Ternary hybrid nanofluid flow over a wedge surface facilitates optimization, promotes industrial processes such as heat transfer, temperature regulation, material compatibility, energy efficiency and is very useful in equipment design. Due to this attention the current study focalizes the heat diffusion and mass transportation in ternary hybrid (TiO2-AL2O3-SiO2) nanofluid flow over a stretching/shrinking wedge geometry. Additionally, Ternary hybrid flow is examined under the impact of activation energy together with chemical reactions. The nanofluid flow process is structured using Modified Boungiorno Model together with framed set of partial differential equation (PDEs). The resulting systems is altered into non dimensional form of ordinary differential equation (ODEs) using transform functions and linearization is obtained through shooting technique. MATLAB bvp4c solver scheme is utilized for numerical findings of the problem. Influence of key parameters are analyzed on velocity, temperature, and concentration field. Fluid concentration intensifies via augmentation in activation rate whereas wedge stretching due to larger values of wedge angle, lessens velocity of fluid. The present work studies the effects of the physical parameter characterizing the laminar flow regime, namely the Strouhal number, on the evolution of the unsteady dynamic boundary-layer developed along a wedge surface. Similarity method is used to transform unsteady momentum equation to dimensionless form. Using superposition method between diffusion and convective flows solutions, an ad hoc velocity profile formula is proposed. The obtained results confirm perfectly the numerical data given by Blasius, Falkner-Skan and Williams-Rhyne for all Strouhal numbers. A new accurate analytical function of the local skin friction is established for all time values and for different wedge surface directions. In order to give further clarification on the flows evolutions from diffusion flow to convective flow, in the whole space domain, new skin friction coefficient curves are plotted for all Strouhal numbers and for different wedge surface directions.

In this research, a theoretical investigation into the heat transport characteristics of an Eyring–Powell nanomaterial boundary layer flow on a wedge surface with passively controlled nanoparticles is carried out. In this model, thermal convective boundary conditions, thermal radiation, heat production, and absorption are also studied. The non-Newtonian Eyring–Powell fluid’s features are predicted using the model under consideration. The Buongiorno model is used to study how a temperature gradient affects thermophoresis and how nanoparticles affect the Brownian motion. The prevailing nonlinear boundary layer equations are derived and then renewed in an ordinary differential boundary value problem (ODBVP) by substituting apt similarity transformations. The acquired nonlinear ODBVP is then resolved using the bvp4c method to explore the fields of nanofluid velocity, nanofluid temperature, and nanoparticle concentration. A mathematical examination of the surface drag force coefficients and Nusselt number is carried out using various physical parameters. The Eyring–Powell fluid parameter (K1) reduces the thickness of the momentum boundary layer thickness. The thermophoresis aspect (Nt) enhances the thermal field and solutal field. The Nusselt number (NuRex−0.5) reduces the need for a stronger internal heat source mechanism.

Numerical investigation of the three-dimensional flow and heat transfer of 36 nm Al 2 O 3 –H 2 O nanoliquid over a wedge surface is carried out by utilizing the modified Buongiorno model (MBM). The boundary layer approximation is assumed to be valid. The thermophysical properties of Al 2 O 3 –H 2 O nanoliquid are deliberated in the study by modeling them through the use of correlations based on experimental data. The thermal boundary layer equation comprises the Brownian motion and thermo-migration effects caused by nanoparticles. Zero mass flux boundary condition is also accounted. Optimization of the heat transfer rate of nanoliquid is made using the Response surface methodology (RSM). Two stream functions are used to derive the similarity transformations and they are employed to arrive nonlinear ordinary differential system from the governing partial differential system, and then the subsequent nonlinear problem is treated numerically using the Finite Element Method (FEM). The heat flow features are scrutinized using two-dimensional, surface, and streamline plots. The results of flow due to a moving wedge in the same direction of free stream velocity are compared with those of a moving wedge in the opposite direction of free stream velocity. The thermal layer and nanoparticles volume fraction layers are enlarged due to the chaotic movement of nanoparticles. The thermophoresis mechanism improves the thermal layer at the wedge surface. The high level of pressure gradient factor, high level of shear-to-strain rate and low level of Lewis number, were found to be the optimal operating condition that would maximize the heat transfer rate. This paper is devoted to mathematical analysis of three-dimensional boundary-layer flow and heat transfer over a wedge. The boundary layer is formed due to the flow of a viscous and incompressible fluid and grows downstream along the walls of the wedge. This is appropriately approximated by a power of distances along both lateral directions. This analysis introduces a shear-to-strain-rate parameter γ in the study which plays an essential role in three-dimensional boundary-layer study. A set of boundary-layer equations along with the conservation of energy has been transformed into a coupled nonlinear ordinary differential equations. Two methods are employed. The fluid–wedge interaction problem is solved in the circumstances where the equations are linearized and obtained the solutions in terms of confluent hypergeometric functions, and otherwise, the full-nonlinear problem numerically using the Keller-box method. In the former case, the results of eigenfunction analysis that is based on asymptotic study of the problem qualitatively support the latter numerical results. In either methods, the existence of solutions and range of parameter domain depending on various physical quantities is successfully analyzed. The two different approaches give good agreement with each other in predicting the velocity and temperature profiles in three-dimensional boundary layer. However, both approaches show that a solution to the problem exist only - 1 < γ < ∞ . Since the Reynolds number is asymptotically large, the flow clearly divides into two regions showing the effects of viscosity and thermal conductivity. The velocity and thermal profiles are found to be benign. Flow always attached to the wedge surfaces and, thus, related thicknesses are becoming thinner. The three-dimensional magneto-dynamics of viscous fluids have a wide range of applications in engineering and industry, including turbine bodies, heat exchangers, drying technology, and flow on arrow wings. Therefore, the three-dimensional flow of water containing 29 nm cupric nanomaterials on a wedge-shaped surface is studied using the magnetic field, Joule heating, and frictional heating effects. The slip conditions for thermal and solutal fields are taken into account. The Li & Peterson model is considered for the thermal conductivity of the CuO-H 2 O nanoliquid, which is a function of the temperature and volume of the nanoparticles, while the experimental model of dynamic viscosity is considered. The Modified Buongiorno Model (MBM) is used, which consists of effective thermophysical properties of nanoliquids, and the mechanisms of chaotic movement and thermo-migration of nanoparticles. Nonlinear governing problem is solved by the finite element method (FEM). The heat transfer and mass transfer rates are optimized by applying the response surface methodology (RSM). The thermal boundary layer attempts to adhere to the surface of the wedge surface for a greater magnitude of the shear-strain rate factor. Furthermore, the reduced Nusselt number is greatest in the absence of a friction heating mechanism through the system compared to its presence. The optimum condition for higher heat and mass transfer takes place at Nb = 0.2131, Nt = 0.1 and δ T = 0.1 having a maximum heat transfer rate of 2.4658 and a maximum mass transfer rate of 2.8233 [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
