In the material extrusion of the thermoplastic filaments, known as Fused Deposition Modelling, usually, pure thermoplastic polymers are used. Recently, the focus of the research is given to the development of new biocomposite thermoplastic materials. In our research, 3D printable biocomposite filaments, made with the addition of 50 wt.% of cardboard dust to the HDPE and PLA polymer matrix were studied. The influence of the added cardboard dust on structural, morphological and mechanical properties of the 3D printable biocomposite filaments was investigated. With the addition of the corrugated cardboard dust into the HDPE and PLA polymer matrix the changes in density, uniformity, chemical structure and transition temperatures of the samples were detected. The addition of the cardboard dust into the HDPE polymer matrix lead to low tenacity, toughness, deformability resulting in brittleness of the 3D printable biocomposite filament, whereas the addition of the cardboard dust into the PLA polymer matrix lowered tensile properties, but didn't affected bending toughness and has even improved compression strength of the 3D printable filament. The aim of our research was to determine how colour impacts the effectiveness of a logotype for a particular activity and which colour used is strong, stable, associative and "playful", and thus the most appropriate for presenting a selected activity. For the purpose of this research, a logotype for a circus artist was designed using four colour variations, while conjoint analysis was used to identify the colour preference of a specific logotype. Besides colour, three additional attributes were chosen: the type, duration and price of a performance. Three or four levels were specified for every attribute. The results of the survey showed that colour is the not the most important of the four attributes, but that it does have a certain effect on a customer's decision. In the analysis, most respondents choose the red logotype, an outdoor performance, and the longest duration and the lowest price of a performance. The most important of the four attributes for respondents was the price of a performance, followed by the duration of a performance, the content/type of a performance and finally the colour of the associated logotype. The preference of respondents was improved by testing combinations of the four attributes and levels, where the colour blue was replaced with red. Braille presents a complex system of writing with additional symbols and letters designating numbers, capital letters and other special symbols in mathematics, physics, music etc. Due to mentioned braille texts are usually very long, bulky, space consuming and complex. In this research a study of modified braille dots is presented. Samples were prepared in several different steps, enabling the determination of the optimal braille dot height on top which additional elements were printed. Properties of ordinary braille dot samples and braille dot samples printed with additional element were compared and analyzed. An extensive sensory analysis with blind and visually impaired people was performed for establishing weather modified braille dots can be tactile recognized and used in practice. The aim of the research was to produce tactile floor plans for blind and visually impaired people for the use in the museum. For the production of tactile floor plans 3D printing technique was selected among three different techniques. 3D prints were made of white and colored ABS polymer materials. The aim of the research was to establish whether addition on fragranced microcapsules influences on color values and perceptive properties of prints. For this purpose, three types of printing inks were used on two sets of the paper substrate. Color properties were measured by standard methods while perceptive properties were determined by subjective method. Research has shown that microcapsules cause small color differences while perceptive analyses gave very interesting results. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The objective of the research was to compare the porosity/compactness of the knitted structures made from viscose and polyacrylonitrile yarns with incorporated elastane and without elastane, respectively, and to evaluate the elastane addition impact to their moisture management and air permeability properties. The addition of elastane considerably reduces the wettability of the wet relaxed viscose knits, while it moderately increases the wettability of the wet relaxed polyacrylonitrile knits. The polyacrylonitrile knits exhibit distinctively better wickability than comparable viscose knits. When no elastane is added, air permeability is better for viscose knits while with the elastane addition, air permeability is better for polyacrylonitrile knits. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The article investigates the situation in the Slovenian market related to labeling of textile products, the mistakes which occur with labeling, how consumers are familiar with the new way of labeling, and how well they know the law on consumers protection and their rights. It is said that with the accession of the country to the European Union in 2004, the labeling of its textile products has changed. Instead of mandatory information about material composition, care, and size, only material composition are required to be specified today.

The article presents a research that analyzes the importance of maintenance function in a small size ready-made clothes company. In the study, a questionnaire was used as a basis for the interviews with director and outside and in-house trouble shooters. Also used were the Troubles and Repairs Survey forms handed out to a variety of departments of the firm. These forms provides researchers the information about the type and cause of trouble, repair and time elapses.
