Liquid waste of Cr6+ is often produced by nickel ore mining companies, one of which is CV. Unaha Bakti Persada has a Cr6+ concentration of 0.78 ppm which has not yet reached the 0.1 ppm quality standard, so it is necessary to treat Cr6+ waste using an in vitro phytoremediation technique for water hyacinth media of E. azurea and E. crassipes. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of phytoremediation method, the level of damage to water hyacinth and the rate of growth of the water hyacinth plant. The study used an in vitro phytoremediation method for water hyacinth media E. crassipes and E. azurea for 15 days. The results showed that the effectiveness of water hyacinth E. azurea was 87% able to reduce the concentration of Cr6+ 0.78 ppm to 0.1 ppm within 15 days, while E. crassipes and the combination of E. crassipes and E. azurea were 64%. The rate of water hyacinth damage to Cr6+ wastewater was faster in E. azurea, namely 40% compared to E. crassipes by 27% and the combination of E. crassipes and E. azurea by 13%. The growth of water hyacinth in Cr6+ wastewater was faster in the combination of E. Crassipes and E. azurea, namely plant weight 45%, root length 38%, plant height 23% compared to E. azurea, namely plant weight 35%, root length 32%, height plant 17%, and E. crassipes, namely plant weight 45%, root length 38%, plant height 7%. One of the suggested blast disease management approaches is integrated disease control, which combines cultivation practices, resistant cultivars, and fungicide applications as appropriate. Planting resistant varieties are the most costeffective option, but the resistance is quickly broken down over seasons and areas due to the existence of many races. Planting resistant varieties should therefore be accompanied by other control methods like biological control techniques. Selecting varieties with resistant gene(s) that match the pathogen race in the field is recommended. It is therefore critical to monitor the race composition in the area. This study aimed to determine races of Pyricularia oryzae isolated from different subdistricts in Pinrang, Bone, Maros, and Gowa regencies and the potential of rhizosphere fungal isolates to inhibit the growth of three dominant fungal blast races. Pyricularia oryzae was isolated on rice that showed specific symptoms of blast disease. Blast pathogen was grouped into races using 7 rice differential variety sets: Asahan, Cisokan, IR64, Krueng Aceh, Cisadane, Cisanggarung, and Kencana Bali. Observations were carried out 7 days after inoculation based on the standard evaluation system according to IRRI. The antagonists were isolated from the rhizosphere of healthy rice plants, followed by the dual culture test on Potato Dextrose Agar (PDA). A total of 42 isolates were collected from blast-infected rice, and 14 isolates were obtained from the rice rhizosphere. Based on the reactions of 7 differential varieties, a total of 18 races were determined. Races 000 and 001 were dominated with every 6 isolates, followed by races 003 and 020 with 5 isolates each, and races 033 and 013 with 4 and 3 isolates respectively. The other races were found only every two or single isolate. Dual culture using fungal rhizosphere isolates revealed that five isolates had inhibition above 75% against 3 representative races of P. oryzae. Based on the findings, it is suggested that the variation of P. oryzae races in 4 regencies in South Sulawesi is significantly high, and dominated by 2 races. Endophytic bacteria derived from plant roots have the potential as a trigger for germination and plant growth with the ability to produce phytohormone, nitrogen binding, as a phosphate solvent, and are able to produce various secondary metabolite compounds that play a role in increasing plant resistance to various disease disorders. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of endophytic bacteria in spurring aromatic local rice seed germination so that it is expected to provide information for relevant parties in efforts to support environmentally friendly sustainable agriculture. The test method carried out by immersing the seeds in a suspension of endophytic bacterial isolates with a bacterial density of 108 CFU mL-1 for 24 hours as a comparison (control) used seeds soaked in sterile aquadest. Endophytic bacterial isolates used were derived from the roots of aromatic local rice plants in Central Sulawesi that had been isolated and tested for their ability in previous studies. Ten isolates were found, namely RKBK1, RKBK4, RKBL6, RKBU1, RKBU5, RKGU6, RKGU11, RKLE3, RKLE6 and RKLE7. The results showed that all endophytic bacterial isolates had the potential to promote rice seed germination. The average percentage of normal sprouts produced is ≥ 84%. RKGU 11 isolates gave the best results on observations of the percentage of normal sprouts of 97.33%, the length of the plumula at 7.67 cm and the length of the radicles at 9.80 cm. The use of PGPR is an alternative way to reduce the use of chemical fertilizers and their impact on the environment which can improve soil quality and plant productivity. This research aims to study the effect and potential of PGPR on increasing the growth of local aromatic rice plants. 17 rhizobacteria isolates obtained from the local aromatic rice rhizosphere which then were morphologically characterized (size, shape, colony edge and elevation) and biochemically characterized using the Gram and Catalase test. While 17 isolates could produce indole-3-acetic acid, 3 isolates (KBU22, KLE19, and RKGU10) were positive for producing Hydrogen Cyanide. Inoculant PGPR isolates showed significant results in promoting the germination compared to control. KLE25 isolate was superior in all parameters of plant growth in vitro although it was not significantly different from others. PGPR isolates from aromatic local rice rhizosphere can be exploited into biostimulant, biofertilizers and biocontrol agents in enhancing plant growth and attractive strategies to subtitute synthetic fertilizers which is environmental friendly and low-cost. The present study was initiated to determine whether isolates from soil and roots of soybean plants can express nitrogenase activity when grown in the absence of plant host. The study was conducted to answer the question “can benefit gained by” the interaction between Actinomycetes and Rhizobium symbiosis with legume. Thirty-five isolates identified as Rhizobium and twenty-one Actinomycetes were isolated from the rhizosphere of soybean plants and identified by morphological character, biochemical content identified. Fifty-six isolates were tested for their capabilities of N2 fixation and siderophore production. The isolated rhizobacteria were grown in N-free media, and twelve of them showed a good growth on the Burk’s N-free media. Almost all strains produced siderophores; however, the production level was very low, and only the strain AK 10 released considerable amounts of this metabolite. One strain of Actinomycetes was selected to test their interactions with Rhizobium. Coinoculation of Actinomycetes and Rhizobium produced synergic benefits on plant growth and get protection from the production of siderophore. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
