This study was conducted to analyze the effect of foam mat drying (FD) technology on the anthocyanin extraction from Syzygium cumini (Jamun) pulp. Jamun pulp was foamed using a hand mixer with the incorporation of egg albumin and methylcellulose. The drying process involved three different techniques: hot air foam drying, vacuum foam drying, and microwave foam drying. Microwave foam drying was selected as the preferred method based on the recovery of anthocyanin, with drying power options of 180, 360, and 540 W. For hot air foam drying and vacuum foam drying, temperatures of 50 °C, 70 °C, and 100 °C were employed. It was found that microwave drying with 180 W had maximum anthocyanin recovery, whereas vacuum and hot air drying showed lesser anthocyanin content. The anthocyanin content obtained at this power level was determined to be 491.42 ± 6.97 mg/100 g, indicating a significant increase compared to the initial content. Using lower power levels in microwave FD has proven advantageous by preventing the degradation of anthocyanins due to decreased exposure to heat. Subsequently, various analyses were conducted from the extracts obtained from microwave power 180 W, which included total phenolic content (TPC), 2,2‐diphenyl‐1‐picrylhydrazyl (DPPH), and antimicrobial assay. Lower values of TPC were found because of the breakdown of bioactive compounds due to higher power levels. An increased quantity of % DPPH activity was observed. The extract exhibited notable antibacterial efficacy, although no significant antifungal impact was detected. A common application for intraoral scanners is the digitization of the morphology of teeth and palatal rugae. Palatal scans are most commonly required to fabricate complete dentures and immediate transitional dentures and serve as a reference point for assessing orthodontic results. However, they are also frequently included by accident, even though the main purpose of intraoral scanning is to reconstruct dentition using computer-aided manufacturing (CAM). The literature shows that the identification of disaster victims has frequently involved palatal rugae impressions. As the skull provides sound insulation, the rugae are resistant to heat, chemicals, and stress. Antemortem data might be difficult to find during a forensic inquiry, particularly in disaster victim identification cases. In contrast with DNA and fingerprints, there is a greater likelihood of having a dental record that contains palatal scans. With specialized software, the scans can be exported as open stereolithography (STL) files. Considering that a full case consumes up to about 100 MB of hard drive space, long-term storage should not be an issue compared to a plaster model. Additionally, dentists widely use online databases to exchange data for smile design, implant registration, and orthodontic purposes. This will produce a digital database that grows quickly and is readily usable for forensic investigations. The uniqueness of forensic features is frequently challenged; however, palatal morphology's unique trait could make it possible as it is characteristic of individuals as well as the most distinguishing factor. Plants are constantly under the threat of various biotic and abiotic stress conditions and to overcome these stresses, they have evolved multiple mechanisms including systematic accumulation of different phytohormones, phytoalexins and pathogenesis related (PR) proteins. PR proteins are cluster of proteins with low molecular weight which get incited in plants under different stresses. In this paper, in-silico approaches are used to compare the physico-chemical properties of 6 PR proteins (PR1, PR2, PR5, PR9, PR10, PR12) of Arabidopsis thaliana and Oryza sativa. Topological analysis revealed the presence of transmembrane localization of PR2 and absence of transmembrane domain in PR10 of both model plants studied. Amino acid composition shows the dominance of small aliphatic amino acids i.e. alanine, glycine and serine in both plants studied. These results highlights the similarities and differences between PRs of both model plants, which provides clue towards their diversified roles in plants. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Pathogenesis related (PR) proteins are low molecular weight family of proteins induced in plants under various biotic and abiotic stresses. They play an important role in plant-defense mechanism. PRs have wide range of functions, acting as hydrolases, peroxidases, chitinases, anti-fungal, protease inhibitors etc. In the present study, an attempt has been made to analyze promoter regions of PR1, PR2, PR5, PR9, PR10 and PR12 of Arabidopsis thaliana and Oryza sativa. Analysis of cis-element distribution revealed the functional multiplicity of PRs and provides insight into the gene regulation. CpG islands are observed only in rice PRs, which indicates that monocot genome contains more GC rich motifs than dicots. Tandem repeats were also observed in 5’ UTR of PR genes. Thus, the present study provides an understanding of regulation of PR genes and their versatile roles in plants. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
