Post-combustion CO_2 absorption by amine has great potential for large-scale carbon capture and industrial promotion. However, in the process of efficiently absorbing CO_2, part of the absorbers will leave the carbon capture system in the form of aerosol along with the flue gas, which will not only lead to abnormal operation of the equipment but also cause environmental pollution. Therefore, the emission control of amine aerosol has become a new issue to be solved urgently in the industrial promotion of amine carbon capture. However, the amine carbon capture is still in the demonstration stage. Although attention has been paid to the emission control of amine aerosols at home and abroad, the formation and evolution of amine aerosols is a complex process affected by many factors such as absorption parameters and flue gas components. The actual emission of amine aerosols is quite different, which poses a challenge for the development of efficient and low-cost control technology and the establishment of emission limits. This paper introduces the significance of heterogeneous nuclei in heterogeneous nucleation of amine aerosols. The test methods of amine aerosol concentration and size are summarized. The emission of amine aerosols measured by different research institutions are compared. The size distribution characteristics of amine aerosols under different heterogeneous nuclei are determined. The effects of heterogeneous nuclei, CO_2 concentration, lean liquid temperature and solvent load on the formation and emission of amine aerosols are analyzed. Finally, the advantages and disadvantages of three types of amine emission control technologies, such as condensation pretreatment, in-tower regulation and efficient tail control, are summarized. In the future, the emission control of amine aerosols in amine carbon capture system should be integrated into the whole process of pollution reduction and carbon reduction, from reducing the formation of amine aerosols to promoting the aggregation and growth of amine aerosols, and finally realizes the collaborative control of multiple pollutants.

The stability and safety of selective catalytic reduction (SCR) systems are threatened by potential catalyst blockages caused by fly ash deposition. This paper proposes to improve the blockage resistance of denitration catalysts for sintered fly ash through particle conditioning. X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, and laser particle analyzer were combined with laboratory heating experiments and field tests for systematic research. The results indicate that the composition and morphology of sintered fly ash are intrinsic factors contributing to catalyst blockage, while heating conditions act as external triggers. The sintered fly ash primarily exhibits a fluffy, branched cotton-like structure. Its main components are K2O, Fe2O3, Na2O, and CaO, with the alkali metal oxides of potassium and sodium comprising 20% to 50%. At ambient temperature, sintered fly ash presents no agglomeration, but significant agglomeration occurs as temperature increases. Particle conditioning effectively inhibits the agglomeration tendency of sintered fly ash. Field tests show that catalyst activity remains unaffected even under severe blockage conditions. The pressure drop across the catalyst layers increases progressively, with the first layer displaying the least pressure drop and the third displaying the most. After particle conditioning, the pressure drop across the catalyst is stabilized at values below 600 Pa, effectively mitigating the blockage issue in the denitrification catalyst for sintering flue gas. Steam-assisted-gravity-drainage (SAGD) is a widely employed method to enhance heavy oil production and efficiency, and the key to ensuring its steady operation is the maintenance of a steam chamber. Heat conduction and convection of steam to connate water are essential factors in the heat transfer process. In this paper, we developed a novel analytical model to investigate the heat transfer process on the boundary of the steam chamber, driven by the pressure difference between the injected steam and the original reservoir. Both conduction and convection are considered in this new model, and the calculated results are in good agreement with the simulated data by using CMG-STARS. After model validation, the effects of physical properties and operating conditions (relative permeability, initial water saturation, and steam temperature) on the heat transfer process are investigated. The results reveal that connate water saturation plays a large role than the steam temperature in conductive heat flux; low saturation leads to more efficient crude oil exploitation. In this work, soot oxidation was conducted over a series of Mn-X/γ-Al2O3 (M = Ce, Co and Cu) binary catalysts in a dielectric barrier discharge reactor. The soot conversion in the plasma–catalytic system was in the order of Mn/γ-Al2O3 (57.7%) > Mn-Co/γ-Al2O3 (53.9%) > Mn-Ce/γ-Al2O3 (51.6%) > Mn-Cu/γ-Al2O3 (47.7%) during the 30 min soot oxidation process at 14 W and 150 °C. Meanwhile, the doping of Ce, Co and Cu slightly improved the CO2 selectivity of the process by 4.7% to 10.3% compared to soot oxidation over Mn/γ-Al2O3.It is worth to note that the order of CO2 selectivity was in the opposite order with soot oxidation rate. The effects of discharge power, oxygen content in the carrier gas and reaction temperature on plasma–catalytic soot oxidation was systematically analyzed. The catalyst characterizations, including N2 adsorption–desorption, X-ray diffraction, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, temperature-programmed reduction by H2 and temperature-programmed desorption of O2, were conducted to illustrate the reaction mechanisms of plasma–catalytic soot oxidation and reaction pathways. Hydrodesulfurization reaction, as the last step of hydrothermal cracking reaction, is of great significance for the reduction of viscosity and desulfurization of heavy oil. Based on Density Functional Theory and using Dmol3 module of Materials Studio, this research simulated the adsorption and hydrodesulfurization of thiophene on Ni2P (001) surface, and discussed the hydrodesulfurization reaction mechanism of thiophene on Ni2P (001) surface. It was found that the direct hydrodesulfurization of thiophene had more advantages than the indirect hydrodesulfurization of thiophene. Chlorine-containing volatile organic compounds (CVOCs) present in industrial exhaust gas can cause great harm to the human body and the environment. In order to further study the catalytic oxidation of CVOCs, an active site regulated RuOx/Sn0.2Ti0.8O2 catalyst with different Ru precursors was developed. With Dichloromethane as the model molecule, the activity test results showed that the optimization of Ru precursor using Ru colloid significantly increased the activity of the catalyst (T90 was reduced by about 90 °C when the Ru loading was 1 wt%). The analysis of characterization results showed that the improvement of the catalytic performance was mainly due to the improvement of the active species dispersion (the size of Ru cluster was reduced from 3–4 nm to about 1.3 nm) and the enhancement of the interaction between the active species and the support. The utilization efficiency of the active components was improved by nearly doubling TOF value, and the overall oxidation performance of the catalyst was also enhanced. The relationship between the Ru loading and the catalytic activity of the catalyst was also studied to better determine the optimal Ru loading. It could be found that with the increase in Ru loading, the dispersibility of RuOx species on the catalyst surface gradually decreased, despite the increase in their total amount. The combined influence of these two effects led to little change in the catalytic activity of the catalyst at first, and then a significant increase.
