A memory-based frequent-pattern discovering algorithm for large-scale corpus was presented.First,the origi-nal corpus was partitioned into several parts using appropriate dividing policy.Then each partition was processed inde-pendently to produce a temporary result,and the union of all temporary results is the final frequent-pattern set.The algo-rithm prunes a subtree once it is sure that none of the corresponding pattern will be frequent.Experiment shows that it takes no more than 1.6 gigabytes of memory to discover all patterns appearing more than 100 times for a 3.6 gigabytes news corpus,the average speed is 3.28 magabytes per second.

To recognize the hotspot information through great deal of Internet data,the hotspot information detection al-gorithm（HID） was designed.Based on segmented word joint,with a customized noise library and multi-level filtering strategies,HID was provided with the ability to detect hotspot information in large amount of Internet pages.Experiment on TDT international standard test corpus proved the efficiency of HID.

Background: Bladder cancer is a type of cancer with a high incidence in men. Plasma electrosurgery (PES) is often used in the treatment of bladder cancer. Postoperative complications often cause depression and anxiety in patients after surgery., Aim: To investigate the current state of depression and anxiety after PES in patients with non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer and analyze the factors affecting them., Methods: A retrospective study was conducted to compare the baseline data of patients by collecting their medical history and grouping them according to their mental status into negative and normal groups. Logistic regression analysis was used to explore the risk factors affecting the occurrence of anxiety and depression after surgery in patients with bladder cancer., Results: Comparative analyses of baseline differences showed that the patients in the negative and normal groups differed in terms of their first surgery, economic status, educational level, and marital status. A logistic regression analysis showed that it affected the occurrence of anxiety in patients with bladder cancer, and the results showed that whether the risk factors were whether or not it was the first surgery, monthly income between 3000 and 3000-6000, secondary or junior high school education level, single, divorced, and widowed statuses., Conclusion: The risk factors affecting the onset of anxiety and depression in bladder cancer patients after PES are the number of surgeries, economic status, level of education, and marital status. Background: Nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) is a kind of head-neck malignant neoplasm originated from the nasopharyngeal epithelium and is mainly prevalent in Southern China and Southeast Asia countries. KiSS-1 is an inhibitor of tumor metastasis in a range of cancers., Methods: We establish a cell substrain of SUNE-1-5-8F (NPC cell line from humans) that trsnfected with lentiviral vectors carried with KiSS-1 gene and were selected by puromycin. A transplantation tumor animal model in BALB/c-nu mice was successfully established with a substrain that stably overexpressed KiSS-1., Results: Our result showed that the size of transplantation tumor in the nude mice with KiSS-1 overexpression in transplantation tumor was not difference from the size of transplantation tumor in the controlled transplantation tumor mice. We detected metastatic tumor in lung but not in liver. Moreover, we also found that in the nude mice with KiSS-1 overexpression in transplantation tumor showed extremely fewer metastatic tumor in lung compared with the controlled transplantation tumor mice model. In conclusion, KiSS-1 may be beneficial for the inhibition of metastasis of human NPC., Conclusion: This study may throw light on the treatment of NPC and may help improve the prognosis of patients with NPC., Competing Interests: None.

In this study, two school-aged children had an acute onset in spring and had the manifestations of fever, headache, vomiting, disturbance of consciousness, purpura and ecchymosis, and positive meningeal irritation sign. There were increases in peripheral white blood cells and neutrophils, but reductions in the hemoglobin level and platelet count in the two children. They had a significant increase in C-reactive protein. There were hundreds or thousands of white blood cells in the cerebrospinal fluid, mainly neutrophils. Increased protein contents but normal levels of glucose and chloride in the cerebrospinal fluid were found. Head CT scan showed multiple hematomas in the right cerebellum and both hemispheres in one child. Bone marrow cytology indicated infection in the bone marrow, and both blood culture and bone marrow culture showed methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). Both patients had cardiac murmurs and progressive reductions in the hemoglobin level and platelet count during treatment, and echocardiography showed the formation of vegetation in the aortic valve. Therefore, the patients were diagnosed with infectious endocarditis (IE). Vancomycin was used as the anti-infective therapy based on the results of drug sensitivity test. One child was cured after 6 weeks, and the other child was withdrawn from the treatment and then died. Dynamic monitoring of cardiac murmurs should be performed for children with unexplained fever, and echocardiography should be performed in time to exclude IE. IE should also be considered for children with purulent meningitis and skin and mucosal bleeding which cannot be explained by the reduction in platelet count.

Schwann cells are not only myelinating cells, but also function as immune cells and express numerous innate pattern recognition receptors, including the Toll-like receptors. Injury to peripheral nerves activates an inflammatory response in Schwann cells. However, it is unclear whether specific endogenous damage-associated molecular pattern molecules are involved in the inflammatory response following nerve injury. In the present study, we demonstrate that a key damage-associated molecular pattern molecule, high mobility group box 1 (HMGB1), is upregulated following rat sciatic nerve axotomy, and we show colocalization of the protein with Schw-ann cells. HMGB1 alone could not enhance expression of Toll-like receptors or the receptor for advanced glycation end products (RAGE), but was able to facilitate migration of Schwann cells. When Schwann cells were treated with HMGB1 together with lipopolysaccharide, the expression levels of Toll-like receptors and RAGE, as well as inflammatory cytokines were upregulated. Our novel findings demonstrate that the HMGB1 pathway activates the inflammatory response in Schwann cells following peripheral nerve injury.

Major depressive disorder (MDD) is a highly prevalent, debilitating mental illness of importance for global health. However, its molecular pathophysiology remains poorly understood. Combined proteomics and metabolomics approaches should provide a comprehensive understanding of MDD's etiology. The present study reports novel "-omics" insights from a rodent model of MDD. Cerebellar samples from chronic mild stressed (CMS)-treated depressed rats and controls were compared with a focus on the differentially expressed proteins and metabolites using isobaric tags for relative and absolute quantitation (iTRAQ)-based proteomics and gas chromotography/mass spectrometry (GC-MS) metabolomics techniques, respectively. The combined analyses found significant alterations associated with cerebellar energy metabolism, as indicated by (1) abnormal amino acid metabolism accompanied by corresponding metabolic enzymatic alterations and disturbed protein turnover, (2) increased glycolytic and tricarboxylic acid (TCA) cycle enzyme levels paralleled by changes in the concentrations of associated metabolites, and (3) perturbation of ATP biosynthesis through adenosine accompanied by perturbation of the mitochondrial respiratory chain. To the best of our knowledge, this study is the first to integrate proteomics and metabolomics analyses to examine the pathophysiological mechanism(s) underlying MDD in a CMS rodent model of depression. These results can offer important insights into the pathogenesis of MDD.

Objective: Notch signal is particularly important to vascular remodeling during the process of embryonic development, vessel repair and tumor growth, but there are few studies about pulmonary vascular remodeling in pulmonary hypertension. This study was to explore the effect of inhibiting Notch signal on pulmonary vascular remodeling induced by angiotensin II., Methods: Vessel strips taken from healthy Wistar rats were cocultured with extrogenous angiotensin II and the potent smooth muscle cell proliferation stimulators for 7 days. Vascular wall thickness, proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA) positive cell rate, and caspase-3 positive cell rate were examined in vessel strips. Some of the vessel strips were cultured with angiotensin II and γ-secretase inhibitor DAPT, a Notch signaling inhibitor, for 7 days. The levels of Notch 1 to 4 receptor and HERP1/2 mRNA were ascertained by FQ-PCR., Results: Angiotensin II stimulation in the cultured normal pulmonary arteries resulted in an increase in the vascular medial thickness by nearly 50%, and a significant increase in the PCNA positive cell rate and a decrease in the caspase-3 positive cell rate (P<0.05). DAPT treatment did not alter the levels of Notch 1 to 4 receptor but remarkably decreased HERP1 and HERP2 mRNA expression (P<0.05). DAPT treatment also decreased angiotensin II-induced vascular medial thickness and PCNA positive cell rate, and increased caspase-3 positive cell rate (P<0.05)., Conclusions: Inhibition of Notch signal by the γ-secretase inhibitor may suppress pulmonary vascular remodeling induced by angiotensin II, suggesting that the inhibition of Notch signal pathway might be a novel strategy for the treatment of pulmonary hypertension.
