Abstract Seawater direct electrolysis (SDE) using renewable energy provides a sustainable pathway to harness abundant oceanic hydrogen resources. However, the side-reaction of the chlorine electro-oxidation reaction (ClOR) severely decreased direct electrolysis efficiency of seawater and gradually corrodes the anode. In this study, a redox-mediated strategy is introduced to suppress the ClOR, and a decoupled seawater direct electrolysis (DSDE) system incorporating a separate O2 evolution reactor is established. Ferricyanide/ferrocyanide ([Fe(CN)6]3−/4−) serves as an electron-mediator between the cell and the reactor, thereby enabling a more dynamically favorable half-reaction to supplant the traditional oxygen evolution reaction (OER). This alteration involves a straightforward, single-electron-transfer anodic reaction without gas precipitation and effectively eliminates the generation of chlorine-containing byproducts. By operating at low voltages (~1.37 V at 10 mA cm−2 and ~1.57 V at 100 mA cm−2) and maintaining stability even in a Cl−-saturated seawater electrolyte, this system has the potential of undergoing decoupled seawater electrolysis with zero chlorine emissions. Further improvements in the high-performance redox-mediators and catalysts can provide enhanced cost-effectiveness and sustainability of the DSDE system.

Purposes The sparse feature map established by using VSLAM cannot be directly used for navigation, and the existing methods of converting sparse feature maps into grid maps for navigation suffer from low accuracy of map construction, resulting in the failure to achieve accurate navigation. An improved ORB-SLAM3 navigation method is proposed based on multi-convex combined maximum correntropy criterion (MCMCC), which can realize the construction, positioning, and navigation of indoor real-time mapping on the embedded device with only a RGB-D camera. Methods The proposed method uses the back-end optimization algorithm based on MCMCC to combat the influence of non-Gaussian noises and to further improve the mapping accuracy of ORB-SLAM. Subsequently, in the process of converting the sparse feature map into a grid map, the grid map is updated with the loop detection information to improve the grid map accuracy for accurate navigation. Findings Furthermore, simulation and real scene experiments have been carried out to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Abstract Direct hydrogen production from inexhaustible seawater using abundant offshore wind power offers a promising pathway for achieving a sustainable energy industry and fuel economy. Various direct seawater electrolysis methods have been demonstrated to be effective at the laboratory scale. However, larger-scale in situ demonstrations that are completely free of corrosion and side reactions in fluctuating oceans are lacking. Here, fluctuating conditions of the ocean were considered for the first time, and seawater electrolysis in wave motion environment was achieved. We present the successful scaling of a floating seawater electrolysis system that employed wind power in Xinghua Bay and the integration of a 1.2 Nm3 h−1-scale pilot system. Stable electrolysis operation was achieved for over 240 h with an electrolytic energy consumption of 5 kWh Nm−3 H2 and a high purity (>99.9%) of hydrogen under fluctuating ocean conditions (0~0.9 m wave height, 0~15 m s−1 wind speed), which is comparable to that during onshore water electrolysis. The concentration of impurity ions in the electrolyte was low and stable over a long period of time under complex and changing scenarios. We identified the technological challenges and performances of the key system components and examined the future outlook for this emerging technology.

This study develops a visualization monitoring system for substation equipment operational status, utilizing mobile monitoring technologies. The system architecture integrates a core functional module aligned with comprehensive system requirements, enhanced by a BP neural network to optimize the server’s data mining capabilities. The research focuses on the analysis of typical faults in crucial substation electrical equipment, applying a Fourier algorithm for preprocessing the fault data. Employing the diagnostic principles of the BP neural network, the study designs a thermal fault diagnosis process for the substation apparatus. Experimental scenarios were established to evaluate the BP neural network’s performance by comparing three linear regression sample values. The practical application of the BP neural network model was assessed through integration with substation field data. Cross-validation of the field data indicates that the fault location algorithm accurately identifies 11 types of faults from 85 alarm signals in the secondary condition monitoring of substations, achieving a reliability of 98% or higher, which underscores its high applicability and operational feasibility.

Abstrct: Polycaprolactone/hydroxyapatite (PCL/HA) composite coating was fabricated by a combination of hydrothermal and dipping methods to delay the degradation of Mg alloy AZ31 as bioresorbable materials. The PCL/HA coating was composed of nano rod-shape HA crystals and PCL filled in the space of HA crystals. Compared with the single HA coating, the binding strength between the PCL/HA composite coating and Mg alloy was obviously improved and the PCL/HA coating still adhered to the surface of AZ31 substrate even after 38 days of immersion. The electrochemical corrosion rate of HA coated sample was reduced by ten times after being filled by PCL. The electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and immersion test results showed that the PCL/HA composite coating could provide a more effective barrier for Mg substrate than the HA coating alone. The cytocompatibility and the antibacterial property of HA coating and PCL/HA coating were evaluated by culturing with bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs) and methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) for 24 h under direct culture conditions, respectively. The PCL/HA composite coating showed better BMSC cell compatibility, more suitable for BMSC adhesion than HA coating alone and showed a potential application prospect as a biological materials. However, from the perspective of clinical applications, the antibacterial property of PCL/HA composite coating needs to be further improved.

Abstract Background γδT cells play an important role in the mucosa inflammation and immunity-associated disorders. Our previous study reported that γδ T cells producing IL-17 were involved in the pathogenesis of post-infectious irritable bowel syndrome (PI-IBS). However, their subset characteristic profile in this kind of disease remains unclear. Thus the current study’s aim is to investigate the functionally predominant subset and its role in PI-IBS. Methods The total T cells were collected from the peripheral blood of patients with PI-IBS. The peripheral proportion of Vδ1 and Vδ2 subset was detected by FACS after stained with anti δ1-PE and anti δ2-APC. The local colonic proportion of this two subsets were measured under laser confocal fluorescence microscope. Vδ1 γδ T cells were enriched from the total peripheral T cells by minoantibody-immuno-microbeads (MACS) method and cultured, functionally evaluated by CCK-8 assay (proliferation), CD69/CD62L molecules expression assay (activation) and ELISA (IL-17 production) respectively. It is difficult to accurately measure parameters by using the traditional soft sensor algorithm when the working condition of industrial process is changed. Therefore, a transfer learning strategy is introduced based on geodesic flow kernel to solve this problem. At the same time, the method is optimized to solve the problems of dynamic characteristic extraction and incomplete Gaussian distribution in industrial process. The augmented matrix is first constructed to deal with the dynamic characteristics of the process. Independent component analysis and principal component analysis are performed on the processed data to extract the non-Gaussian and Gaussian information of the source domain and the target domain. Then, the non-Gaussian and Gaussian information of the source domain is adapted to the target domain respectively on the Grassmann manifold. Finally, the maximum mean discrepancy is used to measure the distribution between the source domain and the target domain after domain adaptation, and the calculated results are applied to construct the weight of the model based on the source domain after domain adaptation. The results show that the method not only reduces the difference of distribution between the source domain and the target domain, but also solves the problems of dynamic characteristic extraction and incomplete Gaussian distribution in industrial process. The validity and the practicability of the model are proved by experiments on Tennessee Eastman data.

The aviation manufacturing industry is a key area for innovation-driven development. In order to adapt to the new requirements for aviation manufacturing talents put forward by the transformation and upgrading of the aviation industry, Nanchang Hangkong University and AVIC Hongdu Group continue to explore and practice the talent training channels urgently needed for tooling design positions. The university and enterprise jointly built an aviation manufacturing talent training model based on “practical ability-oriented and industry-education integration.” The effective method formed from four aspects: the determination of talent training methods, the establishment of professional curriculum system, the innovation of teaching methods and the improvement of university-enterprise collaborative management mechanism. Thus, the win-win cooperation between the university and enterprise has been realized, and valuable experience has been accumulated for exploring a new aviation manufacturing talent training model.

Background: Pancreatic cancer is a malignancy with poor prognosis. Importin 7 (IPO7) is a soluble nuclear transport factor, which has been linked to the pathogenesis of several human diseases. However, its role and underlying mechanism in pancreatic cancer are still obscure.Methods: Immunohistochemical staining and quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) were performed to determine IPO7 expression in pancreatic cancer tissues and adjacent tissues. Western blot was used to measure IPO7 expression at the protein level in cell lines. Cell Counting Kit-8 (CCK-8), 5-bromo-2′-deoxyuridine (BrdU), flow cytometry, and Transwell assays were employed to explore the biological functions of IPO7. Subcutaneous xenograft transplanted tumor model and caudal vein injection model in mice were also established to validate the oncogenic role of IPO7. Western blot and qPCR were utilized to detect the regulatory function of IPO7 on p53 and metastasis-associated lung adenocarcinoma transcript 1 (MALAT1), respectively. Interaction between MALAT1 and miR-129-5p and interaction between miR-129-5p and IPO7 were verified by bioinformatics prediction, qPCR, dual-luciferase reporter gene experiment, RNA immunoprecipitation (RIP), and pull-down assay.Results: Upregulation of IPO7 in pancreatic cancer tissues was associated with adverse prognosis of the patients with pancreatic cancer. Knocking down IPO7 remarkably suppressed cancer cell proliferation and metastasis, while it promoted apoptosis. Overexpression of IPO7 facilitated the malignant phenotypes of pancreatic cancer cells. Mechanistically, IPO7 could repress the expression of p53 and induce the expression of MALAT1 but reduce miR-129-5p expression. Furthermore, miR-129-5p was identified as a posttranscriptional regulator for IPO7, and its inhibition led to IPO7 overexpression in pancreatic cancer cells.Conclusion: IPO7 is a novel oncogene for pancreatic cancer, and IPO7/p53/MALAT1/miR-129-5p positive feedback loop facilitates the progression of this deadly disease.

Abstracts Background This study investigated the role of HSP70 in modulating intestinal γδ T cells’ Th17 response in Trichinella spiralis-induced PI-IBS mice model. Methods The intestinal HSP70’s expression and mRNA level were measured by Western blot and RT-PCR. The intestinal γδ T cell’s morphological changes were analyzed using immunofluorescence staining and confocal laser scanning microscope. The pro-inflammatory cytokines’ level was detected by ELISA. The isolated and purified γδ T cells were pre-incubated with HSP70 and their functions including proliferation, apoptosis, activation and production of IL-17 were also detected. Results Heat treatment augmented intestinal HSP70 expression and alleviated the clinical presentations in PI-IBS mice. Meanwhile, intestinal γδ T cells and local IL-17 level were increased by pre-induction of HSP70. HSP70 promoted the proliferation of PI-IBS mice’s intestinal γδ T cells, inhibited the apoptosis and stimulated these cells to secret IL-17 rather than IFN-γ. Conclusion Our results suggest that HSP70 plays a protective role via up-regulating intestinal γδ T cell’s Th17 response in PI-IBS mice.

BackgroundPropofol has been reported to protect vascular endothelial cells against oxidative stress. In this study we investigated its effect on hydrogen peroxide (H2O2)-induced apoptosis of human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs) and examined the possible signaling pathways.MethodsHUVECs were pretreated with propofol (1, 5, 25, and 50 µM) for 30 min and then co-incubated with 0.4 mM H2O2 for 4 h. Cell viability was assessed using a Cell Counting Kit-8. Cell apoptosis was analyzed using flow cytometry with annexin V/propidium iodide staining, and evaluated by quantifying caspase-3, Bax, and Bcl-2 expression levels. The expression levels of p38 mitogen activated protein kinase (MAPK), phosphorylated (p)-p38 MAPK, cJun-N-terminal kinases (JNK), phosphorylated (p)-JNK, Akt and phosphorylated Akt [(p)-Akt] (Ser473) were measured by western blotting.ResultsH2O2 treatment induced the activation of caspase-3, downregulated Bcl-2 expression, and up-regulated Bax expression, all of which were dose-dependently attenuated by propofol pretreatment. Furthermore, propofol significantly ameliorated H2O2-induced phosphorylation of p38 MAPK, JNK, and Akt in HUVECs.ConclusionsPropofol can protect HUVECs against H2O2-induced apoptosis via a mechanism that may involve p38 MAPK, JNK, and Akt signaling pathways.

Through the development of computer image processing technology and UAV technology, after installing high-definition cameras on UAVs and taking high-resolution images, the technology of directly generating DOM images in the surveyed areas using software has been well-developed. However, under the emergency conditions such as dealing with disasters, the long-term processing time required for aerial surveys of UAVs has become a major efficiency constraint to surveying and mapping. This paper focuses on the rapid mapping and mosaicking of survey images from unmanned aerial vehicles under emergency conditions, and elaborates current research status, difficulties and resolvents of the rapid mapping of existing UAVs.

Due to the accelerating urbanization process, land resources are tight, the construction environment becomes more and more complex and severe. In particular, the future airport will be built on the mountain or be constructed reclamation airport, the terrain and geological conditions of the airport construction are complex and the climate is harsh. These all raise higher requirements for the accuracy and safety of airport planning, design and construction. This paper combines the mapping technology with the key links of airport construction, and elaborates on the key technologies, which provides a good reference for related projects and is of great significance for improving the efficiency and quality of airport construction.

In the dynamic time-history analysis of structural elastoplasticity, it is important to develop a universal mathematical model that can describe the force-displacement characteristics for restoring force. By defining three control parameters (stiffness degradation, slip closure γ, energy degradation β), the Park restoring force mathematical model can simulate various components. In this study, the Park restoring force has been improved by adding two control parameters (energy-based strength degradation βe and ductility-based strength degradation βd). Based on the testing data, the constitutive model is input and 55 numerical models are developed to analyze the effects of various parameters on structural behavior. Conclusion. (1) β has determinative effect on structural behavior; the effect of βe is basically consistent with that of β; α has significant effect on shear forces and bending moments; γ has significant effect on displacements and accelerations; βd has significant effect on shearing forces, acceleration, and total energy consumptions. (2) Based on the classification of four types of damage level, the recommended values for α, γ, β, βe, and βd are presented. (3) Based on the testing data of high-strength columns, the recommended values for the five control parameters of the improved Park restoring force model are presented.

Self-efficacy and coping strategies have been demonstrated to predict well-being and ill-being, respectively. However, the relationships among self-efficacy, coping, and well-being/ill-being have been less clear. This study aimed to examine whether college freshman's self-efficacy could predict their well-being/ill-being through positive coping and negative coping. Self-report questionnaires were administered to 446 college freshmen in China. Results indicated that positive coping mediated the associations of self-efficacy with well-being and ill-being, even after age and the five personality traits were controlled for. However, the mediation effect of negative coping was non-significant. Multi-group analyses indicated that the mediation model did not differ between males and females. These findings suggest that cultivating college freshman's individual resources of coping such as self-efficacy could enhance their well-being. A new computational framework for spinor-based relativistic exact two-component (X2C) calculations is developed using contracted basis sets with a spin–orbit contraction scheme. Generally contracted, j-adapted basis sets of p-block elements using primitive functions in the correlation-consistent basis sets are constructed for the X2C Hamiltonian with atomic mean-field spin–orbit integrals (the X2CAMF scheme). The contraction coefficients are taken from atomic X2CAMF Hartree–Fock spinors, thereby following the simple concept of a linear combination of atomic orbitals. Benchmark calculations of spin–orbit splittings, equilibrium bond lengths, and harmonic vibrational frequencies demonstrate the accuracy and efficacy of the j-adapted spin–orbit contraction scheme.
