In order to improve the efficiency of oil shale pyrolysis and the utilization value of semi-coke, this paper co-pyrolyzed Huadian oil shale and waste tire.The weight loss behavior, product yield and composition properties of co-pyrolysis were investigated by thermogravimetric analyzer and aluminum retort reactor.The synergistic effect was analyzed based on the difference between experimental and calculated values.The results show that co-pyrolysis can promote the release of volatile matter, the actual weight loss is higher than the calculated value at 500 ℃, and reaches the maximum value of 2.86 % when the proportion of waste tire is 80 %.The mixed pyrolysis of oil shale and waste tire has the effect of "increasing oil and reducing water".When the waste tire accounts for 50 %, the actual oil yield is 32.91 %, which is 1.5 % higher than the calculated value, and the actual water yield is 1.20 % to 1.77 % lower than the calculated value.Meanwhile, the content of heavy components with boiling point higher than 350 ℃ in the pyrolysis oil increases.There is higher yield of C1~C4 hydrocarbons from waste tire pyrolysis, and the calorific value of semi-coke is up to 30.43 MJ/kg.Co-pyrolysis can also improve the calorific value of pyrolysis gas and semi-coke.

Accumulation of aggregated α-synuclein (α-syn) in Lewy bodies is the pathological hallmark of Parkinson's disease (PD). Genetic mutations in lipid metabolism are causative for a subset of patients with Parkinsonism. The role of α-syn's lipid interactions in its function and aggregation is recognized, yet the specific lipids involved and how lipid metabolism issues trigger α-syn aggregation and neurodegeneration remain unclear. Here, we found that α-syn shows a preference for binding to lysophospholipids (LPLs), particularly targeting lysophosphatidylcholine (LPC) without relying on electrostatic interactions. LPC is capable of maintaining α-syn in a compact conformation, significantly reducing its propensity to aggregate both in vitro and within cellular environments. Conversely, a reduction in the production of cellular LPLs is associated with an increase in α-syn accumulation. Our work underscores the critical role of LPLs in preserving the natural conformation of α-syn to inhibit improper aggregation, and establishes a potential connection between lipid metabolic dysfunction and α-syn aggregation in PD. Highlights: A class of hydrogel electrolytes that couple high adhesion and anti-freezing properties is developed. Zn/Li hybrid capacitors based on the hydrogel electrolyte can tolerate low temperatures and accommodate dynamic deformations across a temperature range of 25 to − 60 °C. This work highlights an advancement for promoting next-generation energy storage system with low-temperature capability and mechanical durability. Solid-state zinc-ion capacitors are emerging as promising candidates for large-scale energy storage owing to improved safety, mechanical and thermal stability and easy-to-direct stacking. Hydrogel electrolytes are appealing solid-state electrolytes because of eco-friendliness, high conductivity and intrinsic flexibility. However, the electrolyte/electrode interfacial contact and anti-freezing properties of current hydrogel electrolytes are still challenging for practical applications of zinc-ion capacitors. Here, we report a class of hydrogel electrolytes that couple high interfacial adhesion and anti-freezing performance. The synergy of tough hydrogel matrix and chemical anchorage enables a well-adhered interface between hydrogel electrolyte and electrode. Meanwhile, the cooperative solvation of ZnCl2 and LiCl hybrid salts renders the hydrogel electrolyte high ionic conductivity and mechanical elasticity simultaneously at low temperatures. More significantly, the Zn||carbon nanotubes hybrid capacitor based on this hydrogel electrolyte exhibits low-temperature capacitive performance, delivering high-energy density of 39 Wh kg−1 at −60 °C with capacity retention of 98.7% over 10,000 cycles. With the benefits of the well-adhered electrolyte/electrode interface and the anti-freezing hydrogel electrolyte, the Zn/Li hybrid capacitor is able to accommodate dynamic deformations and function well under 1000 tension cycles even at −60 °C. Macroalgae, playing a crucial role in coastal marine ecosystems, are subject to multiple environmental challenges due to tidal and seasonal alterations. In this work, we investigated the physiological responses of Pyropia yezoensis to ocean acidification (ambient CO2 (AC: 400 μatm) and elevated CO2 (HC: 1000 μatm)) under changing salinity (20, 30 psu) and light intensities (50, 100 μmol photons m−2 s−1) by measuring the growth, pigment content, chlorophyll fluorescence, and soluble sugar content. The key results are the following: (1) P. yezoensis exhibited better growth under normal salinity (30 psu) compared to hyposaline conditions (20 psu). (2) Intermediate light intensity increased phycoerythrin content, ultimately enhancing thalli growth without significant changes to the contents of chlorophyll a and carotenoids. (3) Ocean acidification alleviated hyposaline stress by enhancing pigment production in P. yezoensis only at a salinity of 20 psu, highlighting the complex interplay of these environmental factors. Conventional hazard regression analyses frequently assume constant regression coefficients and scalar covariates. However, some covariate effects may vary with time. Moreover, medical imaging has become an increasingly important tool in screening, diagnosis, and prognosis of various diseases, given its information visualization and quantitative assessment. This study considers an additive hazards model with time-varying coefficients and imaging predictors to examine the dynamic effects of potential scalar and imaging risk factors for the failure of interest. We develop a two-stage approach that comprises the high-dimensional functional principal component analysis technique in the first stage and the counting process-based estimating equation approach in the second stage. In addition, we construct the pointwise confidence intervals for the proposed estimators and provide a significance test for the effects of scalar and imaging covariates. Simulation studies demonstrate the satisfactory performance of the proposed method. This paper considers a quantile latent factor-on-image (Q-LoI) regression model to comprehensively investigate the relationship between the latent factor of interest and scalar and imaging predictors at different quantiles. The latent factor is characterized by several manifest variables through a confirmatory factor analysis model and then regressed on scalar and imaging covariates. We propose a two-stage method to conduct statistical inference. The first stage extracts leading features from the imaging data through the functional principal component analysis (FPCA) method. The second stage incorporates the extracted imaging features into the Q-LoI regression to examine the impacts of scalar and imaging covariates on the latent factor under various quantiles. A fully Bayesian method with Markov Chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) algorithms is developed for parameter estimation. Simulation studies demonstrate the satisfactory performance of the proposed method. BACKGROUND: LncRNA STK4 antisense RNA 1 (STK4-AS1) has been identified as a potential biomarker associated with multiple cancers. We proposed that STK4-AS1 plays a role in the proliferation of osteosarcoma by regulating the cell cycle. METHODS: We compared the expression of STK4-AS1, p53, and p21 in osteosarcoma vs normal samples in clinical tissues and cell lines. We determined the effect of overexpression and knockdown of STK4-AS1 in p53 expressing osteosarcoma cells U2OS, p53 muted osteosarcoma cells MG63, and osteoblast cells hFOB on p53 and p21 expression and the cell viability. For U2OS and MG63, the cell cycle was analyzed and the expression of cyclin proteins was determined. We overexpressed p53 or p21 in STK4-AS1 overexpressed cells to explore the association of STK4-AS1 and p53 in U2OS. RESULTS: The STK4-AS1 expression was higher and p53 and p21 expression were lower in osteosarcoma tissue and cells than in their non-cancer counterparts. The expression of STK4-AS1 was negatively correlated with the expression of p53 or p21. Knockdown of STK4-AS1 in U2OS decreased the cell viability, increased cells in the G0/G1 phase, decreased cells in the S and G2/M phase, decreased expression of cyclin A and B, increased p53 and p21, and had no effect on cyclin D and cyclin E, while overexpression of STK4-AS1 did the opposes. Overexpression of p53 or p21 recovered some changes caused by STK4-AS1 overexpression in U2OS. MG63 expressed no p53 and the expression of p21, cyclin A, and cyclin B, cell viability, and cell cycle were not affected by altered STK4-AS1 levels. In hFOB cells, the expression of p53 and p21 was decreased and the cell viability was increased when STK4-AS1 was overexpressed, but they were not affected when STK4-AS1 was knocked down. CONCLUSION: LncRNA STK4-AS1 promoted the cell cycle of osteosarcoma cells by inhibiting p53 expression. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The golden tide, a large biomass bloom of the brown macroalgae Sargassum horneri, occurs yearly in the Yellow Sea, where it causes enormous economic and ecologic losses. To investigate the response of S. horneri to global warming and eutrophication, S. horneri was cultured under six conditions of varying temperature combinations (20 and 24 °C) and nitrogen levels (5, 30, and 300 μM). The growth, photosynthetic performance, pigment content, and contents of soluble protein were assessed. The growth of S. horneri followed an increasing trend with increasing N concentration at ambient temperature. Elevated temperatures had an inhibitory effect on growth and photosynthesis in S. horneri, which was further enhanced by eutrophication. This suggests that in the globally warming environment of the future, eutrophication may reduce the frequency and scale of gold tide outbreaks during the hot season. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
