This article studies the reality of developing party members among students at universities and colleges in Dong Nai province. Reality shows that the Provincial Party Committee has always directed the development of Party members among students and has recorded positive results with effective implementation methods and models. However, developing party members among students also has limitations that need to be overcome; the rate of party members among students in Dong Nai currently needs to be more modest than the potential. The article proposes solutions to promote party development among university and college students in Dong Nai province.

The hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection, a global health concern, can lead to chronic liver disease. The HCV core antigen (HCVcAg), a viral protein essential for replication, offers a cost-effective alternative to HCV RNA testing, particularly in resource-limited settings. This review explores the significance of HCVcAg, a key protein in the hepatitis C virus, examining its structure, function, and role in the viral life cycle. It also evaluates its clinical use in diagnosis and treatment monitoring, comparing its performance to the standard HCV RNA assay using data from PubMed and Google Scholar. HCVcAg assays show high pooled sensitivity (93.5%) and pooled specificity (99.2%) compared to HCV RNA assays, correlating closely (r = 0.87) with HCV RNA levels. Hence, HCVcAg testing offers a cost-effective way to diagnose active HCV infections and monitor treatment, especially in resource-limited settings, but its sensitivity can vary and standardization is needed. HCVcAg also predicts liver disease progression and assesses liver damage risk, aiding patient management. It helps to identify patients at risk for fibrosis or carcinoma, making it vital in hepatitis C care. HCVcAg testing can expand access to HCV care, simplify management, and contribute to global elimination strategies, especially in low- and middle-income countries. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The tight junction (TJ), a type of cell-cell junction, regulates the permeability of solutes across epithelial and endothelial cellular sheets and is believed to maintain cell polarity. However, recent studies have provided conflicting views on the roles of TJs in epithelial polarity. Membrane proteins, including occludin, claudin, and the junction adhesion molecule, have been identified as TJ components. TJs are predominantly found at the stratum granulosum and stratum corneum. Although it remains unclear whether the disruption of TJs is the cause or consequence of certain dental diseases, evidence suggests that TJ dysfunction may be a crucial factor in gingival epithelial barrier impairment and the progression of oral diseases. Bacterial infection is among the most specific factors we found that may contribute to the breakdown of the epithelial barrier formed by TJs in dental diseases. Bacteria and their products may weaken the epithelial barrier by directly destroying intercellular junctions or altering the expression of junctional proteins. Additionally, they may induce the production of inflammatory cytokines, which could lead to the downregulation of TJ proteins and, consequently, impair the epithelial barrier. This review introduces a novel perspective by exploring, for the first time, the role of TJs dysfunction in the breakdown of the oral epithelial barrier and its potential link to the progression of dental diseases such as gingivitis, periodontitis, Sjӧgren syndrome, and oral squamous cell carcinoma. Background Smoking among adolescents in schools is a major global public health concern. There is limited evidence regarding prevalence and associated factors in Vietnam. Objective To compare the prevalence of smoking and associated factors among in-school adolescents aged 13–17 years in Vietnam between 2013 and 2019. Methods Data were collected from two rounds of the national representative Vietnam Global School-based Student Health Survey (GSHS) conducted in 2013 (n = 3,331) and 2019 (n = 7,690). Logistic regression was used to identify the factors associated with tobacco and electronic cigarette smoking among in-school adolescents. Results There was a significant reduction in the prevalence of current smoking (water pipes and cigarettes) from 5.4% (95% CI: 4.0–7.2) in 2013 to 2.8% (95% CI: 2.2–3.6) in 2019. In 2019, 2.6% of the in-school adolescents reported having used electronic cigarette products 30 days prior to the survey. Factors associated with a significantly higher likelihood of current smoking status included gender, loneliness, suicidal ideation, sexual activity, truancy, and alcohol consumption. Similar patterns were observed for e-cigarettes. Conclusion Smoking among in-school adolescents in Vietnam decreased between 2013 and 2019. Follow-up studies are needed to further investigate causal factors so that future policies and communication programmes can be more effectively targeted to reduce smoking in adolescents.

Mobile repair vehicles play an indispensable role on the battlefield and are increasingly being improved to enhance their effectiveness. When moving to repair locations on the battlefield, they often tow trailers, which include power generator sets. In some cases, these generator sets are replaced by trailers to transport ammunition or carry wounded soldiers. The article proposes improvements to the suspension system on the generator trailers and discusses the impact of vehicle speed and random road roughness on the movement of the mobile repair vehicle-trailer combination before and after the improvements. A dynamic model of the multi-body system is constructed, with the towing vehicle being a three-axle truck. The random roughness profile of the road surface is determined from simulation results based on ISO 8068 standards. The equations of motion are established using Lagrange's method and solved through simulation using Matlab software. The results of the article indicate the oscillation of the mobile repair vehicle-trailer combination when traveling at speeds of 36 km/h and 54 km/h on road surfaces with random roughness levels of class D and class E. After the improvement of the suspension system on the generator trailers, smoother trailer motion is observed. The study has shown that the vertical oscillation amplitude of the trailer decreased by up to 18 %, while the oscillation speed decreased by as much as 40 %. The findings provide a basis for further improving the suspension system on generator trailers to minimize oscillations, which is crucial for replacing generator trailers with specialized trailers for transporting ammunition or wounded soldiers on the battlefield. This study delves into the influence of banks' governance and ownership structures on green lending. To examine this, we utilized the two-step system GMM and PCSE methods on the panel data of Vietnamese commercial banks spanning from 2010 to 2023. The findings suggest that board characteristics, precisely board size, board independence, and gender diversity, play a significant role in encouraging banks to provide green credit. The study highlights the importance of ownership structure in green lending. Banks with a high percentage of government ownership tend to fund more green projects, while foreign counterparts are reluctant to fund green finance. A mechanism test is also conducted to point out that banks' disclosure of their green loan commitments is an influential channel whereby corporate governance and ownership structure impact green loans. Additionally, this research finds that the issuance of the Green Loan Principles in 2018 can facilitate banks' governance of sustainable lending. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This paper investigates the mechanisms under which the transmission of CSR practices and values could be successfully attained in buyer‐supplier relationships, particularly in the context of garment supply chains that involve developing country suppliers. Examining the buyer‐supplier dyadic CSR transmission process through the lens of an inter‐organizational learning perspective rather than the traditional compliance‐based one, this study proposes four distinct CSR transmission modes: Monitoring – Compliance, Capacity building – Internalization, Demonstration – Adaptation, and Role modeling – Imitation. Notably, the findings reveal that without buyers' stringent CSR management techniques, CSR practices and values can still be successfully transmitted to suppliers with the aid of proper learning facilitators. Piezoelectric biomaterials can generate piezoelectrical charges in response to mechanical activation. These generated charges can directly stimulate bone regeneration by triggering signaling pathway that is important for regulating osteogenesis of cells seeded on the materials. On the other hand, mechanical forces applied to the biomaterials play an important role in bone regeneration through the process called mechanotransduction. While mechanical force and electrical charges are both important contributing factors to bone tissue regeneration, they operate through different underlying mechanisms. The utilizations of piezoelectric biomaterials have been explored to serve as self-charged scaffolds which can promote stem cell differentiation and the formation of functional bone tissues. However, it is still not clear how mechanical activation and electrical charge act together on such a scaffold and which factors play more important role in the piezoelectric stimulation to induce osteogenesis. In our study, we found Poly(l-lactic acid) (PLLA)-based piezoelectric scaffolds with higher piezoelectric charges had a more pronounced osteoinductive effect than those with lower charges. This provided a new mechanistic insight that the observed osteoinductive effect of the piezoelectric PLLA scaffolds is likely due to the piezoelectric stimulation they provide, rather than mechanical stimulation alone. This paper uses a fixed effects model and a fixed effects quantile regression to explore the relationship between government spending and poverty reduction in the 63 provinces of Vietnam from 2010 to 2020. Our study argues and finds that government spending plays a significant role in reducing the poverty rate in Vietnam. Furthermore, the paper shows that income per capita is a good proxy for the poverty rate. Given the influential role of government spending in reducing impoverishment, the study also finds that income inequality is a challenge to the Vietnamese government. It contributes to the literature on public finance in Vietnam and emerging markets. The type I phosphatidylinositol 4-phosphate 5-kinase (PIP5K) family produces the critical lipid regulator phosphatidylinositol 4,5-bisphosphate (PI(4,5)P2) in the plasma membrane (PM). Here, we investigated the potential role of PIP5Kγ, a PIP5K isoform, in the Hippo pathway. The ectopic expression of PIP5Kγ87 or PIP5Kγ90, two major PIP5Kγ splice variants, activated large tumor suppressor kinase 1 (LATS1) and inhibited Yes-associated protein (YAP), whereas PIP5Kγ knockdown yielded opposite effects. The regulatory effects of PIP5Kγ were dependent on its catalytic activity and the presence of Merlin and LATS1. PIP5Kγ knockdown weakened the restoration of YAP phosphorylation upon stimulation with epidermal growth factor or lysophosphatidic acid. We further found that PIP5Kγ90 bound to the Merlin's band 4.1/ezrin/radixin/moesin (FERM) domain, forming a complex with PI(4,5)P2 and LATS1 at the PM. Notably, PIP5Kγ90, but not its kinase-deficient mutant, potentiated Merlin–LATS1 interaction and recruited LATS1 to the PM. Consistently, PIP5Kγ knockdown or inhibitor (UNC3230) enhanced colony formation in carcinoma cell lines YAP-dependently. In addition, PIP5Kγ90 interacted with heat shock cognate 71-kDa protein (Hsc70), which also contributed to Hippo pathway activation. Collectively, our results suggest that PIP5Kγ regulates the Hippo–YAP pathway by forming a functional complex with Merlin and LATS1 at the PI(4,5)P2-rich PM and via interplay with Hsc70. Chromolaena odorata (C. odorata) (L.) R. King & H. Robinson is a perennial flowering shrub with diverse habitats, including crops, grasslands, and roadsides. This plant has been widely used in Vietnamese folk medicine for gastric ulcer treatment. Hence, the present study aimed to evaluate the acute toxicity and the anti-ulcer effect of the ethanol crude extract of C. odorata leaves and its fractions against the indomethacin-induced gastric ulcer model in mice, and investigate the chemical constituents of the most active fraction. According to in vivo results, the ethyl acetate residue with the highest anti-ulcer activity significantly reduced gastric lesions in the experimental mice model with an ulcer index of 0.73 ± 0.39 and a percentage inhibition of 26.92%. Thus, this fraction was chosen for further chemical investigation. Four pure compounds (1-4) were extracted and isolated by using chromatographic methods. Based on the nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, melting temperature, mass spectrometry analysis, and compared with the published literature, their structures were elucidated as 1-(4-hydroxy-3-methoxyphenyl)propane- 1,2-diol (1), kaempferol-7-O-α-L-rhamnopyranoside (2), naringenin-5,7-di-O-β-Dglucopyranoside (3), and rubrosterone (4). To our best knowledge, all of these compounds were isolated for the first time from C. odorata leaves. These findings contribute to providing scientific evidence for the traditional use and phytochemicals of C. odorata leaves. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Objective: This study aimed to identify the factors that influence follicular output rate (FORT) and follicle-to-oocyte index (FOI) among infertile Vietnamese women, as described by the Poseidon classification of poor responders. Methods: This cross-sectional analysis includes women who received IVF/ICSI treatment at Hue University Hospital, Vietnam, between January 2017 and December 2019. The study population was divided into four groups: Group 1 (age < 35, AFC ≥ 5 and AMH ≥ 1.2 ng/mL, number of oocytes retrieved in the previous cycle ≤ 9), group 2 (age ≥ 35; AFC ≥ 5 and AMH ≥ 1.2 ng/mL, number of oocytes retrieved in the previous cycle ≤ 9), group 3 (age < 35; AFC < 5 and/or AMH < 1.2 ng/mL) and group 4 (age ≥ 35; AFC < 5 and/or AMH < 1.2 ng/mL). All of the patients underwent controlled ovarian stimulation utilizing GnRH antagonist. Results: A total of 243 cases were recruited into groups 1 (n = 44), 2 (n = 33), 3 (n = 54), and 4 (n = 112). There were statistically significant differences between the four groups in terms of age, infertility type, menstrual cycle, body mass index (BMI) and waist-hip ratio (WHR), endocrine tests, and total retrieved oocytes (p 0.05). The average number of oocytes per participant was 7.27, with the highest number occurring in group 1 (10.77) and the lowest occurring in group 4 (5.59). There was a relationship between FORT and BMI (ß: − 0.146, p=0.039), FSH starting dose (ß: 0.146, p=0.030), and AMH (ß:0.166, p=0.015). No statistically significant correlation was detected between FOI and other variables. Conclusion: The starting dose of FSH for ovarian stimulation and AMH concentration were positively associated with FORT in individuals with a poor prognosis, whereas BMI was negatively correlated with FORT; No other parameters were found to correlate with FOI. Rising ocean temperature is a major driver of kelp forest decline worldwide and one that threatens to intensify over the coming decades. What is not particularly well understood are the mechanisms that drive loss and how they operate at differing life stages. This study aimed to establish an understanding of the effects of increasing temperature on the early developmental stages of the giant kelp, Macrocystis pyrifera. Sporulation was carried out across 10 temperature treatments from 9.5 to 26.2°C ± 0.2°C at approximately 2°C intervals. Spores were then incubated at these temperatures under a 20.3±1.7 μmol photons m-2 s-1, 16L:8D photoperiod for 5 days. Results indicate that spore release was positively correlated with increasing temperature, whereas an inverse trend was observed between temperature and the growth of germ-tube. The thermal threshold for spore and germling development was determined to be between 21.7°C and 23.8°C. Spore settlement was the most drastically effected developmental phase by increasing temperature. This study highlights the vulnerability of early life stages of M. pyrifera development to rising ocean temperature and has implications for modelling future distribution of this valuable ecosystem engineer in a changing ocean.
