Schiff base and their Fe (III), Cr (III) complexes stood vetted for Antioxidant, Anti-inflammatory activities and docking study. Mixed ligand complexes had strong antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Docking study of mixed ligand complexes reveals substantial binding affinity for COX2 and STAT3 receptors. Purpose - This study was carried out to ascertain parents' attitude about reading related activities of children, to discover parents' efforts for instilling the reading habit in their children, to understand the challenges faced by parents in inculcating reading habit in their children, and to suggest possible solutions to the parents' difficulties related to their children's reading habits. Design/Methodology - The research was conducted using the Survey method, with Focus Group Discussion used as the data collection tool. The research sample was 24 parents of pupils who were studying in the primary and secondary Marathi medium schools in Nashik district. An anonymous data was collected Qualitative descriptive analysis was carried out of the collected data. Findings - It was observed that parents knew that pleasure reading was important for the overall behavioral development of their children. However, less than half of them performed any substantial activities to instill the reading habit in their children. Children's excessive usage of the internet, time constraints, children's disinterest in reading, and parents' incognizance about the effective reading material were the main challenges faced. Originality/Value - This study is one of the first one of its kind in the Indian scenario. Uniquely collecting parents' real experiences through focus group interviews, this paper provides concrete solutions to the difficulties of parents in inculcating reading habits among their children. In this study, e-book research articles were reviewed which are published in various library science and nonlibrary science journals. Identifies facets and significant results of e-book research. For this review, literature on e-books published in English language, in 2016 was searched from various databases. The review finds that the focus of current research on e-books is on use. Themes such as e-book collection development and management; search and discovery are also paid more attention to. Use of e-books by children is emerging as a prominent area of e-book research. Biodiesel is a clean and sustainable fuel which has ability to replace diesel fuel used in power generation as well in transportation. This article explores Terminalia belerica Robx seed oil as an important bioresource for biodiesel synthesis. Extraction of terminalia oil from dried seeds and degumming of crude oil are also reported. Synthesis of biodiesel from waste vegetable oil and chicken fat oil as low-cost biodiesel feedstocks has also been carried out. The oils are trans-esterified using base homogeneous catalyst KOH and reaction variables were optimized for biodiesel synthesis. The biodiesel yields 89%, 89%, and 82% were obtained using feedstocks Terminalia oil, chicken fat oil, and waste vegetable oils, respectively, at individually optimized parameters such as molar ratio (methanol to oil), catalyst concentration, reaction temperature, reaction time, and agitation speed. The investigated fatty acid profile of feedstocks and different fuel properties of biodiesel were found to be as per ASTM D6751-07b and EU 14214:2003 standards. The aim of this work is to analyse research productivity of life sciences faculty members at the Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU), Maharashtra, India. The research is conducted with the intention to know the research productivity over 15 years (1999-2013), the citations received, collaborations, and authorship patterns. Web of Science (WoS) database was used for the bibliographic and citation data. Data were analysed by using bibliometric techniques and software such as HistCite, Intcoll, and Pajek. Results show that the research productivity of faculty members is increasing, their publications are getting good citations and thereby their journals have better Impact Factor. The faculty members have collaborated with prominent international researchers and have extended interdisciplinary research. Waste crab shells after calcination have been used as a nonconventional heterogeneous catalyst for biodiesel synthesis from pongamia oil. Crab shell was calcined in muffle furnace at 1100 °C for 2hrs. The calcined catalyst was characterized on X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy and Scanning electron microscopy (SEM). A high biodiesel yield and conversion was obtained at 10:1 (alcohol/oil) molar ratio, 3.00wt% crab shell calcined catalyst, and 2.00hr reaction time at 65°C with 600rpm stirring speed. Conversion of pongamia oil feedstock to its respective fatty acid methyl esters was identified on a thin layer chromatography (TLC). The quality parameters, such as density, viscosity, calorific value, oxidation number, flash point, fire point cetane number, elements like C,H,O etc were analyzed as per ASTM-6751 standard. Further the same biodiesel was preceded for emission analysis on single cylinder variable compression dieselengine with various blending ratios as well load. Blends of KB00% (diesel), KB10%, KB20%, KB30%, and KB100% were prepared at 40°C. The parameters like Oxides of nitrogen (NOx), Carbon monoxide (CO), Hydro carbon (HC) etc were studied and compared with fissile fuel. Purpose - The purpose of this paper was to analyse text mining (TM) literature indexed in the Web of Science (WoS) under the "Information Science Library Science" subcategory. More specifically, it analyses the chronological growth of TM literature, and the major countries, institutions, departments and individuals contributing to TM literature. Collaboration in TM research is also analysed. Design/methodology/approach - Bibliographic and citation data required for this research were retrieved from the WoS database. TM being a multidisciplinary field, the search was restricted to "Information Science Library Science" subcategory in the WoS. A comprehensive query statement covering all synonyms of "text mining" was prepared using the Boolean operator "OR". Microsoft Excel and HistCite software were used for data analysis. Pajek and VoSviewer were used for data visualization. Findings - It was found that USA is the major producer of TM research literature, and the highest number of papers were published in the Journal of The American Medical Informatics. Columbia University ranked first both in number of articles and citations received in the top ten institutes publishing TM literature. It was also observed that six of the top ten subdivisions of institutions are either from medicine or medical informatics or biomedical information. H.C. Chen and C. Friedman were seen to be the most prolific authors. The New Media Consortium (NMC) Horizon Report 2014 made certain predictions about the emerging technologies and trends in higher education worldwide. The article reviews academic library's position with reference to the predictions made by the Report. The articles briefly refers to selected trends in higher education, mentioned in the Report and reviews and discusses academic library's present and future responses. The review and discussions are based on literature review. The articles finds that academic libraries are responding to the emerging trends in higher education through innovative practices and services. It concludes that in spite of their efforts, there is still scope for the academic libraries to improve their role in the changing higher education scenario and to prove their value. This paper aims to provide an overview of automatic classification research, which focuses on issues related to the automatic classification of documents in a library environment. The review covers literature published in mainstream library and information science studies. The review was done on literature published in both academic and professional LIS journals and other documents. This review reveals that basically three types of research are being done on automatic classification: 1) hierarchical classification using different library classification schemes, 2) text categorization and document categorization using different type of classifiers with or without using training documents, and 3) automatic bibliographic classification. Predominantly this research is directed towards solving problems of organization of digital documents in an online environment. The present paper highlights the efforts made by the Department of Library and Information Science, University of Pune to use an open source software, viz., Moodle for the promotion of e-learning in the department. Various utilities of the Moodle such as development of the course, blogs, wiki, question banks, notification to the students, etc., has been used. This paper analyses the literature of classification published during 2000 to 2009 and finds that there is sustainability in the growth of literature on classification in the first decade of the 21st century. It traces the pattern in scattering of literature on classification in library and information science (LIS) journals and concludes that the literature adheres to the Bradford's law of scattering. It produces rank list of journals publishing the literature on classification and identifies authorship patterns and the prominent writers in classification. The article discusses the development of so-called "info-products," which are information resources and references services targeted at specific communities of users, by libraries. Examples are presented of such communities and of information resources which would be of interest and use to them. A partnership approach is suggested in which libraries would collaborate in developing these information resources and in marketing them to potential users. Possible problems with finances and accounting related to info-products marketing are considered.

The article is based on a survey of websites of antiquarian books. Contents of 14 websites of antiquarian books were analysed. The aspects analysed and interpreted were search facilities, singed editions, reviews, dust jackets, antiquarian books for sale, maintaining 'wants lists', etc. The article concludes that the websites of antiquarian books are helping a long way in bibliographic control of antiquarian books by providing needed information easily. Abstract: In the present communication, we report the studies concerning liquid–liquid–solid equilibria for the ternary system sodium thiosulphate (Na2S2O3)+ethanol+water at ambient pressure and at room temperature (303±2K). The solubility data of Na2S2O3 are reported for solutions in water, ethanol and solutions of varying concentrations of ethanol in water. The phase diagram for the said system is developed, described and compared with similar system K2CO3 +methanol+water. These results have been explained in terms of structural properties of aqueous ethanol solutions and further discussed in terms of the effect of ions to cause phase separation.
