COVID-19 played a significant role in the spread of telework worldwide, changing people’s lives and behaviour. The paper aims to identify how teleworking affected the sustainable behaviour of employees during the COVID-19 pandemic. The research design applies a multi-method approach, combining systematic and comparative scientific literature analysis and a semi-structured interview. The authors of the paper present the theoretical conceptual model, which illustrates links between teleworking during the COVID-19 pandemic and the sustainable behaviour of employees. The results of empirical research revealed that teleworking during the COVID-19 pandemic changed employee behaviour in economic, environmental and social dimensions. Positive changes were identified due to reduced commuting and shopping; decreased costs for transport, food, clothing, and beauty services; better access to healthy and nutritious food; better opportunities for professional development. On the contrary, costs for home energy and household waste increased. Adverse effects on employees’ physical and mental health have been identified due to teleworking and COVID-19. Despite the identified negative effects, employees would like to continue teleworking even after the pandemic.

Sustainable agriculture and active collaboration between farmers are important concepts that have a significant impact on the development of sustainable agriculture, in striving for social and economic development, as well as supporting the reduction of impact to environment. Based on a systematic and comparative analysis, this study highlights the role of collaboration towards developing sustainable agriculture. The overall results imply that more active farmers collaboration requires more active sharing of experience, knowledge and information through meetings or seminars by creating an information portal or platform. These measures could lead to more qualitative communication, more open information sharing, mutual trust and risk reduction, which would ensure the development of sustainable agriculture.

During the past years, sustainability has become an idea of organisational development. There is a growing trend to focus more not only on yield and economic profit but also on the care for the environment and contribution to the social balance, simultaneously delivering economic, social, and environmental benefits. This paper aims to determine how employee voice can lead to a more sustainable organisation by examining the gap between employee preferences and the current situation. The quantitative method in the form of a survey was used to examine the role of employee voice in the journey towards a more sustainable organisation across different sociodemographic characteristics. Four-hundred-and-twelve complete responses from Lithuanian employees representing different business and public sector organisations were used for analysis. The results of empirical research revealed a significant gap between the employee voice (importance of sustainable behaviour) regarding economic, social and environmental issues and the manifested corresponding sustainable behaviour. The largest interval in values of the employee voice and the current situation was determined in the groups of sustainable environmental behaviour and sustainable economic behaviour.

There is an increasing focus on bridging human behaviour and attitudes towards sustainability. This article focuses on the factors that influence sustainable behaviour of working people. Based on a systematic and comparative analysis of scientific literature, the authors of the paper present the theoretical conceptual model, which illustrates sustainable behaviour. The aim of the empirical research is to examine how employees relate to sustainable behaviour across generations, genders and different modes of education through economic, environmental and social domains. A quantitative method in the form of a survey was selected to capture individual employee attitudes and actions regarding sustainable behaviour. A total of 412 complete responses from Lithuanian employees were used for data analysis. The results of empirical research revealed a significant relationship between gender, generation and education, and sustainable employee behaviour.

To ensure the development of sustainability, the Europe Union (EU) set the goal of becoming a climate-neutral economy by 2050. The EU's ambitious new target cannot be achieved without the involvement of all modes of transport in order to reduce emissions. According to it, the development of inland waterway transport is a key to ensuring sustainability. Calculations proving the benefits of developing the use of inland waterway transport for ensuring sustainability using the example of the Republic of Lithuania were carried out in this paper. Namely, the calculation of the benefit from the transfer of part of the cargo flow from the busy highway A1 Kaunas–Klaipeda to Neman River (inland waterway of international importance E41). Modeling and detailed comparison using the method of calculating the impact on the main external costs (accidents, air pollution, climate change, noise, habitat damage, congestion) showed that external costs are lower when transporting cargo by river. Increasing the barge capacity from 1000 t to 1800 t reduces the external cost of climate change by 25%. Moreover, replacing diesel with liquefied natural gas can reduce the external costs of climate change by 15% to 25%. The greatest effect is achieved by reducing the level of noise, congestion, and safety. It is possible to enlarge the positive effect by using energy generated by solar or wind power plants for electric-powered ships. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Logistics plays an important role in various fields. In this case agriculture is not an exception. The discussed branch of agriculture in this article is dairy farming. The importance of logistics in dairy sector is undeniable. The main participants in dairy sector are milk producers, dairy cooperatives and milk processing plants. The main challenges related to raw milk transportation in dairy cooperatives and the possibilities to solve them are presented in this article. It is important to identify the main challenges in raw milk transportation and find ways to solve problems that arise in order to avoid losses of raw milk and ensure a more efficient path of raw milk from milk producers to the finished production. The authors of the article present a theoretical model of raw milk transportation in dairy cooperatives improvement, in the presented model not only the problematic aspects in raw milk transportation are pointed out, but also possible technological and innovative solutions are provided. After applying a questionnaire survey and a semi-structured interview, the results of an empirical research, that confirmed the existence of challenges in raw milk transportation identified in the theoretical part, are presented. During the past few decades, there has been a growing interest and need for logistics businesses to become more environmentally friendly in their operations, products and services. Summarizing scientific literature analysis, it could be stated, that Green logistics is defined as a good management practice that promotes the preservation of the environment and the application of green practices to mitigate the environmental impact of logistics operations by reducing CO2 emissions, noise, conserving natural resources, and so on. The aim of the article is to present a model for implementing green logistics principles. Research methodology includes comparative analysis and synthesis of scientific literature, modelling. The authors of the paper present theoretical model of green logistics principles implementation that takes into account of the stakeholders for green logistics principles application, green logistics initiatives and practices, stages of green logistics implementation, and finally implementing benefits. The application of the principles of green logistics in logistics companies is not only in the interests of the environment itself, but the need comes from the society, suppliers, national government and politicians, business partners and investors. Theoretical model depicts green logistics activities such as green transport, green packaging, green warehousing, green logistics data management, waste management, which represent a wide range of practices of application of green logistics principles. A company that has implemented green logistics principles would clearly benefit and improve its activity by improving the company's image, obtaining a financial return on investment, meeting government environmental requirements, increasing supply chain efficiency, reducing risk, improving investor and partner relations, and suppliers and consumers and increase their competitiveness in the market. Reducing the harmful effects on the environment and increasing the expression of sustainable development principles is one of the most topical challenges all around the world. Given the importance of logistics for the economy and the growing concern for the environment, the purpose of this article was to reveal a green logistics (GL) practice framework for sustainable development. Based on a systematic and comparative analysis of the scientific literature, the authors present a theoretical conceptual model for applying GL practices to sustainable development. In order to assess the expression of GL practices and their determinants in Lithuanian transport and logistics services companies, a quantitative questionnaire survey was conducted. Descriptive statistics, correlation, and regression analyses were used to analyze the data. The results made it possible to identify GL areas such as green transportation, green warehousing, green management, sustainable waste management, and the prevailing GL practices in Lithuania: "Eco-driving", "Optimization of transport routes", and "Optimization of transport cargo distribution". The factors that most encouraged the application of GL practices in the studied companies were: legal regulation and policies, requirements of business partners, service users, customers and society, awareness of the company's top management, and corporate culture focused on environmental conservation and sustainable development. The sharing economy enables the sustainable development of tourism and at the same time contributes to social well-being and economic growth. It also helps to reduce negative impact on the environment and society, and at the same time reduces costs. The purpose of this study is to find out how the sharing economy can contribute to the development of sustainable tourism. This article is intended to identify the opportunities and benefits of the sharing economy in the tourism sector and to describe the impact of the sharing economy on the travel and tourism sector. To achieve this goal, a systematic scientific analysis of literature and quantitative research methods was applied. Seeking development of sustainable tourism, the authors present a theoretical conceptual model that illustrates the contribution of the sharing economy through benefits and factors influencing sharing economy perspectives in tourism. Empirical research was conducted based on factors influencing sharing economy perspectives in tourism transportation services as one of the sharing economy areas. Analysis of the empirical research results showed that the most important factors influencing the respondents' choices of the ORSC transport sharing platform were price, general approach and comfort. Sustainable medical tourism is an emergent and growing business worldwide, combining different and very specific purposes from pleasurable travel to sometimes-stressful services of health care. Lithuania can boast of medical technologies and the professionalism of doctors, but this is not enough to compete in the field of sustainable medical tourism. In this situation, cooperation is very significant in sustainable medical tourism. This research investigates a conceptual framework for cooperation possibilities in sustainable medical tourism. Based on a systematic and comparative analysis of scientific literature, the authors of this paper present the conceptual model illustrating the dissemination of sustainable medical tourism through cooperation. The overall results imply that facilitators' cooperation perspectives in sustainable medical tourism should be highly beneficial for participants and medical tourists. The basis for the improvement of cooperation is communication, contact development, the form of work organization, coordination of work, sharing of knowledge and experience. Cooperation in this particular field determines the role of tourism development, but it is concluded that cooperation in this area is not developed well. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
