The article examines the use of a proposed list of standardized proper behavior for prospective career teachers in the U.S. Authorities in accountability and regulating agencies in charge of teaching competence had enacted into law a proposal by Paul Geisert, a teachers at the Model Secondary College for the Deaf in Washington, D.C. When the students were first registered as education majors, their professors told them that education courses were designed to conform to State Regulations for Competency-based Teacher Education. The article presents the author's perspective a wide variety of training programs in psychiatry in the U.S. The issue about the residents' understanding of the origins and meaning of human behavior and of their own personality make-up had been discussed. With this, several psychiatrists continue a partial hospital practice for one or two years after finishing their training. As they established with a full office load and referral sources, working with hospital patients becomes financially detrimental and somewhat ungratifying intellectually. Thus many psychiatrists therefore drop their hospital practice after a year or two.

The article addresses the problem of reading comprehension among community college students as they affect science instruction. It points out that science curricula should serve both the transfer and the terminal student through separate appropriately designed courses. It adds that emphasis should be given on the achievement of scientific literacy in a technological society. The article suggests the method of instruction to be developmental in nature where the problem is motivated in such a manner that interest is aroused and the students are guided to the solutions of problems by analytic questioning.
