Abstract

The article considers the possibility of using thermoelectric dehumidifiers in microclimate systems for livestock premises. The advantages of dehumidifiers based on thermoelectric modules in comparison with compressor and adsorption units are shown. A block diagram of a thermoelectric dehumidifier designed to operate in agricultural production conditions is presented. The heat exchangers of the cold and hot circuits, as well as the electric fan, form a single structure and are installed in premises in which it is necessary to dehumidify the air. The dehumidification process in a thermoelectric unit is shown in the I-d diagram of humid air. A method for calculating a standard-sized range of thermoelectric units for air cooling (dehumidification) in agricultural premises has been developed. Provisions presented the method that allows determining the thermal and structural parameters of the main components when designing a thermoelectric unit.

14. Study of the Oxolin antiviral drug effect for the improvement of potato seed material during in vitro cultivation

Abstract

The article presents an analysis of the potato breeding problems in Russia which are associated with the low phytosanitary state of potato seed material infected with viral and bacterial diseases, as a result, it is necessary to carry out its improvement and the use of Russian varieties. Experiments were conducted in the laboratory of plant microclonal propagation according to the methodological recommendations for improvement and accelerated propagation of seed potatoes. The results of research on refining the technology of seed potato improvement by adding the Oxolin antiviral drug to the standard nutrient medium MS; its optimal concentrations for obtaining the largest number of uninfected plants of the studied varieties were identified. For potato varieties Liga, Hussar, and Real, the optimal concentration was 20 mg/l of Oxolin, while in the varieties Aurora, Real, and Sirenevy tuman, the concentration was 30 mg/l. Therefore, it is necessary to search for antiviral drugs with an alternative mechanism of action which remains very relevant and practically significant. The research results obtained in this work can be applied both to optimize the cultivation regime of potato microclones in vitro and to enhance the productive process of the uninfected microplants.

15. Using redundancy methods to build a maintenance and repair system in Burundi

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to ensure the maintenance and Repair system’s functioning in Burundi using redundancy methods, which include the organization of warehouse stocks of repair kits (units, repair kits) formed on the basis of the received results from studies on the damageability of structural elements of buses in Burundi. This approach will simultaneously ensure that all maintenance and repair requests are met when first needed, reduce vehicle downtime while waiting for repairs, and thus increase the efficiency of using ground transport and technological means. For the practical implementation of the task, a methodology for the strategy’s optimization for managing the stocks of circulating units in the conditions of Burundi on the basis of an analysis of various sources of literature and a method for size’s calculation of the circulating fund of units, spare parts and materials using modern mathematical models were developed. Costs of its creation, maintenance and replenishment in the context of Burundi were also estimated. As a result, it was shown after calculations that in the example of the OTRACO vehicle transport company it is possible to reduce the probability of bus downtime due to gearbox failure to 5%. The proposed method of redundancy with repair kits, especially in the conditions of Burundi, has an invaluable property; when it is implemented, the technical condition of buses, even despite the long service life, has a clear tendency to be improved.

Abstract

The main questions of ensuring reliability of cars by methods of redundancy are considered. The problematic nature of reliability factor is confirmed by the analysis. Redundancy method is reviewed as responsible for solution of the problem when opportunities offered at every stage of “car life time” are used. Three basic principles of repair arrangement based on redundancy method are presented. These principles serve to bring into effect working capacity inherent in a design. The new redundancy techniques with use of repair kits is offered. The feasibility of integrated redundancy system is developed.

Abstract

Model reduction by moment matching for linear time-invariant (LTI) models is a reduction technique that has a clear interpretation in the Laplace domain. In particular, for the multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) LTI case, Krylov subspace methods aim at matching the transfer-function matrix (and possibly its derivatives) of the reduced-order model to the transfer-function matrix of the full-order model along so-called tangential directions at desired interpolation points. A straightforward application of time-domain moment matching to MIMO LTI models does not result in such a match in the transfer-function matrix. In this paper, we derive a relation between the MIMO transfer-function matrices of the full- and the reduced-order models that follows from the application of time-domain moment matching on MIMO LTI models. This is subsequently exploited to formulate conditions on the parameters of time-domain moment matching under which the transfer-function matrix is matched along tangential directions, thus ensuring consistency with classical Krylov subspace methods.

Abstract

Long-range correlations are often used as diagnostic markers in physiological research. Due to the limitations of conventional techniques, their characterizations are typically carried out with alternative approaches, such as the detrended fluctuation analysis (DFA). In our previous works, we found EEG-related markers of the blood–brain barrier (BBB), which limits the penetration of major drugs into the brain. However, anesthetics can penetrate the BBB, affecting its function in a dose-related manner. Here, we study two types of anesthesia widely used in experiments on animals, including zoletil/xylazine and isoflurane in optimal doses not associated with changes in the BBB. Based on DFA, we reveal informative characteristics of the electrical activity of the brain during such doses that are important for controlling the depth of anesthesia in long-term experiments using magnetic resonance imaging, multiphoton microscopy, etc., which are crucial for the interpretation of experimental results. These findings provide an important informative platform for the enhancement and refinement of surgery, since the EEG-based DFA analysis of BBB can easily be used during surgery as a tool for characterizing normal BBB functions under anesthesia. Abstract

Disturbances in iterative learning control (ILC) may be amplified if these vary from one iteration to the next, and reducing this amplification typically reduces the convergence speed. The aim of this paper is to resolve this trade-off and achieve fast convergence, robustness and small converged errors in ILC. A nonlinear learning approach is presented that uses the difference in amplitude characteristics of repeating and varying disturbances to adapt the learning gain. Monotonic convergence of the nonlinear ILC algorithm is established, resulting in a systematic design procedure. Abstract

In article results of research of versions of offered types of heaters on the basis of products from the modified fibers for designing energy efficient building enclosures residential high-rise buildings are presented. Traditional building materials (reinforced concrete, brick, wood) are not able to provide the required value of thermal resistance in areas with a temperate and harsh Russia climate in a single-layered enclosing structure. It can be achieved in a multi-layered enclosing structure, where the decisive role is played by new insulating materials with high thermal properties. In general, modern design solutions for external walls are based on the use of new effective thermal insulation materials with the use of the latest technology. The relevance of the proposed topic is to research thermoinsulation properties of new mineral heaters. Theoretical researches of offered heaters from mineral wool on slime-colloidal binder, bentocolloid and microdispersed binders are carried out. In addition, theoretical studies were carried out with several types of facade systems. Comprehensive studies were conducted on the resistance to heat transfer, resistance to vapor permeation and air permeability. According to the received data, recommendations on the use of insulation types depending on the number of storeys of buildings are proposed.

Abstract

The nature of carbonate deposition can cause the development of unique geological features such as cavities and vugs called karsts. Encountering karsts while drilling can lead to serious consequences. To improve drilling safety in intervals of karstification, it is important to detect karsts as early as possible. The use of state-of-the-art geophysical methods cannot guarantee early or even real-time detection of karsts or karstification zones. In this paper we demonstrate, based on an analysis of 20 wells drilled in karstified carbonates in the Barents Sea, that a karst that is dangerous for drilling is often surrounded by one or more other karstification objects, thus forming a karstification zone. These zones can be detected in real time through certain patterns in drillstring mechanics and mud flow measurements. They can serve as indicators of intervals with a high likelihood of encountering karsts. The identified patterns corresponding to various karstification objects are summarized in a table and can be used by drilling engineers. Apart from that, these patterns can also be utilized for training machine learning algorithms for the automatic detection of karstification zones. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
