ABSTRACT Knowledge Management is a field of research that seeks to articulate the intricate relationship between the various organizational dimensions that influence in favor of knowledge. Measurement, as a dimension of this management, proposes to measure the level or capacity of knowledge management in organizational locus. However, the instruments for this purpose are expressed without an apparent psychometric assessment, as well as they do not articulate the holistic perspective, embodied by the totality of the critical dimensions for the success of this management. In the meantime, this research aims to build and validate an instrument for assessing holistic Knowledge Management. So, this is descriptive research with a quantitative approach, which makes use of the perception of four expert judges concerning the aspects of clarity, coherence, and pertinence of the statements of the constructed instrument. These aspects were analyzed using the Content Validation Coefficient method and must be equal to or greater than 0.70 to certify the quality of the questionnaire. The results express that the total coefficients, composed of all instrument items, are 0.87, 0.94, and 0.95 for each aspect, respectively, attesting to the quality of that instrument. Thus, this questionnaire can be applied for purposes of organizational diagnosis, which is an opportunity for future research.

Background: Question Answering (QA) systems enable users to retrieve exact answers for questions posed in natural language. Objective: This study aims at identifying QA techniques, tools and systems, as well as the metrics and indicators used to measure these approaches for QA systems and also to determine how the relationship between Question Answering and natural language processing is built. Method: The method adopted was a Systematic Literature Review of studies published from 2000 to 2017. Results: 130 out of 1842 papers have been identified as describing a QA approach developed and evaluated with different techniques. Conclusion: Question Answering researchers have concentrated their efforts in natural language processing, knowledge base and information retrieval paradigms. Most of the researches focused on open domain. Regarding the metrics used to evaluate the approaches, Precision and Recall are the most addressed.

For many years, plant engineers have used data collected from industrial sensors for supporting the diagnosis of failures. Recently, data scientists are using these data to make predictions on industrial processes. However, the meaning and the relationships of each specific sensor is unknown to people outside the engineering context. Conventional approaches to create a semantic layer for industrial sensors require a rigid “term alignment” followed by a lot of manual efforts. Hence, the problem is frequently set aside by industries. However, this condition limits the usage of advanced analytics tools in industries, preventing the capture of potential benefits. Since there are naming conventions and some other rules defined by engineers, this study takes these standards into account and analyze the metadata of sensors intending to automate the creation of a semantic middleware able to indicate the meaning of each sensor and its relationships with other sensors, equipments, areas, plants and other entities. This study intends to answer the following research question: Which approach could automate the creation of a semantic middleware for industrial sensors? In order to address the objectives of this study, we performed an empirical research using sensor metadata from three different plants from a mining company. As a result, we present MINDSense, a method that creates an ontology capable of describing the meaning of industrial sensors and its relationships. We conclude that this method contributes to leverage advanced analytics in industries and to increase the potential of new studies on top of industrial sensors data.

Dos principais padrões em sistemas de Registro Eletrônico de Saúde (RES), destaca-se a abordagem da Fundação openEHR. Este trabalho apresenta uma Revisão Sistemática da Literatura dos estudos que utilizam esta abordagem com ênfase na utilização do seu Modelo de Objetos. A pesquisa foi realizada nas bases de dados internacionais com base em quatro questões de pesquisa e critérios de inclusão e exclusão definidos. Entre os resultados obtidos, foi possível observar que o continente europeu é o maior centro dos estudos relacionados com a abordagem openEHR, com exceção da Austrália na Oceania. Pode-se concluir que uma versão estável da especificação openEHR contribuiu para o aumento de estudos a partir de 2008. Em relação às métricas de software aplicadas ao modelo do openEHR, até a realização deste trabalho, não se observaram estudos dessa natureza. Além disso, esta revisão possibilitou relacionar as ferramentas para coleta de métricas disponíveis na literatura.

Este artigo apresenta a Análise de Redes Sociais (ARS) como um método a ser aplicado em estudos na ciência da informação (CI), inclusive para a compreensão da estruturação da pesquisa nessa área do conhecimento. Esta é, normalmente, apresentada como uma área do conhecimento interdisciplinar, e as diferentes linhas de pesquisa existentes nos Programas de Pós-Graduação, no Brasil, recebem influências de diferentes áreas do conhecimento. A aplicação da ARS no estudo da rede de co-autoria dos professores do PPGCI/UFMG permite tanto a apresentação do método, quanto a obtenção de resultados empíricos para alimentar a discussão sobre a CI. As redes de colaboração entre os professores refletem, em tese, a participação em programas de pesquisa da área. A colaboração entre professores das diferentes linhas se relaciona com a integração das diferentes interdisciplinaridades que elas apresentam. O artigo expõe, inicialmente, uma discussão sobre a interdisciplinaridade na CI; em seguida dá uma visão geral da ARS e apresenta estudos da área, destacando-se a análise de redes de co-autoria. Finalmente, descreve-se a metodologia da pesquisa e os principais resultados obtidos da ARS. A conclusão destaca os resultados e reforça a importância da ARS como método para a CI, o qual pode ser explorado com sucesso, inclusive em pesquisas sobre redes de co-autoria e interdisciplinaridade.This paper discusses the Social Network Analysis (SNA) as a method to be broadly applied in Information Science (IS) research. Information science is normally considered as an interdisciplinary field. In this regard, research lines that comprise the research work in post-graduate programs in Brazil are influenced by different fields of knowledge. The co-authorship analysis of professors networks in the post-graduate program in information science at the University of Minas Gerais (PPGCI/UFMG) carried out by using SNA had a twofold output. The first one was to present the method itself. The second, to obtain empirical results that can be used to implement the discussion about the discipline. Collaborative networks between professors from different research lines is related to the integration of interdisciplinary characteristics found in the disciplines themselves. The article briefly presents the interdisciplinary nature of IS and gives an overview of the theoretical basis of SNA. Moreover, it presents studies about subject-matters related to IS, particularly the co-authorship network analysis. Finally, the methodological approach of this research and the main results are presented. In conclusion, the authors stress the benefits brought about by the use of SNA as a methodological tool. It can actually be fruitfully explored to support researches in both co-authorship networks and debates about Information Science and its interdisciplinary nature.

This science is, normally, presented as an interdisciplinary filed, but the reseaches lines conducted in Brazil have differents relationship with other disciplines, and doing so, dis-similars interdisciplinaries characteristics. The analysis of the co-authorship network of the professors of the PPGCI/UFMG emphasizes both, the strenght of the methodology and the characteristics of the colaboration in the IS. The article gives an overview of the theoretical basis of the SNA, and presents studies about subjects related to the Information Science field that are done applying SNA, mainly the co-authorship network analysis. Finally, the methodological approach of this research and the main results are presented.

Resumo A Web semântica possui a finalidade de otimizar a recuperação dos documentos, sendo que estes recebem significados, permitindo que tanto as pessoas quanto as máquinas possam compreender o significado de uma informação. A anotação semântica de entidades é o caminho para promover mais semântica em documentos. O objetivo do artigo é propor uma abordagem que possibilite anotar automaticamente entidades nos Currículo Lattes de pesquisadores por meio de bases de dados abertas (Linked Open Data), as quais armazenam o significado de termos e expressões. O problema da pesquisa está baseado em saber quais são os conceitos associados à Web Semântica que podem contribuir para a Anotação Semântica Automática do Currículo, Lattes utilizando o Linked Open Data (LOD). Na pesquisa foram apresentados conceitos, ferramentas e tecnologias relativas ao tema. A aplicação destes conceitos possibilitou a criação do Sistema Lattes Web Semântico. Um experimento empírico foi realizado com o objetivo de identificar a ferramenta de extração de entidade mais efetiva. O sistema possibilita a importação do currículo XML da Plataforma Lattes, efetua a anotação automática dos dados disponibilizados utilizando as bases de dados abertas e possibilita efetuar consultas semânticas.

Apresenta a metodologia e os resultados preliminares da análise da co-autoria na área de ciência da informação no Brasil, através do uso da técnica conhecida como análise de rede social - ARS - , como parte do projeto RedeCI. Os resultados indicam a concentração de artigos com autoria única e de autores transientes. O número de autores com apenas uma contribuição é significativo e o resultado segue a Lei de Lotka. Os diferentes índices de centralidade na rede têm baixo índice de correlação entre si. Futuros desenvolvimentos permitirão uma boa compreensão dos colégios invisíveis existentes na área da ciência da informação.

Resumo This paper compiles the latest knowledge management (KM) studies that had financial performance correlated in the last years, shows main financial indicators used and provides insights and rich context to deepen evaluation. The method adopted was a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) on studies published from 2009 to May 2015. Many topics were analised in the selected papers of this research. Firstly, KM practices found were categorized according to Ho (2009). Secondly, the financial indicators used were compared to indicators identified by Combs; Crook; Shook (2005). Thirdly, the most frequently measures used in the relationship between KM practices and financial performance were identified. Finally, we highlighted the most used methods to evaluate impact of KM in FP, evaluation of number of Publications per year and evaluation of Authors, Publishers. The paper finds that in despite of increasing number of publications correlating both topics the effects of KM in financial performance has to be more explored. However, majority of paper reports certain improvement in financial performance of companies that strongly support KM.
