A presente pesquisa busca apresentar elementos para a ação evangelizadora da Igreja em Comunidades Eclesiais Missionárias à luz da pneumatologia do Papa Francisco, a fim de contribuir para o enfrentamento da ruptura geracional na transmissão da fé. Pretende-se refletir sobre a relevância de fomentar evangelizadores que vivam a santidade no Espírito e encarnada, inspirados na recepção do Concílio Vaticano II, nas exortações apostólicas Evangelli Gaudium e Gaudete et Exsultate do Papa Francisco e nas Diretrizes Gerais da Ação Evangelizadora da Igreja do Brasil propostas pela Conferência Nacional dos Bispos do Brasil para 2019-2023, as quais vigoram até 2025. Pretende-se culminar com uma reflexão sobre os desafios que o tema da sinodalidade propõe para a vida da Igreja atual

A presente pesquisa visa analisar a experiência eclesial de Santa Teresa de Jesus, sua experiência dolorosa e o contexto eclesial marcado pela Reforma Protestante. Em seguida, é abordado seu itinerário místico, no qual se percebe que sua consciência eclesial vai se alargando a ponto de compreender-se como filha da Igreja. O objetivo deste estudo consiste em analisar, sobretudo, o caráter eminentemente cristológico da eclesiologia teresiana. Na visão de Teresa, a Igreja congrega os bons amigos de Cristo, que sendo fiéis ao Mestre, estão dispostos a entregar sua própria vida por Ele

O aggiornamento eclesial intencionado pelo Concílio Vaticano II aprofunda a autoconsciência da Igreja em ser serva da humanidade. Essa nova postura propicia que a igreja se aproxime e dialogue com a sociedade contemporânea. A presente pesquisa pretende abordar, brevemente, o impulso conciliar e pós-conciliar na relação entre o magistério da Igreja e as ciências naturais. Para isso, percorre o cenário pré-conciliar a partir de alguns pronunciamentos oficiais do magistério eclesial, os quais refletem uma postura paradoxal de desconfiança e abertura. Em seguida, o foco é o Concílio Vaticano II, especialmente a Gaudium et Spes que reconhece a autonomia das realidades terrenas como paradigma da relação entre o magistério eclesial e as ciências naturais. As polarizações ideológicas e as crispações religiosas e políticas do contexto atual trazem ao debate a necessidade de uma educação para a paz que seja trabalhada com dedicação e sistematicidade, em perspectiva multidisciplinar. As experiências religiosas, ambíguas e complexas, potencialmente podem mobilizar tanto para a construção da paz, quanto para a propagação da intolerância e da violência. Essas e outras dinâmicas de hospitalidade e hostilidade em curso na sociedade hodierna, trazem à tona a necessidade de aprofundar as categorias de encontro e diálogo para a formação ética da pessoa como ser de relação, que considera o outro em sua diversidade e se orienta ao bem-viver na perspectiva da paz. Além disso, as distinções entre laicidade e laicismo fazem ver o laicismo como uma visão reducionista da laicidade e uma aversão em relação às manifestações religiosas na ambiência pública. Por fim, é interessante refletirsobre a contribuição dos princípios e valores cristãos na formação de sujeitos ena promoção de processos de edificação da paz

Segundo Claude Geffré, Pentecostes é a imagem bíblica neotestamentária que afirma a manifestação pluriforme do desígnio de Deus, em contraposição à imagem bíblica veterotestamentária de Babel, expressão da idolatria monolítica de uma humanidade que se coloca no lugar de Deus. O fenômeno da religião em sua expressão plural é uma questão intransponível para a razão teológica contemporânea. Partindo das obras Crer e interpretar e De Babel a Pentecostes de Geffré, e em diálogo com autores correlacionados, o presente texto pretende refletir sobre a necessidade de um diálogo entre as religiões no contexto de uma sociedade globalizada. A construção de um ecumenismo planetário e de um ethos mundial depende disso. É preciso superar toda forma de fundamentalismo escriturístico e de integrismo doutrinal que são atitudes perniciosas para a convivência humana sadia a nível planetário

A divisão entre os cristãos é uma realidade dramática. É urgente uma nova concepção identitária que prescinda de uma perspectiva polêmica e apologética, para abraçar uma postura mais fraternal e dialógica. Pensar ecumenicamente, segundo Wolff, requer disposição para entender as razões do outro, para receber críticas e para mudar de opinião caso seja necessário. Convivência, cooperação e diálogo são correlatos de toda ação ecumênica. Geffré propõe algumas condições para o diálogo ecumênico: respeito às diferenças, fidelidade à própria identidade, reconhecimento de certa igualdade entre os interlocutores e busca de pontos em comum sobre os quais se possam estabelecer acordos. Por coerência, os cristãos nunca deveriam renunciar à luta pela justiça, pelos direitos humanos e pela paz, e somente unidos terão chances de persistir nessa empreitada. Segundo Von Sinner, três valores ajudam no empenho ecumênico em busca da paz: confiança, esperança e serviço. A cooperação entre os cristãos no serviço à promoção humana e à busca da paz é o princípio e a culminância do empenho ecumênico

Para John Rawls é primordialmente importante para o Direito dos Povos que a justiça seja assegurada pela estabilidade de sociedades liberais e decentes. Uma intervenção militar com fins humanitários ou autodefesa seria uma resposta legítima aos abusos perpetrados pelos grupos ou Estados “fora da lei”, na medida em que fomentam a guerra e o terrorismo, o que poderia ser caracterizada como uma instância de “guerra justa”. A hermenêutica política emerge no espaço de razão pública onde se propõe a conciliação e o acordo entre as doutrinas religiosas e as concepções abrangentes de bem comum, com seus conflitos e incompatibilidades. O liberalismo político busca acomodar tal pluralidade de doutrinas abrangentes razoáveis através do consenso sobreposto. Claude Geffré propõe uma teologia com orientação hermenêutica como uma nova postura política diante do pluralismo hodierno. O enigma da alteridade plural das concepções religiosas manifesta a riqueza espiritual da vivência humana do divino, porém, levanta importantes questionamentos para a convivência social. Rawls e Geffré convergem quanto ao problema hermenêutico da justificação normativa postulada num contexto pluralista de reconhecimento do outro e de tolerância em face às querelas irreconciliáveis

A idealização da comunidade cristã em Atos dos Apóstolos enfatiza alguns elementos fundamentais da Igreja primitiva: a perseverança no ensinamento dos apóstolos, a comunhão fraterna, a partilha e a vida espiritual. O Concílio Vaticano II objetivou um aggiornamento da Igreja em vista das novas necessidades pastorais. Levou a termo a tarefa de definir a natureza da Igreja na nova situação histórica emergente. A Lumen Gentium e a Gaudium et Spes são constituições conciliares de fundamental importância na renovação da autoconsciência da Igreja. A Igreja enquanto comunidade que escuta e anuncia a Palavra de Deus, tem a grande missão de evangelizar. É fundamental evangelizar com inteligência, levando a mensagem de Cristo a todos os povos. A missão é ecumênica, pois se destina a toda a humanidade. A diversidade e a variedade enriquecem a humanidade

Para Acosta a fé explícita em Cristo é condição necessária para a salvação. No confronto de narrativas é preciso convencer. A religião como sistema simbólico de crenças e práticas situa-se dentro de uma cultura, sendo a educação metódica, empenhada, paciente e perseverante, algo determinante na formação dos costumes cristãos, na gradualidade

Since the Nobel prize winning discovery that polyacetylene could act as a semiconductor, there has been tremendous efforts dedicated to understanding and harnessing the unusual properties of π‐conjugated polymers. Much of this research has focused on the preparation of oligoynes and polyynes with well‐defined numbers of repeating alkyne units as models for carbyne. These studies are usually hampered by a structure‐property relationship where the stability of the resulting materials decrease with the incorporation of additional alkyne units. Here, we describe a series of oligoynes, with up to 12 alkyne units, where electron‐rich [Pt(PBu3)2]2+ units are incorporated at the center of the oligoyne backbones which are capped by electron‐poor BF2 formazanate dyes. These compounds exhibit excellent stability and solubility, panchromatic absorption, and redox activity characteristic of their structural components. These traits facilitated thin‐film studies of extended oligoyne materials, where it is shown that incorporating [Pt(PBu3)2]2+ units leads to smoother films, decreased conductivity on the microscale, and increased conductivity on the nanoscale when compared to metal‐free analogs. Remarkably, our oligoynes have superior conductivity compared to the ubiquitous poly(3‐hexylthiophene) semiconductor. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Organic electroactive materials, particularly semiconducting polymers, are at the forefront of emerging organic electronics. Among the plethora of unique features, the possibility to formulate inks out of these materials is particularly promising for the large‐scale manufacturing of electronics at lower cost on a variety of soft substrates. While solution deposition of semiconducting materials is promising for developing printed electronics, the environmental footprint of the materials and related devices needs to be considered to achieve sustainable manufacturing. Towards the development of greener printed electronics, this work investigates the utilization of a non‐toxic, environmentally‐friendly solvent, namely branched polyethylene (BPE), to formulate semiconducting inks. Focusing on a diketopyrrolopyrrole‐based (DPP) semiconducting polymer, shellac as dielectric, and BPE as the solvent, solutions were prepared in different concentrations and their rheological properties were characterized. Then, printing on polyethylene terephthalate (PET) substrates using two different techniques was performed to fabricate organic field‐effect transistors (OFETs). Both printing techniques yielded OFETs with good performance and device characteristics, averaging approximately 10−2 and 10−4 cm2 V−1 s−1, respectively, for slot‐die coating and direct‐ink writing deposition. Notably, despite some difference in threshold voltages, OFETs produced via slot‐die coating and direct‐ink writing showed comparable charge mobilities to previously reported OFETs prepared from similar materials, particularly those prepared on silicon dioxide wafers. Overall, this work confirms the suitability of BPE to formulate semiconducting inks to develop printed electronics in a greener manner. Throughout Mycobacterium leprae's (M. leprae) evolutionary trajectory, nearly half of its genome was converted into pseudogenes. Despite this drastic reduction in genetic content, the genome sequence identity among M. leprae isolates worldwide is remarkably high compared to other pathogens. In this study, we investigated the genotype and morphotype of three M. leprae strains: the reference strain Thai-53 (genotype 1A), and two clinical isolates from Brazilian leprosy relapse patients, which were Br014-03 (genotypes 3I) and Br014-01(4N). We compared their genome sequences and their interaction with human Schwann cells from the ST88-14 lineage and with human primary macrophages. On the genetic level, we observed over a hundred missense mutations in the three strains, translated into significant phenotypic changes such as: prolonged doubling time, altered cytokine induction, reduced interaction rates, and decreased intracellular viability in Schwann cells. Our findings underscore the concept that despite their 99.992% identity, even small genomic disparities in M. leprae genomes can elicit substantial alterations in bacilli interaction with host cells and subsequent immune responses. Consequently, our data could lead to better comprehension of correlation between pathogen mutations and the diverse clinical manifestations observed in leprosy patients. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background: Atherosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease (ASCVD) is a global public health concern. This study aimed to estimate the healthcare resource utilization (HRU) and costs stratified by cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk categories using real-world evidence, in a regional population in Portugal. Methods: This is a retrospective observational study, using data from Electronic Health Records between 2017 and 2021. Patients aged ≥ 40 years, and with at least one general practitioner (GP) appointment in the 3 years before 31st of December 2019, were included. CVD risk categories were determined based on 2021 ESC prevention guidelines. HRU encompassed hospital data (hospitalizations, outpatient and emergency room visits) and GP appointments. Total direct costs per patient were calculated based on the reference cost of the Portuguese legislation for payment methodology on Diagnosis-Related Groups (DRGs). Results: Analysis of 3 122 695 episodes, revealed consistent HRU and costs across the five years. Very high-risk patients, showed higher HRU, particularly in hospital admissions. Costs tended to rise with higher CVD risk level. Very high-risk patients with ASCVD had higher costs for hospital admissions, while low-to-moderate risk patients had higher costs for GP visits. Despite a smaller proportion, very high-risk patients with prior ASCVD represent the highest costs per patient across healthcare settings (from 115€ in emergency visits to 2 673€ in hospitalizations), followed by very high-risk patients without prior ASCVD (ASCVD-risk equivalents). Conclusion: This study revealed a substantial HRU and costs by patients with very high CVD risk, particularly those with prior ASCVD. Moreover, ASCVD-risk equivalents emerge as notable consumers, emphasizing the importance of risk assessment and preventive measures in cost-effective management of these patients. Background: Parkinson's Disease significantly impacts health-related quality of life, with the Parkinson's Disease Questionnaire-39 extensively used for its assessment. However, predicting such outcomes remains a challenge due to the subjective nature and variability in patient experiences. This study develops a machine learning model using accessible clinical data to enable predictions of life-quality outcomes in Parkinson's Disease and utilizes explainable machine learning techniques to identify key influencing factors, offering actionable insights for clinicians. Methods: Data from the Parkinson's Real-world Impact Assessment study (PRISM), involving 861 patients across six European countries, were analyzed. After excluding incomplete data, 627 complete observations were used for the analysis. An ensemble machine learning model was developed with a 90% training and 10% validation split. Results: The model demonstrated a Mean Absolute Error of 4.82, a Root Mean Squared Error of 8.09, and an R2 of 0.75 in the training set, indicating a strong model fit. In the validation set, the model achieved a Mean Absolute Error of 11.22, a Root Mean Squared Error of 13.99, and an R2 of 0.36, showcasing moderate variation. Key predictors such as age at diagnosis, patient's country, dementia, and patient's age were identified, providing insights into the model's decision-making process. Conclusions: This study presents a robust model capable of predicting the impact of Parkinson's Disease on patients' quality of life using common clinical variables. These results demonstrate the potential of machine learning to enhance clinical decision-making and patient care, suggesting directions for future research to improve model generalizability and applicability. Cisplatin is widely employed for cancer treatment; therefore, understanding resistance to this drug is critical for therapeutic practice. While studies have delved into differential gene expression in the context of cisplatin resistance, findings remain somewhat scant. We performed a comprehensive investigation of transposable elements (TEs) expression and their impact in host genes in two cisplatin-treated ovarian cancer cell lines. RNA-seq, ATAC-seq, and in-depth bioinformatics analysis were used to compare cisplatin-sensitive and -resistant ovarian cancer cell lines. Our results reveal that cisplatin therapy alters not only the expression of protein-coding genes, but also key TEs, including LINE1, Alu , and endogenous retroviruses, in both cisplatin-sensitive and -resistant cell lines. By co-expressing with downstream genes or by creating chimeric transcripts with host genes at their insertion sites, these TEs seem to control the expression of protein-coding genes, including tumor-related genes. Our model uncovers TEs influencing the expression of cancer genes and cancer pathways. Collectively, our findings indicate that TE alterations associated with cisplatin treatment occur in critical cancer genes and cellular pathways synergically. This research highlights the importance of considering the entire spectrum of transcribed elements in the genome, especially TE expression, for a complete understanding of complex models like cancer response to treatment. Due to the similar characteristics of chaotic systems and cryptography, public key encryption algorithms based on chaotic systems are worth in-depth research and have high value for the future. Chebyshev polynomials have good properties and are often used in the design of public key algorithms. This paper improves the Bose Multi-Chaotic Public Key Cryptographic Algorithm (BMPKC) by applying Chebyshev polynomials. The proposed algorithm (CMPKC- k i ) introduces the selective coefficient k i based on the properties of Chebyshev polynomials, allowing the special functions that need to be negotiated in the original system to be freely and randomly chosen as Chebyshev polynomials, and can also be expanded to m levels. The improved cryptographic algorithm also utilizes chaotic hash functions and logistic mapping to generate pseudo-random sequences and overcomes shortcomings of the Bose algorithm by iteratively iterating the selected Chebyshev polynomials based on the number of 0s or 1s in the pseudo-random sequence, thus providing better security. Analysis and software testing results indicate that this algorithm has strong robustness against brute force attacks, achieving a higher attack time for breaking the private key compared to the CEPKC, BMPKC, and CMPKC algorithms. Compared to the CMPKC algorithm, our proposal algorithm achieves better performance in the encryption and decryption phases. Furthermore, we combine this Multi-Chaotic System Key Exchange Protocol with the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) algorithm, while providing a demonstration, offering more possibilities for practical applications of this system. The aims of this study were to assess the impact of exclusive breastfeeding up to 6 months of age on reducing the incidence of overweight and obesity in children up to 10 years of age and to estimate the annual incidence of obesity and overweight in the study population. Our retrospective cohort analysis using electronic health records included children from zero to ten years old, born between 1 January 2006 and 31 December 2022, followed up at the Unidade Local de Saúde de Matosinhos (ULSM). Information on their comorbidity history was collected, and positive or negative control results were defined. In the first year of life, around 29% of the children on exclusive breastfeeding were obese and 20% were overweight. This trend was reversed by the age of 9. Asthma and allergic rhinitis were used as positive control outcomes and allergic dermatitis as a negative control outcome. There seems to be no relationship between exclusive and non-exclusive breastfeeding and the development of overweight or obesity at the age of 10. Polyglutamine spinocerebellar ataxias (PolyQ SCAs) represent a group of monogenetic diseases in which the expanded polyglutamine repeats give rise to a mutated protein. The abnormally expanded polyglutamine protein produces aggregates and toxic species, causing neuronal dysfunction and neuronal death. The main symptoms of these disorders include progressive ataxia, motor dysfunction, oculomotor impairment, and swallowing problems. Nowadays, the current treatments are restricted to symptomatic alleviation, and no existing therapeutic strategies can reduce or stop the disease progression. Even though the origin of these disorders has been associated with polyglutamine‐induced toxicity, RNA toxicity has recently gained relevance in polyQ SCAs molecular pathogenesis. Therefore, the research's focus on RNA metabolism has been increasing, especially on RNA‐binding proteins (RBPs). The present review summarizes RNA metabolism, exposing the different processes and the main RBPs involved. We also explore the mechanisms by which RBPs are dysregulated in PolyQ SCAs. Finally, possible therapies targeting the RNA metabolism are presented as strategies to reverse neuropathological anomalies and mitigate physical symptoms. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
