In conjunction with pandemics, medical image data are growing exponentially. In some countries, hospitals collect biometric data from patients, such as fingerprints, iris, or faces. This data can be used for things like identity verification and security management. However, this medical data can be easily compromised by hackers. In order to prevent illegal tampering with medical images and invasion of privacy, a new texture fusion medical image encryption (TFMIE) algorithm derived from biometric images is proposed, which can encrypt the image using biometric information for storage or transmission. First, the medical image is decomposed into n-bit-planes by bit-plane decomposition. Secondly, a fusion image is generated by a biometric image with a circular local binary pattern and pixel-weighted average method. The fused image is further decomposed into n bit-planes through bit-plane decomposition and performs XOR operation with the original medical image in reverse order. Following the execution of the XOR operation, a new scrambling and diffusion algorithm based on a one-dimensional fractional trigonometric function (1DFTF) chaotic map is employed to form the cipher image. The experimental results show that compared with the existing methods, the average information entropy value of TFMIE is 7.99, and the average values of NPCR and UACI reach 0.9958 and 0.3346, respectively, which have strong key sensitivity, good robustness, and anti-attack ability. In haptic interaction technology, texture haptic display is an important part. In order to perceive color image texture better, the haptic display methods of color texture based on force feedback and tactile feedback are proposed in this work. On the one hand, through the study of the physiological and psychological perception characteristics of color information, a new force rendering method of color image texture based on force feedback device is presented. The experimental results of color texture force perception show that the color texture force rendering algorithm in this paper works well. On the other hand, a color texture vibration tactile model is established based on the designed vibrotactile device. Its effectiveness is verified by vibration tactile perception experiment. Finally, for the color texture image of the real object surface, the force and vibrotactile display methods of color texture in this paper are used to conduct perception experiments and compared. The rendering effect of known visual image texture is poor and the output image is not always clear. To solve this problem, this paper proposes a visual image rendering based on scene visual understanding algorithm. In this approach, the color segmentation of known visual scene is carried out according to a predefined threshold, and the segmented image is processed by morphology. For this purpose, the extraction rules are formulated to screen the candidate regions. The color image is fused and filtered in the neighborhood, the pixels of the image are extracted, and the 2D texture recognition is realized by multilevel fusion and visual feature reconstruction. Using compact sampling to extract more target features, feature points are matched, the coordinate system of known image information are integrated into a unified coordinate system, and design images are generated to complete art-aided design. Simulation results show that the proposed method is more accurate than the original method for extracting the information of known images, which helps to solve the problem of clearly visible output images and improves the overall design effect. In order to improve the accuracy of cirrhosis staging diagnosis based on MR images, a diagnostic method combining image texture feature extraction and classification algorithm is proposed. Firstly, the liver MR image is preprocessed, the region of interest (ROI) image patch is extracted therefrom, and the ROI image is quantized and compressed by the Lloyd algorithm. Then, the ROI image is filtered by a local binary pattern (LBP) operator, and then the texture feature of a 20-dimensional gray-level co-occurrence Matrix (GLCM) in four directions on the LBP image is extracted. Finally, MR image is classified by performing support vector machine (SVM) and the final diagnosis of liver cirrhosis is obtained. Fractal image compression coding algorithm is a novel image compression technology; however, the long encoding time and unacceptable image reconstruction quality remain the primary obstacles in practical application. The purpose of this study is to improve the coding quality from the perspective of grey level transform and feature extraction. In this study, a novel orthogonal sparse fractal coding algorithm based on image texture feature is proposed. The authors define a normalised version as the new grey description feature of the image block so that two improved methods are scientifically combined in theory and algorithm. First, orthogonal sparse grey level transform based on sparse decomposition improves image reconstruction quality and decoding speed. Then, the similarity measure matrix, which stores the variance feature between range blocks and domain blocks, is used to reduce redundancies and encoding time. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm in this study can obtain better image reconstruction quality and speed up encoding time significantly as compared to the conventional fractal coding schemes. This paper uses partial differential equation image processing techniques to establish image texture analysis models based on nonlinear anisotropic diffusion equations for image denoising, image segmentation, and image decomposition. This paper proposes a class of denoising models based on the hybrid anisotropic diffusion equation from the characteristics of different noise types. The model exhibits anisotropic diffusion near the image boundary, which can protect the boundary well, and isotropic diffusion inside the image; so, it can remove the noise effectively. We use the immovable point theory to prove the uniqueness of the model solution and further discuss other properties such as asymptotics of the solution. We propose a class of image texture analysis algorithms based on anisotropic diffusion equations and discrete gray level sets. First, a class of nonconvex generalized functions is proposed to remove the noise from the original image to obtain a smooth image while sharpening the edges. Then, an energy generalization function based on the gray level set is proposed, and the existence of the global minimum of this energy generalization function is discussed. Finally, an equivalent form of this energy generalization is given in the discrete case, and an image texture analysis algorithm is designed based on the equivalent form. The algorithm is improved by initial position optimization, dynamic adjustment of parameters, and adaptive selection of thresholds so that the ants can search along the real edges. Experiments show that the improved algorithm for image edge detection can obtain more complete edges and better detection results. The energy generalization function is calculated directly on the discrete gray level set instead of solving the corresponding partial differential equation, which can avoid the selection of the initial level set and the reinitialization of the level set, thus greatly improving the segmentation efficiency. Complexity measures, defined as measures of irregularity over time scales, are the subject of a growing number of studies as the information they reveal can find utility in a large field of applications. One of the most popular complexity measures is the multiscale entropy. Nevertheless, more and more algorithms dedicated to complexity analyses are proposed to improve the existing ones. However, such measures are available only for one-dimensional time series. For bidimensional data (images), no equivalent algorithm has been proposed to analyze irregularity over spatial scales. We herein introduce a new framework that extends the one-dimensional multiscale entropy (MSE 1D ) to the bidimensional case (MSE 2D ). Moreover, a variant of MSE 2D is also ModMSE 2D ). The two new algorithms are tested as new texture analysis frameworks. They are applied to simulated and real data. Our results show that, compared with other existing texture analysis algorithms, MSE 2D and ModMSE 2D are suitable and powerful tools for image analysis and classification according to their texture patterns. While MSE 2D is computationally faster than ModMSE 2D , ModMSE 2D is more robust to small image sizes. We propose a texture insensitive, region based image saliency detection algorithm, having excellent detection and localization properties, to obtain salient objects. We use a total variation based regularizer to suppress textures from the image and to make the method invariant to textural variations in the scene. This leads to an image that contains piecewise constant gray valued regions. This texture-free image is sparsely segmented into a small number of regions using the expectation maximization algorithm assuming a Gaussian mixture model. We compute three different saliency measures for every region using its intensity and spatial features. We adopt a relevance feedback mechanism to obtain weights for combining the three saliency measures and obtain the final saliency map. Next we input the thresholded saliency map to an image matting technique and extract the salient objects from the image with exact boundaries. A new algorithm based on wavelet packet transform and singular value decomposition is proposed in this paper for classification of textures in the presence of noise. Lower singular values are affected more by noise than higher singular values, and hence only higher singular values are used to classify textures in the presence of noise. The probability density function of the selected singular values is then modeled as an exponential distribution, and the model parameter for the distribution is estimated using the maximum likelihood estimation technique. The model parameter, one for each subband is used as features for the classification. The classification is carried out using Weighted Probabilistic Neural Networks (WPNN). Compared to conventional probabilistic neural networks, WPNN includes weighting factors between pattern layer and summation layer of the conventional PNN. Performance of the algorithm is compared with `wavelet domain generalized Gaussian density based model' in terms of signal to noise ratio and classification rate. To evaluate the effect of specific nursing intervention in children with mycoplasma pneumonia (MP), a feature extraction algorithm based on gray level co-occurrence matrix (GLCM) was proposed and combined with computed tomography (CT) image texture features. Then, 98 children with MP were rolled into the observation group with 49 cases (specific nursing) and the control group with 49 cases (routine nursing). CT images based on feature extraction algorithm of optimized GLCM were used to examine the children before and after nursing intervention, and the recovery of the two groups of children was discussed. The results showed that the proportion of lung texture increase, rope shadow, ground glass shadow, atelectasis, and pleural effusion in the observation group (24.11%, 3.86%, 8.53%, 15.03%, and 3.74%) was significantly lower than that in the control group (28.53%, 10.23%, 13.34%, 21.15%, and 8.13%) after nursing (P < 0.05). There were no significant differences in the proportion of small patchy shadows, large patchy consolidation shadows, and bronchiectasis between the observation group and the control group (P > 0.05). In the course of nursing intervention, in the observation group, the disappearance time of cough, normal temperature, disappearance time of lung rales, and absorption time of lung shadow (2.15 ± 0.86 days, 4.81 ± 1.14 days, 3.64 ± 0.55 days, and 5.96 ± 0.62 days) were significantly shorter than those in the control group (2.87 ± 0.95 days, 3.95 ± 1.06 days, 4.51 ± 1.02 days, and 8.14 ± 1.35 days) (P < 0.05). After nursing intervention, the proportion of satisfaction and total satisfaction in the experimental group (67.08% and 28.66%) was significantly higher than that in the control group (40.21% and 47.39%), while the proportion of dissatisfaction (4.26%) was significantly lower than that in the control group (12.4%) (P < 0.05). To sum up, specific nursing intervention was more beneficial to improve the progress of characterization recovery and the overall recovery effect of children with MP relative to conventional nursing. We propose an innovative and efficient approach to improve K-view-template (K-view-T) and K-view-datagram (K-view-D) algorithms for image texture classification. The proposed approach, called the weighted K-view-voting algorithm (K-view-V), uses a novel voting method for texture classification and an accelerating method based on the efficient summed square image (SSI) scheme as well as fast Fourier transform (FFT) to enable overall faster processing. Decision making, which assigns a pixel to a texture class, occurs by using our weighted voting method among the "promising" members in the neighborhood of a classified pixel. In other words, this neighborhood consists of all the views, and each view has a classified pixel in its territory. Experimental results on benchmark images, which are randomly taken from Brodatz Gallery and natural and medical images, show that this new classification algorithm gives higher classification accuracy than existing K-view algorithms. In particular, it improves the accurate classification of pixels near the texture boundary. In addition, the proposed acceleration method improves the processing speed of K-view-V as it requires much less computation time than other K-view algorithms. In this paper, we propose a new algorithm for remotely sensed image texture classification and segmentation. We observe that the traditional method least square error (LSE) is unstable in practical applications. This motivates us to develop a more stable method. We have proposed the regularization technique to suppress the instability of LSE in previous research. Our contribution in this paper is that we propose a new stable method, which is based on the total variation (TV) for reducing instability in texture analysis, and apply it to remotely sensed image texture classification and segmentation. Purpose: Nowadays, most methods of illusion garment evaluation are based on the subjective evaluation of experienced practitioners, which consumes time and the results are too subjective to be accurate enough. It is necessary to explore a method that can quantify professional experience into objective indicators to evaluate the sensory comfort of the optical illusion skirt quickly and accurately. The purpose of this paper is to propose a method to objectively evaluate the sensory comfort of optical illusion skirt patterns by combining texture feature extraction and prediction model construction. Design/methodology/approach: Firstly, 10 optical illusion sample skirts are produced, and 10 experimental images are collected for each sample skirt. Then a Likert five-level evaluation scale is designed to obtain the sensory comfort level of each skirt through the questionnaire survey. Synchronously, the coarseness, contrast, directionality, line-likeness, regularity and roughness of the sample image are calculated based on Tamura texture feature algorithm, and the mean, contrast and entropy are extracted of the image transformed by Gabor wavelet. Both are set as objective parameters. Two final indicators T1 and T2 are refined from the objective parameters previously obtained to construct the predictive model of the subjective comfort of the visual illusion skirt. The linear regression model and the MLP neural network model are constructed. Findings: Results show that the accuracy of the linear regression model is 92%, and prediction accuracy of the MLP neural network model is 97.9%. It is feasible to use Tamura texture features, Gabor wavelet transform and MLP neural network methods to objectively predict the sensory comfort of visual illusion skirt images. Originality/value: Compared with the existing uncertain and non-reproducible subjective evaluation of optical illusion clothing based on experienced experts. The main advantage of the authors' method is that this method can objectively obtain evaluation parameters, quickly and accurately obtain evaluation grades without repeated evaluation by experienced experts. We present an algorithm for risk prediction of road surface grip where skidding and sliding occur as main road surface problems. Prediction is done by defining a fine texture classification of the properties of road aggregate. In an experimental setup, data acquisition is performed with a supervised mobile vehicle scanning system, using a vehicle equipped with a camera and temperature sensor during movement along an arterial road. Image processing is performed by testing four texture feature extraction methods: Gabor filters, wavelet transform, gray level co-occurence matrix, and edge histogram descriptor, among which the Gabor transform shows the best results. The extraction of texture feature vectors follows by statistical algorithms for measuring feature vector similarity and reference vector selection, leading to image texture classification. The algorithm itself is upgraded by incorporating simultaneous surface temperature measurements in order to create and validate the final fine surface texture classification. The roads are classified and segmented into high-, medium-, and low-risk roads according to skid danger, enabling the creation of a map of high-risk zones. We validate our risk prediction algorithm by referring to crash rate data from the Road Traffic Safety Agency of Serbia database. Image processing has played a relevant role in various industries, where the main challenge is to extract specific features from images. Specifically, texture characterizes the phenomenon of the occurrence of a pattern along the spatial distribution, taking into account the intensities of the pixels for which it has been applied in classification and segmentation tasks. Therefore, several feature extraction methods have been proposed in recent decades, but few of them rely on entropy, which is a measure of uncertainty. Moreover, entropy algorithms have been little explored in bidimensional data. Nevertheless, there is a growing interest in developing algorithms to solve current limits, since Shannon Entropy does not consider spatial information, and SampEn2D generates unreliable values in small sizes. We introduce a proposed algorithm, EspEn (Espinosa Entropy), to measure the irregularity present in two-dimensional data, where the calculation requires setting the parameters as follows: m (length of square window), r (tolerance threshold), and ρ (percentage of similarity). Three experiments were performed; the first two were on simulated images contaminated with different noise levels. The last experiment was with grayscale images from the Normalized Brodatz Texture database (NBT). First, we compared the performance of EspEn against the entropy of Shannon and SampEn2D. Second, we evaluated the dependence of EspEn on variations of the values of the parameters m, r, and ρ. Third, we evaluated the EspEn algorithm on NBT images. The results revealed that EspEn could discriminate images with different size and degrees of noise. Finally, EspEn provides an alternative algorithm to quantify the irregularity in 2D data; the recommended parameters for better performance are m = 3, r = 20, and ρ = 0.7. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

A rapid and nondestructive machine vision sensor was developed for predicting the vibrated bulk density (VBD) of petroleum coke particles based on image texture analysis. It could be used for making corrective adjustments to a paste plant operation to reduce green anode variability (e.g., changes in binder demand). Wavelet texture analysis (WTA) and gray level co-occurrence matrix (GLCM) algorithms were used jointly for extracting the surface textural features of coke aggregates from images. These were correlated with the VBD using partial least-squares (PLS) regression. Coke samples of several sizes and from different sources were used to test the sensor. Variations in the coke surface texture introduced by coke size and source allowed for making good predictions of the VBD of individual coke samples and mixtures of them (blends involving two sources and different sizes). This paper uses a fuzzy set scheme to present an adaptive fractional differential algorithm for image edge enhancement and texture preservation. In the proposed algorithm, an image's membership function and area feature are used to calculate the fuzzy set of images. The function of adaptive fractional differential order (FAFDO) can be constructed by making the linear transformation of the fuzzy set. Then, the fuzzy adaptive fractional differential mask (FAFDM) is obtained by substituting the FAFDO into the fractional differential mask. Finally, the image edge and texture are enhanced and preserved by applying airspace filtering of the FAFDM convolution. The experimental results show that, compared to fractional differential or fuzzy set‐based image enhancement algorithms, the proposed algorithm can adaptively enhance the image edge and preserve the image texture by analysing the fuzziness of the image itself. We present a new efficient approach for characterizing image texture based on a recently published discrete, orthonormal space-frequency transform known as the DOST. We develop a frequency-domain implementation of the DOST in two dimensions for the case of dyadic frequency sampling. Then, we describe a rapid and efficient approach to obtain local spatial frequency information for an image and show that this information can be used to characterize the horizontal and vertical frequency patterns in synthetic images. Finally, we demonstrate that DOST components can be combined to obtain a rotationally invariant set of texture features that can accurately classify a series of texture patterns. The DOST provides the computational efficiency and multi-scale information of wavelet transforms, while providing texture features in terms of Fourier frequencies. A local region in an image can be defined using centre pixel and its differences with neighboring pixels. In order to characterize different texture structure in a discriminating manner, this paper proposes twoframeworks of Noise Invariant Structure Pattern (NISP) which utilizes both the centre pixel and local and global information of an image. To replace the centre pixel, a threshold computed from adding centre pixel and intensity averages is used in the LBP code computation. For adding the magnitude information, binary patterns generated by taking thresholds involving centre pixel and local and global average contrast are adopted. Also for adding the information of individual neighborhood of a given pixel, the binary patterns generated from global thresholding of local averages are used. Based on the use of local and global information, this paper suggests two noise invariant models that are CNLP and CNGP (i.e. Completed Noise-invariant Local-structure Pattern and Global-structure Pattern). The proposed NISPs are also insensitive to noise as the centre pixel is not directly used as threshold. The proposed texture descriptors are tested on some of the representative texture databases like Outex, Curet, UIUC, Brodatz and XU -HR. Image denoising, as an essential component of image pre-processing, effectively reduces noise interference to enhance image quality, a factor of considerable research importance. Traditional denoising methods often lead to the blurring of image details and a lack of realism at the image edges. To deal with these issues, we propose an image denoising algorithm named Residual structure and Cooperative Attention mechanism based on Generative Adversarial Networks (RCA-GAN). This algorithm proficiently reduces noise while focusing on preserving image texture details. To maximize feature extraction, this model first employs residual learning within a portion of the generator's backbone, conducting extensive multi-dimensional feature extraction to preserve a greater amount of image details. Secondly, it introduces a simple yet efficient cooperative attention module to enhance the representation capacity of edge and texture features, further enhancing the preservation of intricate image details. Finally, this paper constructs a novel loss function—the Multimodal Loss Function—for the network training process. The experimental results were evaluated using Peak Signal-to-Noise Ratio (PSNR) and Structural Similarity (SSIM) as evaluation metrics. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed RCA-GAN image denoising algorithm has increased the average PSNR from 24.71 dB to 33.76 dB, achieving a 36.6% improvement. Additionally, the average SSIM value has risen from 0.8451 to 0.9503, indicating a 12.4% enhancement. Simple Summary: Pediatric osteosarcoma is one of the most aggressive cancers, and predictions of metastasis and chemotherapy response have a significant impact on pediatric patient survival. Radiogenomics, as methods of analyzing gene expression or image texture features, have previously been used for the diagnosis of chemotherapy responses and metastasis and can reveal the current state of cancer. In this study, we aimed to generate a predictive model using gene expression and 18F-FDG PET/CT image texture features in pediatric osteosarcoma in relation to metastasis and chemotherapy response. A predictive model using radiogenomics technology that incorporates both imaging features and gene expression can accurately predict metastasis and chemotherapy responses to improve patient outcomes. Chemotherapy response and metastasis prediction play important roles in the treatment of pediatric osteosarcoma, which is prone to metastasis and has a high mortality rate. This study aimed to estimate the prediction model using gene expression and image texture features. 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography/computed tomography (18F-FDG PET/CT) images of 52 pediatric osteosarcoma patients were used to estimate the machine learning algorithm. An appropriate algorithm was selected by estimating the machine learning accuracy. 18F-FDG PET/CT images of 21 patients were selected for prediction model development based on simultaneous KI67 and EZRIN expression. The prediction model for chemotherapy response and metastasis was estimated using area under the curve (AUC) maximum image texture features (AUC_max) and gene expression. The machine learning algorithm with the highest test accuracy in chemotherapy response and metastasis was selected using the random forest algorithm. The chemotherapy response and metastasis test accuracy with image texture features was 0.83 and 0.76, respectively. The highest test accuracy and AUC of chemotherapy response with AUC_max, KI67, and EZRIN were estimated to be 0.85 and 0.89, respectively. The highest test accuracy and AUC of metastasis with AUC_max, KI67, and EZRIN were estimated to be 0.85 and 0.8, respectively. To address the problem of image texture feature extraction, a direction measure statistic that is based on the directionality of image texture is constructed, and a new method of texture feature extraction, which is based on the direction measure and a gray level co-occurrence matrix (GLCM) fusion algorithm, is proposed in this paper. This method applies the GLCM to extract the texture feature value of an image and integrates the weight factor that is introduced by the direction measure to obtain the final texture feature of an image. A set of classification experiments for the high-resolution remote sensing images were performed by using support vector machine (SVM) classifier with the direction measure and gray level co-occurrence matrix fusion algorithm. Both qualitative and quantitative approaches were applied to assess the classification results. The experimental results demonstrated that texture feature extraction based on the fusion algorithm achieved a better image recognition, and the accuracy of classification based on this method has been significantly improved. In the naval battle, we must find out to launch weapon attack first, which needs the accuracy of automatic recognition of underwater target. Non-linear properties of iterative reconstruction (IR) algorithms can alter image texture. We evaluated the effect of a model-based IR algorithm (advanced modelled iterative reconstruction; ADMIRE) and dose on computed tomography thorax image quality. Dual-source scanner data were acquired at 20, 45 and 65 reference mAs in 20 patients. Images reconstructed with filtered back projection (FBP) and ADMIRE Strengths 3–5 were assessed independently by six radiologists and analysed using an ordinal logistic regression model. For all image criteria studied, the effects of tube load 20 mAs and all ADMIRE strengths were significant (p  < 0.001) when compared to reference categories 65 mAs and FBP. Increase in tube load from 45 to 65 mAs showed image quality improvement in three of six criteria. Replacing FBP with ADMIRE significantly improves perceived image quality for all criteria studied, potentially permitting a dose reduction of almost 70% without loss in image quality. A panoramic image texture detail enhancement method based on the Retinex algorithm is proposed to work on the nature of panoramic images. Firstly, the panoramic image is collected, then the panoramic image is preprocessed through brightness enhancement, the brightness of the preprocessed panoramic image is normalized, and the panoramic image is optimized and increased by the improved Retinex algorithm. Finally, the simulation test of the panoramic image was carried out. The results show that the improved Retinex algorithm works on the sign to-commotion proportion of the panoramic image. We investigated the performances of two computed tomography (CT) systems produced by the same manufacturers (Somatom Flash and Edge Siemens) with different detector technologies (Ultrafast Ceramic and Stellar) and different generation of iterative reconstruction (IR) algorithms (SAFIRE and ADMIRE). A homemade phantom was scanned and the images were reconstructed with filtered back-projection (FBP) and IR algorithms. In terms of image quality, the performances of the systems were checked using the low-contrast detectability, evaluated by a Channelized Hotelling Observer (CHO), and the noise power spectrum (NPS). The analysis with CHO showed the best performance of Edge respect to Flash system for both FBP and IR algorithms. This better behavior, which reaches 20%, has been ascribed to the Stellar detector. From the NPS analysis, the noise reduction due to Stellar detector was 57%, moreover ADMIRE algorithm preserves a more traditional CT image texture appearance versus SAFIRE due to a lower NPS peak shift. Aiming at the poor anti-jamming effect of traditional fuzzy c-means clustering image segmentation method, a fuzzy c-means clustering image segmentation algorithm based on Hidden Markov model is proposed. Hidden Markov model is used to extract the model state, observation state, initial probability, transition probability and visible symbol probability parameters of fuzzy c-means clustering image. According to these parameters, the image texture is measured, and the image mean is removed to eliminate the influence of brightness. Then the image features are extracted by combining the standard deviation. Through the color space and convert it from RGB model to his model. On the basis of removing the image noise, the image is smoothed to achieve image segmentation. Reversible data hiding (RDH) technology is an effective means to ensure the secrecy of information transmission. In particular, the interpolation-based RDH algorithm is widely used due to its advantages of large embedding capacity, good visualization, and low computational cost. However, existing interpolation-based RDH algorithms have a common problem that the algorithm performance is greatly affected by the interpolation accuracy and image texture. This paper proposed a novel difference division interpolation (DDI) method that exploits the difference between the original pixels and predicted pixels to construct the cover image (CI) so that the pixel error is within a fixed range and independent of the image texture. Meanwhile, to avoid information aggregation, an adaptive chunking strategy (ACS) is designed to replace the traditional fixed chunking mode. The chunking mode and the number of embeddable bits for every non-reference pixel can be adaptively selected according to the embedding capacity, which enhances the visual quality of images. In addition, an out-of-bounds adjustment (OA) method is introduced to minimize the distortion of the steganographic image (SI) and solve the pixel underflow and overflow. Traditional algorithms can achieve good results when registering homologous images, but it cannot reach satisfying results for registration between synthetic aperture radar (SAR) and optical images. The difficulty is that the image texture information and structures of different modalities is very different which leads to poor registration results. To solve this problem, we present a robust matching framework for registration between SAR and optical images. First, a novel deep learning network is utilized to generate high quality pseudo-optical images from SAR images. Next, feature points are detected and extracted using the multi-scale Harris algorithm. Then the feature points are constructed through the gradient position orientation histogram method. Finally, the actual position of the feature points will be reconstructed through a feedback mechanism for matching. Purpose: In contrast-enhanced abdominopelvic CT (CE-APCT) for oncologic follow-up, ultrahigh-resolution CT (UHRCT) may improve depiction of fine lesions and low-dose scans are desirable for minimizing the potential adverse effects by ionizing radiation. We compared image quality and radiologists' acceptance of model-based iterative (MBIR) and deep learning (DLR) reconstructions of low-dose CE-APCT by UHRCT. Methods: Using our high-resolution (matrix size: 1024) and low-dose (tube voltage 100 kV; noise index: 20–40 HU) protocol, we scanned phantoms to compare the modulation transfer function and noise power spectrum between MBIR and DLR and assessed findings in 36 consecutive patients who underwent CE-APCT (noise index: 35 HU; mean CTDIvol: 4.2 ± 1.6 mGy) by UHRCT. We used paired t-test to compare objective noise and contrast-to-noise ratio (CNR) and Wilcoxon signed-rank test to compare radiologists' subjective acceptance regarding noise, image texture and appearance, and diagnostic confidence between MBIR and DLR using our routine protocol (matrix size: 512; tube voltage: 120 kV; noise index: 15 HU) for reference. Results: Phantom studies demonstrated higher spatial resolution and lower low-frequency noise by DLR than MBIR at equal doses. Clinical studies indicated significantly worse objective noise, CNR, and subjective noise by DLR than MBIR, but other subjective characteristics were better (P < 0.001 for all). Compared with the routine protocol, subjective noise was similar or better by DLR, and other subjective characteristics were similar or worse by MBIR. To improve the sensory experience that art design works bring to the audience, the combination of vision and other sensory experiences can maximize the advantages of multiple information dissemination methods and combine the omnidirectional visual sensor with the sensory experience of art design images. In the method part, this article introduces the omnidirectional vision sensor, art design image, and sensory experience modes and content and introduces the hyperbolic concave mirror theory and the Micusik perspective projection imaging model. In the experimental part, the experimental environment, experimental objects, and experimental procedures of this article are introduced. In the analysis part, this article analyzes the six aspects of image database dependency test, performance, comparison of different distortion types, false detection rate and missing detection rate, algorithm time-consuming comparison, sensory experience analysis, and feature point screening. Among the feelings of the art design image, for the first image, 87.21% of the audience's feelings are happy, indicating that the main idea of this image can bring joy to people. This paper developed a progressive hierarchical algorithm combining image texture complexity and wavelet coefficient characteristics to meet the requirements of remote desktop environment. Firstly, the algorithm allocated bits for each image block according to texture complexity in order to improve the utilization of target bit budget. Then, it optimized the hierarchical structure of high-frequency detail components in the progressive hierarchical algorithm by analyzing the order of the importance of different subbands features in the image block. And it also designed a progressive hierarchical algorithm that added subbands transmission layer by layer based on the wavelet coefficient characteristics. Finally, according to the allocated bits and the selected layering method, the paper implemented a codec system for progressive transmission of each image block. Simulation experiments show that the proposed progressive transmission algorithm can reconstruct better images in different image transmission environments, and is more in line with the visual perception characteristics of the human eye. In order to solve the problems of low contrast, global darkness and noise amplification in some hyperspectral and remote-sensing images, a new image fuzzy enhancement method based on contourlet transform (CT) domain is proposed. The algorithm includes the following four steps. Firstly, the cyclic translation method is used to suppress the pseudo-Gibbs phenomenon caused by the lack of translation invariance of the CT. Secondly, a nonlinear gain function is designed to enhance and suppress the high-frequency coefficients adaptively. Meanwhile, the multi-scale Retinex with mixed gray function is used to process the low-frequency sub-band coefficients. Then, the inverse translation and linear averaging and the inverse CT are performed on the enhanced coefficients, and finally the improved fuzzy contrast is used to enhance the texture and edge of the image globally. The experimental results show that the proposed method can make the image texture details more prominent, and enhance the overall visual effect of the images. Shadow removal is a challenging problem due to its sensitivity to lighting and material conditions. In this paper, we propose a shading-aware shadow processing algorithm, which can automatically detect and remove complex shadows from a single color image. Our framework consists of two key steps. We firstly conduct a shadow-preserving filter upon the image which will effectively remove the image texture while preserving the shadow and shading information. Shadow regions are estimated by establishing a confidence map from the filtered image incorporating depth cue. We then develop a shading-aware optimization framework to remove shadows and recover shading in these regions. The extensive experimental results show that the proposed algorithm produces visually compelling results in a series of challenging images and it can handle complex shadows in both indoor and outdoor scenes. Feature extraction is the basis of texture analysis. How to obtain texture features with small feature dimension, simple calculation and comprehensive representation of images is a hot spot and a difficult point in feature extraction. The traditional image texture feature extraction method is to process the image in the spatial domain. However, due to its high computational complexity, its practical application is restricted. Based on this, this study studies the extraction method of texture features, and deeply analyzes the principle of non-subsampled Contourlet transform. Moreover, this study uses NSCT to transform the image from the spatial domain to the frequency domain and extracts the texture features of the decomposed low frequency sub-band, intermediate frequency sub-band and high frequency sub-band image respectively. In addition, this study selects the appropriate parameters to establish the support vector machine model and applies the extracted texture features into the support vector machine for recognition and applies it to the sports feature recognition. Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) has become a research hotspot in the field of robots in recent years. However, most visual SLAM systems are based on static assumptions which ignored motion effects. If image sequences are not rich in texture information or the camera rotates at a large angle, SLAM system will fail to locate and map. To solve these problems, this paper proposes an improved ORB-SLAM2 algorithm based on information entropy and sharpening processing. The information entropy corresponding to the segmented image block is calculated, and the entropy threshold is determined by the adaptive algorithm of image entropy threshold, and then the image block which is smaller than the information entropy threshold is sharpened. The experimental results show that compared with the ORB-SLAM2 system, the relative trajectory error decreases by 36.1% and the absolute trajectory error decreases by 45.1% compared with ORB-SLAM2. Although these indicators are greatly improved, the processing time is not greatly increased. As an important part of metal processing, welding is widely used in industrial manufacturing activities, and its application scenarios are very extensive. Due to technical limitations, the welding process always unavoidably leaves weld defects. Weld defects are extremely hazardous, and the work used must be guaranteed to be defect-free, regardless of the field. However, manual weld inspection has subjective factors such as inefficiency and easy missed detection, and although some automatic weld inspection methods have appeared, these traditional methods still do not meet actual demand in terms of detection time and detection accuracy. Therefore, there is a need for a higher quality weld image automatic detection method to replace the manual method and the traditional automatic detection method. In view of the above, this paper proposes a weld seam image recognition algorithm based on deep learning. The Adam adaptive moment estimation algorithm is chosen as the backpropagation optimization algorithm to accelerate the training of convolutional neural networks and design an independent adaptive learning rate. Through the simulation of the collected 4500 tube images, the adaptive threshold-based method is used for weld seam extraction. The algorithm proposed in this paper is compared with the weld seam recognition method based on image texture feature value distribution (ITFVD) and the SUSAN-based weld defect target detection method. The results show that the proposed method can identify weld defects in a short time on different sizes of weld images, and can further detect the type of weld defects. In addition, the method in this paper is better than the other two methods in the false detection rate, recall rate and overall recognition accuracy, which shows that the experimental results have achieved the expected results. Here, we propose a CNN-based infrared image enhancement method to transform pseudo-realistic regions of simulation-based infrared images into real infrared texture. The proposed algorithm consists of the following three steps. First, target infrared features based on a real infrared image are extracted through pretrained VGG-19 networks. Next, by implementing a neural style-transfer algorithm to a simulated infrared image, fractal nature features from the real infrared image are progressively applied to the image. Therefore, the fractal characteristics of the simulated image are improved. Finally, based on the results of fractal analysis, peak signal-to-noise (PSNR), structural similarity index measure (SSIM), and natural image quality evaluator (NIQE) texture evaluations are performed to know how the simulated infrared image is properly transformed as it contains the real infrared fractal features. We verified the proposed methodology using a simulation with three different simulation conditions with a real mid-wave infrared (MWIR) image. As a result, the enhanced simulated infrared images based on the proposed algorithm have better NIQE and SSIM score values in both brightness and fractal characteristics, indicating the closest similarity to the given actual infrared image. To ensure the timely detection of safety hazards in transmission lines and to enhance accurately the detection of insulator defects in complicated environments, this study proposes a 3D attention-focused pure convolutional target detection algorithm (CMYOLOv7) based on you only look once v7 (YOLOv7) for defect detection on insulators in complicated environments. Firstly, to address the incapacity of focusing on the target in the backbone feature extraction networks, this study proposes a focused pure convolutional feature extraction module (ConvSimCB) to enhance the extraction and focus capability on insulator defect features. Secondly, to solve the problem of loss of key detail feature information caused by maximum pooling in spatial pyramid pooling module (SPPCSPC), this study proposes a mixed spatial pyramid pooling module (MIXPCSPC) to retain abundant image texture detail information and increase accuracy in detection of tiny insulator defects. Finally, a lightweight generic upsampling operator (CARAFE) is introduced to enhance the feature map resolution to address image distortion caused by the Nearest Neighbor Method of upsampling. Considering the defect detection issues in electroluminescence (EL) of photovoltaic (PV) cell systems, lots of factors result in performance degradation, including defect diversity, data imbalance, scale difference, etc. Focal-EIoU loss, an effective defect detection solution for EL, is proposed based on the improved YOLOv5. Firstly, by analyzing the detection background and scale characteristics of EL defects, a binary classification is carried out in the system. Subsequently, a cascade detection network based on YOLOv5 is designed to further extract features from the binary-classified defects. The defect localization and classification are achieved in this way. To address the problem of imbalanced defect samples, a loss function is designed based on EIoU and Focal-F1 Loss. Experimental results are illustrated to show the effectiveness. Compared with the existing CNN-based deep learning approaches, the proposed focal loss calculation-based method can effectively improve the performance of handling sample imbalance. Dehazing plays a vital role in enhancing the quality of outdoor images for computer-based applications. While dehazing algorithms significantly improve outdoor image quality for computer vision tasks, their effectiveness hinges on two crucial factors: 1. Speed of dehazing operations 2. Platform-agnostic nature of the chosen algorithm. This study introduces a novel Dark Channel Prior-Low Frequency Domain (DCP-LFD) method designed to effectively and efficiently eliminate haze from single hazy images. The method employs a hybrid strategy, combining DCP for haze reduction in the low-frequency domain and Soft-thresholding for enhancing high-frequency coefficients. This dual-pronged approach enables improvement of image quality in low and high-frequency domains, contributing to better dehazing outcomes taking less computation time. The proposed method's effectiveness is accessed using metrics like PSNR and SSIM, comparing its performance against state-of-the-art dehazing methods across five benchmark datasets: SOTS, RTTS and HSTS subsets from RESIDE, HazeRD, and Middlebury datasets. Due to the complex underwater environment and the selective absorption and scattering effect of water on light waves, underwater images often suffer from issues such as low contrast, color distortion, and blurred details. This paper presents a stable and effective algorithm for enhancing underwater images to address these challenges. Firstly, an improved color correction algorithm based on the gray world and minimum information loss is employed to remove the blue-green bias present in the images. Secondly, a contrast enhancement algorithm is based on the guided filter and wavelet decomposition to make the texture details of the image clearer. To analyze the security of encryption, an effectual encryption scheme based on colored images utilizing the hybrid pseudo-random binary sequence (HPRBS) and substitution boxes, known as S-boxes, is proposed. The presented work aims to design S-boxes using pseudo-random binary numbers acquired by Linear Feedback Shift Registers (LFSRs) in combination with a modified quadratic chaotic map. Firstly, cryptographically robust S-boxes are constructed by using binary pseudo-random number sequences, and then the cryptographic properties of the presented S-boxes are tested. The suggested S-boxes showed good results. Secondly, an RGB image encryption algorithm utilizing sequences generated by modified quadratic chaotic maps and S-boxes is offered. The new color image encryption techniques comprise two steps, including a permutation and a substitution step. The key association with the content of the image is also addressed. This strategy can result in a "one-time pad" effect and make the algorithm resistant to chosen-plaintext attack (CPA). The proposed scheme has been confirmed to be more valuable than most of the existing schemes. S-boxes are analyzed by the nonlinearity test, bit independence criterion (BIC), linear and differential approximation probabilities (LPs; DPs), and Strict-Avalanche Criterion (SAC) tests. A comparison with different S-boxes presented in the literature is also carried out. The comparison shows encouraging results about the quality of the proposed box. From security and experimental outcomes, the effectiveness of the presented color image encryption technique is verified. Steganography is a technique for hiding secret messages while sending and receiving communications through a cover item. From ancient times to the present, the security of secret or vital information has always been a significant problem. The development of secure communication methods that keep recipient-only data transmissions secret has always been an area of interest. Therefore, several approaches, including steganography, have been developed by researchers over time to enable safe data transit. In this review, we have discussed image steganography based on Discrete Cosine Transform (DCT) algorithm, etc. We have also discussed image steganography based on multiple hashing algorithms like the Rivest–Shamir–Adleman (RSA) method, the Blowfish technique, and the hash-least significant bit (LSB) approach. In this review, a novel method of hiding information in images has been developed with minimal variance in image bits, making our method secure and effective. A cryptography mechanism was also used in this strategy. Before encoding the data and embedding it into a carry image, this review verifies that it has been encrypted. Usually, embedded text in photos conveys crucial signals about the content. This review employs hash table encryption on the message before hiding it within the picture to provide a more secure method of data transport. If the message is ever intercepted by a third party, there are several ways to stop this operation. Texture analysis is an important topic in Ultrasound (US) image analysis for structure segmentation and tissue classification. In this work a novel approach for US image texture feature extraction is presented. It is mainly based on parametrical modelling of a signal version of the US image in order to process it as data resulting from a dynamical process. Because of the predictive characteristics of such a model representation, good estimations of texture features can be obtained with less data than generally used methods require, allowing higher robustness to low Signal-to-Noise ratio and a more localized US image analysis. The usability of the proposed approach was demonstrated by extracting texture features for segmenting the thyroid in US images. The obtained results showed that features corresponding to energy ratios between different modelled texture frequency bands allowed to clearly distinguish between thyroid and non-thyroid texture. A simple k-means clustering algorithm has been used for separating US image patches as belonging to thyroid or not. It is of great interest in spectral-spatial features classification for hyperspectral images (HSI) with high spatial resolution. This paper presents a novel Spectral-spatial classification method for improving hyperspectral image classification accuracy. Specifically, a new texture feature extraction algorithm exploits spatial texture feature from spectrum is proposed. It employs local binary patterns (LBPs) in order to extract the image texture feature with respect to spectrum information diversity (SID) to measure the differences of spectrum information. The classifier adopted in this work is support vector machine (SVM) because of its outstanding classification performances. In this paper, two real hyperspectral image datasets are used for testing the performance of the proposed method. Our experimental results from real hyperspectral images indicate that the proposed framework can enhance the classification accuracy compare to traditional alternatives. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
