[Objective] To investigate the effects of biological crustal cover and freeze-thaw on soil structure. [Methods] The effects of different freeze-thaw times, initial soil water content before freeze-thaw and biological crusting (algae crust) cover on soil structure characteristics was employed to analyze the indoor simulated freeze-thaw method. [Results] (1) The soil structure index (IGSS) obtained by orthogonal experiment was between 75.57～96.57, the signal-to-noise ratio (S/N) was between 37.55～39.70 dB, and the optimal factor combination ascertained by the Taguchi method was 15 freeze-thaw cycles, 15% initial water content, and 80% algal crust coverage, and the predicted results were IGSS=98.09, S/N=39.89 dB. (2)A positive correlation was observed between IGSSIGSS was positively correlated with freeze-thaw times, initial water content and algal crusting coverage, and the primary influences on the soil structure index were ranked as initial water content > freeze-thaw times > algal crusting coverage. The contribution rates of each factor to alterations in the soil structure index were initial water content (52.17%) > freeze-thaw frequency (31.95%) > algae crusting coverage (2.12%). (3) The change of soil structure index comes from the loss of soil water and pore expansion during the freeze-thaw process, and algae crusting can slow down the loss of water during the freeze-thaw process, thereby decelerating the IGSS alteration. [Conclusion] Orthogonal experiments in this research explored the effect of algae crusting cover on soil structure under freeze-thaw conditions, and the results could provide a theoretical reference for the study of soil freeze-thaw process under complex conditions.

Correlation judgments are at the core of belief formation. In previous studies of correlation judgment from 2D scatterplots, observers underestimate correlations, and display stronger underestimation biases when the scatterplot is shown in a landscape view than in a portrait view. Yet, it is unclear how these biases arise. Here, we propose that observers are Bayesian learners who perform “mental regression” using the observed data points in graph. Accordingly, judgment errors can arise from biased visual information sampling. We test our model’s predictions with two eye-tracking experiments and find that the Bayesian learning model, applied to information obtained from visual fixation data, replicates classic behavioral findings. The model also predicts trial-level estimation biases at a high accuracy level. Our study shows how computational models trained on process-level data can shed light on the cognitive mechanisms underlying belief formation, and yield theory-driven practical implications for data visualization and statistical communication.

‘Josapine’ is a famous pineapple cultivar as a kind of table fruit with a strong special aromatic fragrance like rose or jasmine, In this paper, ripen fruits were harvested monthly from January to June, and volatile compounds were measured by HS-SPME-GC-MS method to reveal the mysterious aroma compounds. Results showed that 112 volatile compounds totally were found in 5 harvest time. Esters and terpenes are the dominant volatiles among Josapine. February fruits contained the most abundant esters with 80.85% of total volatiles and May fruits contained the richest terpenes with 57.17%. In April and May harvested period, (Z)- β-ocimene was extremely significantly higher than that of other three periods. In March fruit. fruits smelt much more floral than in February and March probably attribute to the abundant (Z)-β-ocimene.

Biomolecular condensates have emerged as an important subcellular organizing principle.sup.1. Replication of many viruses, including human respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), occurs in virus-induced compartments called inclusion bodies (IBs) or viroplasm.sup.2,3. IBs of negative-strand RNA viruses were recently shown to be biomolecular condensates that form through phase separation.sup.4,5. Here we report that the steroidal alkaloid cyclopamine and its chemical analogue A3E inhibit RSV replication by disorganizing and hardening IB condensates. The actions of cyclopamine and A3E were blocked by a point mutation in the RSV transcription factor M2-1. IB disorganization occurred within minutes, which suggests that these molecules directly act on the liquid properties of the IBs. A3E and cyclopamine inhibit RSV in the lungs of infected mice and are condensate-targeting drug-like small molecules that have in vivo activity. Our data show that condensate-hardening drugs may enable the pharmacological modulation of not only many previously undruggable targets in viral replication but also transcription factors at cancer-driving super-enhancers.sup.6. Suaeda australis is a typical halophyte due to its high salt tolerance. The WRKY gene family plays crucial roles in responding to salt stress, yet reports on WRKY genes in S. australis are scarce. In this study, we identified 47 WRKY genes in the S. australis genome. We then conducted comprehensive analyses, including investigations into their chromosomal locations, gene structures, phylogenetic relationships, promoter regions, conserved motifs, and expression profiles. The 47 WRKY genes were classified into three main groups (with six subfamilies). Among nine chromosomes, S. australis displayed an unequal pattern of distribution. The analysis of regulatory elements revealed that WRKY promoters were associated with light responsiveness, anaerobic induction, drought inducibility, meristem expression, and gibberellin responsiveness. Expression pattern analyses highlighted the role of several SaWRKYs, including Sau00527, Sau00681, Sau18413, Sau19293, Sau00810, Sau05901, Sau09209, Sau12457, and Sau14103. These genes exhibited higher expression levels under ST2 compared to ST1, indicating a significant response to salt stress. Higher SOD, POD, and CAT activity, as well as increased MDA and H2O2 content, were observed in ST2, in line with the expression patterns and our RTq-PCR results. Our study offers a profound understanding of the evolutionary development of S. australis WRKY members, clarifying their vital functions in responding to salt stress. Along with crucial genomic data, these findings establish a solid foundation for investigating the mechanisms of salt-stress regulation in S. australis. Polymer self-assembly can prepare various shapes and sizes of pores, making it widely used. The complexity and diversity of biomolecules make them a unique class of building blocks for precise assembly. They are particularly suitable for the new generation of biomaterials integrated with life systems as they possess inherent characteristics such as accurate identification, self-organization, and adaptability. Therefore, many excellent methods developed have led to various practical results. At the same time, the development of advanced science and technology has also expanded the application scope of self-assembly of synthetic polymers. By utilizing this technology, materials with unique shapes and properties can be prepared and applied in the field of tissue engineering. Nanomaterials with transparent and conductive properties can be prepared and applied in fields such as electronic displays and smart glass. Multi-dimensional, controllable, and multi-level self-assembly between nanostructures has been achieved through quantitative control of polymer dosage and combination, chemical modification, and composite methods. Here, we list the classic applications of natural- and artificially synthesized polymer self-assembly in the fields of biomedicine and materials, introduce the cutting-edge technologies involved in these applications, and discuss in-depth the advantages, disadvantages, and future development directions of each type of polymer self-assembly. Breeding is an effective method for the varietal development of pineapple. However, due to open pollination, it is necessary to conduct authentic identification of the hybrid offspring. In this study, we identified the authenticity of offspring and analyzed the genetic diversity within the offspring F1 hybrids resulting from crosses between 'Josapine' and 'MD2' by single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) markers. From the resequencing data, 26 homozygous loci that differentiate between the parents have been identified. Then, genotyping was performed on both the parents and 36 offspring to select SNP markers that are suitable for authentic identification. The genotyping results revealed that 2 sets of SNP primers, namely SNP4010 and SNP22550, successfully identified 395 authentic hybrids out of 451 hybrid offspring. We randomly selected two true hybrids and four pseudohybrids for sequencing validation, and the results have shown that two true hybrids had double peaks with A/G, while pseudohybrids had single peaks with base A or G. Further study showed that the identification based on SNP molecular markers remained consistent with the morphological identification results in the field, with a true hybridization rate of 87.58%. K-means clustering and UPGMA tree analysis revealed that the hybrid offspring could be categorized into two groups. Among them, 68.5% of offspring aggregated with MD2, while 31.95% were grouped with Josapine. The successful application of SNP marker to identify pineapple F1 hybrid populations provides a theoretical foundation and practical reference for the future development of rapid SNP marker-based methods for pineapple hybrid authenticity and purity testing. The microbial communities associated with alkaline–surfactant–polymer (ASP)-flooded reservoirs have rarely been investigated. In this study, high-throughput sequencing was used to analyse the indigenous microbial communities in two different blocks, the water flooding after the alkaline–surfactant–polymer flooding block and the alkaline–surfactant–polymer flooding block, and to ascertain the optimal stage for the implementation of indigenous microbial oil recovery technology. The different displacement blocks had significant effects on the indigenous microbial community at the genus level according to an alpha diversity analysis and community composition. In water flooding after alkaline–surfactant–polymer flooding, the dominant genus of Pseudomonas exceeded 30%, increasing to 52.1% in alkaline–surfactant–polymer flooding, but alpha diversity decreased. Through a co-occurrence network analysis, it was found that the complexity of the water flooding after alkaline–surfactant–polymer flooding was higher than that of alkaline–surfactant–polymer flooding. This means that the water flooding ecosystem after alkaline–surfactant–polymer flooding was more stable and less susceptible to external environmental influences. In addition, there were significant differences in the functional redundancy of microbial communities in different blocks. In summary, the optimal stage for implementing local microbial oil recovery technology may be water flooding after alkaline–surfactant–polymer flooding. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

To analyze the potential problems in scheduling nursing personnel in different periods of the COVID-19 Outbreak by using a situation analysis method, and to provide clinical practice for nursing staff to schedule major public health emergencies in the future. In the early stage, nursing staff were shifted according to the proportion, the grouping and partitioning were arranged in the mid-term, and number of staff was reduced to a reasonable shift in the later stage. The construction of Marine Ranching is a safe, efficient, and sustainable way to achieve marine environmental protection and biological resource utilization. In recent years, the construction of Marine Ranching in coastal provinces in China has developed rapidly, but due to the late start, the ability to guarantee ecological security is weak. In this paper, Pseudosciaena crocea was selected as typical aquaculture species in Marine Ranching of the East China Sea, by integrating the experimental data from former studies effect of temperature on the Specific Growth Rate of this aquaculture species was evaluated via performing quadratic regression fitting, the results reveal that the optimum temperature ranges for Pseudosciaena crocea are 25.3– 30.7°C, the preferred range is 18.9–25.3°C, the unsuitable temperature ranges were lower than 18.9°C and higher than 30.7°C. Further, based on the aquaculture specifications, commodity specifications , and aquaculture cycle, the Specific Growth Rate to be achieved by the aquaculture species is determined, and the corresponding temperature threshold and graded evaluation were obtained, finally, the suitable water temperature distribution area of the Pseudosciaena crocea was evaluated based on the hydrological data observed in the East China Sea during 2020–2021.

In this article, we applied the AHP method with quantitative analysis and qualitative analysis to analyze three sorts of basic educational mode combining production with learning and research, i.e. the automated instruction, the mode combining production and learning, and the integration combining production with learning and research, and obtained that the educational mode combining production with learning and research was the optimal mode to realize the value of the higher vocational education.
