The DArk Matter Particle Explorer (DAMPE) is well suitable for searching for monochromatic and sharp $\gamma$-ray structures in the GeV$-$TeV range thanks to its unprecedented high energy resolution. In this work, we search for $\gamma$-ray line structures using five years of DAMPE data. To improve the sensitivity, we develop two types of dedicated data sets (including the BgoOnly data which is the first time to be used in the data analysis for the calorimeter-based gamma-ray observatories) and adopt the signal-to-noise ratio optimized regions of interest (ROIs) for different DM density profiles. No line signals or candidates are found between 10 and 300 GeV in the Galaxy. The constraints on the velocity-averaged cross section for $\chi\chi \to \gamma\gamma$ and the decay lifetime for $\chi \to \gamma\nu$, both at 95% confidence level, have been calculated and the systematic uncertainties have been taken into account. Comparing to the previous Fermi-LAT results, though DAMPE has an acceptance smaller by a factor of $\sim 10$, similar constraints on the DM parameters are achieved and below 100 GeV the lower limits on the decay lifetime are even stronger by a factor of a few. Our study aims to test the hypothesis that ELC patients with lower serum levels of the age-suppressing hormone Klotho, which is not only associated with premature aging but also with endothelial dysfunction, may be associated with atherosclerosis.Methods: A total of 135 patients aged 40– 68 years underwent coronary angiography. According to the presence or absence of coronary heart disease (CAD) and ELC, they were divided into three groups: CAD group and ELC group (ELC group, n = 45); no ELC group (non-ELC group, n = 45). There was no ELC or CAD in the control group (control group, n = 45). Serum Klotho concentration was obtained by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA).Results: The Klotho level in the ELC group was 365.6 ± 38.1 pg/mL, while the Klotho level in the non-ELC group was 568.8 ± 44.9 pg/mL. It is worth noting that the Klotho level of the ELC group was significantly lower than that of the non-ELC group (P < 0.001). The serum Klotho level of the control group was higher than that of the non-ELC group (593.3± 45.3 vs 568.8± 44.9 pg/mL, P = 0.702), but the difference was not statistically significant. Multiple logistic regression analysis showed that the Klotho level is a parameter that affects the appearance of ELC.Conclusion: Serum Klotho levels were considerably lower in patients with ELC. We concluded that the perturbations of Klotho in patients might be associated with ELC and with CAD.Keywords: earlobe crease, Klotho, atherosclerosis, premature aging

Temozolomide (TMZ) can cross the blood-brain barrier (BBB) and deliver methyl groups to the purine (guanine) bases of DNA, leading to mispairing during DNA replication and subsequent cell death. However, increased expression of the repair enzyme methyl guanine methyltransferase (MGMT), which removes methyl groups from purine bases, counteracts methylation by TMZ. We evaluated the anticancer potential of thymoquinone (TQ), a hydrophobic flavonoid that inhibits resistance and induces apoptosis in various cancer cells, both in vitro and in vivo. In vitro experiments showed that compared with the Hs683 and M059J cell lines, U251 cells were more sensitive to TMZ. Compared to U251 cells, U251R cells, a TMZ drug-resistant strain established in this study, are characterized by increased expression of phosphorylated extracellular signal-regulated kinase (p-ERK) and MGMT. TQ treatments induced apoptosis in all cell lines. The p38 mitogen-activated protein kinase signal pathway was mainly activated in U251 and U251R cells; however, p-ERK and MGMT upregulation could not suppress TQ effects. Furthermore, si-p38 pretreatment of U251R cells in TQ treatments inhibited cell apoptosis. We speculate that TQ contributed to the phosphorylation and activation of p38, but not of ERK-induced apoptosis (irrespective of TMZ resistance). In vivo, U251R-derived tumors subcutaneously inoculated in nude mice exhibited significant tumor volume reduction after TQ or TQ + TMZ cotreatments. High-performance liquid chromatography assay confirmed the presence of TQ in murine brain tissues. Our findings demonstrate that TQ can effectively cross the BBB and function alone or in combination with TMZ to treat glioblastoma.

Green manure is a kind of bio-organic fertilizer, and its process of mineralization and decomposition produces substances that plants can directly use and affect the soil Cd availability upon decomposition by microorganisms in the soil. Green manures have different effects on Cd availability; however, there is no simple linear relationship between them. In this study, the effect of dissolved organic matter, pH and Eh, iron reduction, and microbial communities on Cd availability and accumulation in green manure crops were reviewed. Results showed that upon application of green manure decomposed by microorganisms in soil, the soil dissolved organic matter, pH and Eh, iron reduction and microbial communities influenced the migration of Cd(soil heavy metal), which could be immobilized in the soil or precipitated on the ground of plant roots. Above-ground part of Cd decreased after many interceptions by miscellaneous cells, and only a very small amount of Cd finally reached the edible part of crop. However, there was an uncertain effect of green manure on soil Cd repaired, which was disturbed by other factors such as green manure dosage, crop varieties, and soil physical and chemical properties. In this study, we investigated the effect of green manure on different soil conditions, and green manure was disturbed by other factors in clarifying the mechanism of its effect on Cd availability.

The DArk Matter Particle Explorer (DAMPE), a space-based high energy particle detector, has been operated on-orbit for more than five years. The large geometric factor and good charge resolution enable DAMPE to have very good potential to measure cosmic-rays up to 100 TeV. Knowledge of the boron to carbon (B/C) flux ratio is very important in understanding the prop- agation of cosmic rays, especially in TeV energy range. In this contribution, the latest progress of the B/C flux ratio analysis based on the flight data collected by DAMPE during the 5 years of operation, is presented.

Gesture recognition utilizes deep learning network model to automatically extract deep features of data; however, traditional machine learning algorithms rely on manual feature extraction and poor model generalization ability. In this paper, a multimodal gesture recognition algorithm based on convolutional long-term memory network is proposed. First, a convolutional neural network (CNN) is employed to automatically extract the deeply hidden features of multimodal gesture data. Then, a time series model is constructed using a long short-term memory (LSTM) network to learn the long-term dependence of multimodal gesture features on the time series. On this basis, the classification of multimodal gestures is realized by the SoftMax classifier. Finally, the method is experimented and evaluated on two dynamic gesture datasets, VIVA and NVGesture. Experimental results indicate that the accuracy rates of the proposed method on the VIVA and NVGesture datasets are 92.55% and 87.38%, respectively, and its recognition accuracy and convergence performance are better than those of other comparison algorithms.

The present study aimed to investigate effects of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) on soil physical and chemical properties, maize growth, photosynthetic physiology, nutrient content, and cadmium and lead content in maize under heavy metal stress. Heavy metalcontaminated farmland soil was sampled from lead-zinc mining areas in Huize and Lanping Counties, Yunnan Province. A pot experiment was carried out using maize as the host plant with AMF inoculation. Results showed that:Inoculation with AMF significantly increased the content of easily extractive glomalin related soil protein (EE-GRSP) and total glomalin related soil protein (T-GRSP). The available content of Cd and Pb in soil reduced by 34.6%~79.5%, and the content of available nitrogen and phosphorus in soil increased by 30.9%~206%. Under inoculation with AMF, the content of nitrogen and phosphorus in maize increased significantly by 17.6%~38.5%, photosynthesis of leaves and plant biomass were enhanced, and content of Cd and Pb in maize reduced by 30.0%~68.7%. Correlation analysis indicated that there was a very significant positive correlation between the T-GRSP content and the content of available nitrogen and phosphorus. A significant negative correlation between the content of EE-GRSP and T-GRSP and the available Pb content in soil, and a significant positive correlation between the content of Cd and Pb in maize and the available content of Cd and Pb in soil were observed. In addition, there were significant positive correlations between the nitrogen content in maize roots and the available nitrogen content in soil, and between the phosphorus content in maize and the available phosphorus content in soil. Results indicated that AMF inoculation reduced the content of Cd and Pb in maize by decreasing the bioavailability of Cd and Pb with an increase in the GRSP in the polluted soil, and enhanced maize biomass by increasing the available nutrient content in soil and improving the mineral nutrition and photosynthetic physiology of maize.

Objective To observe the antibacterial effect of adding cefazolin into anesthetics in patients with terminal cancer undergoing long-term epidural analgesia. Methods Patients undergoing epidural analgesia with terminal cancer were randomly divided into two groups: the conventional drug group (group C) and the cefazolin group (group G). Both groups were given levobupivacaine and morphine, while cefazolin was added to group G. The mean arterial pressure (MAP), heart rate (HR), respiratory rates (R), visual analogue scale (VAS) scores, satisfaction and complications of patients in the two groups were observed. 3 ml of the used analgesic was taken for bacterial culture when replacing the new analgesic case. Results HR, MAP, R, VAS scores, dosages of morphine, satisfaction of the analgesic and the complications were not significantly different between the two groups (P > 0.05). The overall satisfaction of patients in group G was significantly higher than that in group C (P Conclusion Adding cefazolin to local anesthetics could effectively prevent bacterial infection and ensured the safety of epidural analgesia for patients with terminal cancer.

Facial landmark detection can be applied in various facial analysis tasks. It is a challenging problem due to the various poses and high real-time requirements. To balance accuracy and computational efficiency, we propose an efficient coarse-to-fine network by combining heatmap regression and lightweight coordinate regression to detect facial landmarks. The heatmap regression network branch employs an efficient spatial pyramid and attention mechanism to regress to a better quality heatmap. The lightweight coordinate regression network branch introduces the local region perceptron to make the small network focus on the region of interest. Our method develops the advantages of heatmap regression and coordinate regression, which can improve landmark detection. Moreover, we propose a novel two-stage FTS loss function that can further effectively solve the outlier problem in facial landmark detection. The comprehensive experiments demonstrate the effectiveness of our approach.

Two novel molybdenum-based heterogeneous catalysts immobilized on dendrimer-functionalized graphene oxide via electrostatic interactions (Mo-1) or covalent bonding (Mo-2) are reported. The catalysts show excellent catalysis in epoxidation of alkenes with high conversion, better selectivity and good recyclability. The characteristics were identified by SEM, TEM (EDS-mapping), FT-IR, XRD, and XPS. The cause of the difference between the two catalysts is supported by DFT calculations.

The DArk Matter Particle Explorer (DAMPE) is a satellite-borne experiment, in operation since 2015, aimed at studying high-energy gamma rays and cosmic nuclei fluxes. Of the various sub-detectors in the DAMPE payload, the Silicon-Tungsten tracKer-converter (STK) plays a significant role in the charge measurement of incoming ions. Depending on the angle of inclination of the impinging particle and its position of impact on these strips, the collected charge can spread between the strips which results in some fractional signal loss. The $\eta$ variable is used to identify this spread of charge across the strips and correct for the associated charge loss. This brings us closer to accurate determination of particle charge which is crucial for ensuring a good discrimination between particles. The $\eta$-correction is, therefore, expected to play an important role in the determination of heavy ions by the DAMPE detector. It has helped reduce the proton background for the helium identification in STK by a factor of 1.5 for MIP tracks. It has been sucessfully applied to carbon nuclei and its application to heavier nuclei is currently being studied.

Since its launch, in December 2015, the satellite-based DAMPE (DArk Matter Particle Explorer) particle detector is taking data smoothly. The Silicon-Tungsten tracKer-converter (STK) of DAMPE consists of six tracking planes (6x, 6y) of single-sided silicon micro-strip detectors mounted on seven support trays. The STK is able to measure the charge and precisely reconstruct the track of traversing charged particles. Tungsten plates (1 mm thick) are integrated in the second, third and fourth tray from the top to serve as $\gamma \rightarrow e^+e^−$ converters. Commissioned rapidly after the launch, the STK is running extremely well since then. The STK in-orbit calibration and performance during its first more than 5 years of operation, including the noise behaviour and the thermal and mechanical stability, are presented in this contribution.
