Objective To explore the application value of interleukin-33 （IL-33） in wound age estimation in forensic practice by observing the sequential changes of IL-33 after skin wound. Methods Skin wound models were generated on the back of mice with a round file of 5 mm in diameter. Skin samples of the same size were taken from the same parts of mice in control group and injury group 1 h, 3 h, 6 h, 12 h, 1 d, 3 d, 5 d, 7 d and 10 d after skin wound. Hematoxylin-eosin （HE） staining method was applied to observe the morphological changes in the recovering process after skin wound. Western blotting, immunohistochemistry staining and double immunofluorescence staining methods were applied to detect the expression changes of IL-33 in the skin wound samples. Results The results of Western blotting showed that the expression of IL-33 protein decreased slightly at 3 h after skin wound, increased gradually at 6 h after skin wound, and reached the peak value at 3 d, then decreased gradually. Immunohistochemistry staining results showed that faint positive expression of IL-33 was observed in epidermis, hair follicles, sebaceous glands and dermal resident cells of the control group skin. The positive cell rate of IL-33 increased at 3 h after skin wound and reached the peak value at 3 d, then decreased gradually. The results of double immunofluorescence staining showed that the majority of IL-33 positive cells from 1 d to 3 d after wound were macrophages, while the majority of IL-33 positive cells from 5 d to 7 d after wound were myofibroblasts. In addition, the results of HE staining showed that the wound healing process of the skin wound model was consistent with the pathological development law of inflammation. Conclusion IL-33 could become a reference index for wound age estimation of skin wound in forensic practice.

Objective To detect the expression changes of interleukin-10 (IL-10) and transforming growth factor-β1 (TGF-β1) during the development of deep vein thrombosis in mice, and to explore the application value of them in thrombus age estimation. Methods The mice in the experimental group were subjected to ligation of inferior vena cava. The mice were sacrificed by excessive anesthesia at 1 d, 3 d, 5 d, 7 d, 10 d, 14 d and 21 d after ligation, respectively. The inferior vena cava segment with thrombosis was extracted below the ligation point. The mice in the control group were not ligated, and the inferior vena cava segment at the same position as the experimental group was extracted. The expression changes of IL-10 and TGF-β1 were detected by immunohistochemistry (IHC), Western blotting and real-time qPCR. Results IHC results revealed that IL-10 was mainly expressed in monocytes in thrombosis and TGF-β1 was mainly expressed in monocytes and fibroblast-like cells in thrombosis. Western blotting and real-time qPCR showed that the relative expression levels of IL-10 and TGF-β1 in each experimental group were higher than those in the control group. The mRNA and protein levels of IL-10 reached the peak at 7 d and 10 d after ligation, respectively. The mRNA expression level at 7 d after ligation was 4.72±0.15 times that of the control group, and the protein expression level at 10 d after ligation was 7.15±0.28 times that of the control group. The mRNA and protein levels of TGF-β1 reached the peak at 10 d and 14 d after ligation, respectively. The mRNA expression level at 10 d after ligation was 2.58±0.14 times that of the control group, and the protein expression level at 14 d after ligation was 4.34±0.19 times that of the control group. Conclusion The expressions of IL-10 and TGF-β1 during the evolution of deep vein thrombosis present time-dependent sequential changes, and the expression levels of IL-10 and TGF-β1 can provide a reference basis for thrombus age estimation. Objective To investigate the sequential changes of the number of neutrophils and myofibroblasts during diabetic wound healing, and discuss its application value in wound age estimation. Methods Diabetic DB mice and mice of the same age in the normal control group were selected, a wound healing model was established, wound samples were taken at different time points, while the number of neutrophils and myofibroblasts during diabetic wound healing were determined by immunohistochemical staining technique. Results The number of infiltrated neutrophils in the wounds of control and diabetic groups reached the peak respectively at 12 h and 5 d after injury. Compared with the control group, the number of neutrophils in the diabetic group decreased significantly from 6 h to 1 d after injury, but increased markedly from 5 d to 14 d. From 5 d to 10 d after injury, the average number of neutrophils at high magnification in wounds of the diabetic group was over 30, while that of neutrophils in wounds of the control group was less than 20. Myofibroblasts appeared in wounds from 3 d to 14 d after injury in the control group and from 5 d to 14 d after injury in the diabetic group. The difference in the number of myofibroblasts in wounds between control group and diabetic group from 3 to 7 d after injury had statistical significance. Conclusion In comparison with normal wound healing, the number of neutrophils and myofibroblasts during diabetic wound healing shows different sequential changes. The results of this study can provide reference for wound age estimation of patients with severe diabetes.

Eugenol (EU) has been shown to ameliorate experimental colitis due to its anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory bioactivities. In this study, DSS-induced acute colitis was established and applied to clarify the regulation efficacy of EU on intestinal barrier impairment and macrophage polarization imbalance along with the inflammatory response. Besides, the adjusting effect of EU on macrophages was further investigated in vitro. The results confirmed that EU intervention alleviated DSS-induced colitis through methods such as restraining weight loss and colonic shortening and decreasing DAI scores. Microscopic observation manifested that EU maintained the intestinal barrier integrity in line with the mucus barrier and tight junction protection. Furthermore, EU intervention significantly suppressed the activation of TLR4/MyD88/NF- κ B signaling pathways and pro-inflammatory cytokines gene expressions, while enhancing the expressions of anti-inflammatory cytokines. Simultaneously, WB and FCM analyses of the CD86 and CD206 showed that EU could regulate the DSS-induced macrophage polarization imbalance. Overall, our data further elucidated the mechanism of EU's defensive effect on experimental colitis, which is relevant to the protective efficacy of intestinal barriers, inhibition of oxidative stress and excessive inflammatory response, and reprogramming of macrophage polarization. Compound droplets have received increasing attention due to their applications in many several areas, including medicine and materials. Previous works mostly focused on compound droplets on planar surfaces and, as such, the effects of curved walls have not been studied thoroughly. In this paper, the influence of the properties of curved solid wall (including the shape, curvature, and contact angle) on the wetting behavior of compound droplets is explored. The axisymmetric lattice Boltzmann method, based on the conservative phase field formulation for ternary fluids, was used to numerically study the wetting and spreading of a compound droplet of the Janus type on various curved solid walls at large density ratios, focusing on whether the separation of compound droplets occurs. Several types of wall geometries were considered, including a planar wall, a concave wall with constant curvature, and a convex wall with fixed or variable curvature (specifically, a prolate or oblate spheroid). The effects of surface wettability, interfacial angles, and the density ratio (of droplet to ambient fluid) on the wetting process were also explored. In general, it was found that, under otherwise identical conditions, droplet separation tends to happen more likely on more hydrophilic walls, under larger interfacial angles (measured inside the droplet), and at larger density ratios. On convex walls, a larger radius of curvature of the surface near the droplet was found to be helpful to split the Janus droplet. On concave walls, as the radius of curvature increases from a small value, the possibility to observe droplet separation first increases and then decreases. Several phase diagrams on whether droplet separation occurs during the spreading process were produced for different kinds of walls to illustrate the influences of various factors. Detection of a goaf by laser-scan technology to build a 3D visualized model and to obtain the goaf's 3D space position and shape, is an important part for comprehensive management of the goaf's accidents. Multiple probes from multiple orientations are usually needed to obtain a goaf's 3D shape because of its complexity. How to construct a triangular mesh model from splice unorganized points by multiple probes is the key technology of a goaf's 3D modeling. A spherical projection triangulation algorithm is proposed for laser-scanning splice unorganized points of a goaf in this paper. Firstly, projected points are got by a chosen sphere center and projecting in-situ points onto the sphere. Secondly, the projected points are triangularized completely. Then topological relations are reverted from the projected points to the in-situ points. At last, a triangular mesh model of the goaf is constructed. In order to effectively implement the algorithm, many methods are studied such as the spherical projection parameters setting, XYZ-orientation cell grid points searching strategy, triangle generation rules, boundary segment strategy by advantage vertexes, boundary closure strategy, and irregular triangle optimization strategy. Applications show that the algorithm can generate a high quality triangular mesh model and provide technical support for accurate 3D modeling and visualized management of a goaf.

Monitoring analysis was performed for the deformation characteristics of a deep roadway in soft rock masses in a certain mine by the convergence instrument. It was indicated that shotcrete and bolt support for the surrounding rock deformation under forces produced a poor effect so that a shotcrete rockbolt mesh coupling support pattern was put forward and four coupling support schemes were designed to carry out field monitoring for surrounding rock deformations on the basis of above schemes. According to the research, we could summarize as follows. Firstly, when load in floor strata reached a certain value, shear failure took place on the edge of floor; then, with the continuous increase of such a load, shear zones were subsequently expanded and connected together into one big region; at that time, as the load on floor strata had been up to its limit, the floor could be settled sharply as long as this load went up slightly so that the uplift of rock mass gave rise to floor heave. Secondly, bearing capacity of floor rocks was dependent on the average binding force, internal friction angle and unit weight of floor rocks as well as the concentrated stress action width of lateral wall and the average pressure value borne by the roadway floor. Thirdly, after the shotcrete rockbolt mesh coupling support was adopted, two-sided displacement dropped 80% and above, roof subsidence decreased more than 70% and the capacity of floor heave falls by over 90%; as a result, stability of the roadway could be significantly improved.

In single-component two-phase flow simulations by the lattice Boltzmann method (LBM), one key topic of interest is the equation of state (EOS), which has been studied more in the pseudo-potential approach but much less in the free energy approach. Here, we conducted fair assessment of several popular non-ideal gas EOS in free energy LBM. The inability to independently tune the surface tension and interface thickness was identified for existing free energy formulation using most EOS. A simple modification was proposed and incorporated into three free energy LBM models, including the pressure tensor model, Lee–Fischer's model, and Guo's well-balanced model. Good compatibility with all of them was demonstrated by numerical simulations. In addition, a piecewise-linear (PWL) EOS proposed in pseudo-potential LBM was found to be also feasible in free energy LBM. Extensive numerical experiments on diverse problems (some containing contact lines) revealed that the influence of EOS was rather limited when key parameters are nearly the same (easily achievable with the proposed modification). The capability of the Lee–Fischer and well-balanced models to reduce the spurious currents down to machine accuracy (for static drop tests) was found to be independent of the EOS (including the customized PWL EOS). Overall, the pressure tensor LBM is associated with larger spurious currents and deviations in the density and chemical potential, thus less accurate than the other two. Aiming at steering stability and wheel angle tracking of steer-by-wire (SBW) three wheeled forklift, steering dynamic model and SBW system mathematical model of three wheeled forklift are established. A control strategy for the ideal transmission ratio is introduced based on this model, which ensures forklift steering gain invariant. A sliding mode controller can then be designed based on the bound information of uncertain system parameters, uncertain self-aligning torque, and external disturbances. The results of simulation show the control strategies above can effectively reduce the sideslip angle when the forklift is steering and improve the sensitivity and stability of the steering forklift; at the same time can effectively restrain the parameter perturbation of internal system and external disturbance, which improves the tracking performance of the wheel angle.

In this paper, a wearable OLED in‐cell self‐capacitive sensor using machine learning algorithm for water‐proofing is proposed. This paper also shows the experiment and the test result. The result shows that the success rate of water‐proofing on bezel can be largely improved (from 30.7% to 77.1%) by machine learning method on the wearable device with Novatek TDDI NT38350. This study uses an input-output model to analyze the wastewater, waste gas, and solid waste emissions in Guangdong's industrial exports from 2004 to 2015; the Logarithmic Mean Divisia Index (LMDI) is used to analyze the factors influencing such pollution. The results reveal that embodied emissions of waste gas and solid waste in Guangdong's export trade are increasing, while the increase in wastewater emissions is not apparent. The Logarithmic Mean Divisia Index (LMDI) is used to analyze the influencing factors of pollution, specifically, the structural, scale, and technical effects. We discovered that emissions of the top five industries account for about 80% of total emissions and the wastewater emissions' technical effect has more impact; however, it is difficult for this technical effect in terms of embodied waste gas and solid waste to offset the scale and structural effects' impacts. Moreover, the trends and factors influencing various industries' pollution emissions differ. This study proposes that when the government carries out environmental pollution control measures, they should consider the embodied pollution caused by products from foreign trade and focus on treating industries with severe pollution. The development of broad-spectrum anti-bacterial tough hydrogels without antibiotics remains a challenge in biomedical applications. In this study, we have synthesized a novel tough anti-bacterial complex hydrogel based on Cu2+ coordination. A swollen and weak poly(acrylamide-co-4-vinylbenzyl-(trihydroxymethyl-phosphonium)chloride) (P(AAm-co-VBzTHPC)) hydrogel was prepared by the radical copolymerization of AAm and VBzTHPC monomer solutions, followed by immersion in CuSO4 solution to coordinate with Cu2+ to form a strong and tough hydrogel. Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectra and X-ray photoelectron spectra (XPS) were used to characterize the coordination structure between phosphorus and oxygen atoms in the VBzTHPC monomer and copper ions. The water content and mechanical properties of the obtained hydrogel varied with gel composition. The prepared toughened hydrogel exhibited excellent anti-bacterial performance because of the introduction of copper ion coordination and the slow release of copper ions, with bacterial viability of 5.1% when the mole fraction of VBzTHPC was 10 mol%. Cell viability when cocultured with the toughened hydrogel was above 85% using the Cell Counting Kit-8 (CCK-8) method, indicating the good biocompatibility of the hydrogel. A simplified method is proposed to implement a wetting boundary condition on curved surfaces within the conservative phase-field lattice-Boltzmann (LB) simulation framework. It combines the idea of Huang et al. ["An alternative method to implement contact angle boundary condition and its application in hybrid lattice-Boltzmann finite-difference simulations of two-phase flows with immersed surfaces," Eur. Phys. J. E 41, 17 (2018)] to find the order parameter on the other side of the wall with the conservative Allen–Cahn equation (CACE) for interface evolution solved by the LB equations. It inherits the advantage of the original method using the Cahn–Hilliard equation to avoid complicated interpolations under different geometries. By using the CACE, the boundary condition for the chemical potential is circumvented (making it more simplified), and the overshooting of the order parameter is also greatly suppressed, enabling it to simulate two-phase flows with solid objects of various shapes and wettabilities at large density and viscosity ratios. Several two-dimensional, axisymmetric, and three-dimensional problems, including some previously studied by experiments, were simulated and the capability of the proposed method is demonstrated through its good agreement with theoretical predictions and/or experimental observations. In this paper, we focus on X-ray images (X-radiographs) of paintings with concealed sub-surface designs (e.g., deriving from reuse of the painting support or revision of a composition by the artist), which therefore include contributions from both the surface painting and the concealed features. In particular, we propose a self-supervised deep learning-based image separation approach that can be applied to the X-ray images from such paintings to separate them into two hypothetical X-ray images. One of these reconstructed images is related to the X-ray image of the concealed painting, while the second one contains only information related to the X-ray image of the visible painting. The proposed separation network consists of two components: the analysis and the synthesis sub-networks. The analysis sub-network is based on learned coupled iterative shrinkage thresholding algorithms (LCISTA) designed using algorithm unrolling techniques, and the synthesis sub-network consists of several linear mappings. The learning algorithm operates in a totally self-supervised fashion without requiring a sample set that contains both the mixed X-ray images and the separated ones. Image denoising aims to restore a clean image from an observed noisy one. Model-based image denoising approaches can achieve good generalization ability over different noise levels and are with high interpretability. Learning-based approaches are able to achieve better results, but usually with weaker generalization ability and interpretability. In this paper, we propose a wavelet-inspired invertible network (WINNet) to combine the merits of the wavelet-based approaches and learning-based approaches. The proposed WINNet consists of $K$ -scale of lifting inspired invertible neural networks (LINNs) and sparsity-driven denoising networks together with a noise estimation network. The network architecture of LINNs is inspired by the lifting scheme in wavelets. LINNs are used to learn a non-linear redundant transform with perfect reconstruction property to facilitate noise removal. The denoising network implements a sparse coding process for denoising. The noise estimation network estimates the noise level from the input image which will be used to adaptively adjust the soft-thresholds in LINNs. The forward transform of LINNs produces a redundant multi-scale representation for denoising. The denoised image is reconstructed using the inverse transform of LINNs with the denoised detail channels and the original coarse channel. The simulation results show that the proposed WINNet method is highly interpretable and has strong generalization ability to unseen noise levels. Intelligent video summarization algorithms allow to quickly convey the most relevant information in videos through the identification of the most essential and explanatory content while removing redundant video frames. In this paper, we introduce the 3DST-UNet-RL framework for video summarization. A 3D spatio-temporal U-Net is used to efficiently encode spatio-temporal information of the input videos for downstream reinforcement learning (RL). An RL agent learns from spatio-temporal latent scores and predicts actions for keeping or rejecting a video frame in a video summary. We investigate if real/inflated 3D spatio-temporal CNN features are better suited to learn representations from videos than commonly used 2D image features. Our framework can operate in both, a fully unsupervised mode and a supervised training mode. We analyse the impact of prescribed summary lengths and show experimental evidence for the effectiveness of 3DST-UNet-RL on two commonly used general video summarization benchmarks. We also applied our method on a medical video summarization task. The proposed video summarization method has the potential to save storage costs of ultrasound screening videos as well as to increase efficiency when browsing patient video data during retrospective analysis or audit without loosing essential information. We established and validated a sensitive multi-residue analytical method for identifying benzophenone (BP) and nine BP derivatives (2,4-dihydroxybenzophenone [BP-1], 2,2′,4,4′-tetrahydroxydroxybenzophenone, 2-hydroxy-4-methoxy benzophenone, 2,2′-dihydroxy 4-methoxy benzophenone, 2-hydroxybenzophenone [2-OHBP], 4-hydroxybenzophenone, 4-methylbenzophenone [4-MBP], methyl-2-benzoylbenzoate, and 4-benzoylbiphenyl). Solid–liquid extraction pretreatment and ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography–tandem mass spectrometry (UHPLC–MS/MS) were employed in an analysis of 85 packaged cereal-based food samples (25 pastry, 50 rice, and 10 noodle samples). The method had satisfactory linearity (R2 ≥ 0.995), low limits of detection (pastry: 0.02–4.2 ng/g; rice and noodle: 0.02–2 ng/g), and favorable precision, with within-run and between-run coefficient of variation ranges of 1–29% and 1–28%, respectively. BP and 4-MBP were detected in 100% of the pastry samples, and BP-1 and 2-OHBP were found in 76% and 56% of the pastry samples, respectively. BP and 2-OHBP were found in 92% and 38% of the rice samples, respectively. BP was found in 50% of the noodle samples. BP contributed the most to the total level of BPs in pastries, with significantly higher mean ± standard deviation (range) levels for pastries (26.8 ± 32.6 [1.8–115.4] ng/g) than rice (1.2 ± 2.0 [0.4–13.4] ng/g) and noodles (0.7 ± 0.7 [0.4–1.9] ng/g); p < 0.0001). The trace levels of 4-MBP identified in the samples demonstrate the need for the development of analytical methods with high sensitivity and specificity; the proposed method satisfies this need. The experiment was to study the effect of different levels of compound acidifier on growth performance, intestinal morphology, meat quality and serum immune function of white-feathered broilers. 600 one-day-old white-feathered broilers were randomly divided into four groups with five replicates and 30 broilers in each replicate. The experiment lasted for 42 d. The experimental groups (group I, group II and group III) were added 0.05%, 0.10% and 0.20% sustained-release compound acidifier in drinking water, respectively, and the control group did not add complex acid. The results showed that compared with control group, the feed to gain ratio of broilers in group II and group III were significantly decreased (P<0.05). The jejunal mucosa villus length of broilers was significantly increased in group II and group III (P<0.05), the crypt depth was significantly increased in group I and group II (P<0.05), and the villus length/crypt depth value in group III was significantly increased (P<0.05). The activity of trypsin in group II and group III was significantly increased (P<0.05). The content of IgA and IgG in serum of group III broilers were significantly increased (P<0.05). The redness of broilers in group II and group III was significantly increased ( P<0.05), the yellowness of meat in group III was significantly increased (P<0.05), and the drip loss of meat in group II and group III was significantly decreased (P<0.05). The experiment indicates that adding a certain level of compound acidifier in broiler feed can improve production performance and immune capacity, optimizing intestinal development and digestive enzyme activities, improving meat quality.
