We present an 11.8‐inch 2D/3D switchable OLED display with high resolution, large viewable space, low crosstalk & moire, and smooth motion parallax. It allows people to move freely to watch the HD 3D effects without causing significant discomfort. It is based on WOLED+CF panel, using pixel island design and virtual mosaic continuous light surface technology. By detecting the human eye position and matching the corresponding sub‐pixel control algorithm, the overall display power consumption can be effectively reduced by ~60%. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

A novel approach was used in this paper to achieving high resolution of organic light emitting diode (OLED) display by ink‐jet printing (IJP) method. In our work, a structure of line bank with two layers was utilized, in which the bottom and top layers were designed for pixel definition and ink restriction, respectively. As a result, the resolution of our OLED display reached 537 pixels per inch (PPI). The low power consumption of RLCDs has significant advantages over traditional display solutions, making it a competitive candidate for next‐generation green displays. However, in some cases, improper design may cause the RLCD to turn yellowish, causing display distortion. To solve this, we proposed a series of methods to solve such color cast problems. In this paper, the reflectance associated with the phase state between the circular polarizer and the liquid crystal has been adjusted by liquid crystal to decrease this color cast. By redesigning the liquid crystal parameters, the color deviation has been successfully improved. In quantum dot color filter (QDCF) LCD blue backlight is converted to red/green light separately by red/green quantum dot materials. In cell polarizer is necessary due to the depolarization of quantum dot material. WGP is more promising as in cell polarizer. Therefore it is particularly important to insure the transmittance of blue light as high as possible. In the article, the stacks of WGP and the upper and lower layers were designed to improve the transmittance of blue light. WGP with the upper and lower layers by chemical vapor deposition was fabricated by using nano‐imprinting lithography. The blue light transmittance of WGP in the panel without the upper and lower layers was about 24%. We optimized the design of thin film without changing the structure of WGP to make the transmittance to be increased to 40%. To integrate the function of finger‐print recognition within the OLED display panel, a light‐shield (LS) metal layer is incorporated underneath the buffer layer to form fingerprint image on the sensor based on the principle of puncture‐forming picture. Since the LS metal layer is underneath the LTPS TFT, it has some impact on the IV performance of the p‐type LTPS TFT. It has been shown that the floating LS layer causes the kink effect on the output characteristics curves of the p‐type TFT. Upon putting bias on the LS layer, the threshold voltage (Vth) shifting has been observed as well as the eliminating of the kink effect caused by the floating LS layer. The Vth shifting effect may be explained by the substrate bias effect. The biased LS layer may increase the uniformity of the threshold voltage throughout the whole panel, gives better image quality.
