Recent advancements in generation models have showcased remarkable capabilities in generating fantastic content. However, most of them are trained on proprietary high-quality data, and some models withhold their parameters and only provide accessible application programming interfaces (APIs), limiting their benefits for downstream tasks. To explore the feasibility of training a text-to-image generation model comparable to advanced models using publicly available resources, we introduce EvolveDirector. This framework interacts with advanced models through their public APIs to obtain text-image data pairs to train a base model. Our experiments with extensive data indicate that the model trained on generated data of the advanced model can approximate its generation capability. However, it requires large-scale samples of 10 million or more. This incurs significant expenses in time, computational resources, and especially the costs associated with calling fee-based APIs. To address this problem, we leverage pre-trained large vision-language models (VLMs) to guide the evolution of the base model. VLM continuously evaluates the base model during training and dynamically updates and refines the training dataset by the discrimination, expansion, deletion, and mutation operations. Experimental results show that this paradigm significantly reduces the required data volume. Furthermore, when approaching multiple advanced models, EvolveDirector can select the best samples generated by them to learn powerful and balanced abilities. This paper studies the boundary value problem on the steady compressible Navier-Stokes-Fourier system in a channel domain $(0,1)\times\mathbb{T}^2$ with a class of generalized slip boundary conditions that were systematically derived from the Boltzmann equation by Coron \cite{Coron-JSP-1989} and later by Aoki et al \cite{Aoki-Baranger-Hattori-Kosuge-Martalo-Mathiaud-Mieussens-JSP-2017}. We establish the existence and uniqueness of strong solutions in $(L_{0}^{2}\cap H^{2}(\Omega))\times V^{3}(\Omega)\times H^{3}(\Omega)$ provided that the wall temperature is near a positive constant. The proof relies on the construction of a new variational formulation for the corresponding linearized problem and employs a fixed point argument. Distinct from the $\text{SU}(2)$ case, the fermionic systems with $\text{SU}(N)$ symmetry are expected to exhibit novel physics, such as exotic singlet formation. Using the density matrix renormalization group technique, we obtain the ground state phase diagram of the $\text{SU}(3)$ $t$-$J$ chain for density $n<1$. The ground state phase diagram includes the Luttinger liquid, the extended Luther-Emery liquid characterized by a spin gap, and the phase separation state. We quantitatively assess the characteristics of the three phases by measuring spin gap, compressibility, various correlation functions and structure factors. We further study the extended Luther-Emery liquid phase and discover molecular superfluid quasi-long-range order. The mechanism of the molecular superfluid is the combination of three $\text{SU}(3)$ fermions on sites that are not completely connected. This paper introduces ConStyle v2, a strong plug-and-play prompter designed to output clean visual prompts and assist U-Net Image Restoration models in handling multiple degradations. The joint training process of IRConStyle, an Image Restoration framework consisting of ConStyle and a general restoration network, is divided into two stages: first, pre-training ConStyle alone, and then freezing its weights to guide the training of the general restoration network. Three improvements are proposed in the pre-training stage to train ConStyle: unsupervised pre-training, adding a pretext task (i.e. classification), and adopting knowledge distillation. Without bells and whistles, we can get ConStyle v2, a strong prompter for all-in-one Image Restoration, in less than two GPU days and doesn't require any fine-tuning. Extensive experiments on Restormer (transformer-based), NAFNet (CNN-based), MAXIM-1S (MLP-based), and a vanilla CNN network demonstrate that ConStyle v2 can enhance any U-Net style Image Restoration models to all-in-one Image Restoration models. Furthermore, models guided by the well-trained ConStyle v2 exhibit superior performance in some specific degradation compared to ConStyle.

Functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) has been increasingly employed to investigate functional brain activity. Many fMRI-related software/toolboxes have been developed, providing specialized algorithms for fMRI analysis. However, existing toolboxes seldom consider fMRI data augmentation, which is quite useful, especially in studies with limited or imbalanced data. Moreover, current studies usually focus on analyzing fMRI using conventional machine learning models that rely on human-engineered fMRI features, without investigating deep learning models that can automatically learn data-driven fMRI representations. In this work, we develop an open-source toolbox, called Augmentation and Computation Toolbox for braIn netwOrk aNalysis (ACTION), offering comprehensive functions to streamline fMRI analysis. The ACTION is a Python-based and cross-platform toolbox with graphical user-friendly interfaces. It enables automatic fMRI augmentation, covering blood-oxygen-level-dependent (BOLD) signal augmentation and brain network augmentation. Many popular methods for brain network construction and network feature extraction are included. In particular, it supports constructing deep learning models, which leverage large-scale auxiliary unlabeled data (3,800+ resting-state fMRI scans) for model pretraining to enhance model performance for downstream tasks. To facilitate multi-site fMRI studies, it is also equipped with several popular federated learning strategies. Furthermore, it enables users to design and test custom algorithms through scripting, greatly improving its utility and extensibility. We demonstrate the effectiveness and user-friendliness of ACTION on real fMRI data and present the experimental results. Efficient fine-tuning is vital for adapting large language models (LLMs) to downstream tasks. However, it requires non-trivial efforts to implement these methods on different models. We present LlamaFactory, a unified framework that integrates a suite of cutting-edge efficient training methods. It provides a solution for flexibly customizing the fine-tuning of 100+ LLMs without the need for coding through the built-in web UI LlamaBoard. We empirically validate the efficiency and effectiveness of our framework on language modeling and text generation tasks. Resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging (rs-fMRI) offers a non-invasive approach to examining abnormal brain connectivity associated with brain disorders. Graph neural network (GNN) gains popularity in fMRI representation learning and brain disorder analysis with powerful graph representation capabilities. Training a general GNN often necessitates a large-scale dataset from multiple imaging centers/sites, but centralizing multi-site data generally faces inherent challenges related to data privacy, security, and storage burden. Federated Learning (FL) enables collaborative model training without centralized multi-site fMRI data. Unfortunately, previous FL approaches for fMRI analysis often ignore site-specificity, including demographic factors such as age, gender, and education level. To this end, we propose a specificity-aware federated graph learning (SFGL) framework for rs-fMRI analysis and automated brain disorder identification, with a server and multiple clients/sites for federated model aggregation and prediction. At each client, our model consists of a shared and a personalized branch, where parameters of the shared branch are sent to the server while those of the personalized branch remain local. This can facilitate knowledge sharing among sites and also helps preserve site specificity. In the shared branch, we employ a spatio-temporal attention graph isomorphism network to learn dynamic fMRI representations. In the personalized branch, we integrate vectorized demographic information (i.e., age, gender, and education years) and functional connectivity networks to preserve site-specific characteristics. Representations generated by the two branches are then fused for classification. Experimental results on two fMRI datasets with a total of 1,218 subjects suggest that SFGL outperforms several state-of-the-art approaches.

Traffic flow forecasting is challenging due to the intricate spatio-temporal correlations in traffic flow data. Existing Transformer-based methods usually treat traffic flow forecasting as multivariate time series (MTS) forecasting. However, too many sensors can cause a vector with a dimension greater than 800, which is difficult to process without information loss. In addition, these methods design complex mechanisms to capture spatial dependencies in MTS, resulting in slow forecasting speed. To solve the abovementioned problems, we propose a Fast Pure Transformer Network (FPTN) in this paper. First, the traffic flow data are divided into sequences along the sensor dimension instead of the time dimension. Then, to adequately represent complex spatio-temporal correlations, Three types of embeddings are proposed for projecting these vectors into a suitable vector space. After that, to capture the complex spatio-temporal correlations simultaneously in these vectors, we utilize Transformer encoder and stack it with several layers. Extensive experiments are conducted with 4 real-world datasets and 13 baselines, which demonstrate that FPTN outperforms the state-of-the-art on two metrics. Meanwhile, the computational time of FPTN spent is less than a quarter of other state-of-the-art Transformer-based models spent, and the requirements for computing resources are significantly reduced.

Purpose: To develop a truly calibrationless reconstruction method that derives ESPIRiT maps from uniformly-undersampled multi-channel MR data by deep learning. Methods: ESPIRiT, one commonly used parallel imaging reconstruction technique, forms the images from undersampled MR k-space data using ESPIRiT maps that effectively represents coil sensitivity information. Accurate ESPIRiT map estimation requires quality coil sensitivity calibration or autocalibration data. We present a U-Net based deep learning model to estimate the multi-channel ESPIRiT maps directly from uniformly-undersampled multi-channel multi-slice MR data. The model is trained using fully-sampled multi-slice axial brain datasets from the same MR receiving coil system. To utilize subject-coil geometric parameters available for each dataset, the training imposes a hybrid loss on ESPIRiT maps at the original locations as well as their corresponding locations within the standard reference multi-slice axial stack. The performance of the approach was evaluated using publicly available T1-weighed brain and cardiac data. Results: The proposed model robustly predicted multi-channel ESPIRiT maps from uniformly-undersampled k-space data. They were highly comparable to the reference ESPIRiT maps directly computed from 24 consecutive central k-space lines. Further, they led to excellent ESPIRiT reconstruction performance even at high acceleration, exhibiting a similar level of errors and artifacts to that by using reference ESPIRiT maps. Conclusion: A new deep learning approach is developed to estimate ESPIRiT maps directly from uniformly-undersampled MR data. It presents a general strategy for calibrationless parallel imaging reconstruction through learning from coil and protocol specific data.

Schizophrenia is a chronic neuropsychiatric disorder that causes distinct structural alterations within the brain. We hypothesize that deep learning applied to a structural neuroimaging dataset could detect disease-related alteration and improve classification and diagnostic accuracy. We tested this hypothesis using a single, widely available, and conventional T1-weighted MRI scan, from which we extracted the 3D whole-brain structure using standard post-processing methods. A deep learning model was then developed, optimized, and evaluated on three open datasets with T1-weighted MRI scans of patients with schizophrenia. Our proposed model outperformed the benchmark model, which was also trained with structural MR images using a 3D CNN architecture. Our model is capable of almost perfectly (area under the ROC curve = 0.987) distinguishing schizophrenia patients from healthy controls on unseen structural MRI scans. Regional analysis localized subcortical regions and ventricles as the most predictive brain regions. Subcortical structures serve a pivotal role in cognitive, affective, and social functions in humans, and structural abnormalities of these regions have been associated with schizophrenia. Our finding corroborates that schizophrenia is associated with widespread alterations in subcortical brain structure and the subcortical structural information provides prominent features in diagnostic classification. Together, these results further demonstrate the potential of deep learning to improve schizophrenia diagnosis and identify its structural neuroimaging signatures from a single, standard T1-weighted brain MRI., Comment: 13 pages, 6 figures

In this paper, we study the global wellposedness of a radiation hydrodynamics model with viscosity and thermal conductivity. It is now well-understood that, unlike the compressible Euler equations whose smooth solutions must blow up in finite time no matter how small and how smooth the initial data is, the dissipative structure of such a radiation hydrodynamics model can indeed guarantee that its one-dimensional Cauchy problem admits a unique global smooth solution provided that the initial data is sufficiently small, while for large initial data, even if the heat conductivity is taken into account but the viscosity effect is ignored, shock type singularities must appear in finite time for smooth solutions of the Cauchy problem of one-dimensional radiation hydrodynamics model with thermal conductivity and zero viscosity. Thus a natural question is, if effects of both the viscosity and the thermal conductivity are considered, does the one-dimensional radiation hydrodynamics model with viscosity and thermal conductivity exist a unique global large solution? We give an affirmative answer to this problem and show in this paper that the initial-boundary value problem to the radiation hydrodynamics model in an one-dimensional periodic box T = R/Z with viscosity and thermal conductivity does exist a unique global smooth solution for any large initial data. The main ingredient in our analysis is to introduce some delicate estimates, especially an improved estimate on the absolute temperature and a pointwise estimate between the absolute temperature, the specific volume, and the first-order spatial derivative of the macro radiation flux, to deduce the desired positive lower and upper bounds on the density and the absolute temperature., Comment: 27 pages, 1 figure

It is a challenging task to learn discriminative representation from images and videos, due to large local redundancy and complex global dependency in these visual data. Convolution neural networks (CNNs) and vision transformers (ViTs) have been two dominant frameworks in the past few years. Though CNNs can efficiently decrease local redundancy by convolution within a small neighborhood, the limited receptive field makes it hard to capture global dependency. Alternatively, ViTs can effectively capture long-range dependency via self-attention, while blind similarity comparisons among all the tokens lead to high redundancy. To resolve these problems, we propose a novel Unified transFormer (UniFormer), which can seamlessly integrate the merits of convolution and self-attention in a concise transformer format. Different from the typical transformer blocks, the relation aggregators in our UniFormer block are equipped with local and global token affinity respectively in shallow and deep layers, allowing to tackle both redundancy and dependency for efficient and effective representation learning. Finally, we flexibly stack our UniFormer blocks into a new powerful backbone, and adopt it for various vision tasks from image to video domain, from classification to dense prediction. Without any extra training data, our UniFormer achieves 86.3 top-1 accuracy on ImageNet-1K classification. With only ImageNet-1K pre-training, it can simply achieve state-of-the-art performance in a broad range of downstream tasks, e.g., it obtains 82.9/84.8 top-1 accuracy on Kinetics-400/600, 60.9/71.2 top-1 accuracy on Sth-Sth V1/V2 video classification, 53.8 box AP and 46.4 mask AP on COCO object detection, 50.8 mIoU on ADE20K semantic segmentation, and 77.4 AP on COCO pose estimation. We focus on the problem of novel-view human action synthesis. Given an action video, the goal is to generate the same action from an unseen viewpoint. Naturally, novel view video synthesis is more challenging than image synthesis. It requires the synthesis of a sequence of realistic frames with temporal coherency. Besides, transferring the different actions to a novel target view requires awareness of action category and viewpoint change simultaneously. To address these challenges, we propose a novel framework named Pose-guided Action Separable Generative Adversarial Net (PAS-GAN), which utilizes pose to alleviate the difficulty of this task. First, we propose a recurrent pose-transformation module which transforms actions from the source view to the target view and generates novel view pose sequence in 2D coordinate space. Second, a well-transformed pose sequence enables us to separatethe action and background in the target view. We employ a novel local-global spatial transformation module to effectively generate sequential video features in the target view using these action and background features. Finally, the generated video features are used to synthesize human action with the help of a 3D decoder. Moreover, to focus on dynamic action in the video, we propose a novel multi-scale action-separable loss which further improves the video quality. We conduct extensive experiments on two large-scale multi-view human action datasets, NTU-RGBD and PKU-MMD, demonstrating the effectiveness of PAS-GAN which outperforms existing approaches., Comment: Accepted by WACV2022

Graph Convolution Network (GCN) has been successfully used for 3D human pose estimation in videos. However, it is often built on the fixed human-joint affinity, according to human skeleton. This may reduce adaptation capacity of GCN to tackle complex spatio-temporal pose variations in videos. To alleviate this problem, we propose a novel Dynamical Graph Network (DG-Net), which can dynamically identify human-joint affinity, and estimate 3D pose by adaptively learning spatial/temporal joint relations from videos. Different from traditional graph convolution, we introduce Dynamical Spatial/Temporal Graph convolution (DSG/DTG) to discover spatial/temporal human-joint affinity for each video exemplar, depending on spatial distance/temporal movement similarity between human joints in this video. Hence, they can effectively understand which joints are spatially closer and/or have consistent motion, for reducing depth ambiguity and/or motion uncertainty when lifting 2D pose to 3D pose. This paper investigates the indistinguishable points (difficult to predict label) in semantic segmentation for large-scale 3D point clouds. The indistinguishable points consist of those located in complex boundary, points with similar local textures but different categories, and points in isolate small hard areas, which largely harm the performance of 3D semantic segmentation. To address this challenge, we propose a novel Indistinguishable Area Focalization Network (IAF-Net), which selects indistinguishable points adaptively by utilizing the hierarchical semantic features and enhances fine-grained features for points especially those indistinguishable points. We also introduce multi-stage loss to improve the feature representation in a progressive way. Moreover, in order to analyze the segmentation performances of indistinguishable areas, we propose a new evaluation metric called Indistinguishable Points Based Metric (IPBM). Our IAF-Net achieves the comparable results with state-of-the-art performance on several popular 3D point cloud datasets e.g. S3DIS and ScanNet, and clearly outperforms other methods on IPBM., Comment: AAAI2021

The end-to-end Human Mesh Recovery (HMR) approach has been successfully used for 3D body reconstruction. However, most HMR-based frameworks reconstruct human body by directly learning mesh parameters from images or videos, while lacking explicit guidance of 3D human pose in visual data. As a result, the generated mesh often exhibits incorrect pose for complex activities. To tackle this problem, we propose to exploit 3D pose to calibrate human mesh. Specifically, we develop two novel Pose Calibration frameworks, i.e., Serial PC-HMR and Parallel PC-HMR. By coupling advanced 3D pose estimators and HMR in a serial or parallel manner, these two frameworks can effectively correct human mesh with guidance of a concise pose calibration module. Furthermore, since the calibration module is designed via non-rigid pose transformation, our PC-HMR frameworks can flexibly tackle bone length variations to alleviate misplacement in the calibrated mesh. Finally, our frameworks are based on generic and complementary integration of data-driven learning and geometrical modeling. Via plug-and-play modules, they can be efficiently adapted for both image/video-based human mesh recovery. Additionally, they have no requirement of extra 3D pose annotations in the testing phase, which releases inference difficulties in practice. In 2D image processing, some attempts decompose images into high and low frequency components for describing edge and smooth parts respectively. Similarly, the contour and flat area of 3D objects, such as the boundary and seat area of a chair, describe different but also complementary geometries. However, such investigation is lost in previous deep networks that understand point clouds by directly treating all points or local patches equally. To solve this problem, we propose Geometry-Disentangled Attention Network (GDANet). GDANet introduces Geometry-Disentangle Module to dynamically disentangle point clouds into the contour and flat part of 3D objects, respectively denoted by sharp and gentle variation components. Then GDANet exploits Sharp-Gentle Complementary Attention Module that regards the features from sharp and gentle variation components as two holistic representations, and pays different attentions to them while fusing them respectively with original point cloud features. In this way, our method captures and refines the holistic and complementary 3D geometric semantics from two distinct disentangled components to supplement the local information. Extensive experiments on 3D object classification and segmentation benchmarks demonstrate that GDANet achieves the state-of-the-arts with fewer parameters. Since constraints hinder the application of numerical algorithms, phase diagrams of quantum dimer models are still controversial, even on the square lattice. The core controversy is whether the mixed state exists. In this article, we give strong evidences to solve this dispute. With our newly developed sweeping cluster method, we studied the phase diagram of large parameter space by introducing the definition of pair correlation function and other supporting evidence to distinguish the mixed phase from the columnar phase with high precision. In particular, we find that the ground state corresponds to the mixed phase for a vast parameter region.
