The microstructure and composition of styrene-conjugated diene block copolymer and its hydrogenation product hydrogenated styrene-conjugated diene block copolymer (HSBC) were determined by nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, degree of benzene ring hydrogenation of HSBC was calculated and compared with the calculation result of ultraviolet spectrum. The results showed that compared with the ultraviolet spectrum, the nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy had the advantages of simple steps, fast and efficient, and calculated degree of benzene ring hydrogenation of HSBC was in good agreement with the calculation results of UV method.

Abstract Background Reports of pulmonary aspergillosis and mucormycosis co-infections are rare; thus, limited guidance is available on early diagnosis and treatment. We present a case of mixed pulmonary Aspergillus and Mucor infection and review the literature regarding this co-infection. The diagnosis and treatment methods are summarized to improve clinicians’ understanding of the disease and to facilitate early diagnosis and treatment. Case presentation A 60-year-old male farmer with poorly controlled diabetes mellitus was admitted to hospital with a fever of unknown origin that had been present for 15 days and pulmonary aspergillosis complicated by Mucor spp. infection. Because multiple lobes were involved, the infection worsened despite surgical resection and antifungal therapy. Finally, we treated this patient with a bronchoscopic infusion of amphotericin B. After four courses of bronchoscopic amphotericin B infusion, we observed rapid clinical improvement and subsequent resolution of pulmonary infiltrates. Conclusion Our case highlights the use of bronchoscopy in the successful clinical treatment of invasive fungal diseases of the lung.

Abstract Background Age-related eye diseases (AREDs) have become increasingly prevalent with the aging population, serving as the leading causes of visual impairment worldwide. Epigenetic clocks are generated based on DNA methylation (DNAm) levels and are considered one of the most promising predictors of biological age. This study aimed to investigate the bidirectional causal association between epigenetic clocks and common AREDs or glaucoma endophenotypes. Methods Instrumental variables for epigenetic clocks, AREDs, and glaucoma endophenotypes were obtained from corresponding genome-wide association study data of European descent. Bidirectional two-sample Mendelian randomization (MR) was employed to explore the causal relationship between epigenetic clocks and AREDs or glaucoma endophenotypes. Multivariable MR (MVMR) was used to determine whether glaucoma endophenotypes mediated the association of epigenetic clocks with glaucoma. Multiple sensitivity analyses were conducted to confirm the robustness of MR estimates. Results The results showed that an increased intrinsic epigenetic age acceleration (HorvathAge) was significantly associated with an increased risk of primary open-angle glaucoma (OR = 1.04, 95% CI 1.02 to 1.06, P = 6.1E−04). The epigenetic age acceleration (EEA) of HannumAge was related to a decreased risk of primary angle-closure glaucoma (OR = 0.92, 95% CI 0.86 to 0.99, P = 0.035). Reverse MR analysis showed that age-related cataract was linked to decreased HannumAge (β = −0.190 year, 95% CI −0.374 to −0.008, P = 0.041). The EEA of HannumAge (β = −0.85 μm, 95% CI −1.57 to −0.14, P = 0.019) and HorvathAge (β = −0.63 μm, 95% CI −1.18 to −0.08, P = 0.024) were associated with decreased central corneal thickness (CCT). PhenoAge was related to an increased retinal nerve fiber layer thickness (β = 0.06 μm, 95% CI 0.01 to 0.11, P = 0.027). MVMR analysis found no mediation effect of CCT in the association of HannumAge and HorvathAge with glaucoma. Abstract With their unique structural characteristics, customizable chemical composition, and adjustable functional characteristics, high‐entropy materials (HEMs) have triggered a wide range of interdisciplinary research, especially in the biomedical field. In this paper, the basic concept, core properties, and preparation methods of HEMs are first summarized, and then the application and development of HEMs in the field of biomedical are briefly described. Subsequently, based on the diverse and comprehensive properties of HEMs and a few reported cases, the possible application scenarios of HEMs in biological fields such as biosensors, antibacterial materials, therapeutics, bioimaging, and tissue engineering are prospectively predicted and discussed. Finally, their potential advantages and major challenges is summarized, which may provide useful guidance and principles for researchers to develop and optimize novel HEMs.

BackgroundTelemedicine provides remote health care services to overcome constraints of time and space in accessing medical care. Similarly, internet hospitals in China support and provide remote health care services. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there has been a proliferation of internet hospitals. Many new services, including online consultations and regular online follow-up visit services, can now be accessed via internet hospitals in China. However, the accessibility, cost, and quality advantages of regular online follow-up visit services remain unclear. ObjectiveThis study aimed to evaluate the accessibility, costs, and quality of an online regular follow-up visit service provided by an internet hospital in China. By analyzing the accessibility, costs, and quality of this service from the supply and demand sides, we can summarize the practical and theoretical experiences. MethodsA mixed methods study was conducted using clinical records from 18,473 patients receiving 39,239 online regular follow-up visit services at an internet hospital in 2021, as well as interviews with 7 physicians, 2 head nurses, and 3 administrative staff members. The quantitative analysis examined patient demographics, diagnoses, prescriptions, geographic distribution, physician characteristics, accessibility (travel time and costs), and service hours. The qualitative analysis elucidated physician perspectives on ensuring the quality of online health care. ResultsPatients were predominantly middle-aged men with chronic diseases like viral hepatitis who were located near the hospital. The vast majority were from Guangdong province where the hospital is based, especially concentrated in Guangzhou city. The online regular follow-up visit service reduced travel time by 1 hour to 9 hours and costs by ¥6 to ¥991 (US $0.86-$141.32) depending on proximity, with greater savings for patients farther from the hospital. Consultation times were roughly equivalent between online and in-person visits. Physicians provided most online services during lunch breaks (12 PM to 2 PM) or after work hours (7 PM to 11 PM), indicating increased workload. The top departments providing online regular follow-up visit services were Infectious Diseases, Rheumatology, and Dermatology. The most commonly prescribed medications aligned with the prevalent chronic diagnoses. To ensure quality, physicians conducted initial in-person consultations to fully evaluate patients before allowing online regular follow-up visits, during which they communicated with patients to assess conditions and determine if in-person care was warranted. They also periodically reminded patients to come in person for more comprehensive evaluations. However, they acknowledged online visits cannot fully replace face-to-face care. ConclusionsTelemedicine services such as online regular follow-up visit services provided by internet hospitals must strictly adhere to fundamental medical principles of diagnosis, prescription, and treatment. For patients with chronic diseases, online regular follow-up visit services improve accessibility and reduce cost but cannot fully replace in-person evaluations. Physicians leverage various strategies to ensure the quality of online care.

RING finger 187 (RNF187), a ubiquitin-ligating (E3) enzyme, plays a crucial role in the proliferation of cancer cells. However, it remains unclear whether RNF187 exhibits comparable functionality in the development of germline cells. To investigate the potential involvement of RNF187 in germ cell development, we conducted interference and overexpression assays using GC-2 cells, a mouse spermatocyte-derived cell line. Our findings reveal that the interaction between RNF187 and histone H3 increases the viability, proliferation, and migratory capacity of GC-2 cells. Moreover, we provide evidence demonstrating that RNF187 interacts with H3 and mediates the ubiquitination of H3 at lysine 57 (K57) or lysine 80 (K80), directly or indirectly resulting in increased cellular transcription. This is a study to report the role of RNF187 in maintaining the development of GC-2 cells by mediating histone H3 ubiquitination, thus highlighting the involvement of the K57 and K80 residues of H3 in the epistatic regulation of gene transcription. These discoveries provide a new theoretical foundation for further comprehensive investigations into the function of RNF187 in the reproductive system.

Rhubarb is widely used in health care, but causing a great amount of rhein-containing herbal residue. Rhein with several toxicities might pollute environment, damage ecology and even hazard human health if left untreated. In this study, the degradation effects of bisulfite- (BS) and peroxymonosulfate- (PMS) based oxidation systems on rhein in rhubarb residue were compared and investigated. The effects of BS and PMS with two valence states of ferric ion (Fe) on the degradation of rhein in rhubarb residue were optimized for the selection of optimal oxidation system. The influences of reaction temperature, reaction time and initial pH on the removal of rhein under the optimal oxidation system were evaluated. The chemical profiles of rhubarb residue with and without oxidation process were compared by UPLC-QTOF-MS/MS, and the degradation effects were investigated by PLS-DA and S plot/OPLS-DA analysis. The results manifested that PMS showed relative higher efficiency than BS on the degradation of rhein. Moreover, Fe(III) promoted the degradation effect of PMS, demonstrated that Fe(III)/PMS is the optimal oxidation system to degrade rhein in rhubarb residue. Further studies indicated that the degradation of rhein by the Fe(III)/PMS oxidation system was accelerated with the prolong of reaction time and the elevation of reaction temperature, and also affected by the initial pH. More importantly, Fe(III)/PMS oxidation system could degrade rhein in rhubarb residue completely under the optimal conditions. In conclusion, Fe(III)/PMS oxidation system is a feasible method to treat rhein in rhubarb residue.

Cerebrovascular accidents, also known as strokes, represent a major global public health challenge and contribute to substantial mortality, disability, and socioeconomic burden. Multidisciplinary approaches for poststroke therapies are crucial for recovering lost functions and adapting to new limitations. This review discusses the potential of neuromodulation techniques, repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS), transcranial direct current stimulation, spinal cord stimulation (SCS), vagus nerve stimulation (VNS), and deep brain stimulation (DBS), as innovative strategies for facilitating poststroke recovery. Neuromodulation is an emerging adjunct to conventional therapies that target neural plasticity to restore lost function and compensate for damaged brain areas. The techniques discussed in this review have different efficacies in enhancing neural plasticity, optimizing motor recovery, and mitigating poststroke impairments. Specifically, rTMS has shown significant promise in enhancing motor function, whereas SCS has shown potential in improving limb movement and reducing disability. Similarly, VNS, typically used to treat epilepsy, has shown promise in enhancing poststroke motor recovery, while DBS may be used to improve poststroke motor recovery and symptom mitigation. Further studies with standardized protocols are warranted to elucidate the efficacy of these methods and integrate them into mainstream clinical practice to optimize poststroke care.

In this study, gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) based dual wire additive manufacturing (D-WAAM) is adopted to fabricate the functionally graded material (FGM) from stainless steel (SS) 304 to Fe–40Al, using SS 304 and aluminum alloy (AA) 1070 wires. The Al/Fe atomic ratio varies from 0 to 40 % by varying the ratio of the wire feed speeds of the SS and AA wires. The chemical composition, phases, microstructure, and mechanical properties of the FGM are investigated. The results showed that with the increase of Al content, microstructures evolve as follows: γ-Fe → γ-Fe + α-Fe → α-Fe → Fe3Al → FeAl. Cracks occur in FeAl region, caused by the high stress and the low plasticity. Dislocation walls prevent the large grains from slipping, leading to the loss of plasticity. The microhardness of SS 304 to Fe–40Al FGM ranges from 188HV0.5 to 558HV0.5. As Al content increases, the ultimate compressive strength decreases from 1820 MPa to 1061 MPa. The results on microstructure and mechanical properties provide guidance for the preparation of steel - aluminum alloy FGMs.

Abstract Background The alkaloid camptothecin analog SN38 is a potent antineoplastic agent, but cannot be used directly for clinical application due to its poor water solubility. Currently, the prodrug approach on SN38 has resulted in 3 FDA-approved cancer therapeutics, irinotecan, ONIVYDE, and Trodelvy. However, only 2–8% of irinotecan can be transformed enzymatically in vivo into the active metabolite SN38, which severely limits the drug’s efficacy. While numerous drug delivery systems have been attempted to achieve effective SN38 delivery, none have produced drug products with antitumor efficacy better than irinotecan in clinical trials. Therefore, novel approaches are urgently needed for effectively delivering SN38 to cancer cells with better efficacy and lower toxicity. Methods Based on the unique properties of human serum albumin (HSA), we have developed a novel single protein encapsulation (SPE) technology to formulate cancer therapeutics for improving their pharmacokinetics (PK) and antitumor efficacy and reducing their side effects. Previous application of SPE technology to doxorubicin (DOX) formulation has led to a promising drug candidate SPEDOX-6 (FDA IND #, 152154), which will undergo a human phase I clinical trial. Using the same SPE platform on SN38, we have now produced two SPESN38 complexes, SPESN38-5 and SPESN38-8. We conducted their pharmacological evaluations with respect to maximum tolerated dose, PK, and in vivo efficacy against colorectal cancer (CRC) and soft tissue sarcoma (STS) in mouse models. Results The lyophilized SPESN38 complexes can dissolve in aqueous media to form clear and stable solutions. Maximum tolerated dose (MTD) of SPESN38-5 is 250 mg/kg by oral route (PO) and 55 mg/kg by intravenous route (IV) in CD-1 mice. SPESN38-8 has the MTD of 45 mg/kg by IV in the same mouse model. PK of SPESN38-5 by PO at 250 mg/kg gave mouse plasma AUC0-∞ of 0.05 and 4.5 nmol × h/mL for SN38 and SN38 glucuronidate (SN38G), respectively, with a surprisingly high molar ratio of SN38G:SN38 = 90:1. However, PK of SPESN38-5 by IV at 55 mg/kg yielded much higher mouse plasma AUC0-∞ of 19 and 28 nmol × h/mL for SN38 and SN38G, producing a much lower molar ratio of SN38G:SN38 = 1.5:1. Antitumor efficacy of SPESN38-5 and irinotecan (control) was evaluated against HCT-116 CRC xenograft tumors. The data indicates that SPESN38-5 by IV at 55 mg/kg is more effective in suppressing HCT-116 tumor growth with lower systemic toxicity compared to irinotecan at 50 mg/kg. Additionally, SPESN38-8 and DOX (control) by IV were evaluated in the SK-LMS-1 STS mouse model. The results show that SPESN38-8 at 33 mg/kg is highly effective for inhibiting SK-LMS-1 tumor growth with low toxicity, in contrast to DOX’s insensitivity to SK-LMS-1 with high toxicity. Conclusion SPESN38 complexes provide a water soluble SN38 formulation. SPESN38-5 and SPESN38-8 demonstrate better PK values, lower toxicity, and superior antitumor efficacy in mouse models, compared with irinotecan and DOX.

The purpose of this study is to explore a method for the high-yield production of hydrogen by pyrolysis and steam reforming of polymer plastics. The developed Fe-based catalyst supported on activated carbon was applied to reactions with polypropylene for hydrogen production. The effects of iron loading (%) in the catalyst, the total catalyst amount, and the water content in the reaction atmosphere on the performance of hydrogen and gas production were investigated. Under the optimal conditions, the hydrogen yield without water added reached 38.73 mmol/gPP, and this yield was significantly improved by adding water into the reaction atmosphere. By optimizing the amount of water added, the hydrogen yield reached 112.71 mmol/gPP. The surface morphology and structural components of the fresh and used catalysts were characterized, and the morphology and quantity of carbon deposition on the catalyst were analysed. The catalytic stability of the 15Fe/AC catalyst was determined by repeating the test 10 times under the optimal reaction conditions. As the reaction time increased, the selectivity of the catalyst for hydrogen decreased and that for hydrocarbons increased. Moreover, the experimental method used in this study had excellent hydrogen production capacity. Thus, this study provided a novel method for the high-efficiency production of hydrogen by pyrolysis and steam reforming of polymer plastics.

Abstract There is increasing evidence indicating the significant role of DDX5 (also called p68), acting as a master regulator and a potential biomarker and target, in tumorigenesis, proliferation, metastasis and treatment resistance for cancer therapy. However, DDX5 has also been reported to act as an oncosuppressor. These seemingly contradictory observations can be reconciled by DDX5’s role in DNA repair. This is because cancer cell apoptosis and malignant transformation can represent the two possible outcomes of a single process regulated by DDX5, reflecting different intensity of DNA damage. Thus, targeting DDX5 could potentially shift cancer cells from a growth-arrested state (necessary for DNA repair) to apoptosis and cell killing. In addition to the increasingly recognized role of DDX5 in global genome stability surveillance and DNA damage repair, DDX5 has been implicated in multiple oncogenic signaling pathways. DDX5 appears to utilize distinct signaling cascades via interactions with unique proteins in different types of tissues/cells to elicit opposing roles (e.g., smooth muscle cells versus cancer cells). Such unique features make DDX5 an intriguing therapeutic target for the treatment of human cancers, with limited low toxicity to normal tissues. In this review, we discuss the multifaceted functions of DDX5 in DNA repair in cancer, immune suppression, oncogenic metabolic rewiring, virus infection promotion, and negative impact on the human microbiome (microbiota). We also provide new data showing that FL118, a molecular glue DDX5 degrader, selectively works against current treatment-resistant prostate cancer organoids/cells. Altogether, current studies demonstrate that DDX5 may represent a unique oncotarget for effectively conquering cancer with minimal toxicity to normal tissues.

Abstract Background Gastric cancer is one of the leading causes of cancer-related deaths worldwide. In recent years, an increasing number of studies aimed at designing and developing nanomaterials for use in diagnosing and treating gastric cancer have been conducted. In this study, we aimed to comprehensively assess the current status and trends of the research on the application of nanomaterials in gastric cancer through a bibliometric analysis. Methods Studies focusing on nanomaterials and gastric cancer were retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection database and relevant articles were selected for inclusion in the study according to the inclusion criteria. Bibliometric and visual analysis of the included publications was performed using VOSviewer and CiteSpace. Results A total of 793 studies were included. An increase in annual publications was observed from 2004 to 2023. China, Iran and the USA were the dominant countries in this field, accounting for 66.1%, 11.5% and 7.2% of publications, respectively. Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Cui DX were the most influential institution and author, respectively. The International Journal of Nanomedicine was the most prolific journal; Biomaterials was the most cited and most cocited journal. Nanomaterial-related drug delivery and anticancer mechanisms were found to be the most widely researched aspects, and green synthesis and anticancer mechanisms are recent research hotspots. Conclusion In this study, we summarized the characteristics of publications and identified the most influential countries, institutions, authors, journals, hot topics and trends regarding the application of nanomaterials in gastric cancer. AIM: To investigate the effect of the expression of miR-375 on the proliferation and invasion of choroidal melanoma(CM)MUM-2B cells.METHODS: MUM-2B cells were cultured and were transfected with miR-375 mimic sequence(mimic group), miR-375 inhibitor sequence(inhibitor group), negative control group and no treatment(blank group). The qRT-PCR, CCK-8, apoptosis and Transwell experiments were used respectively to detect the expression of miR-375, cell proliferation activity, apoptosis, cell migration and invasion.RESULTS: Compared with the negative control group(1.01±0.10)and the blank group(1.03±0.07), the expression level of miR-375 in the cells of the mimic group(2.65±0.15)was increased, while the expression level of miR-375 in the cells of the inhibitor group(0.28±0.06)was decreased(P

Collective cell migration is an important process in cancer metastasis. Unlike single-cell migration, collective cell migration requires E-cadherin expression in the cell cohort. However, the mechanisms underlying cellular contact and focal adhesions remain unclear. In this study, Src was hypothesized to coordinate focal adhesion and Rab11-mediated E-cadherin distribution during collective cell migration. This study primarily used confocal microscopy to visualize the 3D structure of cell-cell contacts with associated molecules. These results demonstrate that the clinical Src inhibitor dasatinib was less toxic to HT-29 colon cancer cells; instead, the cells aggregated. 3D immunofluorescence imaging showed that Rab11 was localized with E-cadherin at the adherens junctions of the apical cell-cell contacts. In the transwell assay, Rab11 colocalized with a broad range of E-cadherin proteins in collectively migrated cells, and dasatinib treatment significantly suppressed collective cell migration. Transmission electron microscopy demonstrated that dasatinib treatment increased cell membrane protrusion contacts and generated spaces between cells, which may allow epidermal growth factor receptor activity at the cell-cell contacts. This study suggests that dasatinib treatment does not inhibit cell survival but targets Src at different cellular compartments in the coordination of focal adhesions and cell-cell contacts in collective cell migration through E-cadherin dynamics in colon cancer cells.

Spinal cord injury (SCI) is a severe central nervous system injury that can cause sensory or motor dysfunction. Although mortality rates for people with spinal cord injuries have dropped dramatically with advances in medicine, chronic long-term sequelae after SCI persist. The most bothersome problems reported by patients include pain, spasticity, urinary dysfunction, and loss of motor function. Thus, quality of life (QoL) is an essential issue in chronic SCI. Spinal cord stimulation (SCS) applies an adjustable, nondamaging electrical pulse that can reduce uncomfortable comorbidities and improve mobility, thus enhancing the QoL of patients with SCI. This review summarizes pivotal breakthroughs from SCS for individual clinical impairment from SCI. We conclude that careful evaluation of SCS can help improve neuropathic pain, spasms, motor symptoms, and voiding dysfunction in patients with SCI, thus improving QoL.

Traditional risk management methods focus on identifying,predicting and assessing potential risks.However,when enterprises are exposed to uncertainty and unexpected risks,traditional methods cannot deal with those risks.Therefore,the academia gradually shifts the perspective of risk management from predicting and avoiding risks to improving the ability of enterprises to withstand and recover from risks,that is,the enterprise resilience.This paper proposes a prediction method to predict the enterprise resilience based on temporal features,which utilizes Bi-LSTM to encode the temporal features to obtain the feature representation of every enterprise,and the classification results of enterprise resilience are obtained by a softmax classifier.The proposed method is validated on the real-world datasets from listed companies in China,and the macro-F1 value reaches 89.0%,which is improved compared with those models without considering temporal features,such as RF,XGBoost and LightGBM.This paper further discusses the importance of various factors that have an influence on the enterprise resilience.In this paper,the machine learning methods are applied to the evaluation and prediction of enterprise resilience for the first time,which provides theoretical and methodological guidance for enterprises to deal with unexpected risks.

The valid joining of aluminum and steel plays an important role in support structure of heat exchanger, which was widely used in chemical, automobile and aircraft industries, etc. In this work, in order to improve the connection of aluminum to steel joints, the friction stir welding (FSW) method was applied to weld a 3003 aluminum alloy to a 304 stainless steel. The microstructures, mechanical properties and fracture mechanism of FSWed joints were studied. The results showed that an optimal joint was obtained at the rotational speed of 200 rpm, the traverse speed of 30 mm/min and the offset of 3.0 mm. The distance of root incomplete penetration increased with the raise of offset and the rotational speed. The offset had a more significant effect on the microstructure of the welded joints compared with the rotational speed. Both the tensile property and the microhardness of the stir zone improved with the decrease of rotational speed at the offset of 3.0 mm. The FSWed joints firstly generated stress concentration at the weld root during loading. With the further increase of the load, the weld root cracked and finally broke in the stir zone.

In tumors, Heat shock protein HSP 90-alpha (Hsp90α) maintains the activity of over-activated or mutated signal transduction proteins and accelerates the malignant transformation of tumor cells. The extracellular Hsp90α interacts with client proteins resulting in promotion of tumor invasion and metastasis. This study investigated possible bioactive components of Smilax china L. and their effects on the interactions among tumor-associated proteins. We demonstrated that the protein Hsp90α, screened by combining transcriptome, proteomics and docking, could interact with the active compounds through microscale thermophoresis (MST), and Hsp90α could also interact with fatty acid synthase (FASN) and Vinculin. Meanwhile, scopolin could affect the interaction between Hsp90α and FASN. Animal experiments demonstrated that scopolin may have anticancer effect by affecting the stability of tumor-related proteins. Results showed that scopolin could interact with Hsp90α and inhibit the interactions between proteins, thereby against cancer.Practical applications.Smilax china L. has been reported to have an anti-tumor effect. This study shows that the bioactive ingredient scopolin from Smilax china L. can effectively inhibit the proliferation of hepatocellular carcinoma tumor cells, and can block the interaction between tumor-related protein Hsp90α and FASN. The results suggest that scopolin may be a potential cancer inhibitor that blocks the interactions of cancer-related proteins, which provides a potential basis for drug research and development for cancer that seriously puzzles human health.

The cytomembrane-derived delivery platform represents a promising biomimetic strategy in oncotherapy. To achieve durable and reliable tumor inhibition, mature dendrosomes (mDs), which were isolated from bone marrow-derived dendritic cells undergoing CT26 tumor antigen (TA) stimulation, were fused with redox-responsive nanoparticles (NPs) that were composed of poly(disulfide ester amide) polymers with an intensified disulfide density and hydrophobic oxaliplatin (OXA) prodrugs with the ability to potentiate immunogenicity. In vitro and in vivo results revealed that NP/mDs could induce tumor cell death through mitochondrial pathway and thus created immunogenic microenvironments, but also elicited immunocyte differentiation by TA cross-dressing and infiltration by direct presentation. By further neutralizing immune-regulatory interaction, the administration of PD-L1 antibody (αPD-L1) greatly improved antitumor efficiency of NP/mDs. Furthermore, the effectors of host immune systems effectively inhibited the growth and metastasis of distal tumors, likely because the autologous TA evoked by OXA and allogeneic TA delivered by mDs acted as additional stimuli to reinforce the immune response of tumor-specific T cells and immunosurveillance toward oncogenesis. These results demonstrated that NP/mDs could simultaneously realize immunogenic chemotherapeutics and specific TA delivery. In combination with αPD-L1, the antitumor effect was further enhanced. Therefore, NP/mDs provide a promising strategy for the comprehensive treatment of malignancy.
