Purpose: The purpose of this study was to analyze the effects of social media analytics on firm performance using a sample of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Thailand. This study also investigated whether entrepreneurial orientation (EO) moderated the effects of social media analytics on firm performance. Design/methodology/approach: This study used SMEs listed in the Department of Business Development of Thailand as the sampling frame. Probability sampling was used to draw the sample. A questionnaire survey was used to collect data from 334 firms. The data were analyzed using partial least squares structural equation modeling. Findings: The results supported the positive association between social media analytics practices on firm performance. Moreover, this study found that EO moderated this association significantly. In particular, the positive association between social media analytics practices on firm performance was higher for firms that exhibit a high EO than those that exhibit a low EO. This result indicated that firms that implement social media analytics practices achieved higher performance when they exhibited a high EO. Practical implications: Social media data analytics should be implemented to strengthen the technological competence of firms. Moreover, firms should integrate EO practices into their implementation of social media analytics to increase their ability to generate substantial improvements in their strategic implementation, thereby enabling them to gain sustainable competitiveness in their market. Social implications: Because SMEs are the driving force for economic growth and development in Thailand, their ability to achieve higher performance when they effectively integrate EO practices into their implementation of social media data analytics could be beneficial for the sustainable development of Thailand, especially in the current data-driven era. Originality/value: The result that EO moderates the effect in enhancing social media analytics practices' influence on firm performance provides new knowledge that extends the boundary of research on this topic. The authors provided a theoretical explanation to clarify the way the implementation of social media analytics practices should be integrated with EO to increase the level of performance that firms achieve from such practices. Purpose: This study explores the concept and antecedents of Intrapreneurship among Thai employees in Bangkok, Thailand. Study design/methodology/approach: The study uses an exploratory sequential mixed methodology. The data were collected from twenty-two in-depth interviews with Thai entrepreneurs and employees, followed by a survey of 648 salaried employees from Bangkok. Findings: The findings from the interviews suggested that a sense of self-belief and ownership, collaboration in a team, the immediate supervisor, certain characteristics of the job and organization, and a culture of innovation in the organization affected intrapreneurship. The quantitative survey findings confirmed that self-efficacy, entrepreneurial orientation, team cohesion, and organizational support were significantly related to intrapreneurship in Thai companies. Additionally, a split data analysis revealed that the factors affecting intrapreneurship were distinct for the male and female cohorts, whereby self-efficacy was significant in the male data, whereas entrepreneurial orientation and team cohesion were significantly related to intrapreneurship in the female data. Practical implications: The study proposes the creation of small teams, introduction of role models and internships, and creation of a platform for exchange of ideas as recommendations to encourage intrapreneurship. The study also notes that these initiatives might affect male and female intrapreneurs distinctly. Originality/value: This is the first notable mixed methods study on intrapreneurship in Thailand. The findings of this study will, therefore, help managers to encourage employees towards intrapreneurial behavior and pave the way for future research on intrapreneurship in Thailand. The purpose of this study is to analyze the internal environment of Chinese enterprises in Thailand. Therefore, the research selects two dimensions of strategic orientation, knowledge creation process and firm performance as measurement criteria. We tested whether entrepreneurial orientation and customer orientation affect firm performance through the knowledge creation process. Research reveals new patterns of business performance success and sustainability through core factors. This study uses the structural equation modeling capabilities of Amos version 24.0 to test the model and collects questionnaires from 319 managers of Chinese-funded enterprises in Thailand. The results showed that the knowledge creation process was significantly influenced by entrepreneurial orientation and customer orientation (p<.001), and the mediating role of the knowledge creation process was verified. Thus, entrepreneur orientation and customer orientation significantly affect the sustainability of firm performance through the knowledge creation process. In addition, the study found that the strategic orientation of Chinese-funded enterprises in Thailand is stable, the knowledge management existed, and the firm performance is successful, which indicates that the internal environment of Chinese enterprises in Thailand is sustainable. The research results could guide the strategic planning and implementation of the start-up enterprises overseas and help the entrepreneurs who invest overseas to analyze the internal environment of their enterprises. Entrepreneurs with multiple abilities perform a vital role in enhancing the economic as well as the operational performance of any particular sector. The career success of an entrepreneur and his role is considered as a leading building block of the performance of the sector in almost all nations. However, the main purpose of the paper is to identify the effect of entrepreneurial grit on the career success of being an entrepreneur in the pharmaceutical sector of Thailand. The career success of an entrepreneur which includes career satisfaction perceived financial attainment, and perceived career achievement analyzed in the given study mainly through the mediating role of entrepreneurial orientation. The research was cross-sectional and the information was gathered from about 421 entrepreneurs of Thailand pharmaceutical sector through the use of questionnaire technique along with a purposive sampling method. The results of the predicted that entrepreneurial grit has a significant impact on achieving success in an entrepreneurial career. In the study, entrepreneurial orientation was also related to all the aspects of career success to identify its impacts, and results indicate that entrepreneurial orientation plays a significant role in improving the career of an entrepreneur. The prime objective of the current study is to examine the impact of the entrepreneur orientation, market orientation, and the learning orientation on the performance of the SMEs in the Thailand. The study has employed the survey-based methodology. The response rate of the current study is 81 percent. The study has employed the structural equation modeling using SEM-PLS. The data is collected from the manufacturing SMEs in Thailand. The research findings obtained in this study contribute to the literature. The study attempted to analyze the effects of learning orientation, entrepreneurial orientation and market orientation on the SMEs performance in Indonesia. In previous studies, single strategy implementation resulted in suboptimal performance. Therefore, the present study further extended this theory by considering all three strategic orientation measures, i.e. market orientation, learning orientation and entrepreneur orientation as the significant SMEs performance drivers. The empirical findings obtained in this study provide supporting evidence in favor of resource-based view (RBV), which suggests the alignment of strategies for higher organizational performance. The findings offer deeper understanding about the effects of EO, MO and LO on the overall SMEs performance in Indonesia. The present study provides insights for the practitioners and policy makers which may facilitate them in the formulation of SMEs related policies. The analytical outcomes suggest that the SMEs managers must closely coordinate with the quality and marketing departments, thereby assisting them in promoting higher performance and customer satisfaction. Performance is a serious concern for manufacturing SMEs, especially for pharmaceutical SMEs in Thailand. Specifically, pharmaceutical SMEs face challenges regarding the enhancing performance by application of total quality management and entrepreneurial orientation. This study envisioned to assess the entrepreneurial orientation and total quality management on organizational performance of pharmaceutical organizations in Thailand. This study also aimed to test the moderating role of organizational learning. To study the proposed association of variables, the data was gathered from the owners and managers of Thai pharmaceutical small and medium firms. This study concluded that entrepreneurial orientation and total quality management are the factors that significantly enhance the performance of pharmaceutical organizations in Thailand. Findings of the study demonstrate that organizational learning significantly moderate the relationship of TQM with performance of pharmaceutical organizations but it does not moderate the link of entrepreneurial orientation. The theoretical contribution of the present study lies in its use of organizational learning as a moderator of the relationships of entrepreneurial orientation, total quality management, and pharmaceutical SMEs' performance..From the practical perspective, the key contribution of this study is that pharmaceutical SMEs in Thailand may clearly appreciate the benefits of devoting greater attention to the implementation of entrepreneurial orientation, total quality management, and organisational learning to attain a sustained competitive advantage. This study examines the relationship between entrepreneurial orientation of female entrepreneurs and business performance, and analyzes the moderating role of institutional capital on the entrepreneurial orientation-performance link. The results of the study highlight the important role of entrepreneurial orientation, including proactiveness, innovativeness and risk-taking, in directing business performance of female entrepreneurs and the complex interplay among entrepreneurial orientation variables. It also indicates that accessibility to institutional capital, through regulative, cognitive and normative dimensions, encourages female entrepreneurs to be more entrepreneurially oriented, thus leading to better business performance. In addition, this research proposes an integrated framework to guide policy makers on how institutional capital can play a crucial role in helping female entrepreneurs, stressing the importance of becoming entrepreneurial oriented and thus, achieving superior business performance. This research investigates the firm performance predictors of Thai SMEs, examining the relationships among market orientation (MO), entrepreneurial orientation (EO), and firm performance (FP) through a sample of 405 SMEs operating in the service and retail industries. Specifically, we test the mediation effects on the relationships between MO, EO, and FP by marketing capabilities. Results indicate that MO has both direct and indirect impacts on FP, whereas EO has only a significant indirect impact on FP through the mediation of marketing capabilities. EO can predict MO, while marketing capabilities can predict marketing performance through financial outcomes. This study does provide evidence for best practice for SMEs in that MO and EO as constructs may not contribute to superior performance, organizations may require organizational capability resources, such as marketing capabilities, to attain superior business results. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the relationship between entrepreneurial orientation and market information capability and their impact on competitive advantage and firm growth. Entrepreneurial orientation is regarded as a strategic dimension and it is assumed that entrepreneurial orientation will determine the extent of market information capability which will eventually affect firm growth. A survey was used as a research instrument and was given to the owner / managers of SMEs enterprises in Thailand. Data was collected from 303 independently owned and operated SMEs manufacturing firms that employ less than 150 employees in Thailand. Results confirmed also that in this study entrepreneurial orientation affected market information capability, competitive advantage and firm growth. However, market information capability is not a mediator of the competitive advantage and firm growth. Thus, contributions and suggestions are also provided for further research. This study assesses the effects of entrepreneurial orientation on competitiveness in the context of SMEs in Thailand. Five dimensions of entrepreneurial orientation (autonomy, innovativeness, risk taking, proactiveness, and competitive aggressiveness) were chosen as independent variables. In the results of the study, all dimensions of entrepreneurial orientation have significant positive direct influences on SMEs' competitiveness. These dimensions are important to positively explain and drive superior, unique, and outstanding competitiveness. Giving potential discussion is effectively implemented in the study. The purpose of this research is to study the factors related to the performance of the entrepreneurs who passed through the stages of business development at the university business incubators in Thailand. These factors consist of various characteristics, namely, leadership orientation, entrepreneurial orientation, network capacity, and innovative capacity. The sample group consisted of 220 businesses that had passed through a university business incubator in Thailand. The SPSS Statistics program calculated the basic statistics, as well as the relationship test for each factor studied, and examined the statistics using a structural equation model (SEM). The results revealed that the characteristics of leadership orientation, entrepreneurial orientation, network capacity, innovative capacity, and entrepreneurial performance had relationships in the same direction. Furthermore, an analysis of the relationships between the factors found that entrepreneurial orientation had positive relationships with network capacity and innovative capacity, leadership orientation had positive relationships with innovative capacity and entrepreneurial performance, and innovative capacity had a positive relationship with entrepreneurial performance. These relationships summarize a developmental model for the innovative capacity and performance of businesses that have passed through the university business incubators in Thailand.
