5. Dynamic phases induced by two-level system defects on driven qubits

Abstract

Recent experimental evidences point to two-level defects, located in the oxides and on the interfaces of the Josephson junctions, as the major constituents of decoherence in superconducting qubits. How these defects affect the qubit evolution with the presence of external driving is less well understood since the semiclassical qubit-field coupling renders the Jaynes-Cummings model for qubit-defect coupling undiagonalizable. We analyze the decoherence dynamics in the continuous coherent state space induced by the driving and solve the master equation endowed with an extra decay-cladded driving term via a Fokker-Planck equation. The solutions for diffusion propagators as Gaussian distributions show four distinct dynamic phases: four types of convergence paths to limit cycles of varying radius by the distribution mean, which are determined by the competing external driving and the defect decays. The qubit trajectory resulted from these solutions is a super-Poissonian over displac ed Fock states, which reduces to a Gibbs state of effective temperature decided by the defect at zero driving limit. Further, the Poincare map shows the dependence of the rate of convergence on the initial state. In other words, the qubit evolution can serve as an indicator of the defect coupling strength through the variation of the driving strength as a parameter.

Abstract

Aiming at the demand for real-time numerical/semi-physical simulation in the research process of automated aerial refueling for unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), this paper develops an automated aerial refueling distributed simulation system based on ZeroMQ and C++/Qt. Firstly, the simulation communication network of distributed simulation system is designed. Then, the program framework is designed and the management node and simulation node are defined. Finally, the above mentioned context is programmed through ZeroMQ and C++/Qt. The distributed simulation system can realize the real-time simulation for automated aerial refueling, and leave the convenient interface for semi-physical simulation.

Abstract

Consider one controller design problem for UAV flight control system, while guaranteeing the closed loop output track one expected output, this new paper derives this optimal controller through our own mathematical theories. After introducing the practical UAV flight control and formulating this practical problem into one closed loop control problem, the concept about tracking control with zero steady state is defined. Then from two aspects of tracking mission, two optimal controllers are yielded through solving two different optimization problems. Although their forms are different, we establish the equivalent properties between them together. Moreover, the detailed algorithm if designing the tracking controller within the case of zero steady state is shown. Finally, a platform about the practical UAV flight system is constructed to do some simulations so that our theoretical analysis is proven.

Abstract

Reduced graphene oxide (RGO) is an ideal material as an electrode used in the electrochemical energy storage field. However, the serious aggregation of graphene sheets and fewer chemically active sites limit it from exhibiting higher performance. Herein, we introduce a facile solvothermal reaction method to simultaneously regulate the functional groups on RGO, balance the aggregation and connection of graphene sheets, and dope the nitrogen element in a graphene network. The obtained electrode (RGO-N(DMF)) has a high content of carbonyl and nitrogen functional groups, and shows a fluffy structure as well as good electron conductivity, exhibiting both high chemically and physically actives sites. Benefiting from these advantages, RGO-N(DMF) shows a high specific capacity of 135 mA h g−1 at 0.2 A g−1 and favorable rate performance of maintaining 53% capacity at 50 A g−1, which are both higher than those of the normal hydrothermally obtained RGO electrodes. More interestingly, RGO-N(DMF) can maintain the high electrochemical performance at a high mass loading of 5.1 mg cm−2. In addition, when the RGO-N(DMF) electrode is used in the flexible Zn-ion hybrid supercapacitor (ZHS), the capacity retention remains at 100% after 500-time bending, showing excellent mechanical flexibility. This study not only provides an effective strategy for constructing carbon-based cathode materials with excellent properties, but also provides prospects and enlightenment for the practical application of aqueous ZHSs. Abstract

In this paper, we propose a novel data driven strategy framework for linear parameter varying closed loop system which consists of linear parameter varying system and linear parameter varying controller simultaneously. Firstly, we consider the model based control framework whose controller design is dependent of the considered system. In particular, due to the unknown system and unknown controller, data driven strategy is applied to obtain the system and controller respectively in their nonparametric and parametric forms. Such two different forms are related with system identification, power spectral and numerical optimization,etc. with a choice of the optimal input signal design. Secondly, to avoid the identification process of that system, data driven strategy is modified to design the controller directly from the observed input-output data sequence without providing any priori information on the considered system. We show that various techniques for data driven strategy to identify system or design controller, such as system identification, numerical optimization, power spectral and optimal input design etc within the proposed general framework.
