Together with alexithymia, many psychiatric symptoms such as internalization symptoms and externalization symptoms have often been associated with obesity. Objectives of this study are to investigate alexithymic features, Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) symptoms and also depression and anxiety symptoms in obese and overweight subjects, to determine the correlation of these symptoms with Body Mass Index (BMI) and lastly to search how eating behaviour is affected by these symptoms. B Findings: b The only symptom that present a meaningful difference between the patient and control groups was restrained eating (p<0.001) BMI is positively correlated with restrained eating (r:0,393, p<0,001) and negatively correlated with parents' education level and number of siblings (r:0,334, p<0,001; r:0,151, p:0,004).
