Before reassessing the reliability condition of an offshore jacket platform, it is essential to understand the behaviours that the offshore platform exhibits while it is at sea. This paper presents the response of the offshore jacket platform as its ultimate strength under operating and extreme loads. Malaysian waters' metocean data from a 1-year return period (operating condition) and a 100-year return period (storm condition) are used to predict the four-legs jacket platform's behaviour by evaluating its ultimate strength. Also, two values of minimum design water depth (WD) of 105.9 m and maximum design WD of 115.4 m are chosen. The SACS software, a nonlinear finite element analysis software, is used to calculate the jacket platform's ultimate strength, called pushover analysis. For instance, the pushover analysis result will determine the Reserve Strength Ratio (RSR) as an approach to examining the offshore jacket platform's ultimate strength. Responses to the offshore jacket platform are base shear design, base shear ultimate, rotation, displacement, and moment, which illustrate the behaviour of the offshore jacket platform. There are eight combinations of environmental load directions are applied, to obtain the structure's weakest part. It is found that 45° is the critical direction for maximum design WD, while 90° is the critical direction for minimum design WD. Currently, empty fruit bunch (EFB) is the main biomass source to fuel biomass power plant and as co-firing fuel with coal at the existing coal-fired power plants in Malaysia. However, these power plants frequently face insufficient EFB supply, which may contribute to load losses. Energy crops a new source of biomass, are introduced to replace or substitute the shortage of biomass supply. Planting energy crops worldwide ensures a sufficient and cleaner fuel supply for power generation. Positive characteristics of the energy crop are including calorific value, carbon contents and density. Higher value of these parameters indicating the good quality of the energy crop. While, the negative characteristics of energy crop are including moisture content and ash content. Higher value of these two parameters indicating lower quality of energy crop. One of the studied energy crops was Leucaena leucocephala (Petai Belalang), which showed better quality than EFB, based on calorific value, moisture content, ash content and density. It is naturally grown, typically near rivers in Peninsular Malaysia. Furthermore, it can be easily planted and matures in about six months for harvesting.

Water quality is crucial to the health of the prawn industry in Malaysia, where unpredictable weather is common. However, many breeders still monitor the water quality manually, which limits their capacity to respond quickly to changing conditions. To address this, an automated system was developed using Internet of Things (IoT) technology to continually monitor and control the pH level and temperature of the saltwater. Sensors are connected to a LabVIEW-equipped data acquisition, and a servo motor operates the probe of the sensors. The proposed system employs ThingSpeak software to display real-time water quality data and has a system of alarms that can be activated to notify the user of any issues. An acid or alkali solution is pumped into the tank using a submersible water pump to regulate the pH level, and a fuzzy logic controller is integrated into the submersible water pump to control the valve for the solutions. From the results, the systems managed to measure the maximum value of the temperature which is 33.86°C meanwhile the minimum value is 30.6 °C. These temperature values are in the desirable range of temperature for prawn which is between 25 °C to 35 °C. Hence, this system depicts that the water is a good temperature for the prawn. Furthermore, the data transfer through wireless via ThingSpeaks' website is the same as the data transfer through mobile's app. Hence, this prove that the system is able to deliver the water quality data accurately and can be monitored remotely. The process of identifying photos from a sketch has been explored by many researchers, and the performance of the identification process is almost perfect, particularly for viewed sketches. Suspect identification based on sketches is one of the applications in forensic science. To identify the suspect using these kinds of methods, a face sketch is required. Hence, the methods require skilled artists to sketch the suspect based on descriptions provided by eyewitnesses. However, the skills of these artists are different from one another, which results in different rendered sketches. Therefore, this work attempts to propose a new identification method based only on forensic face-written descriptions. To investigate the feasibility of the proposed method, this study has evaluated the performance of some text-tophoto generators on both viewed and forensic datasets using three different models of GAN which are SAGAN, DFGAN, and DCGAN. Then, the generated images are compared to the real photo contained within those datasets to evaluate how well the proposed method recognizes the faces. The results demonstrated that the recognition rate for the generated photos by the DCGAN models is better than the other two models which achieve a 38.3% recognition rate at rank-10 for mugshot identification. Fat extraction is a crucial aspect of diagnostic analysis in T1-weighted magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) images. However, the accuracy is affected by image inhomogeneity. Inhomogeneity refers to variations in signal intensity across an image, which can be caused by uneven magnetic fields or abnormal fluids in MRI image. This study uses fuzzy C-means (FCM) algorithm for fat region extraction. However, FCM is struggle with regions of similar intensity. The objective of this study is to propose a method for inhomogeneity correction using adaptive disk structure element morphological (ADSEM) approach. This rectifies the impact of inhomogeneity-induced intensity variations. The method is then integrated with FCM for fat extraction. This approach overcome FCM's intensity similarity limitation, enhancing fat extraction accuracy. Comparative assessments highlight the integrated ADSEM-FCM method's superiority over FCM. The quantitative assessment for proposed method in term of accuracy, recall, precision and F1 score is 0.9246, 0.9777, 0.7740, and 0.8526 respectively. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The Uncaria Cordata as corrosion inhibitors for mild steel (MS) in a 1.0 M hydrochloric acid (HCl) solution. The EIS, polarization, and LPR measurements were used as experimental measurements to confirm the anti-corrosion performances of the Uncaria Cordata at room temperature. The corrosion inhibitors, even at a low dosage range, achieved inhibition efficiencies to a maximum of 97.0% for 400 ppm of Uncaria Cordata. Surface morphology via AFM and SEM/EDX was carried out to validate the presence of protected film and an optimum concentration of each extract above the metal's surface in the corrosive acidic solution. The ΔGoads value − 19.70 kJ/mol proved a spontaneous merge of physical and chemical adsorption by the extract compounds at the interface of MS and the HCl solution. DFT was governed to accommodate the elevated inhibition efficiency upshot obtained by the electrochemical tests and recommend a synergy mechanism for most of the adsorbed active compounds in Uncaria Cordata inhibitors with the MS surface. Monte Carlo simulation indicates three active compounds, namely 1, 2, and 8, found to have parallel adsorption on MS. Early childhood education and care services for children under four have become an essential societal concern in recent decades. Childcare services that are both affordable and of high quality may help to reconcile work and family life, promoting labour market participation and gender equality. Notably, there have been instances where childcare centres have failed to meet the government's minimum service requirements. As a result, the objective of this study is to determine the impact of perceived trust and emotional satisfaction on parent behavioural intentions in childcare services. The research framework on perceived trust and emotional satisfaction in childcare services was established utilising the Stimulus Organism Response (SOR) theory and Expectancy Confirmation Theory (ECT). This study selected a purposive sampling technique through the distribution of questionnaires to childcare providers. The study managed to collect responses from 364 respondents which were analysed using the Partial Least Square (PLS) Structural Equation Modelling approach. The result showed that perceived trust and emotional satisfaction were supported with behavioural intention. Apart from that, the mediation role of emotional satisfaction significantly impacted perceived trust and intention. Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is caused by a corona virus infection. Anyone from anywhere in the world can be harmed by COVID-19, with the majority displaying mild to severe respiratory symptoms and others developing critical illness and dying. According to the Health Ministry, as of August 31, 2022, there had been 4,744,543 domestic and 38,081 imported Covid-19 cases, with 36,216 fatalities recorded in Malaysia. Coronavirus, like any other human, is dangerous to indigenous peoples. However, getting them vaccinated right away is much more difficult. Using data from a survey of 109 tribe members from Generation Z of indigenous communities born between 1997 and 2012 in Malaysia, this article attempted to investigate the moderating effect of tribal leader endorsement on the link between attitude and intention to accept vaccination. The study discovered that tribal leader endorsement significantly increased the strength of the correlations between attitude toward vaccination and intention to adopt vaccination, indicating that tribe members with a favorable attitude toward vaccination are more likely to accept vaccination when they believe in the tribal leader's positive support for vaccination than when they do not. This study provides early insight into tribal chiefs' influence on tribe members, which may be useful in carrying out the National COVID-19 Immunization Program and advancing vaccine acceptance among indigenous peoples, which would otherwise be difficult. This study also suggests that tribal leaders and Generation Z could play a role in accelerating government initiatives such as healthcare, education, and employment for the indigenous community through digital literacy.
