Computational thinking (CT), an essential competency for comprehending and addressing intricate issues in the digital world, has been incorporated into curriculum planning as a goal for programming education. This study introduced flow design into programming curricula to investigate its impact on undergraduates 'CT skills during pair work. Two types of flow design approaches, construct-by-self flow design (CBS-FD) and construct-on-scaffold flow design (COS-FD), were proposed to determine which approach better enhances students' CT skills. Seventy-six first-year undergraduates participated, including thirty in the CBS group and thirty-six in the COS group. Evaluations made from the results and processes of programming tasks were employed to describe computational performance and computational practices, respectively. Data gathered from CT skill surveys were thoroughly analyzed to gain a deeper understanding of computational perspectives. Our findings highlighted that COS-FD significantly improved participants' computational performance compared with CBS-FD. The COS groups fostered an engaging, sharing atmosphere, while CBS groups spent more energy on negotiating the manipulation of flow design. Moreover, both COS-FD and CBS-FD proved beneficial in enhancing participants' computational perspectives, with the COS groups better improving their algorithm thinking. It is crucial to explore the impact of dietary interventions on depression and develop functional antidepressant foods, due to the significant side effects and poor treatment compliance of antidepressant drugs. Osmanthus fragrans flowers are edible and medicinal materials owing to their delightful floral aroma and significant health benefits. Here, we evaluated the antidepressant effects of the ethanolic extract of O. fragrans var. thunbergii flowers (OFE) and investigated the mechanisms of action on the serotonin system and neuroinflammation, and analyzed the main chemical components of OFE. A single administration of OFE significantly reduced the immobility duration in the forced swimming and tail suspension tests in mice without affecting locomotor activity. OFE exhibited selective enhancing effects on 5‐HTergic function in vivo, as demonstrated by its potentiating effects on 5‐hydroxytryptophan (5‐HTP)‐induced head‐twitch behavior and alleviation effects on reserpine‐induced ptosis deficits. In addition, OFE increased 5‐hydroxytryptamine (5‐HT) concentration and upregulated 5‐HT1A expression in reserpine‐treated mice, further validating its effects on 5‐HT transmission. Interestingly, OFE significantly alleviated microglia activation and the production of inflammatory mediators, both in reserpine‐treated mice in vivo and lipopolysaccharide (LPS)‐stimulated BV‐2 cells in vitro. Additionally, 62 components in OFE were identified using ultra‐performance liquid chromatography quadrupole time‐of‐flight high‐resolution mass spectrometry, and glycoside derivatives were shown to be the major constituents of OFE. The present study showed that OFE can alleviate depressive‐like behaviors by modulating the serotonin system and reducing neuroinflammation. Aim: This study explores the efficacy of electroacupuncture (EA) in treating cerebral palsy (CP) in Sprague–Dawley (SD) pups, specifically CP animal models, and its molecular mechanisms. Methods: Gait analysis and Y‐maze were used to detect the improvement of motor ability and cognitive function of CP rats after EA treatment. Transcription sequencing was used to determine the key pathway for EA to improve the symptoms of CP. PPAR agonists were used to verify the causal relationship between the pathway and the improvement of CP phenotype. Results: The motor ability and cognitive function of CP pups were improved after EA treatment. The results of transcriptome sequencing suggest that the improvement of CP phenotype may be caused by the activation of PPAR pathway. PPAR pathway is widely activated in the epithelium of CP pups treated with EA, which is verified by qPCR. Rosiglitazone (Ros), a PPAR agonist, can improve CP phenotype while activating PPAR pathway, which proves the causal relationship between PPAR pathway activation and CP phenotype improvement. Conclusion: Our study demonstrated behavioral improvements and enhanced cognitive functions in CP models after EA treatment by activating PPAR pathway, suggesting new perspectives for CP rehabilitation, and providing theoretical support for acupuncture treatment of CP. Estimating the impact of pesticide residue bioaccessibility in fruits on dietary exposure is a complex task in human health risk assessment. This research investigated the bioaccessibility of ten commonly used and detected pesticides in bananas and mangoes, as well as the factors influencing it, using an in vitro model. The highest bioaccessibility was observed at pH levels of 2.5 and 6.5 in the gastric and intestinal stages, respectively. Bioaccessibility decreased significantly with increasing solid/liquid ratios for most pesticides. The consumption of protein and four dietary components (carbohydrates, protein, lipids, and dietary fiber) could significantly reduce pesticide bioaccessibility by 9.89–48.32% (p < 0.05). Bioaccessibility in oral and gastric stages among four populations followed the order of adults/the elderly > children > infants, due to decreasing concentrations of α-amylase and pepsin. Pesticides in bananas generally exhibited a higher bioaccessibility (18.65–82.97%) compared to that in mangoes (11.68–87.57%). Bioaccessibility showed a negative correlation with the Log P values of the target pesticide, while no clear relationship was found between bioaccessibility and initial pesticide concentrations. Incorporating bioaccessible pesticide concentrations into risk assessments could lower dietary risk estimates by 11.85–79.57%. Natural products obtained from marine organisms continue to be a rich source of novel structural architecture and of importance in drug discovery, medicine, and health. However, the success of such endeavors depends on the exact structural elucidation and access to sufficient material, often by stereoselective total synthesis, of the isolated natural product of interest. (−)-Mucosin (1), a fatty acid derivative, previously presumed to contain a rare cis-bicyclo[4.3.0]non-3-ene moiety, has since been shown to be the trans-congener. Analytically, the fused bicyclic ring system in (−)-1 constitutes a particular challenge in order to establish its relative and absolute stereochemistry. Herein, data from biological evaluations, NMR and molecular modeling studies of (−)-1 are presented. Aim: The aim of this study is to investigate the role of human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) daily variations and levels prior to methotrexate treatment as predictors for treatment outcome. Methods: This retrospective study included patients who had a sonographically confirmed ectopic pregnancy at the International Peace Maternity and Child Health Hospital between November 2015 and June 2020. The associations of hCG levels and daily variations with the treatment success were evaluated by multivariable logistic regression and receiver operator characteristic (ROC) curve. Establish a nomogram that predicts how methotrexate (MTX) therapy will turn out. The performance of the model was assessed utilizing concordance index, receiver operating characteristic curves, and calibration plots. Results: The median serum hCG levels before treatment and hCG daily variation in the failure group were higher than those in the success group (487.8 vs. 270.7 IU/L, −1.86% vs. 7.29%, both p < 0.01). According to the ROC curve analysis, the cutoff values of serum hCG level before treatment and daily variations were 617.35 IU/L and 1.76%/day. By multivariable logistic regression analysis, serum hCG levels before treatment (odds ratio [OR]: 1.001, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 1.000 ~ 1.001) and hCG daily variations were independently associated with the treatment success (OR: 1.033, 95% CI: 1.015 ~ 1.052). The nomogram was effective at predicting the outcome of MTX treatment with a receiver operating characteristic area under the curve of 0.717 (p < 0.001). The nomogram's calibration curve was almost parallel to the ideal diagonal line. Conclusion: We successfully created a nomogram based on serum hCG levels before treatment and hCG daily changes to anticipate the result of MTX therapy, which could assist medical professionals in selecting therapeutic schedule for patients with tubal pregnancies. We have experimentally proposed and implemented a fiber bending sensor with quantum-enhanced signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), which stems from the combination of single-mode fiber (SMF) taper and intensity correlated pulse twin beams. One beam from pulse twin beams is coupled into the SMF taper to obtain a bending-induced loss, while the other beam is also attenuated correspondingly by a variable optical attenuator to ensure maximum noise cancellation. Along this line, intensity-difference noise power between pulse twin beams is always reduced below standard quantum limit (SQL), and thus a higher SNR value compared with the corresponding double-channel light source can be realized. In this work, the three different SMF tapers with the waist diameters of $85.1~\mu \text{m}$ , $74.9~\mu \text{m}$ , and $67.3~\mu \text{m}$ , respectively have been prepared by a fusion splicer. The experimental results show that in the bending range of 0–20 m−1, the SMF taper with $67.3~\mu \text{m}$ waist diameter shows the highest sensitivity of 0.105 dB/m−1, the resolution of 0.095 m−1, and its SNR value is enhanced by a maximal factor of 2.84 dB compared with the corresponding classical counterpart. The leucine-rich repeats containing G protein-coupled receptor 4 (LGR4) belonging to G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) family, had various regulatory roles at multiple cellular types and numerous targeting sites, and aberrant LGR4 signaling played crucial roles in diseases and carcinogenesis. On the basis of these facts, LGR4 may become an appealing therapeutic target for the treatment of diseases and tumors. However, a comprehensive investigation of its functions and applications was still lacking. Hence, this paper provided an overview of the molecular characteristics and signaling mechanisms of LGR4, its involvement in multiple organ development and participation in the modulation of immunology related diseases, metabolic diseases, and oxidative stress damage along with cancer progression. Given that GPCRs accounted for almost a third of current clinical drug targets, the in-depth understanding of the sophisticated connections of LGR4 and its ligands would not only enrich their regulatory networks, but also shed new light on designing novel molecular targeted drugs and small molecule blockers for revolutionizing the treatment of various diseases and tumors. Background: To introduce the surgical procedure based on special space anatomy that can safely and efficiently complete the dissociation of the ureter and uterine artery during laparoscopic radical trachelectomy with uterine artery preservation. Methods: We introduce the key technique elements of this surgical procedure using a patient we treated as an example. A 27-year-old patient was diagnosed as well-differentiated cervical adenocarcinoma, stage IB1, and had a strong desire for future fertility. Laparoscopic radical trachelectomy with uterine artery preservation was performed in this patient by using this new surgical technique based on space anatomy. Results: The ureteral space that needs to be dealt with during laparoscopic radical trachelectomy is actually a potential avascular space located medial to the ureter between the anterior leaf (from the axillary space to the fourth space of Yabuki) and posterior leaf (between the paravesical space and paravaginal space) of the vesicouterine ligament. Exposure of the axillary space can help to separate the ureter from the lower uterine segment and uterine artery (uterine side), which is necessary for radical trachelectomy with uterine artery preserved. Multiple "shafts" called potential avascular space can be drilled on the anterior leaf of vesicouterine ligament, and the connective tissue and blood vessels between the "shafts" were cutoff with ultrasonic scalpel. After the paravesical space and paravaginal space were developed, the posterior leaf was isolated and congealed completely by Ligasure. Conclusions: In brief, this new surgical procedure consists of four spaces that can safely and efficiently perform complete excision of the vesicouterine ligament, reduce blood loss, avoid ureteral injury, and shorten the operation time. Two new bifunctional isolated hybrid compounds, [ε-PMo V8 Mo VI4 O37(OH)3Zn4][iql]4·6H2O (1) and [ε-PMo V8 Mo VI4 O38(OH)2Zn4][bipy]3[(CH3COO)(bipy)2Zn]·2H2O (2) (where iql = isoquinoline and bipy = 2,2′-bipyridine), based on Zn-ε-Keggin were successfully synthesized by self-assembly under hydrothermal conditions. It is interesting to note that acetate in 2 acted as a linker connecting the ε-Keggin anion with the one Zn atom (Zn5) and enabled the ε-Keggin anion to coordinate with more bipy ligands, culminating with a larger isolated system, which is the first reported isolated cluster of Zn5PMo12. Meanwhile, compounds 1–2 show great electrochemical behaviors and excellent electrocatalytic activity for the degradation of NaNO2. In addition, compound 2 displays better third-order NLO performance than 1 due to the presence of more conjugated rings, with a TPA cross section (σ) of 1819 GM, which suggests that compound 2 has the potential to function as a bifunctional material with tremendous prospects. Objective To study the effect of functional chewing training (FuCT) on masticatory function, the severity of tongue thrust, and the severity and frequency of drooling in children with cerebral palsy. Methods A prospective study was performed for 48 children who were diagnosed with oral motor dysfunction from January 2019 to January 2020, and they were randomly divided into an FuCT group and an oral motor training group, with 24 children in each group. Both groups received FuCT or oral motor training for 12 weeks, and then they were evaluated in terms of the changes in the masticatory function, the severity of tongue thrust, and the severity and frequency of drooling. Results There were no significant differences between the two groups in the masticatory function, the severity of tongue thrust, and the severity and frequency of drooling before treatment (P>0.05). After the 12-week training, the FuCT group showed significant improvements in the masticatory function and the severity of tongue thrust and drooling (P<0.05), but with no improvement in the frequency of drooling (P>0.05), while the oral motor training group had no improvements in the masticatory function, the severity of tongue thrust, and the severity and frequency of drooling (P>0.05). After the 12-week training, the FuCT group had more significantly improvements in the severity of tongue thrust and the severity and frequency of drooling than the oral motor training group (P<0.05). Phenylethanol glycosides (CPhGs) are the core material basis of pharmacological activity in Cistanche tubulosa and have a variety of pharmacological effects. However, it is unclear whether CPhGs have an ameliorative effect on pressure overload-induced myocardial hypertrophy. In this study, male SD rats weighing (200 ± 20) g were established cardiac hypertrophy models by abdominal aortic coarctation (AAC). After operation, the rats were gavaged with corresponding medicine for 6 weeks (CPhGs 125, 250, and 500 mg/kg/d and valsartan 8.3 mg/kg/d). Echocardiography, heart weight index (HWI), cross-sectional area of cardiomyocytes (CSCA), fibrosis area, plasma endothelin 1(ET-1), and proinflammatory factors levels were detected. Our results showed that different CPhGs dosage decreased left ventricular posterior wall thickness (LVPWT), left ventricular end-diastolic diameter (LVED), HWI, CSCA, fibrosis area, ET-1, proinflammatory factors, arterial natriuretic peptide (ANP), brain natriuretic peptide (BNP), endothelin converting enzyme 1(ECE-1) mRNA levels, cyclooxygenase 2 (COX-2), high mobility group box 1 (HMGB-1) protein levels, and ECE-1 demethylation level while increasing left ventricular ejection fractions (LVEF), left ventricular fractional shortening (LVFS), phosphorylated phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase (p-PI3K), phosphorylated protein kinase B (p-PKB), and phosphorylated endothelial nitric oxide synthetase (p-eNOS). The indexes of CPhGs 250 and 500 mg/kg group were significantly different from AAC group; compared with valsartan group (AV), the indexes of CPhGs 500 mg/kg group were not significantly different. Perineural invasion (PNI) has guiding significances for nerve preservation in cervical cancer, but there is no definite marker indicating PNI. Two cervical cancer cell lines (HeLa and ME-180) showed significant abilities to migrate along neurites in vitro and in vivo. Morphological observation revealed that Schwann cells (SC) arrived at the sites of cervical cancer cells before the onset of cancer metastasis. We used high-throughput antibody array to screen the signals mediating the interaction of nerve cells and cancer cells and found the high expression of CCL2 in dorsal root ganglion (DRG). Meanwhile, serum CCL2 showed a notable raise especially in cervical adenocarcinoma. SC-derived CCL2 bound to its receptor CCR2 and promoted the proliferation, migration, invasion, and epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) of cervical cancer cells. In turn, cancer cell-derived signals triggered the expression of metalloproteinases (MMPs) including MMP2, MMP9, and MMP12 in SCs, promoting SCs to dissolve matrix. These data demonstrated that the cancer-nerve crosstalk formed a tumor microenvironment (TME) that facilitated to PNI. Many mammalian genes exhibit circadian expression patterns concordant with periodic binding of transcription factors, chromatin modifications, and chromosomal interactions. Here we investigate whether chromatin periodically associates with nuclear lamins. Entrainment of the circadian clock is accompanied, in mouse liver, by a net gain of lamin B1–chromatin interactions genome-wide, after which the majority of lamina-associated domains (LADs) are conserved during the circadian cycle. By tailoring a bioinformatics pipeline designed to identify periodic gene expression patterns, we also observe hundreds of variable lamin B1–chromatin interactions among which oscillations occur at 64 LADs, affecting one or both LAD extremities or entire LADs. Only a small subset of these oscillations however exhibit highly significant 12, 18, 24, or 30 h periodicity. These periodic LADs display oscillation asynchrony between their 5′ and 3′ borders, and are uncoupled from periodic gene expression within or in the vicinity of these LADs. Periodic gene expression is also unrelated to variations in gene-to-nearest LAD distances detected during the circadian cycle. Accordingly, periodic genes, including central clock-control genes, are located megabases away from LADs throughout circadian time, suggesting stable residence in a transcriptionally permissive chromatin environment. We conclude that periodic LADs are not a dominant feature of variable lamin B1–chromatin interactions during the circadian cycle in mouse liver.
