Hot electrons generated in metallic nanostructures have shown promising perspectives for photodetection. This has prompted efforts to enhance the absorption of photons by metals. However, most strategies require fine-tuning of the geometric parameters to achieve perfect absorption, accompanied by the demanding fabrications. Here, we theoretically propose a Ag grating/TiO2 cladding hybrid structure for hot electron photodetection (HEPD) by combining quasi-bound states in the continuum (BIC) and plasmonic hot electrons. Enabled by quasi-BIC, perfect absorption can be readily achieved and it is robust against the change of several structural parameters due to the topological nature of BIC. Also, we show that the guided mode can be folded into the light cone by introducing a disturbance to become a guided resonance, which then gives rise to a narrow-band HEPD that is difficult to be achieved in the high loss gold plasmonics. Combining the quasi-BIC and the guided resonance, we also realize a multiband HEPD with near-perfect absorption. Our work suggests new routes to enhance the light-harvesting in plasmonic nanosystems.

PCA3, AMACR, PSA and GPI transcripts were detected by multiplex reverse transcription quantitative polymerase chain reaction, and the results were used for scores for calculation and statistical analysis.Results: There was no significant difference between clinically significant and nonsignificant prostate cancer PCA3 scores. However, there was a significant difference in the AMACR score (patients scheduled for radical prostatectomy p=0.0088, prebiopsy cohort p=0.029). We estimated AUCs, optimal cutoffs, sensitivities and specificities for PCa and csPCa detection in the prebiopsy cohort by tPSA, PCA3 score, PCPT Risk Calculator and classification models based on tPSA, PCA3 score and AMACR score. In the clinically significant prostate cancer ROC analysis, the PCA3 score AUC was 0.632 (95%CI: 0.511– 0.752), the AMACR score AUC was 0.711 (95%CI: 0.617– 0.806) and AUC of classification model based on the PCA3 score, the AMACR score and total PSA was 0.72 (95%CI: 0.58– 0.83). In addition, the correlation of the AMACR score with the ratio of total RNA and RNA of prostate cells in urine was shown (tau=0.347, p=6.542e– 09). Significant amounts of nonprostate RNA in urine may be a limitation for the AMACR score use.Conclusion: The AMACR score is a good predictor of clinically significant prostate cancer. Significant amounts of nonprostate RNA in urine may be a limitation for the AMACR score use. Evaluation of the AMACR score and classification models based on it for clinically significant prostate cancer detection with larger samples and a follow-up analysis is promising.Keywords: prostatic neoplasms, early diagnosis, neoplasm grading, alpha-methylacyl-CoA racemase, RNA

The Fano and Rabi models represent remarkably common effects in optics. Here we study the coherent time dynamics of plasmonic systems exhibiting Fano and Rabi spectral responses. We demonstrate that these systems show fundamentally different dynamics. A plasmonic system with a Fano resonance displays at most one temporal beat under pulsed excitation, whereas a plasmonic system in the Rabi-like regime may have any number of beats. Remarkably, the Fano-like systems show time dynamics with very characteristic coherent tails despite the strong decoherence that is intrinsic for such systems. The coherent Fano and Rabi dynamics that we predicted can be observed in plasmonic nanocrystal dimers in time-resolved experiments. Our study demonstrates that such coherent temporal plasmonics includes non-trivial and characteristic relaxation behaviors and presents an interesting direction to develop with further research.

In recent decades, neural networks have been widely applied in many fields of science and medicine. Accurate and early diagnosis of malignancies is a key challenge in oncology. Neural networks can analyse a wide range of medical data and identify relationships between qualitative and quantitative features. This allows for more precise and timely diagnoses. Moreover, they can be used to predict tumour progression, evaluate treatment effectiveness, and optimise treatment plans for each patientIn oncourology, the use of neural networks offers new perspectives for the diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment of various cancer conditions related to the urinary tract and male reproductive system. This review article explores how neural networks are being used in this field and present research into the use of neural networks for diagnosing, predicting the course and treating urological oncological diseases. The advantages and limitations of using neural networks in this field are demonstrated, and possible directions for future research are suggested. The application of neural networks in oncourology opens new horizons for the development of a personalised approach to diagnosing and treating oncological diseases. Artificial intelligence has the potential to become a powerful tool for improving the accuracy of patient outcome predictions and reducing undesirable side effects of therapy. Introducing neural networks into oncourological practice creates new opportunities for enhancing the work of healthcare organisations and improving the quality of care provided to patients. This can lead to better treatment outcomes and improved patient satisfaction.

Introduction. The clinical guidelines recommend performing extended pelvic lymph node dissection for patients with intermediateor high-risk cancer prostate. The incidence of lymphocele development reaches 10.3%.Objective. The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficiency of the drug Lymphoblock after radical prostatectomy with pelvic lymphadenectomy.Materials & methods. The study involved 79 patients with prostate cancer who underwent robot-assisted radical prostatectomy with pelvic lymphadenectomy, that were randomized into three treatment groups: 1. Patients with free peritoneal flap fixed to the pubic bone (n = 26); 2. Patients who received Lymphoblock: during the surgery (n = 26); 3. Control group (n = 27). The median follow-up was 180 d.Results. In postoperative period lymphocele was diagnosed in 8 (10.1%) patients: group 1 — 2 (7.7%) patients, group 2 — 1 (3.8%), group 3 — 5 (18.5%). Lymphocele had no clinical manifestation in group patients who received Lymphoblock.Conclusions. Preliminary results of Lymphobloc use indicate that it can reduce the incidence of lymphogenic complications in the postoperative period in patients undergoing robot-assisted radical prostatectomy with pelvic lymphadenectomy.

Introduction. Radical prostatectomy (RP) stands the gold standard method of treatment for localised prostate cancer. Pelvic lymph node dissection (PLND) is a common surgical procedure that can be used for both diagnostic and therapeutic purposes. Lymphocele is the most common complication after robot-assisted radical prostatectomy (RARP) and PLND.Objective. To develop a surgical technique aimed at reducing the incidence of lymphocele in patients who underwent RARP with TL and to evaluate its efficacy and safety.Materials & methods. The study included 49 patients who underwent RARP and PLND. The patients were divided into 2 groups: group 1 — patients with free peritoneal flap fixed to the pubic bone after RARP and PLND (n = 25) and group 2 — control group «without peritoneal flap fixation» (n = 24). The average follow-up period was 3 months.Results. No significant differences in clinical parameters were observed between the groups in perioperative period. In postoperative period lymphocele was diagnosed in 5 (10.2%) patients: group 1 — 1 (4%) patients, group 2 — 4 (16.7%). There were no significant differences in lymphocele volume between the groups. In group 1 lymphocele had no clinical manifestation. Symptomatic lymphocele was diagnosed in 1 patient (4.2%) from the control group.Conclusion. The surgical technique of a free peritoneal flap fixation to the pubic bone combined with PLND after RARP may reduce the incidence of lymphocele if compared to the standard technique.

Abstract The collective light-matter interaction of chiral supramolecular aggregates or molecular ensembles with confined light fields remains a mystery beyond the current theoretical description. Here, we programmably and accurately build models of chiral plasmonic complexes, aiming to uncover the entangled effects of excitonic correlations, intra- and intermolecular charge transfer, and localized surface plasmon resonances. The intricate interplay of multiple chirality origins has proven to be strongly dependent on the site-specificity of chiral molecules on plasmonic nanoparticle surfaces spanning the nanometer to sub-nanometer scale. This dependence is manifested as a distinct circular dichroism response that varies in spectral asymmetry/splitting, signal intensity, and internal ratio of intensity. The inhomogeneity of the surface-localized plasmonic field is revealed to affect excitonic and charge-transfer mixed intermolecular couplings, which are inherent to chirality generation and amplification. Our findings contribute to the development of hybrid classical-quantum theoretical frameworks and the harnessing of spin-charge transport for emergent applications.

Developing a security solution for spatial files within today’s enterprise Geographical Information System (GIS) that is also usable presents a multifaceted challenge. These files exist in “data silos” of different file server types, resulting in limited collaboration and increased vulnerability. While cloud-based data storage offers many benefits, the associated security concerns have limited its uptake in GIS, making it crucial to explore comparable alternative security solutions that can be deployed on-premise and are also usable. This paper introduces a reasonably usable security solution for spatial files within collaborative enterprise GIS. We explore a Database File System (DBFS) as a potential repository to consolidate and manage spatial files based on its enterprise document management capabilities and security features inherited from the underlying legacy DBMS. These files are protected using the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) algorithm with practical encryption times of 8 MB per second. The final part focuses on an automated encryption solution with schemes for single- and multi-user files that is compatible with various GIS programs and protocol services. Usability testing is carried out to assess the solution’s usability and focuses on effectiveness, efficiency, and user satisfaction, with the results demonstrating its usability based on the minimal changes it makes to how users work in a collaborative enterprise GIS environment. The solution furnishes a viable means for consolidating and protecting spatial files with various formats at the storage layer within enterprise GIS.

The article draws attention to the fact that the current legislation on local self-government and service in local self-government bodies contains a number of problematic issues in terms of regulation of remuneration of officials. It is emphasized that this significantly reduces the effectiveness and reliability of material and financial guarantees for persons performing the tasks and functions of local self-government in positions in its bodies. Due to the low level of regulatory and legal control, the institution of salary does not fully perform the functions it is supposed to perform. The article examines the essential content and role of wages in a modern democratic, legal state, which in its functioning and development relies on the tools and levers of the market economy, as well as civil society institutions. The author presents scientific positions on the content of the concept and functional purpose of wages, as well as its characteristic properties as a legal category. The author analyses the opinions and proposals for eliminating the shortcomings of the organisational and legal framework for material and financial remuneration of public servants of local self-government bodies. It is emphasised that Ukraine has the Law “On Service in Local Self-Government Bodies”, which is intended to change the approaches to the regulation of remuneration of municipal officials significantly, but it has not entered into force and may remain in this state for a long time. In addition, it should be noted that this legal act also has certain gaps in terms of regulating the remuneration of the public servants under study. Taking into account the positions of researchers, as well as the upcoming update of the legislation on service in local self-government bodies, some steps are proposed to improve and develop remuneration of local self-government officials. The author emphasises the need to revise the scheme of official salaries and improve approaches to bonuses for local self-government officials. Emphasis is placed on the importance of improving the effectiveness of mechanisms and tools for stimulating and encouraging the work and service activities of municipal officials.

AbstractWe describe the peculiar conditions under which optically driven gold nanoparticles (NPs) can significantly increase temperature or even melt a surrounding matrix. The heating and melting processes occur under light illumination and involve the plasmon resonance. For the matrix, we consider water, ice, and polymer. Melting and heating the matrix becomes possible if a nanoparticle size is large enough. Significant enhancement of the heating effect can appear in ensembles of NPs due to an increase of a volume of metal and electric-field amplification.

Abstract Chiral sensing of single molecules is vital for the understanding of chirality and their applications in biomedicine. However, current technologies face severe limitations in achieving single-molecule sensitivity. Here we overcome these limitations by designing a tunable chiral supramolecular plasmonic system made of helical oligoamide sequences (OS) and nanoparticle-on-mirror (NPoM) resonator, which works across the classical and quantum regimes. Our design enhances the chiral sensitivity in the quantum tunnelling regime despite of the reduced local E-field, which is due to the strong Coulomb interactions between the chiral OSs and the achiral NPoMs and the additional enhancement from tunnelling electrons. A minimum of four molecules per single-Au particle can be detected, which allows for the detection of an enantiomeric excess within a monolayer, manifesting great potential for the chiral sensing of single molecules.

Russia's large-scale invasion into Ukraine has become a new challenge for society and the government and has provoked a number of crises and problems that seriously complicate the functioning of the state. Presidential Decree No. 64 dated 24 February 2022, “On the Introduction of Martial Law in Ukraine”, introduced martial law throughout Ukraine. The functioning of the authorities, the life of citizens on the ground, and the resolution of a number of new issues have all become the responsibility of local governments. The primary task was to provide maximum support to the military command and help the community to function. Local self-government in Ukraine has demonstrated a high level of efficiency under martial law. On the example of Kharkiv region, a number of problematic issues of regulatory and legal regulation of the functioning of local self-government bodies and military administrations, the scope of their powers and functioning under the legal regime of martial law have been highlighted in the article. Recommendations have been made to improve and delimit the powers of local self-government bodies and military administrations. Ukraine’s experience gained during the war has demonstrated the importance of encouraging self-organisation of the population before centralising governance. And this once again confirms the importance of local governments for ensuring the normal functioning of the state as a whole. Further research is planned to be devoted to the prospects for the development of the local self-government system in the post-war period.

One key aspect in treating any cancer is timely diagnosis and treatment. Obtaining the right diagnosis depends mainly on running the biopsy algorithm. Most studies show a significant increase in sensitivity and specificity in the targeted tissue sampling method compared to standard biopsy. The human factor can result in more medical errors. This can be solved by replacing the standard biopsy method with a more advanced one. The human factor is excluded from the biopsy sampling process using the semi-automatic robotic biopsy needle guidance. This paper presents a literature review development in robot assisted prostate biopsy. A literature review was performed using PubMed and Scopus databases. Papers reporting on experiments using semi-automatic robotic systems were included. Using the literature, we described the prerequisites for the development the software for semi-automatic targeted biopsy to increase the sensitivity and specificity of prostate cancer diagnosis.

The processes of the sublimation and thermal decomposition of the 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium hexafluorophosphate ionic liquid (EMImPF6) were studied by a complex approach including Knudsen effusion mass spectrometry, IR and NMR spectroscopy, and quantum chemical calculations. It was established that the vapor over the liquid phase primarily consists of decomposition products under equilibrium conditions. Otherwise, the neutral ion pairs are the only vapor components under Langmuir conditions. To identify the nature of the decomposition products, an experiment on the distillation of the ionic liquid was performed and the collected distillate was analyzed. It was revealed by the IR and NMR spectroscopy that EMImPF6 decomposes to substituted imidazole-2-ylidene (C6N2H10PF5) and HF. The measured vapor pressure of C6N2H10PF5 reveals a very low activity of the decomposition products (−4) in the liquid phase. The absence of a significant accumulation of decomposition products in the condensed phase makes it possible to determine the enthalpy of sublimation of the ionic liquid assuming its unchanged activity. The thermodynamics of the EMImPF6 sublimation was studied by Knudsen effusion mass spectrometry. The formation enthalpy of EMImPF6 in the ideal gas state was found from a combination of the sublimation enthalpy and formation enthalpy of the ionic liquid in the condensed state. The obtained value is in good agreement with those calculated by quantum chemical methods.

Prostate cancer (PСa) is one of the leading causes of cancer morbidity in men. The incidence of localized PCa is higher in high-income countries. There are different types of treatment for localized PCa: from active surveillance to focal therapy or radical treatment. Both patients and urologists are interested in minimizing side effects of treatment, so focal therapy is an alternative option. Magnetic resonance imaging is one of the leading tools either for primary diagnosis or for following evaluation of treatment efficacy, including focal therapy. Therefore, we summarized literature data published on this topic.

Praying mantises are the apex insect predators in many ecosystems, nevertheless they receive relatively less recognition in biodiversity reviews. We report a first survey of diversity of praying mantises in Cameroon, which is situated in the Congo Basin region, one of the richest biodiversity hotspots. Combination of light trapping with manual collecting resulted in 495 specimens representing 62 species. A total of eight species are novel for the country, at least five species are likely undescribed. DNA barcodes of 72 specimens representing every collected species were obtained, curated, and submitted to NCBI database. For eight species, barcodes are published for the first time. A maximum likelihood phylogenetic tree was created using all available barcodes of Mantodea of Central African subregion. The results obtained during this study stress the importance of combining traditional and molecular approaches during biodiversity assessments of often neglected taxa, the latter aiding in uncovering new species, resolving unknown morphological divergencies and assigning conspecifics.

The present article provides an analysis of suicide humor as a specific form of dark humor and its relation to suicide behavior. It is suggested that such humor and suicide taboo, as well as communicative taboo on the topic of suicide, are interrelated. The complexity and inconsistency of society’s attitude towards suicide and acts of self-sacrifice are analyzed. Presumably suicide humor represents a rather complex multidimensional phenomenon of communication, which functions as a tool for reflection on suicide taboo. It is suggested that suicide jokes can influence suicide behavior either by strengthening or weakening suicide motivation. Various mechanisms that may underlie the adaptive nature of such humor are considered through its relationship with the psychological factors of suicide risk. The article provides a hypothesis on how such humor can be used as a tool for suicide risk’s clinical diagnosis; it also discusses the reasons for suicide jokes’ popularity among adolescents.

Core–shell gold–silver cuboidal nanoparticles were produced, with either concave or straight facets. Their incubation with a low concentration of chiral l-glutathione (GSH) biomolecules was found to produce near UV plasmonic extinction and induced circular dichroism (CD) peaks. The effect is sensitive to the silver shell thickness. The GSH molecules were found to cause redistribution of silver in the shell, removing silver atoms from edges/corners and re-depositing them at the nanocuboid facets, probably through some redox and complexation processes between the silver and thiol group of the GSH. Other thiolated chiral biomolecules (and drug molecules) did not show this effect. The emerging near UV surface plasmon resonance is a silver slab resonance, which might also possess some multipolar resonance nature. The concave-shaped nanocuboids exhibited stronger induced plasmonic CD relative to the nanocuboids with straight facets. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Coronary artery disease (CAD) remains a top cause of morbidity and mortality nowadays. Current guidelines are used to deϐine timely diagnostic and management strategies for a patient with new angina symptom. According to the guidelines, the main purpose is assessment of the pretest probability of obstructive CAD. Exercise electrocardiography is the most accessible methodwith 85-90% speciϐicity and 45-50% sensitivity. Cardiopulmonary exercise testing (CPET) with concomitant monitoring of electrocardiogram, heart rate and blood pressure, expired gas analysis has become widespread among different exercise tests. CPET is an important clinical tool to estimate exercise capacity. In most cases it allowsto determine the causes of limited physical activity, evaluate both the blood supply (pulmonary, cardiovascular, haematopoietic systems) and tissue oxygen metabolism (skeletal muscle system) in response to physical exercise.The indications for invasive coronary angiography include: high clinical risk of CAD, symptoms which are refractory to medical therapy, low tolerance to exercise or if revascularization is considered for improvement of prognosis. The aim. To highlight the need for a combination of non-invasive stresstesting (CPET, stress echocardiography) and invasive testing (such as coronary angiography) to develop proper tactics of treating patients with established CAD. Conclusion. Described clinical case demonstrates preferences of combined different functional non-invasive tests (CPET, stress echocardiography) in a patient with confirmed CAD, who received prognosis modifying therapy and had high exercise tolerance due to regular cardio training. This gave the reason for postponing the repeated ICA to determine the dynamics of the progression of coronary atherosclerosis. However, when an anginal attack occurred and repeated urgent ICA was performed, it became necessary to perform coronary artery bypass grafting and, later, due to the continuation of anginal attacks and the presence of areas of ischemia, stenting of the trunk of the left coronary artery.

Abstract In a previous study, we showed that serine/threonine-protein kinase 4 (STK4) is involved in the control on proliferation and migration of endometrial cancer (EC) cells in vitro. In the present paper, we studied STK4 expression in EC tissues from a large cohort of patients to determine whether STK4 can serve as a marker for the aggressiveness and prognosis of EC. Tissue samples from patients with EC were examined for tumor type, grade, and stage. The STK4 protein expression in EC cells was assessed by immunohistochemistry and related to clinicopathological data of patients, such as progression and patient survival rate. The STK4 mRNA levels and its relation to the survival rate were analyzed also in publicly available databases. The STK4 gene expression was low at both, the mRNA and protein levels in EC, especially in serous tumors. Comparison of STK4 expression with the patient survival rate shows that the higher expression is associated with worse prognosis in serous EC, while no such dependence was found in endometrioid EC. Hence, the determination of the SKT4 expression pattern could be used as a putative prognostic marker for serous EC.

The human visual system, dependent on retinal cells, can be regarded as a complex combination of optical system and nervous system. Artificial retinal system could mimic the sensing and processing function of human eyes. Optically stimulated synaptic devices could serve as the building blocks for artificial retinas and subsequent information transmission system to brain. Herein, photonic synaptic transistors based on polycrystalline MoS2, which could simulate human visual perception and brain storage, are presented. Moreover, the photodetection range from visible light to near-infrared light of MoS2 multilayer could extend human eyes’ vision limitation to near-infrared light. Additionally, the photonic synaptic transistor shows an ultrafast speed within 5 μs and ultralow power consumption under optical stimuli about 40 aJ, several orders of magnitude lower than biological synapses (50 ms and 10 fJ). Furthermore, the backgate control could act as emotional modulation of the artificial brain to enhance or suppress memory function, i.e. the intensity of photoresponse. The proposed carrier trapping/detrapping as the main working mechanism is presented for the device. In addition, synaptic functionalities including short synaptic plasticity, long synaptic plasticity and paired-pulse facilitation could be successfully simulated based on the prepared device. Furthermore, the large difference between short synaptic plasticity and long synaptic plasticity reveals the better image pre-processing function of the prepared photonic synapses. The classical Pavlovian conditioning associated with the associative learning is successfully implemented as well. Therefore, the efficient and rich functionalities demonstrate the potential of the MoS2 synaptic device that integrates sensing-memory-preprocessing capabilities for realizing artificial neural networks with different emotions that mimic human retina and brain.

To maintain the functionality of fan blades, it is important to know the distribution of dynamic stresses in the blade, their amplitude and vibration frequency. Understanding of the dynamic loading pattern will allow us to determine under what conditions the engine was operated, to identify and prevent emergencies that could lead to the blade fracture. The purpose of this work is to understand the cause of the fan blade fracture that occurred during the engine ground start. Due to fractographic analysis of blade fragments it was revealed that the fracture occurred due to the initiation of fatigue cracks in blades. The place of crack initiation and parameters of crack growth were established, spectral analysis of the fracture was carried out. To establish the reason of fatigue crack initiation it was necessary to determine the dynamic state of the blades during their destruction. The sections of the second stage of stable crack growth, during which fatigue striations are formed, were determined using the fractographic method. Using the spacing of the fatigue striations and Paris's law, the crack stress intensity range was determined. Modeling of crack propagation in the blade was carried out to define the stress state. The ability to determine the stress intensity factor at each step of crack growth and its comparison with research data made this work possible. The simulation showed under what conditions manifold increase in stresses occurs and made it possible to obtain the expected value of vibration amplitude. Additional modal analysis showed a resonant form that caused the fatigue nature of crack propagation. The demonstrated approach established crack growth conditions and revealed the cause of blade fracture.

Purpose. Gestational trophoblastic disease (GTD) coexisting with a steadily progressing pregnancy is an extremely rare condition presented in the literature as a single case or case series of successful delivery. The purpose of this study was to describe five cases of GTD and present possible management strategies for such patients. Methods. Clinical data of five pregnancies with coexisting GTD were identified within the Almazov National Medical Research Centre from 2018 to 2021. Results. Three cases of multiple pregnancies with complete hydatidiform moles and two cases of singleton pregnancies with intraplacental choriocarcinoma and invasive hydatidiform moles were identified. Three pregnancies were prolonged and ended with preterm deliveries. Malignant transformation of the GTD accounted for 60% of the cases. The condition of newborns was based on the level of prematurity and functional immaturity, and in all cases, it was aggravated by anemia. Conclusion. GTD coexisting with progressing pregnancy is threatened by the risks of preterm delivery, miscarriage, hemorrhage, and disease progression and requires monitoring in a multidisciplinary clinic experienced in the management of patients with malignant tumors during pregnancy. In cases of prolonged pregnancy against the background of GTD, we suggest the following monitoring during pregnancy: pelvic, abdominal ultrasound/MRI (without contrast), prenatal invasive fetal karyotype testing in cases of singleton pregnancy, lung X-ray/CT with uterine shielding, weekly assessment of β-hCG levels, and dynamic monitoring of the fetus. The following postnatal monitoring should be performed: morphological examination of the placenta, weekly assessment of β-hCG levels up to normalization, then monthly assessment up to six months, and control of β-hCG level of the newborn.

Endometriosis of the anterior abdominal wall is a rare disease comprising 0.3–3.5 %. In turn, its diagnosis is quite challenging due to the nonspecific picture, including pain in the anterior abdominal wall during menstruation. Upon clinical examination, a thickened area may be observed in the anterior abdominal wall, usually in the area of tissue involved in surgery. Ultrasound examination is a simple, economical, and reliable method of choice to diagnose extragenital endometriosis. Here we describe a case report of the patient after surgery of anterior abdominal endometriosis localized in the rectus abdominis muscle in the umbilical region and confirmed by ultrasound test and morphological examination of excised macroscopic sample.

This article examines the motives for Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine. The topic is explored through five principles developed by Kenneth Burke to analyse motives: act, scene, agent, agency and purpose. The major claim is that the war is being waged to ensure the longevity of the Putin regime and so allow the corrupt and power-hungry political elite to retain their positions. The kleptocratic state is kept afloat by means of waging war only through a system which can implicate wealthy and powerful individuals in serious crimes at any moment, suppresses dissent and produces expansive propaganda for the broader population. This war is a result of the privatisation of the political state and its deliberate transformation into the state of nature, which poses a threat not only to Ukraine, but to Russia itself and the entire world. Developing a security solution for spatial files within today's enterprise Geographical Information System (GIS) that is also usable presents a multifaceted challenge. These files exist in "data silos" of different file server types, resulting in limited collaboration and increased vulnerability. While cloud-based data storage offers many benefits, the associated security concerns have limited its uptake in GIS, making it crucial to explore comparable alternative security solutions that can be deployed on-premise and are also usable. This paper introduces a reasonably usable security solution for spatial files within collaborative enterprise GIS. We explore a Database File System (DBFS) as a potential repository to consolidate and manage spatial files based on its enterprise document management capabilities and security features inherited from the underlying legacy DBMS. These files are protected using the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) algorithm with practical encryption times of 8 MB per second. The final part focuses on an automated encryption solution with schemes for single- and multi-user files that is compatible with various GIS programs and protocol services. Usability testing is carried out to assess the solution's usability and focuses on effectiveness, efficiency, and user satisfaction, with the results demonstrating its usability based on the minimal changes it makes to how users work in a collaborative enterprise GIS environment. Praying mantises are the apex insect predators in many ecosystems, nevertheless they receive relatively less recognition in biodiversity reviews. We report a first survey of diversity of praying mantises in Cameroon, which is situated in the Congo Basin region, one of the richest biodiversity hotspots. Combination of light trapping with manual collecting resulted in 495 specimens representing 62 species. A total of eight species are novel for the country, at least five species are likely undescribed. DNA barcodes of 72 specimens representing every collected species were obtained, curated, and submitted to NCBI database. For eight species, barcodes are published for the first time. A maximum likelihood phylogenetic tree was created using all available barcodes of Mantodea of Central African subregion. The results obtained during this study stress the importance of combining traditional and molecular approaches during biodiversity assessments of often neglected taxa, the latter aiding in uncovering new species, resolving unknown morphological divergencies and assigning conspecifics. Introduction. Perinatal mortality in multiple pregnancies increases by 8–10 times compared to singletons. Stillbirth is a significant part of all complications of multiple pregnancies. Although the incidence of perinatal mortality in multiple pregnancies has decreased consistently compared to extremely high rates in the past, it remains relatively high, despite significant positive changes in the management of such pregnancies. Aim: to assess the diagnostic potential of the first trimester's biochemical screening in multiple pregnancies for predicting antenatal fetal death. Materials and Methods. As part of a retrospective study, a cohort of twin pregnancies after in vitro fertilization (IVF), intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI), or spontaneous conception underwent screening of the first trimester at 11+0–13+6 weeks of gestation as recommended by the Fetal Medicine Foundation. Determination of pregnancy-associated plasma protein-A (PAPP-A) in blood serum with subsequent calculation of the relative PAPP-A MoM (multiples of median) – a multiple of the median (an indicator of how much the individual test result deviates from the reference values) was performed. Results. Prenatal screening and outcomes of 302 multiple pregnancies showed that with PAPP-A MoM < 0.5, antenatal fetal death occurred with a frequency of 42.86 % (6/14), with PAPP-A MoM within the reference values – In 12.67 % (28/221), with PAPP-A MoM > 2.0 – in 6.7 % (2/30). Differences between patients with PAPP-A MoM < 0.5 and PAPP-A MoM within the reference values, as well as PAPP-A MoM < 0.5 and PAPP-A MoM > 2.0 were statistically significant (p = 0.002 and p = 0.004, respectively). No differences were detected between spontaneous and assisted reproductive technology (ART) pregnancies. Conclusion. In women with multiple pregnancies resulting from ART or spontaneous, PAPP-A MoM values below the reference interval (< 0.5) in the first trimester are associated with an increased risk of antenatal fetal death.

We invoke healthcare professionals to make decisions deserving independent primary source trust presented by original scientific papers published in peer-reviewed journals, clinical recommendations proposed by professional medical communities as well as treatment standards and protocols.
