El objetivo del presente estudio fue analizar los penaltis y dobles penaltis en Fútbol a 5 para personas ciegas del Mundial de Fa5 de 2014 y los Juegos Paralímpicos de 2016, además de conocer las diferencias entre las competiciones internacionales analizadas. Para ello, se analizarán un total de 127 penaltis y dobles penaltis efectuados en los campeonatos. Se realizó un análisis descriptivo y de diferencias entre las variables planteadas en el estudio en relación al tipo de competición. Los resultados evidencian la importancia de los penaltis o dobles penaltis en el fútbol para ciegos. Existen diferencias significativas entre las competiciones analizadas que están relacionadas con las variables: fase de juego, situación del equipo y técnica de orientación. Por otro lado, la técnica con la que ejecuta esta acción permanece estable durante los campeonatos. Abstract The aim of the present study was to analyze the penalties and doubles penalties in football 5-a-side for the blind World Cup 2014 and the 2016 Paralympic Games, furthermore knowing the differences between analyzed international competitions. For this, a total of 127 penalties and doubles penalties will be analyzed in the championships. A descriptive and differences analysis between the variables proposed in the study was made in relation to the type of competition. The result shows the importance of the performance of penalties and doubles penalties in football for the blind. There are significant differences between the analyzed competitions related to the variables game phase, equipment situation and orientation technique. It seems that the technique executed for this action remains stable during the championships.

Objective: Fatigue is an integral part of sports that can affect athletic performance. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of shoulder girdle muscle fatigue on ground reaction force, Elbow and shoulder angle, and accuracy in handball penalty throws. Methods: 10 healthy male handball player with no history of injury in the shoulder (mean age 9/18 years, weight 79/72 kg, height 179 cm, 6/5 year membership in the team) voluntarily participated in this study. The subjects with full respect for the laws took a total of 16 penalty shots before and 16shots after reaching fatigue. Ground reaction force, angle of elbow and shoulder, and accuracy of launch of the two phaseس (phase of preparation for throwing and phase of the release of the ball) were recorded before and after fatigue. Results: Results showed significant differences in ground reaction force and accuracy of the throws before and after fatigue (p0.05). Discussion: As the subjects were professional, muscle fatigue did not have a significant effect on postural control, angles and angular velocity; but did affect the reaction force and accuracy of the throws before and after fatigue, which could ultimately affect the performance of athletes and competition results.

The aim of this study was to determine the effects of changing the distance of the penalty shot in water polo from 4 to 5 m. While a shorter distance made the penalty shot more effective, it also reduced the use of this sanction. A total of 192 matches played in the 2003 and 2007 Water Polo World Championships were recorded. The sample included 278 penalty shots in both tournaments. Notational analysis using a longitudinal correlational and descriptive design was employed to determine whether a longer distance increased the number of sanctioned penalties (81 vs 197) and caused a non-significant decrease in scoring efficiency (7.4%) with significant differences in the relationship between the area and the type of a shot, with less centre and power shots (14.8% vs 7.1%) observed and predominance of bounce shots to the right of the goal posts. The rule change prompted more penalties, produced changes in shot direction as well as the type of a shot, and yielded a decrement of 7.4% in scoring efficiency. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Some kinematic variables and some anthropometric measurements affect the performance of human movements in general and motor performance and skills in the field of sports. The study problem is stated by the analysis of some kinematic variables and Their relationship with some anthropometric measurements in the penalty shot in water polo sport. The study aimed to identify the following : 1 – Determining the values of some kinematic variables in the penalty shot in water polo. 2 – Determining values of some anthropometric measurements in the penalty shot in water polo. 3–Determining the relationship of some kinematic variables of anthropometric measurements in the penalty shot in water polo. The study sample consisted of (7) players from the Iraqi youth national water polo team. The study was performed in the indoor Kadhimiya swimming pool in Baghdad in (2012). The researchers used the AL accuracy shot test in water polo with scientific observation by using a digital camera with a speed of 250 frames/second. The researchers processed data statistically using the arithmetic mean, standard deviation, coefficient of variance, and simple correlation coefficient. From the results, the researchers found a number of conclusions and the researchers recommended a number of recommendations and suggestions.

This study investigated whether anticipation and search strategies of goalkeepers are influenced by temporally and spatially manipulated video of a penalty. Participants were clustered into three groups depending on skill: goalkeepers (n = 17), field players (n = 20) and control group (n = 20). An eye tracker was worn whilst watching 40 videos of a striker kicking to four corners of a goal in random order. All 40 videos were temporally occluded at foot-to-ball contact, and the non-kicking leg of 20 videos was spatially manipulated. Results showed that goalkeepers had significantly better predictions than the two groups with no differences between the two testing conditions. According to effect size, the percentage of fixation location and viewing time of the kicking leg and ball were greater for the goalkeepers and field players group than the control group irrespective of testing conditions. The fixations on the kicking leg and ball in conjunction with comparable predictions between spatially manipulated and control conditions suggest that goalkeepers may not rely on the non-kicking leg. Furthermore, goalkeepers appear to use a global perceptual approach by anchoring on a distal fixation point/s of the penalty taker whilst using peripheral vision to obtain additional information.
