The pH value, glucose content, glycolytic potential, and expression levels of five glycolytic enzymes in lamb longissimus dorsi muscle at different time after slaughter were compared and analyzed, which treated at different cooling rates and stored at different temperatures. The impact of two steps in the process of ultra-fast chilling on the expression levels of glycolytic enzymes was determined. The regulatory mechanism of ultra-fast chilling on the glycolytic rate was elucidated from the perspective of protein expression. The results showed that ultra-fast chilling treatment significantly delayed the decrease of pH and the increase of glycolytic rate, promoted the expression levels of aldolase (ALDOA), glycogen phosphorylase (PYGM), and triosephosphate isomerase (TPI1), and inhibited the expression levels of phosphofructokinase (PFKM) and phosphoglycerate kinase (PGK). After cooling treatment, refrigeration and controlled freezing-point storage delayed glycolysis by inhibiting the expression level of PGK, without altering the effect of ultra-fast chilling. The expression level of PFKM was positively correlated with the rate of glycolysis at different temperatures. It was found that different glycolytic enzymes had different responses to temperature changes. Ultra-fast chilling affected energy supply and demand by changing the expression of enzymes involved in glycolysis. The high expression level of PFKM was associated with fast glycolysis. PFKM can be regarded as a key enzyme in the ultra-fast chilling process.

The gait phase of dairy cows is an important indicator to reflect the severity of lameness. IThe accuracy of available gait segmentation methods was not enough for lameness detection. In this study, a gait phase recognition method based on Gaussian mixture model (GMM) and hidden Markov model (HMM) was proposed and tested. Firstly, wearable inertial sensors LPMS-B2 were used to collect the acceleration and angular velocity signals of cow hind limbs. In order to remove the noise of the system and restore the real dynamic data, Kalman filter was used for data preprocessing. The first-order difference of the angular velocity of the coronal axis was selected as the eigenvalue. Secondly, to analyze the long-term continuous recorded gait sequences of dairy cows, the processed data was clustered by GMM in the unsupervised way. The clustering results were taken as the input of the HMM, and the gait phase recognition of dairy cows was realized by decoding the observed data. Finally, the cow gait was segmented into 3 phases, including the stationary phase, standing phase and swing phase. At the same time, gait segmentation was achieved according to the standing phase and swing phase. The accuracy, recall rate and F1 of the stationary phase were 89.28%, 90.95% and 90.91%, respectively. The accuracy, recall rate and F1 of the standing phase recognition in continuous gait were 91.55%, 86.71% and 89.06%, respectively. The accuracy, recall rate and F1 of the swing phase recognition in continuous gait were 86.67%, 91.51% and 89.03%, respectively. The accuracy of cow gait segmentation was 91.67%, which was 4.23% and 1.1 % higher than that of the event-based peak detection method and dynamic time warping algorithm, respectively. The experimental results showed that the proposed method could overcome the influence of the cow's walking speed on gait phase recognition results, and recognize the gait phase accurately. This experiment provides a new method for the adaptive recognition of the cow gait phase in unconstrained environments. The degree of lameness of dairy cows can be judged by the gait features.

Weathering processes gradually alter the physical and mechanical attributes of slope materials, weakening the structural integrity and stability of slopes. This paper presents an in-depth analysis of slope stability in an open-pit mine, emphasizing the pivotal role of weathering effects in determining slope stability. To accurately capture the impact of weathering on slope stability, a comprehensive analysis model was developed, incorporating field observations, laboratory testing, and numerical simulations. The effects of weathering on the mechanical properties of black shale were studied through extensive laboratory tests. The uniaxial compressive strength, shear strength, and modulus of elasticity significantly decreased with increasing weathering, indicating a heightened vulnerability to slope failure. The correlation function between mechanical parameters and weathering time was obtained, providing the basis for evaluating the stability of mine slopes. It was found that more severe weathering conditions were strongly correlated with elevated risks of slope failure, including landslides and collapses. Based on these findings, practical recommendations are provided for slope reinforcement and management strategies, aimed at mitigating slope failure risks and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the mine. By incorporating weathering effects into slope stability analysis, mine operators can make informed decisions that account for the dynamic nature of slope materials and their susceptibility to weathering, thereby improving overall mine performance and safety. When modelling the anchorage performance of rebars with the tri-linear law, the calculation process of the load–deformation relation is complicated. The reason is that when the rebar–grout interface entered the elastic–softening–debonding stage, the softening section length and debonding section length vary simultaneously. To solve this issue, this paper proposes an enhanced numerical calculation method. When the rebar–grout interface entered the elastic–softening–debonding stage, the softening section length was fixed to a specific value. One loop function was created to calculate the debonding section length. With this method, the number of iteration calculations significantly decreased. The credibility of this calculation method was confirmed with experimental results. Two case studies were conducted to compare the load–deformation relation obtained with the original calculation method and enhanced calculation method. The results showed that good consistency existed between the results obtained by those two methods. This finding can significantly improve the calculation efficiency when studying the anchorage performance of rebars. Due to the intricate and volatile nature of the service environment surrounding prestressing anchoring materials, stress corrosion poses a significant challenge to the sustained stability of underground reinforcement systems. Consequently, it is imperative to identify effective countermeasures against stress corrosion failure in cable bolts within deep underground environments, thereby ensuring the safety of deep resource extraction processes. In this study, the influence of various coatings on the stress corrosion resistance of cable bolts was meticulously examined and evaluated using specifically designed stress-corrosion-testing systems. The specimens were subjected to loading using four-point bending frames and exposed to simulated underground corrosive environments. A detailed analysis and comparison of the failure patterns and mechanisms of specimens coated with different materials were conducted through the meticulous observation of fractographic features. The results revealed stark differences in the stress corrosion behavior of coated and uncoated bolts. Notably, epoxy coatings and chlorinated rubber coatings exhibited superior anti-corrosion capabilities. Conversely, galvanized layers demonstrated the weakest effect due to their sacrificial anti-corrosion mechanism. Furthermore, the effectiveness of the coatings was found to be closely linked to the curing agent and additives used. The findings provide valuable insights for the design and selection of coatings that can enhance the durability and reliability of cable bolts in deep underground environments. The gas sensing sensitivity and selectivity are optimized by modulating the concentration of p-type and n-type materials in n-SnO2/p-xCuO nanocomposites. With the increase of x value, the sensing performance of the n-SnO2/p-xCuO composites changed from n-type to p-type. Compared with pristine SnO2, the gas sensing response of SnO2–xCuO (x < 2.78) composites are lower; this can be explained by the opposite gas sensing behavior of SnO2 and CuO to CO and H2; CuO in the SnO2–xCuO (x < 2.78) composites will offset the reduction in the resistance of pristine SnO2. Compared other as-prepared SnO2–xCuO (x = 1.00, 2.33, 2.80, 3.00, 4.00) composites, the n-SnO2/p-2.78CuO composite (x = 2.78 is the critical value for the p–n transformation) shows the optimal sensing sensitivity and selectivity to CO and H2. The possible gas sensing mechanism for the optimization of the gas sensing performance of n-SnO2/p-2.78CuO composite was illustrated based on the results of gas sensing measurement and the results of XRD, TEM, HRTEM, EDS, and XPS characterization. This behavior can be explained by the following reasons, including plenty of p–n heterojunctions formed in the n-SnO2/p-2.78CuO composite, the numerous chemisorbed oxygen on the surface of the composite, and the 6 nm diameter of the nanoparticles. Cable-bolt failures due to stress corrosion cracking (SCC) could significantly compromise the sustainability and long-term stability of underground constructions. To fully understand the SCC of cable bolts, a two-step methodology was implemented: (i) long-term cable-bolt coupon tests using mineralogical materials collected from underground mines; and (ii) accelerated full-scale cable-bolt tests using an acidified solution. In the long-term tests, a novel three-point bending coupon was designed. The effects of mineralogical materials on SCC were evaluated under the simulated underground bolting conditions through the application of "corrosion cells". For accelerated tests, SCC resistance of different type of cable bolts was examined using the new designed tensile-loading apparatus under the periodically increasing strain-rate loading mechanism. It was identified that mineralogical materials and applied stress intensity accelerated the corrosion process of the cable bolts. The number of wires and wire surface conditions in different types of cable bolt directly affected SCC susceptibility. The cable bolts with a greater number of wires provided higher resistance to SCC. The developed experimental methodologies can be applied to study SCC in other reinforcement materials and the results can be used to design optimal support systems in different environmental and geotechnical conditions.
