. Using the power of design, this strategy shaped the beliefs and participation of the public in the war. The visual content analysis in this study meticulously examines the details of posters from the era, reflecting the spirit of the time while also highlighting the strong influence of graphic design in political history. This analysis contributes to a better understanding of how the public was guided through visual propaganda, the attitudes of the people of that era towards the war, and the effects of the war on societal dynamics. Background: Diabetes with related complications is a common disease state seen in primary care and available therapies have increased exponentially. It is difficult for a busy primary clinician to know and utilize these options efficiently. Objective: The objective was to determine whether creating a diabetes medication poster that included costs, drug classification, adverse effects, and clinical outcomes/contraindications/cautions for use in an internal medicine/medicine-pediatric clinic improves resident and faculty knowledge, comfort, and awareness of those medications. Methods: This quality improvement prospective study was designed to evaluate the utility of a diabetes medication poster in a medicine/medicine-pediatric clinic over a 2-month period. A pre and post survey was electronically sent to all residents and faculty to assess their level of confidence and knowledge of diabetes medication treatment before and after the poster was distributed. This study was classified as exempt by the Institutional Review Board. Results: There were 40 physicians that responded to the pre survey and 31 to the post survey. Both surveys revealed >90% agreed or strongly agreed that the poster would decrease risk of adverse reactions, help control cost, and increase confidence to providers about diabetic medications. The knowledge score increased pre vs post survey (P =.0398). Conclusion: There are a myriad of tools that can be utilized to help navigate complex diseases. Posters have rarely been evaluated. Physicians viewed the diabetes medication poster as favorable to help decrease adverse effects and cost while increasing knowledge. Areas where visual aids could be effective without overwhelming the providers should be explored. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
Purpose: As fertile soil for product promotion, online interest communities have gradually come into brands' view. However, existing research does not clarify whether brand engagement in consumer interaction is beneficial to the development of online interest communities. This study attempts to investigate the effects of brand engagement on the online interest community operation. Design/methodology/approach: The authors propose a model that delineated the influence of brand engagement on consumers' citizenship behavior in the online interest community from the commitment-trust perspective. Scenario-based experiments were conducted and 536 data were collected by simple random sampling. Findings: Results shows that a stronger perception of brand engagement has a positive influence on the relationship (trust and commitment) between the community and its users, which further influences online community citizenship behavior (feedback, advocacy and tolerance) of both posters and lurkers, especially for the posters. Although relationships are more complex, brand engagement activates the development of online interest communities to some extent. Originality/value: This original study contributes to the commitment-trust theory by examining the impact of brand engagement on citizenship behavior via community commitment and trust in the online interest community context. In addition, this study compares the moderating effect of posters vs lurkers on the relationship between brand engagement and citizenship behavior in the online interest community. Objective Research productivity impacts an individual's academic credentials and serves to advance the field of neurosurgery at large. Poster presentations allow researchers to share preliminary results with respected colleagues; however, more critical is the ability to publish peer-reviewed articles. Key factors that lead posters to journal publication are not well understood and difficult to quantify. This study investigates the association between bibliometrics of authors who presented posters at the North American Skull Base Society (NASBS) meeting and odds of journal publication. Methods Posters from the 2016 to 2018 NASBS archive were reviewed. Hirsch-index (h-index) of first (FH) and senior (SH) authors, research type, research topic, and number of poster authors (nAuthPost) were collected. For posters published as journal articles, number of days from poster presentation to publication (nDays), number of authors in published articles (nAuthArt), and journal impact factor (JIF) were recorded. Results One-hundred sixty-nine of 481 posters (35.1%) were published as articles. Median FH and SH for published versus unpublished posters were 7 versus 5 (p = 0.01) and 29 versus 19 (p < 0.001), respectively. When adjusted with multivariate regression, only SH (p < 0.001) and nAuthPost (p = 0.001) were significantly associated with odds of publication. Median (interquartile range [IQR]) nDays was 361 (394). Increased authors from poster to article (p = 0.017) and lower FH (p = 0.08) were correlated with increased time to publication. Median (IQR) JIF for all publications was 1.723 (1.068). Conclusions Bibliometrics such as h-index and number of authors from posters can help objectively characterize and predict future success in research productivity. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
The exchange and development of information about COVID-19 during the pandemic is very important, both for academics, researchers, practitioners, stakeholders, and the general public. Students who are part of the community are agents of education and change who are able to make a real and colorful contribution to society, especially among the younger generation. One of the efforts that can be done by students is to become an educator around the pandemic who is qualified, informative, and communicative. This, one of them, can be done through poster-based education. Training activities are carried out systematically, from theoretical to practical activities, namely by using lecture, question and answer, practice, and brainstorming methods. The trainees are bilingual Sundanese-Indonesian students at the Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Padjadjaran University. This community service was carried out in the form of training to make communicative and informative posters about Covid-19 for Sundanese-Indonesian bilingual students at the Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Padjadjaran University. VIDEO summarization ,POSTERS ,INDUSTRIAL costs ,EXPORT marketing ,FACE perception ,INTERNATIONAL markets - Abstract
With the rapid development of domestic and international over-the-top markets, a large amount of video content is being created. As the volume of video content increases, consumers tend to increasingly check data concerning the videos before watching them. To address this demand, video summaries in the form of plot descriptions, thumbnails, posters, and other formats are provided to consumers. This study proposes an approach that automatically generates posters to effectively convey video content while reducing the cost of video summarization. In the automatic generation of posters, face recognition and clustering are used to gather and classify character data, and keyframes from the video are extracted to learn the overall atmosphere of the video. This study used the facial data of the characters and keyframes as training data and employed technologies such as DreamBooth, a text-to-image generation model, to automatically generate video posters. This process significantly reduces the time and cost of video-poster production. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

AUGMENTED reality ,DATA visualization ,CULTURAL activities ,INFORMATION storage & retrieval systems ,ACCULTURATION ,USER experience - Abstract
The use of augmented reality (AR) is the only meaningful way towards the creation and integration of information into a cultural (and not only) analogue leaflet, flyer and poster, which by their nature have limited informational material. The enrichment of information, which an analogue leaflet has, with additional descriptive information (text), multimedia (image, video, sound), 3-D models, etc., gives the end recipient/user a unique experience of approaching and understanding a music event, for example. The Digi-Orch is a research project that aims to create smart printed communication materials (e.g., posters, concert programme booklets) and an accompanying AR application to provide this enhanced audience experience to classical music lovers. The paper presents the ways in which AR can extend and enrich an analogue leaflet/flyer/poster, the features of and how to use the developed AR application, as well as the components, architecture and functions of the system. It also presents the different versions of the AR application within the project, starting with the laboratory versions, continuing with the pilot versions in real conditions (music events) and reaching the final prototype and the educational version of the AR application.

Background: Academic conference posters are a key communication before journal articles. Attention to visual attributes can enhance academic poster communication. Objective: This investigation's purpose was to create a visual impression measurement instrument, and then to describe and compare visual impression among scientific posters from an academic conference. Methods: A mixed-approach rubric was created to quickly measure visual impression of academic posters. Then, posters from a pharmacy education conference were retrospectively reviewed and scored. Visual impression was compared for traditional versus contemporary poster-formats. Various poster characteristics (poster-format, summary statement presence, abstract presence, wordiness, QR-code presence, logical sequencing, visuals) that might have impacted visual communication were coded. These characteristics were regressed onto visual impression scores. Results: Three-hundred seventy-eight posters were scored with sound inter-rater reliability. Contemporary poster-format scored significantly higher than traditional. Poster-format, abstract absence, lack of wordiness, QR-code presence, logical sequencing, and number of visuals were significant when regressed. Conclusion: Posters at one academic conference had varied visual impression. While a contemporary poster-format appeared more helpful, it was not a panacea; variation from poor through exemplary was seen with both poster-formats. Posters are not text-filled articles; displaying a combination of visuals/text clearly and concisely can help effective communication with academic posters.

This article focuses on the creative activities of the Penza poster workshop “Agit-Window” — a provincial equivalent of the “TASS Window” for creating large-format mass publications during the period of the Great Patriotic War. For the first time, archival documents are introduced into scientific circulation. The creative practices of the group of artists who organized the production of agitational materials in Penza are described. The cultural interaction of the artistic intelligentsia at the level of “union center — province” is characterized. The role of the heritage of the Penza art school in the creation and development of the genre of military-defense posters is highly appreciated, as well as the contribution of those artists who were evacuated to Penza during the war. The author focuses on describing the content of the posters “Agit-Window” published in Penza, attempts to classify and differentiate them from other artistic practices. Based on an analysis of surviving original posters, the narrative and artistic evolution of Penza’s “Agit-Window” is traced through its visual features and methods of creation. The author concludes that despite cyclical periods of liquidation and restoration, the Penza workshop for military-defense posters maintained its distinctive style and contributed to the creation of vivid examples of satirical and patriotic graphics.

The expression of resistance against the authorities during the street protests of the so-called snow revolution in the years 2011-2012 reached a level of mass creativity and visuality previously and since unrecorded in Russian social life and, despite its lack of success, it is worth attention due to its openness and intensity. During the snow revolution a certain corpus of texts (slogans) was shaped, with repeatability typical for folklore – it was a recurrence of themes, motifs, characters, linguistic tricks, images, textual models. The aim of analyzing selected protest slogans is to showcase contexts that constitute the source of oppositional expression on the textual (slogan on a poster), visual (image on a poster) and object (artifacts) level. The examples of the protest creativity presented in the article prove that verbal, visual and material ways of resistance realized functions typical for political folklore, such as integrating the rebels, mocking the stronger enemy as a defense strategy, unmasking the crimes of the government, and expressing the expectations of the protesters.

MEETINGS ,POSTERS ,QUALITY assurance ,MEDICAL research - Abstract
The next step following acceptance of an abstract submitted for a scientific meeting is to create the poster. Poster presentations provide an avenue for dissemination of research findings as well as the opportunity to highlight the work and network with other clinicians. Requirements for poster presentations vary among scientific meetings. Therefore, it is important to follow instructions set forth by the specific conference at which the work will be presented. Important considerations for poster design include the elements it should contain, font type and size, use of tables and figures, and poster size. Research indicates visual appeal has a greater influence in attracting attention than content. In addition to creating the poster, preparing for presentation is an essential step in the process. Practicing the presentation prior to the meeting, anticipating questions, and being familiar with the poster content are principal factors in preparing for the presentation. Oral presentations for posters are typically brief and should only focus on the key points. The purpose of this paper is to review poster design and provide general guidelines for presenting an abstract at a scientific meeting. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This research aimed to determine the types and the most commonly used word-formation type on twenty posters on @infolomba on Instagram taken from October 2019 to February 2020. The researchers used distributional analysis to analyze the structure of new words by breaking the morpheme elements. The researchers found 360 data considered as new-word formations on English posters. This study exhibits that derivation, inflection, conversion, compounding, abbreviation, acronym, blending, clipping, borrowing, and reduplication were word-formation types in creating new words on posters. The researchers also found the double words formation process, such as compounding + derivation, compounding + inflection, compounding + abbreviation, compounding + conversion, and derivation + inflection. In conclusion, the abbreviations on posters were English posters' most commonly used word-formation type. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

POSTERS - Abstract
Poster has both emotional orientation and genre characteristics, and its intentional visual metaphorical meaning is very obvious. It is found that the intentional visual metaphor under the interaction of image and text has the characteristics of parasitic dependence, convergence and integration, context dependence, selective filtering, multi directionality and subject dependence. The dominant role of intentionality in visual metaphor is inseparable from human experience and cultural constraints. These two factors interact and promote each other, and contribute to the meaning construction of visual metaphor. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

ACADEMIC discourse , *COLLECTIVE representation , *ENGINEERING students , *GROUNDED theory , *POSTERS , *ENGINEERING , *SOCIALIZATION - Abstract
This research aims to understand the social representations (SR) about the creation and sharing a poster by a group of Electronic Engineering students in the final stage of their careers. The methodology followed a qualitative, descriptive-interpretative, and crosssectional approach. The principles of grounded theory (GT) were chosen as the analysis technique for the study. The results show a central representation of the production and socialization of the poster as a series of complex and strenuous tasks, whose elaboration requires a series of linguistic-cognitive, social, and multimodal skills for which the students were not adequately prepared. In addition, they construct the elaboration and socialization of a poster as an experience that produces epistemic, emotional, and critical-reflexive effects. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
