Search

Is the Standard Model Charge-Parity (CP) violation ever enough to generate the observed baryon asymmetry? Yes! We introduce a mechanism of baryogenesis (and dark matter production) that can generate the entire observed baryon asymmetry of the Universe using $\textit{only}$ the CP violation within Standard Model systems -- a f\^ete which no other mechanism currently proposed can achieve. Baryogenesis proceeds through a Mesogenesis scenario but with well motivated additional dark sector dynamics: a $\textit{morphon}$ field generates present day mass contributions for the particle mediating the decay responsible for baryogenesis. The effect is an enhancement of baryon production whilst evading present day collider constraints. The CP violation comes entirely from Standard Model contributions to neutral meson systems. Meanwhile, the dark dynamics generate gravitational waves that may be searched for with current and upcoming Pulsar Timing Arrays, as we demonstrate with an example. We show that positivity of the imaginary part of forward elastic amplitudes for perturbative scattering is equivalent to consistency of the entanglement generated by the S-matrix, for states with arbitrary internal quantum numbers such as flavor. We introduce the Anarchic Axion, a class of axion models which solves the Strong CP problem within current nEDM constraints with a lighter than usual QCD axion, thus populating new parameter space that ongoing and future experiments target. The Anarchic Axion is driven light by a soft breaking of the Peccei-Quinn symmetry, which also predicts a residual neutron electric dipole moment. We introduce a novel measure to quantify the tuning required for large deviations from the usual QCD axion band. We introduce and study the first class of signals that can probe the dark matter in Mesogenesis which will be observable at current and upcoming large volume neutrino experiments. The well-motivated Mesogenesis scenario for generating the observed matter-anti-matter asymmetry necessarily has dark matter charged under baryon number. Interactions of these particles with nuclei can induce nucleon decay with kinematics differing from sponanteous nucleon decay. We calculate the rate for this process and develop a simulation of the signal that includes important distortions due to nuclear effects. We estimate the sensitivity of DUNE, Super-Kamiokande, and Hyper-Kamiokande to this striking signal., Comment: Version published in PRL. Production of the matter-antimatter asymmetry in the $B$-Mesogenesis mechanism is directly related to the branching fraction of seemingly baryon number violating decays of $B$ mesons into a light Standard Model baryon and missing energy. Achieving the observed baryon asymmetry requires that the branching fraction for such decays be greater than about $10^{-7}-10^{-5}$. Experimental searches at $B$ Factories and Hadron Colliders target specific decay modes. Therefore, computing the exclusive branching fraction for each decay is a critical step towards testing Mesogenesis. In this work we use QCD Light Cone Sum Rules to compute the form factors and branching fractions of the various possible channels contributing to the baryon asymmetry. If the reheating temperature at the end of inflation is low, of order 10 MeV, then dark matter produced through ultraviolet freeze-in has a large direct detection cross section. We study such a scenario in which dark matter is hadrophilic. This leads to dark matter-nucleon scattering cross sections of interest for near-future experiments for dark matter masses in the range of 100 keV-100 MeV. The baryon asymmetry of the Universe is one of the central motivations to expect physics beyond the Standard Model. In this Snowmass white paper, we review the challenges and opportunities in testing some of the central paradigms that predict physics at scales low enough to expect new experimental data in the next decade. Focusing on theoretical ideas and some of their experimental implications, in particular, we discuss neutron-antineutron transformations, flavor observables, next generation colliders, future neutron facilities, gravitational waves, searches for permanent electric dipole moments, $0\nu \beta \beta $ decay and some future large underground experiments as methods to test post-sphaleron baryogenesis, electroweak baryogenesis, mesogenesis and low scale leptogenesis. Theoretical investigations into the evolution of the early universe are an essential part of particle physics that allow us to identify viable extensions to the Standard Model as well as motivated parameter space that can be probed by various experiments and observations. In this white paper, we review particle physics models of the early universe. First, we outline various models that explain two essential ingredients of the early universe (dark matter and baryon asymmetry) and those that seek to address current observational anomalies. We then discuss dynamics of the early universe in models of neutrino masses, axions, and several solutions to the electroweak hierarchy problem. Rare meson decays are among the most sensitive probes of both heavy and light new physics. Among them, new physics searches using kaons benefit from their small total decay widths and the availability of very large datasets. On the other hand, useful complementary information is provided by hyperon decay measurements. We summarize the relevant phenomenological models and the status of the searches in a comprehensive list of kaon and hyperon decay channels. We estimate the maximum direct detection cross section for sub-GeV dark matter (DM) scattering off nucleons. For DM masses in the range $10 \text{ keV }- 100 \text{ MeV}$, cross sections greater than $10^{-36}$- $10^{-30} \,\text{cm}^2$ seem implausible. We present a DM candidate which realizes this maximum cross section: HighlY interactive ParticlE Relics (HYPERs). After HYPERs freeze-in, a dark sector phase transition decreases the mediator's mass. Dark sector particles at the GeV scale carrying baryon number provide an attractive framework for understanding the origin of dark matter and the matter-antimatter asymmetry of the universe. We demonstrate that dark decays of hadronic states containing strange quarks -- hyperons -- offer excellent prospects for discovering such dark baryons. Building up on novel calculations of the matrix elements relevant for hyperon dark decays, and in view of various collider, flavor, and astrophysical constraints, we determine the expected rates at hyperon factories like BESIII and LHCb. We leverage the CP violation in charged $B$ meson decays to generate the observed baryon asymmetry and dark matter at $\mathcal{O}(10 \text{ MeV})$ temperatures. We realize this in two scenarios: $B_c^+$ Mesogenesis and $B^+$ Mesogenesis. In the first, CP violating $B_c^\pm$ decays to $B^\pm$ mesons are followed by decays to dark and Standard Model baryons. In this paper, we describe the potential of the LHCb experiment to detect Stealth physics. This refers to dynamics beyond the Standard Model that would elude searches that focus on energetic objects or precision measurements of known processes. Stealth signatures include long-lived particles and light resonances that are produced very rarely or together with overwhelming backgrounds. We will discuss why LHCb is equipped to discover this kind of physics at the Large Hadron Collider and provide examples of well-motivated theoretical models that can be probed with great detail at the experiment., Comment: 82 pages, 31 figures. Low-scale baryogenesis could be discovered at $B$-factories and the LHC. In the $B$-Mesogenesis paradigm [G. Elor, M. Escudero, and A. E. Nelson, PRD 99, 035031 (2019), arXiv:1810.00880], the CP violating oscillations and subsequent decays of $B$ mesons in the early Universe simultaneously explain the origin of the baryonic and the dark matter of the Universe. This mechanism for baryo- and dark matter genesis from $B$ mesons gives rise to distinctive signals at collider experiments, which we scrutinize in this paper. We study CP violating observables in the $B^0_q-\bar{B}_q^0$ system, discuss current and expected sensitivities for the exotic decays of $B$ mesons into a visible baryon and missing energy, and explore the implications of direct searches for a TeV-scale colored scalar at the LHC and in meson-mixing observables. Remarkably, we conclude that a combination of measurements at BaBar, Belle, Belle II, LHCb, ATLAS and CMS can fully test $B$-Mesogenesis., Comment: 28 pages, 13 figures, 5 appendices. v2: Major update. We propose a new out-of-equilibrium production mechanism of light dark matter: resonance scanning. If the dark matter mass evolved in the early Universe, resonant production may have occurred for a wide range of light dark matter masses today. We show that the dark matter relic abundance may be produced through the Higgs portal, in a manner consistent with current experimental constraints., Comment: 6 pages, 3 figures

We present a testable mechanism of low-scale baryogenesis and dark matter production in which neither baryon nor lepton number are violated. Charged $D$ mesons are produced out-of-equilibrium at tens of MeV temperatures. The $D$ mesons quickly undergo CP-violating decays to charged pions, which then decay into dark-sector leptons without violating lepton number. To transfer this lepton asymmetry to the baryon asymmetry, the dark leptons scatter on additional dark-sector states charged under lepton and baryon number. Amusingly, this transfer proceeds without electroweak sphalerons, which are no longer active at such low scales. We present two example models which can achieve this transfer while remaining consistent with current limits. The required amount of CP violation in charged $D$ meson decays, while currently allowed, will be probed by colliders. We study a new class of signals where fermionic dark matter is absorbed by bound electron targets. Fermionic absorption signals in direct detection and neutrino experiments are sensitive to dark matter with sub-MeV mass, probing a region of parameter space in which dark matter is otherwise challenging to detect. We calculate the rate and energy deposition spectrum in xenon-based detectors, making projections for current and future experiments. New light particles produced in supernovae can lead to additional energy loss and a consequent deficit in neutrino production in conflict with the neutrinos observed from Supernova 1987A (SN1987A). Contrary to the majority of previous SN1987A studies, we examine the impact of $Z'$ bosons, axions, and axion-like particles (ALPs) interacting with the muons produced in SN1987A. For the first time, we find constraints on generic $Z'$ bosons coupled to muons, and apply our results to particle models including gauged $L_\mu-L_\tau$ number, $U(1)_{L_\mu-L_\tau}$, and gauged $B-L$ number, $U(1)_{B-L}$. We constrain $Z'$ bosons with masses up to about 250-500 MeV, and down to about $10^{-9}$ in $Z'$-muon coupling. We also extend previous work on axion-muon couplings by examining the importance of loop-level interactions, as well as performing calculations over a wider range of axion masses. We constrain muon-coupled axions from arbitrarily low masses up to about 200-500 MeV, with bounds extending down to axion-muon couplings of approximately $10^{-8}$ GeV$^{-1}$. Gauge-gravity duality is arguably our best hope for understanding quantum gravity. Considerable progress has been made in relating scattering amplitudes in certain gravity theories to those in gauge theories---a correspondence dubbed the "double copy". Recently, double copies have also been realized in a classical setting, as maps between exact solutions of gauge theories and gravity. We present here a novel map between a certain class of real, exact solutions of Einstein's equations and self-dual solutions of the flat-space vacuum Maxwell equations. This map, which we call the "Newman-Penrose map", is well-defined even for non-vacuum, non-stationary spacetimes, providing a systematic framework for exploring gravity solutions in the context of the double copy that have not been previously studied in this setting. In this paper, we extend the collinear superspace formalism to include the full range of $\mathcal{N} = 1$ supersymmetric interactions. Building on the effective field theory rules developed in a companion paper - "Navigating Collinear Superspace" - we construct collinear superspace Lagrangians for theories with non-trivial $F$- and $D$-term auxiliary fields. For (massless) Wess-Zumino models, the key ingredient is a novel type of Grassmann-valued supermultiplet whose lowest component is a (non-propagating) fermionic degree of freedom. For gauge theories coupled to charged chiral matter, the key ingredient is a novel type of vector superfield whose lowest component is a non-propagating gauge potential. This unique vector superfield is used to construct a gauge-covariant derivative; while such an object does not appear in the standard full superspace formalism, it is crucial for modeling gauge interactions when the theory is expressed on a collinear slice. This brings us full circle, by showing that all types of $\mathcal{N} = 1$ theories in four dimensions can be constructed in collinear superspace from purely infrared considerations. Absorption of fermionic dark matter leads to a range of distinct and novel signatures at dark matter direct detection and neutrino experiments. We study the possible signals from fermionic absorption by nuclear targets, which we divide into two classes of four Fermi operators: neutral and charged current. In the neutral current signal, dark matter is absorbed by a target nucleus and a neutrino is emitted. This results in a characteristically different nuclear recoil energy spectrum from that of elastic scattering. The charged current channel leads to induced $\beta$ decays in isotopes which are stable in vacuum as well as shifts of the kinematic endpoint of $ \beta$ spectra in unstable isotopes. To confirm the possibility of observing these signals in light of other constraints, we introduce UV completions of example higher dimensional operators that lead to fermionic absorption signals and study their phenomenology. Most prominently, dark matter which exhibits fermionic absorption signals is necessarily unstable leading to stringent bounds from indirect detection searches. Low-scale baryogenesis and dark matter generation can occur via the production of neutral $B$ mesons at MeV temperatures in the early Universe, which undergo CP-violating oscillations and subsequently decay into a dark sector. In this work, we discuss the consequences of realizing this mechanism in a supersymmetric model with an unbroken $U(1)_R$ symmetry which is identified with baryon number. $B$ mesons decay into a dark sector through a baryon number conserving operator mediated by TeV scale squarks and a GeV scale Dirac bino. The dark sector particles can be identified with sterile neutrinos and their superpartners in a type-I seesaw framework for neutrino masses. The sterile sneutrinos are sufficiently long lived and constitute the dark matter. The produced matter-antimatter asymmetry is directly related to observables measurable at $B$ factories and hadron colliders, the most relevant of which are the semileptonic-leptonic asymmetries in neutral $B$ meson systems and the inclusive branching fraction of $B$ mesons into hadrons and missing energy. We discuss model independent constraints on these experimental observables before quoting predictions made in the supersymmetric context. We present a new class of direct detection signals; absorption of fermionic dark matter. We enumerate the operators through dimension six which lead to fermionic absorption, study their direct detection prospects, and summarize additional constraints on their suppression scale. Such dark matter is inherently unstable as there is no symmetry which prevents dark matter decays. Nevertheless, we show that fermionic dark matter absorption can be observed in direct detection and neutrino experiments while ensuring consistency with the observed dark matter abundance and required lifetime. We introduce a new set of effective field theory rules for constructing Lagrangians with $\mathcal{N} = 1$ supersymmetry in collinear superspace. In the standard superspace treatment, superfields are functions of the coordinates $(x^\mu,\theta^\alpha, \theta^{\dagger \dot{\alpha}})$, and supersymmetry preservation is manifest at the Lagrangian level in part due to the inclusion of auxiliary $F$- and $D$-term components. By contrast, collinear superspace depends on a smaller set of coordinates $(x^\mu,\eta,\eta^\dagger)$, where $\eta$ is a complex Grassmann number without a spinor index. This provides a formulation of supersymmetric theories that depends exclusively on propagating degrees of freedom, at the expense of obscuring Lorentz invariance and introducing inverse momentum scales. After establishing the general framework, we construct collinear superspace Lagrangians for free chiral matter and non-Abelian gauge fields. For the latter construction, an important ingredient is a superfield representation that is simultaneously chiral, anti-chiral, and real; this novel object encodes residual gauge transformations on the light cone. Additionally, we discuss a fundamental obstruction to constructing interacting theories with chiral matter; overcoming these issues is the subject of our companion paper, where we introduce a larger set of superfields to realize the full range of interactions compatible with $\mathcal{N} = 1$. We present a new mechanism of Baryogenesis and dark matter production in which both the dark matter relic abundance and the baryon asymmetry arise from neutral $B$ meson oscillations and subsequent decays. This set-up is testable at hadron colliders and $B$-factories. In the early Universe, decays of a long lived particle produce $B$ mesons and anti-mesons out of thermal equilibrium. These mesons/anti-mesons then undergo CP violating oscillations before quickly decaying into visible and dark sector particles. Dark matter will be charged under Baryon number so that the visible sector baryon asymmetry is produced without violating the total baryon number of the Universe. The produced baryon asymmetry will be directly related to the leptonic charge asymmetry in neutral $B$ decays; an experimental observable. Dark matter is stabilized by an unbroken discrete symmetry, and proton decay is simply evaded by kinematics. We will illustrate this mechanism with a model that is unconstrained by di-nucleon decay, does not require a high reheat temperature, and would have unique experimental signals -- a positive leptonic asymmetry in $B$ meson decays, a new decay of $B$ mesons into a baryon and missing energy, and a new decay of $b$-flavored baryons into mesons and missing energy. We explore the possibility that bound states involving dark matter particles could be detected by resonance searches at the LHC, and the generic implications of such scenarios for indirect and direct detection. We demonstrate that resonance searches are complementary to mono-jet searches and can probe dark matter masses above 1 TeV with current LHC data. We argue that this parameter regime, where the bound-state resonance channel is the most sensitive probe of the dark sector, arises most naturally in the context of non-trivial dark sectors with large couplings, nearly-degenerate dark-matter-like states, and multiple force carriers. The presence of bound states detectable by the LHC implies a minimal Sommerfeld enhancement that is appreciable, and potentially also radiative bound state formation in the Galactic halo, leading to large signals in indirect searches. We calculate these complementary constraints, which favor either models where the bound-state-forming dark matter constitutes a small fraction of the total density, or models where the late-time annihilation is suppressed at low velocities or late times. Soft-Collinear Effective Theory (SCET) is a framework for modeling the infrared structure of theories whose long distance behavior is dominated by soft and collinear divergences. This paper demonstrates that SCET can be made compatible with supersymmetry (SUSY). Explicitly, the effective Lagrangian for $\mathcal{N} = 1$ SUSY Yang-Mills is constructed and shown to be a complete description for the infrared of this model. For contrast, we also construct the effective Lagrangian for chiral SUSY theories with Yukawa couplings, specifically the single flavor Wess-Zumino model. Only a subset of the infrared divergences are reproduced by the Lagrangian -- to account for the complete low energy description requires the inclusion of local operators. SCET is formulated by expanding fields along a light-like direction and then subsequently integrating out degrees-of-freedom that are away from the light-cone. Defining the theory with respect to a specific frame obfuscates Lorentz invariance -- given that SUSY is a space-time symmetry, this presents a possible obstruction. The cleanest language with which to expose the congruence between SUSY and SCET requires exploring two novel formalisms: collinear fermions as two-component Weyl spinors, and SCET in light-cone gauge. By expressing SUSY Yang-Mills in "collinear superspace", a slice of superspace derived by integrating out half the fermionic coordinates, the light-cone gauge SUSY SCET theory can be written in terms of superfields. As a byproduct, bootstrapping up to the full theory yields the first algorithmic approach for determining the SUSY Yang-Mills on-shell superspace action. This letter provides a superfield based approach to constructing a collinear slice of $\mathcal{N}$ = 1 superspace. The strategy is analogous to integrating out anti-collinear fermionic degrees-of-freedom as was developed in the context of soft-collinear effective theory. The resulting Lagrangian can be understood as an integral over collinear superspace, where half the supercoordinates have been integrated out. The application to $\mathcal{N}$ = 1 super Yang-Mills is presented. If dark matter inhabits an expanded "hidden sector", annihilations may proceed through sequential decays or multi-body final states. We map out the potential signals and current constraints on such a framework in indirect searches, using a model-independent setup based on multi-step hierarchical cascade decays. While remaining agnostic to the details of the hidden sector model, our framework captures the generic broadening of the spectrum of secondary particles (photons, neutrinos, e+e- and antiprotons) relative to the case of direct annihilation to Standard Model particles. We explore how indirect constraints on dark matter annihilation limit the parameter space for such cascade/multi-particle decays. We investigate limits from the cosmic microwave background by Planck, the Fermi measurement of photons from the dwarf galaxies, and positron data from AMS-02. The presence of a hidden sector can change the constraints on the dark matter annihilation cross section by up to an order of magnitude in either direction (although the effect can be much smaller). We find that generally the bound from the Fermi dwarfs is most constraining for annihilations to photon-rich final states, while AMS-02 is most constraining for electron and muon final states; however in certain instances the CMB bounds overtake both, due to their approximate independence of the details of the hidden sector cascade. If dark matter is embedded in a non-trivial dark sector, it may annihilate and decay to lighter dark-sector states which subsequently decay to the Standard Model. Such scenarios - with annihilation followed by cascading dark-sector decays - can explain the apparent excess GeV gamma-rays identified in the central Milky Way, while evading bounds from dark matter direct detection experiments. Each 'step' in the cascade will modify the observable signatures of dark matter annihilation and decay, shifting the resulting photons and other final state particles to lower energies and broadening their spectra. We explore, in a model-independent way, the effect of multi-step dark-sector cascades on the preferred regions of parameter space to explain the GeV excess. We find that the broadening effects of multi-step cascades can admit final states dominated by particles that would usually produce too sharply peaked photon spectra; in general, if the cascades are hierarchical (each particle decays to substantially lighter particles), the preferred mass range for the dark matter is in all cases 20-150 GeV. Decay chains that have nearly-degenerate steps, where the products are close to half the mass of the progenitor, can admit much higher DM masses. We map out the region of mass/cross-section parameter space where cascades (degenerate, hierarchical or a combination) can fit the signal, for a range of final states. Naturalness in supersymmetry (SUSY) is under siege by increasingly stringent LHC constraints, but natural electroweak symmetry breaking still remains the most powerful motivation for superpartner masses within experimental reach. If naturalness is the wrong criterion then what determines the mass scale of the superpartners? We motivate supersymmetry by (1) gauge coupling unification, (2) dark matter, and (3) precision b-tau Yukawa unification. We show that for an LSP that is a bino-Higgsino admixture, these three requirements lead to an upper-bound on the stop and sbottom masses in the several TeV regime because the threshold correction to the bottom mass at the superpartner scale is required to have a particular size. For tan beta about 50, which is needed for t-b-tau unification, the stops must be lighter than 2.8 TeV when A_t has the opposite sign of the gluino mass, as is favored by renormalization group scaling. For lower values of tan beta, the top and bottom squarks must be even lighter. Yukawa unification plus dark matter implies that superpartners are likely in reach of the LHC, after the upgrade to 14 (or 13) TeV, independent of any considerations of naturalness. We present a model-independent, bottom-up analysis of the SUSY parameter space that is simultaneously consistent with Yukawa unification and the hint for m_h = 125 GeV. We study the flavor and dark matter phenomenology that accompanies this Yukawa unification. We propose an alternative mechanism of baryogenesis in which a scalar baryon undergoes a percolating first-order phase transition in the early Universe. The potential barrier that divides the phases contains explicit B and CP violation and the corresponding instanton that mediates decay is therefore asymmetric. The nucleation and growth of these asymmetric bubbles dynamically generates baryons, which thermalize after percolation; bubble collision dynamics can also add to the asymmetry yield. We present an explicit toy model that undergoes bubble baryogenesis, and numerically study the evolution of the baryon asymmetry through bubble nucleation and growth, bubble collisions, and washout. We discuss more realistic constructions, in which the scalar baryon and its potential arise amongst the color-breaking minima of the MSSM, or in the supersymmetric neutrino seesaw mechanism. We revisit the cosmology of the supersymmetric QCD axion, highlighting the existence of a serious cosmological axino problem that is fully analogous to the gravitino problem of overclosure via thermal production. A general analysis implies that the QCD axino has a mass greater than or equal to that of the gravitino in the absence of unnatural fine-tuning or sequestering. As a consequence, bounds from thermal gravitino and QCD axino production are complementary in parameter space, and together provide a quite stringent limit on the reheating temperature after inflation given by T_R < 10^3 - 10^6 GeV for an axion decay constant of f_a = 10^9 - 10^12 GeV. We explore an alternative mechanism for the production of gravitino dark matter whereby relic gravitinos originate from the decays of superpartners which are still in thermal equilibrium, i.e. via freeze-in. Contributions to the gravitino abundance from freeze-in can easily dominate over those from thermal scattering over a broad range of parameter space, e.g. when the scalar superpartners are heavy. Because the relic abundance from freeze-in is independent of the reheating temperature after inflation, collider measurements may be used to unambiguously reconstruct the freeze-in origin of gravitinos. In particular, if gravitino freeze-in indeed accounts for the present day dark matter abundance, then the lifetime of the next-to-lightest superpartner is uniquely fixed by the superpartner spectrum., Comment: 5 pages, 3 figures

We consider a broad class of supersymmetric theories in which dark matter (DM) is the lightest superpartner (LSP) of a hidden sector that couples very weakly to visible sector fields. Portal interactions connecting visible and hidden sectors mediate the decay of the lightest observable superpartner (LOSP) into the LSP, allowing the LHC to function as a spectacular probe of the origin of hidden sector DM. As shown in a companion paper, this general two-sector framework allows only for a handful of DM production mechanisms, each of which maps to a distinctive window in lifetimes and cross-sections for the LOSP. In the present work we perform a systematic collider study of LOSP candidates and portal interactions, and for each case evaluate the prospects for successfully reconstructing the origin of DM at the LHC. If, for instance, DM arises from Freeze-Out and Decay, this may be verified if the LOSP is a bino or right-handed slepton decaying to the LSP through a variety of portal interactions, and with an annihilation cross-section within a narrow range. On the other hand, the Freeze-In mechanism may be verified for a complimentary set of LOSP candidates, and within a narrow range of LOSP lifetimes. In all cases, the LOSP is relatively long-lived on collider time scales, leading to events with displaced vertices. We present a systematic cosmological study of a universe in which the visible sector is coupled, albeit very weakly, to a hidden sector comprised of its own set of particles and interactions. Assuming that dark matter (DM) resides in the hidden sector and is charged under a stabilizing symmetry shared by both sectors, we determine all possible origins of weak-scale DM allowed within this broad framework. We show that DM can arise only through a handful of mechanisms, lending particular focus to Freeze-Out and Decay and Freeze-In, as well as their variations involving late time re-annihilations of DM and DM particle anti-particle asymmetries. Much like standard Freeze-Out, where the abundance of DM depends only on the annihilation cross-section of the DM particle, these mechanisms depend only on a very small subset of physical parameters, many of which may be measured directly at the LHC. In particular, we show that each DM production mechanism is associated with a distinctive window in lifetimes and cross-sections for particles which may be produced in the near future. We explore the possibility that both the weak scale and the thermal relic dark matter abundance are environmentally selected in a multiverse. An underlying supersymmetric theory containing the states of the MSSM and singlets, with supersymmetry and R symmetry broken at unified scales, has just two realistic low energy effective theories. One theory, (SM + \tilde{w}), is the Standard Model augmented only by the wino, having a mass near 3 TeV, and has a Higgs boson mass in the range of (127 - 142) GeV. The other theory, (SM + \tilde{h}/\tilde{s}), has Higgsinos and a singlino added to the Standard Model. The Higgs boson mass depends on the single new Yukawa coupling of the theory, y, and is near 141 GeV for small y but grows to be as large as 210 GeV as this new coupling approaches strong coupling at high energies. Much of the parameter space of this theory will be probed by direct detection searches for dark matter that push two orders of magnitude below the present bounds; furthermore, the dark matter mass and cross section on nucleons are correlated with the Higgs boson mass. The indirect detection signal of monochromatic photons from the galactic center is computed, and the range of parameters that may be accessible to LHC searches for trilepton events is explored. Taking a broader view, allowing the possibility of R symmetry protection to the TeV scale or axion dark matter, we find four more theories: (SM + axion), two versions of Split Supersymmetry, and the E-MSSM, where a little supersymmetric hierarchy is predicted. The special Higgs mass value of (141 \pm 2) GeV appears in symmetry limits of three of the six theories, (SM + axion), (SM + \tilde{w}) and (SM + \tilde{h}/\tilde{s}), motivating a comparison of other signals of these three theories., Comment: 27 pages, 8 figures
