The Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS) measurements have been performed on quercetin with dioctyl sodium sulfosuccinate (Aerosol OT, AOT), Triton X-100 in 1,4-dioxane, as well as on the solutions containing water in the core of suitable reversed micelles; the water amount was calculated using the relation R = [H2O]/[surfactant], defining the ratio of water to surfactant concentration. The amount of quercetin in the studied systems as well as the effects of the water presence on the size of the micelles and diffusion effects were discussed. A significant effect of the research was the determination of the maximum amount of water that can be introduced into the AOT micelles in the studied systems. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This study presents the synthesis, characterization and Hirshfeld surface analysis of 1-[6-bromo-2-(3-bromophenyl)-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroquinolin-4-yl]pyrrolidin-2-one, C19H18Br2N2O. In the title compound, the pyrrolidine ring adopts a distorted envelope configuration. In the crystal, molecules are linked by intermolecular N—H⋯O, C—H⋯O and C—H⋯Br hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional network. In addition, pairs of molecules along the c axis are connected by C—H⋯π interactions. According to a Hirshfeld surface study, H⋯H (36.9%), Br⋯H/H⋯Br (28.2%) and C⋯H/H⋯C (24.3%) interactions are the most significant contributors to the crystal packing. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The dinuclear mol­ecule of the title compound, [Mo2(C9H13)2(CO)6] or [Mo(tBuCp)(CO)3]2 where tBu and Cp are tert-butyl and cyclo­penta­dienyl, is centrosymmetric and is characterized by an Mo—Mo bond length of 3.2323 (3) Å. Imposed by inversion symmetry, the tBuCp and the carbonyl ligands are in a transoid arrangement to each other. The title compound, bis­[di­thio­bis­(formamidinium)] hexa­bromido­ruthenium dibromide trihydrate, [(NH2)2CSSC(NH2)2]2[RuBr6]Br2·3H2O, crystallizes in the ortho­rhom­bic system, space group Cmcm, Z = 4. The [RuBr6]2− anionic complex has an octahedral structure. The Ru—Br distances fall in the range 2.4779 (4)–2.4890 (4) Å. The S—S and C—S distances are 2.0282 (12) and 1.783 (2) Å, respectively. The H2O mol­ecules, Br− ions, and NH2 groups of the cation are linked by hydrogen bonds. The conformation of the cation is consolidated by intra­molecular O—H⋯Br, O—H⋯O, N—H⋯Br and N—H⋯O hydrogen bonds. The [(NH2)2CSSC(NH2)2]2+ cations form a hydrogen-bonded system involving the Br− ions and the water mol­ecules. Two Br− anions form four hydrogen bonds, each with the NH2 groups of two cations, thus linking the cations into a ring. The rings are connected by water mol­ecules, forming N—H⋯O—H⋯Br hydrogen bonds. The stereoselective synthesis of biobased nonionic sugar surfactants (polyhydroxy surfactants), which are thought to be safer, more affordable, plentiful, biodegradable, biocompatible, and possess mildness and performance in formulation, is becoming increasingly popular as people become more aware of the potential negative effects of conventional surfactants on the environment and human health. Reviewing the stereoselective synthesis of polyhydroxy surfactants is the objective of this article. Additionally, it emphasizes the synthesis and application of sugar‐based surfactants in everyday life, as well as their description and the influence of outside factors. A thorough assessment of the literature on biobased polyhydroxy surfactants including alkyl polyglycosides, sorbitol esters, sucrose esters, fatty acid glucamides, and methyl glucosides was studied for methodology. The characterization of the surfactants shows an exponential increase in electrical conductivity when there is an increase in the water volume fraction. The surface tension also showed a linear relationship with surfactant concentration, such that as the concentration increases, the surface tension of the solution decreases. The effect of external parameters on polyhydroxy surfactants was also studied, which shows that increasing temperature favors micellization initiation at a lower concentration. Likewise, the micellar molecular weight and the hydration per unit mass of the surfactants decrease with an increase in the pH value. Evidence to further support these biobased surfactants as substitutes for their petrochemical counterparts is advantageous as worldwide legislation and user requirements for sustainability and safety expand. In the title compound, C6H4BrF3N4O2, the oxa­diazole ring is essentially planar with a maximum deviation of 0.003 (2) Å. In the crystal, mol­ecular pairs are connected by N—H⋯N hydrogen bonds, forming dimers with an R2²(8) motif. The dimers are linked into layers parallel to the (10...) plane by N—H⋯O hydrogen bonds. In addition, C—O⋯π and C—Br⋯π inter­actions connect the mol­ecules, forming a three-dimensional network. The F atoms of the tri­fluoro­methyl group are disordered over two sites in a 0.515 (6): 0.485 (6) ratio. In the title compound, C15H13NO3S, the mol­ecular conformation is stable with the intra­molecular O—H⋯O hydrogen bond forming a S(7) ring motif. In the crystal, mol­ecules are connected by C—H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming C(8) chains running along the a-axis direction. Cohesion of the packing is provided by weak van der Waals inter­actions between the chains. A Hirshfeld surface analysis was undertaken to investigate and qu­antify the inter­molecular inter­actions. The current economic development paradigm, which is based on steadily rising resource consumption and pollution emissions, is no longer viable in a world with limited resources and ecological capacity. The "green economy" idea has presented this context with a chance to alter how society handles the interplay between the environmental and economic spheres. The related concept of "green nanotechnology" aims to use nano-innovations within the fields of materials science and engineering to generate products and processes that are economically and ecologically sustainable, enabling society to establish and preserve a green economy. Many different economic sectors are anticipated to be impacted by these applications, including those related to corrosion inhibitor nanofertilizers, nanoremediation, biodegradation, heavy metal detection, biofuel, insecticides and pesticides, and catalytic CO2 reduction. These innovations might make it possible to use non-traditional water sources safely and to create construction materials that are enabled by nanotechnology, improving living and ecological conditions. Therefore, our aim is to highlight how nanotechnology is being used in the green economy and to present promises for nano-applications in this domain. The title mol-ecule, C18H26O4, consists of two symmetrical halves related by the inversion centre at the mid-point of the central -C-C- bond. The hexene ring adopts an envelope conformation. In the crystal, the mol-ecules are connected into dimers by C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds with R²2(8) ring motifs, forming zigzag ribbons along the b-axis direction. According to a Hirshfeld surface analysis, H⋯H (68.2%) and O⋯H/H⋯O (25.9%) inter-actions are the most significant contributors to the crystal packing. The interaction of the azo dye methyl red (MR) with dodecyl trimethyl ammonium bromide (DTAB) has been studied by the spectrometric methods through the azo-hydrazone tautomeric behaviour of MR for a series of the ethanol–water system (0.1, 0.2, 0.3 and 0.4 volume fractions of ethanol) at room temperature. The critical micelle concentration was determined using the conductometric technique with the increased ethanol volume, influenced by the solvent polarity and the architectural flexibility of methyl red. The azo form of methyl red brings the electrostatic interaction with the cationic surfactant through the adsorption phenomenon. The binding parameters were calculated with the aid of a modified Benesi–Hildebrand equation.
