Active control of photosynthetic activities is important in plant physiological study. Although models of plant photosynthesis have been built at different scales, they have not been fully examined for their application in plant growth control. However, we do not have an infrastructure to support such experiments since current plant growth chambers usually use fixed control protocols. In our current paper, an open IoT-based framework is proposed. This framework allows a plant scientist or agricultural engineer, through an application programming interface (API), in a desirable programming language, (1) to gather environmental data and plant physiological responses; (2) to program and execute control algorithms based on their models, and then (3) to implement real-time commands to control environmental factors. A plant growth chamber was developed to demonstrate the concept of the proposed open framework.

There are many natural conditions in the world, such as floods and earthquakes that cause major accidents. The actual question is how to anticipate and predict such events, which enables us to prepare ourselves in advance. We are interested in the advance classification of incoming calls to the smart city 112 public safety system for Ljubljana, the capital city of Slovenia, and the whole country. We used open Internet of Things data for Ljubljana and the whole of Slovenia for the years 2013-2016. Using different classification methods, different models were obtained and compared with each other. We have provided a report on how accurate the forecasts are and what classification result differences occur when different models or data of the capital city or the whole of Slovenia are used. Web of Objects uses a semantic ontology to create and provide knowledge-based Internet of Things services in terms of virtual objects and composite virtual objects. The objects are created through virtualization with the use of semantic ontology to form the virtual objects, where multiple virtual objects are combined to form the composite virtual objects to offer the services. Beacon-enabled Web of Objects is the extension of the existing web that allows the beacon to broadcast the uniform resource identifier of the real-world object to the nearer mobile devices. Based on the user selection and request, the service is handled and offered by the Web of Objects platform; thus, an architecture on the beacon-enabled Web of Objects has been proposed in this article. To offer the knowledge-based services, a knowledge creation model has been presented. To realize the knowledge-based service features on the proposed architecture, a use case scenario has been presented and a conceptual semantic ontology model has been designed. In recent years due to technological advancements, the Internet of Things (IoT) has been continuously shaping the way to interact with the world around us in homes, workplaces and in different aspects of our life. However, the IoT is an infrastructure-less network and used for long-distance communication, the IoT nodes seek the help of other nodes for effective communication and information transfer. In IoT network, secure communication is the prime concern because of the open internet source and heterogeneity which offers challenges to the network. To achieve efficient security in the IoT devices and to make the IoT network more resilient to different attacks, there is a need to design a secure framework to make the IoT more secure against several security threats. Trust Sensing has been playing a significant role in dealing with security issues. A new Light Weight Clustered Trust Sensing (LWCTS) Mechanism is developed which mainly aims at the reduction of energy consumption of IoT nodes. Initially, the LWCTS clusters the network and chooses Cluster Heads that are rich in resources. Furthermore, the proposed trust model considers two factors: Interactive trust factor and the mobility factor for trust sensing. The mobility factor involvement is mainly implemented to reduce the false positive count in the network. Simulation experiments are conducted over the proposed model and the performance is measured with Malicious Detection Rate, False Negative Rate, False Positive Rate, Average Energy Consumption, and Packet Delivery Ratio. Power system configuration and performance are changing very quickly. Under the new paradigm of prosumers and energy communities, grids are increasingly influenced by microgeneration systems connected in both low and medium voltage. In addition, these facilities provide little or no information to distribution and/or transmission system operators, increasing power system management problems. Actually, information is a great asset to manage this new situation. The arrival of affordable and open Internet of Things (IoT) technologies is a remarkable opportunity to overcome these inconveniences allowing for the exchange of information about these plants. In this paper, we propose a monitoring solution applicable to photovoltaic self-consumption or any other microgeneration installation, covering the installations of the so-called 'prosumers' and aiming to provide a tool for local self-consumption monitoring. A detailed description of the proposed system at the hardware level is provided, and extended information on the communication characteristics and data packets is also included. Results of different field test campaigns carried out in real PV self-consumption installations connected to the grid are described and analyzed. It can be affirmed that the proposed solution provides outstanding results in reliability and accuracy, being a popular solution for those who cannot afford professional monitoring platforms. Background: An aging population, accompanied by the prevalence of age-related diseases, presents a significant burden to health systems. This is exacerbated by an increasing shortage of aged care staff due to the existing workforce entering their retirement and fewer young people being attracted to work in aged care. In line with consumer preferences and potential cost-efficiencies, government and aged care providers are increasingly seeking options to move care and support to the community or home as opposed to residential care facilities. However, compared to residential care, home environments may provide limited opportunity for monitoring patients' progression/decline in functioning and therefore limited opportunity to provide timely intervention. To address this, the Smarter Safer Homes (SSH) platform was designed to enable self-monitoring and/or management, and to provide aged care providers with support to deliver their services. The platform uses open Internet of Things communication protocols to easily incorporate commercially available sensors into the system. Objective: Our research aims to detail the benefits of utilizing the SSH platform as a service in its own right as well as a complementary service to more traditional/historical service offerings in aged care. This work is anticipated to validate the capacity and benefits of the SSH platform to enable older people to self-manage and aged care service providers to support their clients to live functionally and independently in their own homes for as long as possible. Methods: This study was designed as a single-blinded, stratified, 12-month randomized controlled trial with participants recruited from three aged care providers in Queensland, Australia. The study aimed to recruit 200 people, including 145 people from metropolitan areas and 55 from regional areas. Participants were randomized to the intervention group (having the SSH platform installed in their homes to assist age care service providers in monitoring and providing timely support) and the control group (receiving their usual aged care services from providers). Data on community care, health and social-related quality of life, health service utilization, caregiver burden, and user experience of both groups were collected at the start, middle (6 months), and end of the trial (12 months). Results: The trial recruited its first participant in April 2019 and data collection of the last participant was completed in November 2020. The trial eventually recruited 195 participants, with 98 participants allocated to the intervention group and 97 participants allocated to the control group. The study also received participants' health service data from government data resources in June 2021. Conclusions: A crisis is looming to support the aging population. Digital solutions such as the SSH platform have the potential to address this crisis and support aged care in the home and community. The outcomes of this study could improve and support the delivery of aged care services and provide better quality of life to older Australians in various geographical locations. With the rise of Internet of Things (IoT) technology, the seamless connection between the physical and digital worlds has been realized. This review paper aims to conduct a science mapping review of IoT applications in industrial management and to identify mainstream research topics, research gaps, and future research directions. Using VOSviewer as a visualization tool, 142 articles retrieved from the Scopus database were quantitatively discussed using scientometric analysis. Additionally, a follow-up qualitative discussion was focused on mainstream research topics, existing research gaps, and future research directions as the main research goals. The results revealed influential findings for the co-occurrence of keywords, journals, countries, authors, and documents analyses. Moreover, it was found that the existing research mainly focused on four main research topics including (1) application of IoT in manufacturing based on cyber-physical systems, (2) IoT-related technologies on logistics and supply chain management, (3) The impact of IoT on business models, and (4) Industrial IoT (IIoT) in the context of Industry 4.0. On this basis, the existing research gaps and future research directions are proposed. Smart transportation relies on data collection, transmission, processing, and release, involving various terminal devices, control systems, central platforms, and communication links, so its control process is more complicated. In order to improve the operation efficiency of the intelligent traffic control system, based on the open Internet of Things and machine learning, this paper builds an intelligent three-way intelligent traffic control system, sets various parameters, and builds a simulation model using cellular automata as a platform. Moreover, in order to study the performance of the model, the model constructed in this paper is compared with the model of the traditional road traffic control system. In addition, this paper analyzes the model constructed in this paper through the statistics of the highest vehicle flow on the road and the relationship between road occupancy and vehicle speed. Internet of Things (IoT) enabled wireless body area network (WBAN) is a novel technology that combines medical, wireless, and non-medical devices for healthcare management applications. Indoor healthcare institutions, such as hospitals, may employ IoT devices to manage medical equipment, maintain inventory, and monitor patients. In addition to monitoring temperature, humidity, and air quality, IoT sensors may help prevent the spread of sickness. The data generated by small sensor devices need strong security methods for secure transmission over a public network. Security of the data sent from source to destination is handled by transport layer security (TLS) protocol and prevent message loss or reordering. The most difficult component of TLS is determining how to handle reliability. Low-power wireless networks employ the Datagram Transport Layer Security (DTLS) protocol to solve this problem. But if the Server is exposed to a malicious attack (i.e., flooded with ClientHello messages, the DTLS protocol may no longer serve the purpose) as it may lead to Denial-of-Service (DoS). The paper proposes an intelligent gateway-based verification and approval system to protect health data from IoT wearable devices, a key worldwide data security risk. Paper used Contiki Network Simulator for designing an advanced smart gateway-based constrained application Improved DTLS (CoAP I-DTLS) security protocol. To assess the effectiveness of the proposed work, the packet loss ratio is computed for the CoAP, CoAP-DTLS, and CoAP I-DTLS protocols. To assess the effectiveness of the improved CoAP I-DTLS, calculations are also made for data transfer and handshake time. As access to the Internet has become increasingly essential for social and economic participation, public domain Internet measurements have become indispensable for users to validate quality of service their network operator delivers and for policymakers to identify and address gaps in broadband infrastructure. This article evaluates public domain Internet performance measurements available for assessing the state of connectivity and developing universal access service quality standards in Canada. The analysis suggests that different approaches to Internet measurement represent complementary windows into a complex and fast evolving reality of broadband connectivity. Despite their potential shortcomings, large-scale crowdsourced open data network testing platforms have a central role to play in enabling broadband infrastructure policy coordination across different levels of government, empowerment of consumers, and achievement of universal service objectives for quality of service users experience when accessing the open Internet. Internet of Things (IoT) represent a network of resource‐constrained sensor devices connected through the open Internet, susceptible to misuse by intruders. Traditional standalone intrusion detection systems (IDS) are tasked with monitoring device behaviours to identify malicious activities. These systems not only require extensive network and system resources but also cause delays in detecting a malicious actor due to unavailability of a comprehensive view of the intruder's activities. Collaboration among IoT devices enables considering knowledge from a collection of host and network devices to achieve improved detection accuracy in a timely manner. However, collaboration introduces the challenge of energy efficiency and event processing which is particularly significant for resource‐constrained devices. In this paper, we present a collaborative intrusion detection framework (COLIDE) for IoT leveraging collaboration among resource‐constrained sensor and border nodes for effective and timely detection of intruders. The paper presents a detailed formal description of the proposed framework along with analysis to assess its effectiveness for a typical IoT system. We implemented the COLIDE framework with Contiki OS and conducted thorough experimentation to evaluate its performance. The advent of Internet of Things (IoT) devices has revolutionized our daily routines, fostering interconnectedness and convenience. However, this interconnected network also presents significant security challenges concerning authentication and data integrity. Traditional security measures, such as Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), encounter limitations when applied to resource-constrained IoT devices. This paper proposes a novel decentralized PKI system tailored specifically for IoT environments to address these challenges. Our approach introduces a unique "zone" architecture overseen by zone masters, facilitating efficient certificate management within IoT clusters while reducing the risk of single points of failure. Furthermore, we prioritize the use of lightweight cryptographic techniques, including Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC), to optimize performance without compromising security. Through comprehensive evaluation and benchmarking, we demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposed solution in bolstering the security and efficiency of IoT ecosystems. In Internet of Things (IoT), secure communication is a prime concern since the open internet source and vast heterogeneity offers several challenges to the network. To achieve an enhanced security, an effective trust evaluation model is required through which the abnormal nodes can be detected and isolated. Towards this objective we have proposed a Light Weight Trust Sensing (LWTS) mechanism for IoT routing. Several factors like Packet Forwarding Factor, Packet Consistency Factor and Packet Repetition Factor are employed to analyze the behaviour of IoT nodes. Along with these factors, the proposed model also checks for energy efficiency to achieve an improved network lifetime. Trust Calculation process is accomplished in two phases; they are direct and indirect fashion. Finally based on obtained total trust, each neighbour node are categorized as No Trust, Average Trust, Fair Trust and Good Trust and the node with good trust is selected as next-hop forwarding node. For the proposed approach extensive simulations are carried out and the performance is measured through Packet Delivery Ratio, Malicious Detection Rate and Average Energy Consumption. Over the past few decades, the harmful effects of industrial activity and consumer society have resulted in global warming. Governments and international organizations are looking for ways to monitor activities of individuals and companies to assess their ecological impact. Unfortunately, such an approach would easily be seen as a mass surveillance tool. This is why we are proposing in this paper a novel privacy-aware global infrastructure for ecological footprint calculator based on the Internet of things and blockchain. Indeed, we take advantage of the data collection capacity of the Internet of things, the anonymization provided by public key identification and encryption, and the immutability of blockchain to implement this global system. A three-stage approach was used to validate our architecture: modeling in Petri nets to verify that the infrastructure fulfills all the required missions, implementing the three central authorities with python to record parameters such as durations, and finally modeling in queuing networks to demonstrate stability. The blockchain and Internet of things parts are used in a purely abstract manner relying on standard concepts; therefore, we have not implemented them. The experiments have produced very promising results. We have shown that for the simplest form of queue modeling, the involved servers have a utilization rate that is close to 50 % and that the overall waiting time remains below one minute. We instantiate a social things paradigm in terms of a social network of facts which drives our household appliances in our name. The appliances are connected to the network, directly receiving the sequence of instructions (parameter/value pairs) constituting the recipe to perform a task requested by the user. The recipes are issued by the computational intelligence algorithms in the core of the social network. Users, appliances and social network are part of an entire ecosystem that we realized in the frame of the EU project Social&Smart. Humanoid doctor is an AI-based robot that featured remote bi-directional communication and is embedded with disruptive technologies. Accurate and real-time responses are the main characteristics of a humanoid doctor which diagnoses disease in a patient. The patient details are obtained by Internet of Things devices, edge devices, and text formats. The inputs from the patient are processed by the humanoid doctor, and it provides its opinion to the patient. The historical patient data are trained using cloud artificial intelligence platform and the model is tested against the patient sample data acquired using medical IoT and edge devices. Disease is identified at three different stages and analyzed. The humanoid doctor is expected to identify the diseases well in comparison with human healthcare professionals. The humanoid doctor is under-trusted because of the lack of a multi-featured accurate model, accessibility, availability, and standardization. In order to address the security risks associated with the theft of private images over open Internet of Things (IoT), this paper introduces a new Logistic-Sine-Coupling Map (LoSCM) in three dimensions with a better chaotic behavior, and proposes an image encryption algorithm using an improved Radial Diffusion (ImRD) to achieve a better diffusion effect in image encryption process. Firstly, a preprocessed image is obtained through an XOR operation between the original plain image and a random generated matrix, followed by Secure Hash Algorithm 512 (SHA-512) performed on it, producing a plaintext information with length of 512 bits. Then, a parameter transformation model (PaTM) is constructed, and the plaintext key associated with the plain image is computed by the plaintext property. Secondly, by employing public-key Rivest-Shamir-Adleman cryptogram, i.e., RSA, the ciphertext key is obtained through the plaintext key and opened to public. Then, a new initial value acquisition model (InVAM) is designed to calculate the initial values of LoSCM, thereby generating the corresponding keystream. Finally, XOR, row scrambling, ImRD diffusion, and column scrambling are performed on secret plain image, followed by modular addition with a random matrix to get the final cipher image. Furthermore, the simulation results and performance analysis also prove that the new suggested image encryption algorithm in this paper can effectively oppose chosen or known-plaintext attack. In order to develop a new convenient online monitoring system for Internet of things, an online monitoring system based on cloud computing is designed. The performance of this new Internet of things technology used in modern agricultural is test by Amazon relational database service (RDS) and ZigBee perception network. By analyzing the Internet of things related technologies and agricultural modernization, the integration framework of the Internet of things, cloud computing and data mining technology in the field of modern agriculture are proposed. Through the modern agricultural Internet of things monitoring system, the Internet of things intelligent gateway, cloud based research and construction of large data analysis and data mining projects are verified. The experimental results show that the relevant parameters of the model are obtained by training about 70% of the original data after adopting the cloud computing. Based on the above finding, it is concluded that the open Internet of things platform needs to be supported by the powerful computing resources. In the past few years the use of IoT devices has grown exponentially. When it comes to working with them, we find a series of problems that are not easy to solve. On the one hand, the simple fact of communicating with those devices can be problematic since they can use different types of technologies regarding that communication. On the other hand, these types of devices usually aim to perform their function using the lowest possible energy, meaning they have certain constraints in terms of performance. Trying to work with these devices in high-availability environments becomes difficult because of those restraints. This paper introduces digital dice, a virtual representation of IoT devices and cyber-physical systems based on microservices that uses the standard established by the W3C, the Web of Things, as the underlying framework to declare its possible interactions. The article puts forward the different strategies that Digital Dice uses to mitigate the problems raised. The Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) enables the improvement of the productivity and intelligent level of factory. The procedure of product quality inspection has generally adopted machine intelligence algorithms instead of manual operation to improve efficiency. In this paper, we propose a product quality inspection system scheme based on software-defined edge intelligent controller (SD-EIC). By adopting the software definition and resource virtualization technologies, the hardware platform of SD-EIC is designed to support the real-time control tasks and non-real-time edge computing tasks at the same time. To this end, we propose the scheme and architecture of product quality inspection system based on SD-EIC. Multiple virtual controllers and virtual edge computing nodes are constructed on a set of SD-EIC hardware platform to realize the integrated deployment of the real-time control for terminal devices and the AI model reasoning of product defect recognition algorithm based on machine vision respectively. In addition, the management and control scheme of product quality inspection system based on industrial information model is proposed. By constructing the semantic-based digital twin information model of terminal device, the flexible adjustment and parameter configuration of terminal device are realized to meet the demands of flexible production and manufacturing. The proposed product quality inspection system solution can effectively improve the utilization of hardware resources and the efficiency of product quality inspection, and reduce the overall deployment cost of the system. Due to high computation and communication overheads, the traditional certificate-based authentication schemes are predominantly considered impractical for resource-constraint 6LoWPAN devices used in IoT applications. However, a certificate with some lightweight features makes the authentication feasible in those resource-constraint 6LoWPAN devices. This paper proposes a lightweight certificate-based authentication scheme based on cryptographic hash operation and elliptic curve digital signature algorithm. It can mitigate several security threats, including replay, man-in-the-middle, impersonation, malicious device deployment, and spoofing attacks. The automated validation of Internet security protocols and applications (AVISPA) verification tool is used to formally verify the security of the proposed scheme against several known attacks. In addition, the correctness of the authentication scheme is verified using the widely accepted BAN logic. The social internet of things (SIoT) facilitates numerous networking services and novel applications for the IoT, making it more productive and powerful. The state-of-the-art machine learning architectures often face different challenges when processing big data such as increased memory volume, increased training time, and higher computational costs. To tackle these challenges, this paper presents a novel framework for big data classification. Initially, an adaptive filter removes unwanted data and noises. The dimensionality of the filter data is then reduced via the Hadoop map reducer. After that, the battle royale optimization (BRO) algorithm is applied for feature selection. The optimal feature selection process performed by the BRO algorithm improves the accuracy and performance of the proposed fuzzy optimal deep convolutional neural network (FO-DCNN). The FO-DCNN model is formed by integrating the fuzzy-based remora optimization (F-RO) algorithm and deep CNN architecture for robust SIoT data classification. When evaluated using the Twitter, Rotten tomato, skin disease, diabetes, and hepatitis datasets, the proposed model offers improvements in terms of classification accuracy, memory consumption, and computational time. Various eHealth applications based on the Internet of Things (IoT) contain a considerable number of medical images and visual electronic health records, which are transmitted through the Internet everyday. Information forensics thus becomes a critical issue. This paper presents a data hiding algorithm for absolute moment block truncation coding (AMBTC) images, wherein secret data, or the authentication code, can be embedded in images to enhance security. Moreover, in view of the importance of transmission efficiency in IoT, image compression is widely used in Internet-based applications. To cope with this challenge, we present a novel compression method named gradient-based (GB) compression, which is compatible with AMBTC compression. Therefore, after applying the block classification scheme, GB compression and data hiding can be performed jointly for blocks with strong gradient effects, and AMBTC compression and data hiding can be performed jointly for the remaining blocks. The Internet of Things (IoT) is a very abundant source of data, as well as a source of many vulnerabilities. A significant challenge is preparing security solutions to protect IoT nodes' resources and the data exchanged. The difficulty usually stems from the insufficient resources of these nodes in terms of computing power, memory size, range energy resource, and wireless link performance. The paper presents the design and demonstrator of a system for symmetric cryptographic Key Generating, Renewing, and Distributing (KGRD). The system uses the TPM 2.0 hardware module to support cryptographic procedures, including creating trust structures, key generation, and securing the node's exchange of data and resources. Clusters of sensor nodes and traditional systems can use the KGRD system to secure data exchange in the federated cooperation of systems with IoT-derived data sources. (1) Background: Third-generation sequencing (TGS) technique directly sequences single deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) molecules, enabling real-time sequencing and reducing sequencing time from a few days to a few hours. Sequencing devices can be miniaturized and DNA-reading sensors placed on the body to monitor human health and vital signs, building an "internet of living things" (IoLT) facilitating ubiquitous healthcare services. In many cases, patients may wish to directly connect to each other for purposes of sharing real-time sequencing data, medical status or trading genomic data, etc. (2) Problems: User registration for a specific service may be limited due to some reason. Registering for multiple redundant services would also result in wasted money and possible wasteful communication overhead. In addition, since medical data and health information are very sensitive, security and privacy issues in the network are of paramount importance. (3) Methods: In this article, I propose a cross-server end-to-end (CS-E2E) patient authenticated key agreement protocol for DNA-based healthcare services in IoLT networks. My work allows two patients to mutually authenticate each other through assistance of respective servers, so that they can establish a reliable shared session key for securing E2E communications. The design employs multiple cost-saving solutions and robust cryptographic primitives, including smart-card-based single sign-on, elliptic curve cryptography, biohash function, etc. (4) Results: My proposed protocol is proven to be secure against various attacks and to incur reasonable communication cost compared to its predecessor works. The protocol also provides the support for more security properties and better functionalities. IoT is one of the fastest-growing technologies and it is estimated that more than a billion devices would be utilised across the globe by the end of 2030. To maximise the capability of these connected entities, trust and reputation among IoT entities is essential. Several trust management models have been proposed in the IoT environment; however, these schemes have not fully addressed the IoT devices' features, such as device's role, device type and its dynamic behavior in a smart environment. As a result, traditional trust and reputation models are insufficient to tackle these characteristics and uncertainty risks while connecting nodes to the network. Whilst continuous study has been carried out and various articles suggest promising solutions in constrained environments, research on trust and reputation is still at its infancy. In this paper, we carry out a comprehensive literature review on state-of-the-art research on the trust and reputation of IoT devices and systems. Specifically, we first propose a new structure, namely a new taxonomy, to organise the trust and reputation models based on the ways trust is managed. The proposed taxonomy comprises of traditional trust management-based systems and artificial intelligence-based systems, and combine both the classes which encourage the existing schemes to adapt these emerging concepts. This collaboration between the conventional mathematical and the advanced ML models result in design schemes that are more robust and efficient. Then we drill down to compare and analyse the methods and applications of these systems based on community-accepted performance metrics,e.g. scalability, delay, cooperativeness and efficiency. Smart Grid substations rely on conventional Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems for remote supervision and control. However, these systems are limited in the geographical area they cover. Recently, the Internet of Things (IoT) has paved the way for connecting a vast number of devices to the Internet, which would be effective and beneficial for power system automation and data acquisition. In this paper, an intelligent low-cost SCADA system based on IoT for transmission line fault diagnosis is proposed. In the first step of the proposed scheme, voltage and current signals at the relaying point are preprocessed and analyzed using Discrete Cosine Transform (DCT). Next, signal energy components are extracted and sent to a Boosted Decision Tree (BSDT), a reliable and fast ensemble classifier, to identify fault type and, accordingly, a specific ANN is activated to estimate fault location. The diagnosis data is sent to a microcontroller to be displayed, trip the load circuit, and allow communication with Cloud ThingSpeak platform via the ESP8266 wi-fi communication module which makes data available anywhere all over the world. The approach is applied on a real-world HV transmission line, located between Samalut and Cairo, Egypt, where more than 16000 faults cases are well tested. As an extension of the wired network, the use of the wireless communication network has considerably boosted users' productivity at work and in their daily lives. The most notable aspect of the wireless communication network is that it overcomes the constraints of the wired network, reduces the amount of cost spent on wire maintenance, and distributes itself in a manner that is both more extensive and flexible. Combining wireless communication with the Internet of Things (IoT) can be used in several applications, including smart cities, smart traffic, smart farming, smart drones, etc. However, when exchanging data, wireless communication networks use an open network, allowing unauthorized users to engage in communication that is seriously destructive. Therefore, authentication through a digital signature will be the best solution to tackle such problems. Several digital signatures are contributing to the authentication process in a wireless communication network; however, they are suffering from several problems, including forward security, key escrow, certificate management, revocations, and high computational and communication costs, respectively. Keeping in view the above problems, in this paper we proposed an efficient certificateless forward-secure signature scheme for secure deployments in wireless communication networks. The security analysis of the proposed scheme is carried out using the random oracle model (ROM), which shows that it is unforgeable against type 1 and type 2 adversaries. Moreover, the computational and communication cost analyses are carried out by using major operations, major operations cost in milliseconds, and extra communication bits. The comparative analysis with the existing scheme shows that the proposed scheme reduces the computational cost from 19.23% to 97.54% and the communication overhead from 11.90% to 83.48%, which means that the proposed scheme is efficient, faster, and more secure for communication in the wireless communication network. The paper describes a secure solution beyond the traditional perimeter-based security approach, which consists of an architecture that supports multi-level authorization to achieve fine-grained access control, better scalability, and maintainability. An implementation of the proposed solution, using open-source technologies, is also discussed and covers the protection of both the network and edge domains of a complex IIoT infrastructure. Finally, the paper presents a risk-driven and model-based process that is designed to support the migration of existing infrastructures to the solution architecture. The list of Sustainable Development Goals created by the United Nations include good health and well-being as one of its primary objectives. Pollution is a concern worldwide, and pollution levels inside buildings (homes or workplaces) can be higher than outdoors. To alleviate this problem and improve air quality, ornamental plants can be used. This paper presents the application of Internet of Things (IoT) technologies to develop a system called P4L, an acronym for "Plants for Life". The objective of P4L is the automated care of potted plants to improve air quality and make the indoor environments of a building healthier. This IoT-based system (IoTS) has been developed through low-cost Arduino-compatible components. In addition, the Test-Driven Development Methodology for IoT-based Systems (TDDM4IoTS) has been used to guide P4L development. In fact, this article shows the result of the application of this methodology (phase by phase), with the help of the Test-Driven Development Tool for IoT-based Systems (TDDT4IoTS), which supports the aforementioned methodology, to develop P4L. Lightweight Cryptography is a constituent of cryptography that is applicable in the Internet of Things (IoT) platform. IoT is a promising technology with an embedded device that assembles collection of objects. Such objects can be smart devices, computers, humans and etc., that connect together using the internet and can communicate with each other for information sharing. However, smart devices are lightweight, resource-restricted devices, such as limited memory, processing speed and limited key size. The IoT has many problems and challenges due to the inherent features of smart devices. Security and privacy are one of the key concerns in IoT since devices exchange data in open wireless network and an attacker can easily access the network and performs different types of malfunctions such as viewing and modifying the valuable data. In order to solve these issues, a variety of cryptographic algorithms have been proposed and each one has its own characteristics. Based on the investigation of cryptography algorithms, there is a need to construct a cipher known as FibGeoPresent, a lightweight block cipher. The proposed cipher was compared to the existing cipher over different metrics. The problems faced by the open technological innovation of China's new ICT (information and communications technology) industry under IoT (Internet of Things) technology are expected to be analyzed to improve the overall innovation ability and ensure the sustainable development of related industries. An evaluation model is constructed for open technological innovation in the IoT industry by analyzing the development of IPR (Intellectual Property Rights) management, network strategy, and AI (artificial intelligence) technology under the development of IoT technology. Meanwhile, IBM SPSS Statistics 20.0 and IBM SPSS Amos 19.0 are used to analyze the data information of 306 enterprises in the information technology industry. Besides, the proposed hypotheses are verified by factor analysis, multiple regression, and Back Propagation Neural Network. Finally, a new evaluation index system is constructed for open technological innovation in the new ICT industry. The development of IoT technology provides a primary guarantee for the open technological innovation of the new ICT industry, and the network strategy has the greatest influence on the internal knowledge output mode. Besides, the experimental results indicate that the IoT and artificial intelligence have a critical display value for the open technological innovation of the emerging ICT industry, with the highest weight ratio of 48.25%. This result demonstrates that artificial intelligence is positively correlated with the external input information. Intellectual property management is a crucial guarantee of open technology innovation in the ICT industry. The evaluation model of open technological innovation in the ICT industry has good performance through case analysis, with the highest accuracy of 91.25%. This paper presents a survey of the worldwide use of Digital Television interactivity (DTVi) standards. First, we recall some concepts of first-generation interactivity middlewares released in the early 2000s, such as the European MHP (based on Java) and the Japanese BML (based on XML). Then, we cover the new standards (emerging after 2010) that introduced the new Integrated Broadcast Broadband (IBB) model, which combines broadcast signals with a broadband interface and leverages synergies to offer high-quality, flexible, interactive and customized services and applications to viewers. Regarding IBB systems, we also cover the main aspects of their architectures and innovations introduced by this kind of technology, such as support to companion devices, e.g., smartphones, tablets, targeted advertisements, and integration with Internet-of-Things (IoT) devices. 'Interoperability' means the ability for two different and independent information and communication technology (ICT) systems to exchange information and use that information. Whether or to what extent ICT interoperability needs to be regulated vis-a-vis the new technological challenges, poses a compelling question for the law and policy makers. Given this overarching question, this study first attempts to evaluate the issue from a multidisciplinary legal viewpoint and secondly examines the architectural settings of cloud computing and the Internet of Things (IoT). It is concluded that a layered regulatory model can respond to the ICT interdependent layers, as peculiarities of both the cloud and the IoT architectures are all-encompassed by such a model. It is also considered that a bottom-up, ex-ante and holistic approach developed under the layered regulatory model could address wide-ranging gatekeeping activities, responding not only competition concerns but also techno-social concerns, which constitute the main thread of ICT interoperability and accompanying problems. Finally, it is proposed this model can be transposed into the EU law, and to that end, it is suggested that the model replace the core measures of the electronic communications regulatory framework, along with a set of principles i.e. transparency, fairness, accountability and corresponding remedies. Due to the narrow range of route search and the single choice of the optimal route during the peak period of tourists' tourism, resulting in a long walking time and relatively high route cost, an intelligent tourism information service model considering tourists' experience is proposed in the environment of Internet of things. Firstly, the overall architecture of the Internet of things environment is designed to obtain the characteristic data of the carrying capacity of scenic spots, including tourism resources, psychology, ecology, and economic carrying capacity, based on which the tourist perception experience model is constructed; different service functions such as in-depth mining of Web content, personalized information push, and data information conversion under the environment of Internet of things and the construction of intelligent tourism information service model are realized. Traffic management is becoming increasingly complex due to the increasing diversity of IoT platforms and protocols supported by heterogeneous devices. Recently, device fingerprinting techniques for automatic device recognition leveraging on domain knowledge in TCP/IP and AI techniques are becoming more prevalent. However, existing machine-learning (ML) models have trained HTTP and TCP flows that are not correctly weighted. Besides, these models are trained with algorithms that can extrapolate temporal information; thus, they are not temporal aware. This paper presents a two-level machine learning pipeline (IoT Sense) for IoT device recognition, using (1) SVM and Decision Tree to model the spatial behaviors and (2) RNN to model the device-to-device temporal actions. The ground truth of the work is that the communication behaviors of IoT sensors, actuators, and devices are more deterministic using control plane traffic instead of data plane traffic. IoT devices commonly rely on SSDP, IoTivity, AllJoyn to discover neighbors and exchange devices' information. These device-to-device hello(s) are more predictable than traffic patterns induced by random usage behaviors. Deep learning (DL) models trained on raw traffic; without adding custom weightage to control packets; can be biased towards user-induced behaviors that eventually over-fit the resulting model. IoT Sense classify based on the connectivity pattern among IoT nodes using control plane traffic that includes discovery, handshake, and session establishment flows. IoT Sense is platform-agnostic since it operates on connection properties (TCPIP/layer 3) instead of protocols (like CoAP, MQTT). This article surveys existing techniques for meeting the time-bound requirements of time-sensitive applications in the Internet of Things (IoT). To provide the foundation for identifying and classifying relevant techniques, we present three sample time-sensitive IoT applications and their time-bound requirements, describe the main computation and network resources in IoT that can be used to process such applications, and identify the main challenges in meeting their time-bound requirements.
