Abstract Objective To evaluate the prognostic importance of sex in lupus nephritis (LN). Methods A retrospective cohort of 1048 biopsy-confirmed LN patients, diagnosed between January 1, 1996, and December 31, 2018, was analyzed. Demographics, clinical characteristics, laboratory findings, and renal pathology were assessed. The primary outcome was mortality, and the secondary outcomes included doubling of serum creatinine and end-stage renal disease (ESRD). Sex-associated risks were evaluated using Cox regression models. Results Among the1048 patients, 178 (17%) were male and 870 (83%) were female. Male patients exhibited more aggressive features: higher blood pressure, earlier disease onset, and elevated levels of serum creatinine (Scr), uric acid, blood urea nitrogen. Intriguingly, male patients also displayed more severe histopathological alterations, such as more total crescents, cellular crescents formations, higher level of glomerular leukocyte infiltration and Activity Index (AI), even when overall renal pathology was comparable between sexes. During a median follow-up of 112 months, mortality was registered in 141 patients (15.3%). Mortality rates were conspicuously higher in males (24.2% males vs. 13.4% females, p = 0.0029). Secondary outcomes did not show significant sex differences. Cox regression analysis highlighted male, age of renal biopsy, eGFR, and Chronicity Index (CI) as independent risk factors for survival in LN patients. Notably, infections emerged as the leading cause of mortality among LN patients, with a significant higher rate in male patients. Conclusion In our cohort with LN, there was a higher rate of all-cause mortality and proportion of infection-related death in male. Recognizing and further exploring these sex disparities is crucial for optimized LN patients care. Graphical Abstract

For the deep reinforcement learning (DRL)-empowered intelligent jamming, an anti-jamming strategy aided by sample information entropy was proposed. Firstly, the anti-jamming strategy network and entropy prediction network were designed based on neural networks. Then, the anti-jamming strategy network and entropy prediction network were trained with the samples of the spectrum waterfall, which were formed by performing the short-time Fourier transform to the received signals. The information entropy prediction network was utilized for fine-grained selection of training samples of the anti-jamming strategy network to improve the quality of training samples, thereby enhancing the ultimate online decision-making capability and generalization performance of the anti-jamming strategy. The simulation results indicate that under the extreme condition where the jamming strategy update frequency does not exceed forty times that of the communication anti-jamming strategy and the maximum number of jamming channels is 3, the proposed anti-jamming strategy, aided by sample information entropy, can still achieve a success rate of at least 61%. Moreover, compared to several other anti-jamming strategies, the proposed strategy demonstrates faster convergence.

To accelerate the construction of secure, green, and intelligent granaries and to enhance the level of modern management, green grain storage technologies have ushered in new developments under the backdrop of technological empowerment and the vigorous development of new production forces. This study took Wuhan National Rice Trading Center Co., Ltd. as an example reviewed and evaluated three new temperature control technologies, including photovoltaic off grid power supply technology air conditioning system, vertical thermal cortex temperature control technology in grain silos, zero energy radiation refrigeration technology, and three new insect control and insecticidal technologies by using spinosad, S-methoprene or food grade inert powder. Additionally, it was recommended to take the thermal insulation and cold insulation measures of the warehouse as the basis for the transformation of quasi low temperature warehouses, and use green grain storage technologies as the main means, such as air conditioning temperature control technology or modified atmosphere storage technology. The above new green grain storage technologies should be comprehensively applied to meet the requirements of quasi low temperature grain storage, non-fumigation grain storage, and smart grain storage. This study aimed to provide relevant references for grain storage enterprises to carry out research on the application of green grain storage new technologies.

Objective In the geological survey for Guiyang urban rail transit projects, karst is a common unfavorable geological condition and also the top geological issue to be confronted. However, the current survey mode of karst problems does not match the demand of Guiyang urban rail transit construction. Therefore, it is necessary to explore a karst survey mode applicable for urban rail transit construction in karst mountainous city. Method Starting from the karst hazards, the technical means, normative constrains and the actual experience from Guiyang City about karst survey are summarized and analyzed. It is then clearly pointed out that the current karst survey mode with “engineering geological mapping first, engineering drilling as the main method, engineering geophysical prospecting as the secondary method” is formed in the course of history, the situation where the contradiction between high resolution requirements and low resolution levels of the karst survey method becomes the principal one in current mountain karst survey for rail transit is discussed. Result & Conclusion Starting from the main contradiction in the current karst survey, and based on the development of technical means in karst survey and specific case analysis, it is concluded through research that the above-mentioned karst survey mode will inevitably evolve into a new survey mode of “starting from engineering needs and guided by geological thinking, with geological mapping first, ground geophysical survey, drilling and borehole geophysical prospecting as supplement and verification, featuring multi-method integration”.

Abstract [Objective] The study aims to provide a theoretical basis for potato disease resistance breeding by investigating the characteristics of the potato defensin gene StPSK4 and conducting a functional analysis of its role in potato disease resistance. [Methods] The authors utilized bioinformatics method for a systematic analysis of StPSK4, and conduct transcriptome sequencing analysis to examine the tissue-specific expression pattern of StPSK4 under biotic and abiotic stress, assessing the plant innate immune response to Pseudomonas syringae in StPSK4 overexpressing plants. [Results] The full length CDS of StPSK4 was 457 bp, encoding 100 amino acids. StPSK4 contained a signal peptide, with its tertiary structure mainly composed of α-helices and random coils. The C-terminus of PSK4 contains the defensin sequence DYIYTQ, and the similarity between StPSK4 and Solanaceae crops was above 80%. StPSK4 was highly expressed in potato sprouts and petioles, and showed strong response to biotic and abiotic stress such as high temperature, salt, P . syringae, and Phytophthora infestans. Overexpression of StPSK4 suppressed ROS burst in potato and defensed marker gene expression, and enhanced resistance to P . syringae. [Conclusion] StPSK4 responds to various stress conditions such as high temperature and bacterial wilt infestans. Overexpression of StPSK4 inhibits ROS burst, defense marker gene expression, and resistance to bacterial wilt in potato, confirming the suppressive role of StPSK4 in potato disease resistance.

Objective To investigate the long-term efficacy of amygdala-hippocampus deep brain stimulation (AH - DBS) in treating refractory medial temporal lobe epilepsy (mTLE) and its impact on cognitive function. Methods Seven patients with refractory mTLE who were treated at The First Medical Center of Chinese PLA General Hospital from January 2014 to December 2018 were enrolled in this study. All 7 patients underwent AH -DBS. Seizure types, seizure frequency, and antiepileptic seizure medicine (ASM) usage were compared before and after surgery. Cognitive function was assessed using Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale - Revised (WAIS - R). Post - operative stimulation parameters and surgery - related complications were recorded. Results Of the 7 patients, 4 patients received bilateral AH-DBS, 2 patients received left AH - DBS, and one patient received left AH - DBS combined with right anterior temporal lobectomy. There were 6 patients underwent the occipital approach, and one patient underwent the frontal approach. Only one patient experienced poor healing of the scalp incision, which healed after local skin grafting. The mean follow-up period was (73.00 ± 8.98) months. During the follow-up period, there were reductions in complex partial seizure (CPS) frequency [1.00 (0.00, 31.00) times per month vs. 2.00 (1.50, 60.00) times per month; Z = - 2.207, P = 0.027], secondary generalized tonic - clonic seizure (SGTCS) frequency [0.00 (0.00, 1.00) times per month vs. 2.00 (1.00, 3.00) times per month; Z = - 2.428, P = 0.015], and the total seizure frequency [1.00 (0.50, 31.00) times per month vs. 5.00 (2.50, 64.00) times per month; Z = - 2.366, P = 0.018]. However, there were no significant differences in the number of ASM types [1.00 (1.00, 2.00) types vs. 1.00 (1.00, 3.00) types; Z = - 1.633, P = 0.102] or WAIS-R [(85.50 ± 7.09) scores vs. (89.00 ± 9.47) scores; t = - 1.761, P = 0.078] before and after surgery. Conclusions As a novel anti - epileptic treatment method, AH-DBS can reduce the frequency of refractory mTLE without serious adverse events and has no significant impact on cognitive function.

Malignant insulinoma is a kind of rare and challenging neuroendocrine tumor. It is often accompanied by distant metastasis, among which liver metastasis is most common, and the prognosis is often non-promising. In this paper, we report a case of multiple liver metastases from malignant insulinoma. The patient, a 70-year-old male, was admitted to the hospital due to "episodic consciousness disorder for more than four months." Blood glucose monitoring revealed recurrent hypoglycemia in the early morning, after meals, and at night. Pancreatic perfusion CT and dynamic enhanced MRI of the liver revealed a mass in the uncinate process of the pancreatic head and multiple liver metastases. Percutaneous liver biopsy confirmed the diagnosis of insulinoma. After multidisciplinary discussions, hepatic artery embolization and radiofrequency ablation were performed in stages, in combination with everolimus treatment. Thereafter, the enhanced CT demonstrated that some liver metastases shrank. The patient had regular meals, and the blood sugar gradually increased and remained normal thereafter. This article discusses this case's clinical characteristics and multidisciplinary collaborative diagnosis and treatment, aiming to provide experience for the comprehensive clinical diagnosis and treatment of malignant insulinoma patients.

[Objective] The study aims to explore the physiological mechanism of different grafting patterns in alleviating the low temperature stress of melon (Cucumis melo L.) seedlings, in order to provide a theoretical basis for selecting appropriate grafting patterns to improve the resistance of melon to low temperature. [Methods] Taking the thick and thin skin melon varieties as scions, respectively, and the white seed pumpkin as a rootstock, with the self-rooted melon seedling as control, the effects of double root, adhering, and attaching grafting patterns on the photosynthetic pigment content, photosynthetic gas exchange parameters, cell membrane permeability, and antioxidant enzyme activity of leaves of melon seedlings were studied under three treatments, including before low temperature (15 ℃/10 ℃), low temperature, and after low temperature treatment (rewarming treatment). [Results] (1) The photosynthetic pigment content and photosynthetic gas exchange parameters of leaves of the grafted seedlings of various melon varieties were decreased under low temperature treatment; these physiological parameters were increased after rewarming treatment, among which the attaching grafted seedling had the lowest decrease and the highest increase. (2) The relative conductivity, malondialdehyde content, hydrogen peroxide content, and superoxide anion production rate in leaves of the grafted seedlings of all melon varieties were increased under low temperature treatment, and were decreased under rewarming treatment, among which the attaching grafted seedlings had the lowest increase and the highest decrease. (3) The activities of superoxide dismutase, peroxidase, and catalase in leaves of the grafted seedlings of all melon varieties were increased under low temperature, and were increased under rewarming treatment, and the attaching grafted seedlings had the most significant increase. [Conclusion] The three grafting patterns enhance the activities of antioxidant enzymes of thick-skinned and thin-skinned melon seedlings under low temperature stress and rewarming, and effectively reduce the accumulation of reactive oxygen species, maintain the photosynthetic capacity of seedlings, and improve low temperature tolerance of seedlings. The attaching grafting has the best performance.

Artemisinin and its derivatives are widely recognized as first-line treatments for malaria worldwide. Recent studies have demonstrated that artemisinin-based antimalarial drugs, such as artesunate, dihydroartemisinin, and artemether, not only possess excellent antimalarial properties but also exhibit antitumor, antifungal, and immunomodulatory effects. Researchers globally have synthesized artemisinin derivatives like SM735, SM905, and SM934, which offer advantages such as low toxicity, high bioavailability, and potential immunosuppressive properties. These compounds induce immunosuppression by inhibiting the activation of pathogenic T cells, suppressing B cell activation and antibody production, and enhancing the differentiation of regulatory T cells. This review summarized the mechanisms by which artemisinin and its analogs modulate excessive inflammation and immune responses in rheumatic and skeletal diseases, autoimmune inflammatory diseases, and autoimmune disorders, through pathways including TNF, Toll-like receptors, IL-6, RANKL, MAPK, PI3K/AKT/mTOR, JAK/STAT, and NRF2/GPX4. Notably, in the context of the NF-κB pathway, artemisinin not only inhibits NF-κB expression by disrupting upstream cascades and/or directly binding to NF-κB but also downregulates multiple downstream genes controlled by NF-κB, including inflammatory chemokines and their receptors. These downstream targets regulate various immune cell functions, apoptosis, proliferation, signal transduction, and antioxidant responses, ultimately intervening in systemic autoimmune diseases and autoimmune responses in organs such as the kidneys, nervous system, skin, liver, and biliary system by modulating immune dysregulation and inflammatory responses. Ongoing multicenter randomized clinical trials are investigating the effects of these compounds on rheumatic, inflammatory, and autoimmune diseases, with the aim of translating promising preclinical data into clinical applications.

Aiming at the problems of unbalanced inter-modal optimization and inadequate fusion of multimodal features in multimodal sentiment analysis, a multimodal sentiment analysis model combining dynamic gradient mechanism and multi-view co-attention mechanism (DG-MCM) is proposed, which can effectively mine single-modal representation and fully integrate multimodal information. Firstly, the model uses pre-trained model BERT (bidirectional encoder representation from transformers) and stacked long short-term memory (SLSTM) to learn the features of text, audio and video, and proposes a dynamic gradient mechanism. By monitoring the contribution difference and learning speed of each mode, the feature learning of each mode is assisted. Secondly, the features of different modes obtained are fused using the multi-view co-attention mechanism. By projecting every two modes into multiple spaces for interaction, more adequate fusion features are obtained. Finally, fusion features and single-modal features are spliced together for sentiment prediction. Experimental results on CMU-MOSI and CMU-MOSEI datasets show that this model can fully learn information between single mode and different modes, and effectively improve the accuracy of multimodal sentiment analysis.

【Objective】 Water ascent in plant is driven by water evaporation from leaves, influenced by meteorological factors. Understanding its variation with these factors is important to unveil the mechanisms underlying plant transpiration. This paper is to investigate the correlation between sap flow and meteorological factors in a plantation located in the Chaohe mountain area. 【Method】 The experimental site is at the Dadaigou Experimental Station in Fengning County. Sap flow from May to October in different tree species including Larix principis-rupprechtii, Pinus tabulaeformis and Hippophae rhamnoides, was measured using the Granier-type thermal dissipation probe. Meteorological data measured during the same period were used to analyze their impact on the sap flows. 【Result】 ① In sunny days, sap flow measured in all species increased in daytime and decreased in evening; it was larger in sunny days than in rainy days. Sap flow in Hippophae rhamnoides was faster and more sensitive to rainfall than other two species. ② Hourly sap flow in all species was positively correlated to atmospheric temperature (Ta), vapor pressure deficit (VPD), net radiation (Rn) and wind velocity (W), and negatively correlated to rainfall and relative humidity (Rh). Rn is the factor affecting sap flow most, followed by VPD, Ta and Rh. ③ Daily sap flow in Larix principis-rupprechtii, Pinus tabulaeformis and Hippophae rhamnoides was 2.78, 1.44 and 5.27 mL/(cm2·h) separately, affected significantly by Rn, VPD and Ta. ④ There was a significant delay in the response of sap flow to changes in meteorological factors for all three species, with the response to changes in VPD and Rn delayed by 20 min and 60 min for Larix principis-rupprechtii, 40 min and 50 min for Pinus tabulaeformis, and 20 min and 50 min for Hippophae rhamnoides, respectively. 【Conclusion】 The meteorological factors that affect sap flow in the three species in the Chaohe mountain area were net radiation (Rn) and vapor pressure deficit (VPD). There was a significant delay in the response of sap flow to changes in meteorological factors. Studying plant transpiration and its variation with meteorological factors should consider such a delay.

Traditional pancreatobiliary endoscopy surgery is limited by the fact that capturing image information is time-consuming, inefficient, and susceptible to the level of the practitioner. Artificial intelligence, however, provides an efficient and accurate method of automatic image recognition for pancreaticobiliary endoscopic surgery, thus assisting clinicians to achieve rapid and accurate clinical predictions and guiding clinical decision-making. Moreover, artificial intelligence has great potential for applications in many aspects such as quality control and training of procedure. This paper provides an overview of the current status and research progress in the application of artificial intelligence in pancreatic and biliary endoscopic techniques, with the hope of offering new ideas and methods for improving the current clinical diagnosis and treatment pattern and realizing precision medicine for pancreatobiliary diseases.

Abstract Extensive research has focused on the impact of weather on working capacity and income. However, in regions where income data largely relies on surveys, a pivotal yet underexplored question is whether weather not only influence real income but also introduce biases into survey-collected income data. We analyze longitudinal data from the China Health and Nutrition Survey and corresponding weather records from the Global Surface Summary of the Day, and uncover a negative correlation between survey-day temperature and self-reported annual income from the previous year. With a series of robustness checks, we confirm that the effect is primarily driven by behavioral factors rather than actual income changes. And threshold regression analyses show that the impact of temperature is more pronounced on hot days and relatively subdued or even reversed on cooler days. Further analyses indicate that mood, rather than cognitive capacity, plays a central role in causing the observed downward bias.

Abstract Background Previous randomized controlled trials (RCTs) suggested that gut microbiota-based therapies may be effective in treating autoimmune diseases, but a systematic summary is lacking. Methods Pubmed, EMbase, Sinomed, and other databases were searched for RCTs related to the treatment of autoimmune diseases with probiotics from inception to June 2022. RevMan 5.4 software was used for meta-analysis after 2 investigators independently screened literature, extracted data, and assessed the risk of bias of included studies. Results A total of 80 RCTs and 14 types of autoimmune disease [celiac sprue, SLE, and lupus nephritis (LN), RA, juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA), spondyloarthritis, psoriasis, fibromyalgia syndrome, MS, systemic sclerosis, type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1DM), oral lichen planus (OLP), Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis] were included. The results showed that gut microbiota-based therapies may improve the symptoms and/or inflammatory factor of celiac sprue, SLE and LN, JIA, psoriasis, PSS, MS, systemic sclerosis, Crohn’s disease, and ulcerative colitis. However, gut microbiota-based therapies may not improve the symptoms and/or inflammatory factor of spondyloarthritis and RA. Gut microbiota-based therapies may relieve the pain of fibromyalgia syndrome, but the effect on fibromyalgia impact questionnaire score is not significant. Gut microbiota-based therapies may improve HbA1c in T1DM, but its effect on total insulin requirement does not seem to be significant. These RCTs showed that probiotics did not increase the incidence of adverse events. Conclusions Gut microbiota-based therapies may improve several autoimmune diseases (celiac sprue, SLE and LN, JIA, psoriasis, fibromyalgia syndrome, PSS, MS, T1DM, Crohn’s disease, and ulcerative colitis).

Objective Endobutton technique could provide flexible coracoclavicular (CC) stabilization for acromioclavicular joint (ACJ) dislocation and achieved good clinical outcomes. However, the difficult part of this technique was placement of the Endobutton to the coracoid base. In this study, we designed an Endobutton installation device to place the Endobutton at the coracoid base. And we examined the clinical and radiographic outcomes of patients with acute Rockwood type III ACJ dislocation repaired with Endobutton using this device. Methods We designed an Endobutton installation device to place the Endobutton at the coracoid base to achieve CC stabilization. We retrospectively reviewed 42 patients with acute Rockwood type III ACJ dislocation who underwent CC stabilization with Endobuttons placed either using this novel device (group I, n = 19) or the traditional technique (CC stabilization without using special device, group II, n = 23) from January 2015 to April 2020. The two groups were compared regarding the operative time, intraoperative blood loss, and clinical and radiologic outcomes at final follow‐up. The operation‐related complications were also evaluated. The Student's t test and the Mann–Whitney U‐test were used to compare differences in continuous variables. Differences in categorical variables were assessed with either the Pearson's chi‐squared test or Fisher's exact test. Results Forty‐two patients were clinically followed up for a minimum of 12 months. Objective: To explore the effect of Gouqi Nuzhen Liuhe Decoction (GNLHD) on the PI3K/mTOR Signaling Pathway for Premature Ovarian Insufficiency (POI) based on system pharmacology. Methods: First, the system pharmacology approach was used to predict the mechanism of GNLHD. Then, mice were randomly divided into model group, positive group, GNLHD high-dose group, GNLHD medium-dose group, and GNLHD low-dose group. Hematoxylin-eosin (HE) staining was used to observe the pathological changes of ovarian tissue under light microscope. The expression levels of estradiol (E2), follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH) were detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. The expressions of PI3K, AKT1 and mTOR proteins in ovarian tissue were detected by immunohistochemistry. Results: The results of system pharmacology showed that GNLHD may regulate biological processes and signaling pathways such as: reproductive structure development, reproductive system development, Oocyte meiosis and so on. The volume sweep coefficient is essential for evaluating the development effect and formulating development adjustment plans for oil fields. This paper aims to study the variation law of volume sweep coefficient in different stages of water injection development. From the perspective of the injection pore volume multiple， a calculation model is built of displacement efficiency and injection pore volume multiple， and a calculation method of volume sweep coefficient is proposed based on oil-water relative flow theory and reservoir engineering principle. In addition， three test areas of Shengli Oilfield are taken as examples for calculation and analysis. The results show that the relationship between the displacement efficiency and the injection pore volume multiple satisfies an exponential equation， and the relationship curve between the two is upward convex. As the injection pore volume multiple increases， the displacement efficiency gradually increases from the minimum displacement efficiency and approaches the maximum displacement efficiency. The displacement efficiency calculation model is verified， and the average relative error between the predicted and measured values is only 1.90%. During the water flooding development， the relationship curve between the volume sweep coefficient and the injection pore volume multiple shows an evolution trend of fast rising， slow rising， and near platform. The calculation results can guide the effect evaluation of development adjustment measures. At present， the volume sweep coefficient of the three test areas is about 90%. There is a large amount of remaining oil in the swept area. It is urgent to study the description and start-up method of the main remaining oil in the swept area.

Objective To investigate the needs of eight-year program clinical medical students for the organization and contents of clinical oncology courses. Methods From September to November 2020, a questionnaire survey was conducted among eight-year program clinical medicine students in Peking Union Medical College to find out their knowledge base in oncology, teaching mode preference and course contents of interest. Results A total of 122 students participated in the survey, in which 89.3%(109/122) of the students showed interest in basic and clinical research projects related to oncology, 84.4%(103/122) thought it was better to use Simulation-based medical education (SBME), and 91.0%(111/122) hoped to learn throughoff-line discussion. In terms of course contents, eight-year program medical students were more interested in knowledge directly related to clinical context, such as diagnosis, treatment, multidisciplinary comprehensive treatment and evidence-based medicine. In terms of sub-analysis, traditional eight-year students (86%, 92/107) showed a higher acceptance of palliative care than students in the 4+4 reform program(60%, 9/15) and were more willing to act as scriptwriters in SBME(26% vs. 7%, P=0.013). The students in clinical phase gained a better understanding of oncology knowledge through research training and were more inclined to take on the role of scriptwriters in SBME than those in basic phase (27% vs. 11%, P=0.048). Conclusions The eight-year program clinical medical students are interested in the clinical oncology course and prefer study in the form of Simulation-based medical education (SBME).

Abstract To explore the molecular network mechanism of Celastrol in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) based on a novel strategy (integrated systems pharmacology, proteomics, transcriptomics and single-cell transcriptomics). Firstly, the potential targets of Celastrol and RA genes were predicted through the database, and the Celastrol-RA targets were obtained by taking the intersection. Then, transcriptomic data and proteomic data of Celastrol treatment of RA were collected. Subsequently, Celastrol-RA targets, differentially expressed genes, and differentially expressed proteins were imported into Metascape for enrichment analysis, and related networks were constructed. Finally, the core targets of Celastrol-RA targets, differentially expressed genes, and differentially expressed proteins were mapped to synoviocytes of RA mice to find potential cell populations for Celastrol therapy. A total of 195 Celastrol-RA targets, 2068 differential genes, 294 differential proteins were obtained. The results of enrichment analysis showed that these targets, genes and proteins were mainly related to extracellular matrix organization, TGF-β signaling pathway, etc. The results of single cell sequencing showed that the main clusters of these targets, genes, and proteins could be mapped to RA synovial cells. For example, Mmp9 was mainly distributed in Hematopoietic cells, especially in Ptprn+fibroblast. The results of molecular docking also suggested that Celastrol could stably combine with molecules predicted by network pharmacology. In conclusion, this study used systems pharmacology, transcriptomics, proteomics, single-cell transcriptomics to reveal that Celastrol may regulate the PI3K/AKT signaling pathway by regulating key targets such as TNF and IL6, and then play an immune regulatory role.

Ferroptosis, a distinct form of cell death, is characterized by the iron-mediated oxidation of lipids and is finely controlled by multiple cellular metabolic pathways. These pathways encompass redox balance, iron regulation, mitochondrial function, as well as amino acid, lipid, and sugar metabolism. Additionally, various disease-related signaling pathways also play a role in the regulation of ferroptosis. In recent years, with the introduction of the concept of ferroptosis and the deepening of research on its mechanism, ferroptosis is closely related to various biological conditions of eye diseases, including eye organ development, aging, immunity, and cancer. This article reviews the development of the concept of ferroptosis, the mechanism of ferroptosis, and its latest research progress in ophthalmic diseases and reviews the research on ferroptosis in ocular diseases within the framework of metabolism, active oxygen biology, and iron biology. Key regulators and mechanisms of ferroptosis in ocular diseases introduce important concepts and major open questions in the field of ferroptosis and related natural compounds. It is hoped that in future research, further breakthroughs will be made in the regulation mechanism of ferroptosis and the use of ferroptosis to promote the treatment of eye diseases. At the same time, natural compounds may be the direction of new drug development for the potential treatment of ferroptosis in the future. Open up a new way for clinical ophthalmologists to research and prevent diseases.

Objective To investigate the incidence of COVID-19 in patients with tumor during the pandemic of Omicron variant strains. Methods From December 25, 2022 to January 25, 2023, through the questionnaire star platform in the form of electronic questionnaire, we collected information about COVID-19 vaccine, COVID-19 infection and clinical symptoms, and post-infection anti-tumor therapy of patients with malignant tumors (including patients who previously visited the oncology department of Peking Union Medical College Hospital and the oncology department of the local hospital where the trainee doctors of the oncology department of Peking Union Medical College Hospital are located) during the survey period (from December 9, 2022 to the time of questionnaire survey) and performed statistical analysis. Results A total of 270 questionnaires were sent out, of which 265 valid questionnaires were recovered (the effective questionnaire rate was 98.1%). Among the 265 patients with malignant tumors, 170(64.2%) patients received COVID-19 vaccine, 158(59.6%) patients were alive with tumor, and 216 patients (81.5%) were receiving antitumor therapy at the time of COVID-19 infection or during the investigation. In 210 cases (79.2%), patients were infected with COVID-19. Among them, 9 cases (4.3%) developed COVID-19 pneumonia and 3 cases (1.4%) were hospitalized due to COVID-19, and there were no severe or fatal cases. Among the infected patients, 205(97.6%) patients showed symptoms related to the COVID-19, among which fever was the most common (72.9%) symptom, and cough (64.8%) and sputum (50.5%) were the main respiratory symptoms. There were no significant differences in gender, age, tumor type, whether they had underlying diseases, whether they were vaccinated against COVID-19, and whether they were treated with anti-tumor therapy between COVID-19 infected and uninfected patients (all P > 0.05). Among the infected patients, the incidence of pneumonia in those who received ≥3 doses of vaccine was significantly lower than that in those who did not receive vaccine (1.1% vs. 9.9%, P=0.025). At the time of questionnaire survey, 88 patients started antitumor therapy after COVID-19 infection. Compared to infection before COVID-19, 12 patients(13.6%) had more serious adverse anti-tumor reactions after COVID-19 infection, 63 patients (72.7%) had similar symptoms, and 12 patients (13.6%) had milder symptoms. There was no significant correlation between the adverse reactions of anti-tumor therapy before and after infection and the timing of initiation of anti-tumor therapy after infection(P=0.938), but there was a certain correlation with anti-tumor therapy after infection(P=0.003). Conclusions During the pandemic period of Omicron variant, tumor patients were generally susceptible to COVID-19. Almost all infected patients showed related clinical symptoms, but very few patients developed pneumonia. Vaccination with≥3 doses of vaccine may be protective against pneumonia. The adverse reactions of anti-tumor therapy in most cancer patients after infection with COVID-19 were not significantly worse than those before infection.

Objective To explore the effect of curriculum teaching of Nursing Research based on BOPPPS model under the guidance of knowledge, attitude and practice (KAP). Methods Totally114 nursing undergraduates of academic year 2020 were selected as teaching objects, including 58 in the control group and 56 in the observation group. The control group adopted the traditional teaching method, while the observation group adopted the BOPPPS teaching mode guided by the concept of KAP. At the end of the course, the scientific research knowledge of the nursing students was measured by closed-book exams and evaluation of review paper writing. A survey using self-assessment questionnaire was conducted to investigate the learning effectiveness and research ability of nursing students. The participation rate in research activities and paper submission rate were compared between two groups. Results The outcomes of closed-book exams , quiz and evaluation of review paper in the observation group were higher than those in the control group (P＜0. 05). Nursing students in the observation group achieved higher outcomes in self-assessment of learning effectiveness and research ability compared with those in the control group (P＜0. 05). The participation rate in research activities and paper submission rate in the observation group were higher than those in the control group(P＜0. 05). Conclusion Under the guidance of KAP concept, BOPPPS model can improve the teaching effect of Nursing Research courses and enhance the scientific research consciousness and ability of nursing undergraduates. Recurrent aphthous ulcer (RAU) is one of the most common diseases of the oral mucosa. At present, no effective method is available for RAU treatment, especially for refractory RAU, which significantly affects patients’ oral health and quality of life. Research shows that combination with systemic diseases greatly increases the difficulty of curing refractory RAU, making conventional oral ulcer treatment harder to perform effectively. This is probably because dentists commonly only focus on handling oral ulcers but neglect to think about the etiology of oral ulcers from a holistic perspective. Thus, we summarized some conditions of refractory RAU accompanied by systemic diseases, including inflammatory bowel disease, iron deficiency anemia, diabetes mellitus, Behçet’s disease, Reiter’s syndrome, sprue syndrome, Sutton syndrome, and acquired immunodeficiency syndrome. We also outlined the treatment principles of these patients. To be specific, on the one hand, dentists should cooperate with the relevant specialists to treat the systemic diseases, while on the other hand they should take measures including topical/general use of medicine, local physical therapy, Traditional Chinese medicine treatment, and psychotherapy for RAU management. This paper aims to provide clinicians with a more comprehensive understanding of the diagnosis and treatment of refractory RAU, in order to make personalized treatment plans for patients and improve the clinical efficacy of refractory RAU.

Objective: Solve the problems of low detection efficiency and poor accuracy in existing food freshness recognition methods. Methods: Based on the food production line image acquisition system, an improved residual neural network model was proposed for food freshness recognition on the production line. The improved LRELU activation function was introduced to improve the recognition performance of the model, the batch normalization layer was introduced to improve the training efficiency of the model, and the Dropout layer was introduced to discard a certain proportion of neurons to reduce the impact of over fitting. Results: Compared with conventional food freshness recognition methods, the experimental method could accurately and efficiently achieve food freshness recognition, with an overall freshness recognition accuracy of ＞97%, average recognition time of 9.8 ms, which meet the needs of food production lines for freshness recognition. Conclusion: The detection method based on deep learning is a non-destructive, efficient, and high-precision method for recognizing the freshness of food images.

Abstract Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) technology has been increasingly applied to power line carrier communication (PLC). Discrete Fourier Transformation (DFT)‐based channel estimation algorithm is suitable for OFDM‐based PLC due to its low complexity. In view of the problem that the traditional DFT channel estimation does not consider the influence of noise inside cyclic prefix (CP), an improved DFT channel estimation based on signal‐to‐noise ratio (SNR) estimation is proposed. First, least‐square (LS) algorithm is performed and the frequency domain channel estimation is converted to the time domain through inverse DFT, and the average SNR of the system is estimated according to the pilot sequence. Second, the substitute SNR for each sample point inside CP is defined and used to filter impulse noise inside CP. Third, the average SNR is converted into the threshold of the useful signal energy inside CP, and the widespread background noise inside CP is filtered. The simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can obtain more accurate channel estimation than other DFT channel estimation algorithms because it can effectively filter out noise inside CP. In addition, compared with other similar algorithms, the proposed algorithm dose not result in a significant increase in complexity.

Objective To summarize and analyze the clinical and electrophysiological characteristics of hereditary neuropathy with liability to pressure palsies (HNPP). Methods and Results Three patients with HNPP confirmed by gene test who were admitted to Beijing Hospital from January 2014 to December 2020 were retrospectively analyzed. All 3 patients were male. Age of onset/diagnosis (duration ending up to December 2020) were 13/25, 57/57 and 20/71 years old, respectively. All of them had heterozygous deletion mutation of the PMP22 gene. All 3 patients initially presented with common peroneal nerve palsy and were able to achieve complete recovery at the early stage. Electrophysiological changes were characterized by conduction block at entrapment sites, reduction in both sensory and motor conduction velocity, and decreased amplitude of sensory nerve action potentials, prolonged distal latency, which were affected more widely than clinically involved. At the late stage, the symptoms might not fully recover after the attack. Conclusions At the early stage of HNPP, the electrophysiological abnormalities exceed the range that was clinically involved. This feature might be helpful for early diagnosis. Detection of peripheral nerve conduction blocks at entrapment sites can assist in differential diagnosis with Guillan‑ Barré syndrome (GBS), multifocal motor neuropathy (MMN), multifocal acquired demyelinating sensory and motor neuropathy (MADSAM) and Charcot‑Marie‑Tooth disease type 1A (CMT1A).

Heat stabilizers are crucial additives for enhancing the thermal stability of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) during processing. Among the various heat stabilizers available, organic tin compounds have shown remarkable effectiveness. In this study, we investigated the use of dimethyltin dineodecanoate (DMTDN), dibutyltin dineodecanoate (DBTDN), and dioctyltin dineodecanoate (DOTDN) as heat stabilizers for PVC. These compounds were combined with calcium stearate (CaSt2) and zinc stearate (ZnSt2) to improve the thermal stability of PVC materials. The results demonstrated that the thermal stabilization effects of the three tin neodecanoates, when used as standalone heat stabilizers, followed the order: DOTDN > DBTDN > DMTDN. Notably, the thermal stability and lubricity of the three-component heat stabilizer (MTN5-C4Z1, BTN5-C4Z1, and OTN5-C4Z1, respectively), which consisted of the three types of tin neodecanoate, CaSt2, and ZnSt2 in a ratio of 5:4:1, outperformed the use of tin neodecanoate alone. This study offered potential formulations to reduce the application cost of tin neodecanoate as a PVC heat stabilizer.

Abstract Background Patients are recommended not to drive for at least the first 24 h after endoscopy with propofol sedation. However, the evidence underlying these recommendations is scarce. We hypothesized that after endoscopic procedures performed under propofol sedation, the subject’s driving ability was restored in less than 24 h. Methods We prospectively enrolled thirty patients between 20 and 70 years possessing a legitimate driver’s license scheduled for endoscopy at our hospital. The sample chosen was a convenience sample. Gastroscopy or colonoscopy was performed with propofol sedation. Before and after endoscopy, the investigator drove the subjects to the laboratory to assess their driving skills using a driving simulation system, which employs 3 driving scenarios designed by professional transportation researchers. The blood propofol concentration was estimated before endoscopy, and 2 and 4 h after endoscopy. The primary outcome was the time required for subjects to recover their driving ability after propofol sedation. The secondary outcome was the blood propofol concentration before and after endoscopic procedures under propofol anesthesia. Results Thirty volunteers participated in the study and 18 of them completed all the interventions. In the low-risk S-curve scene, the mean acceleration, lane deviation, and number of deviations from the path at baseline (0.016 cm/s2, 42.50 cm, and 0.83, respectively) were significantly less than that at post-2 h (0.029 cm/s2, P = 0.001; 53.80 cm, P = 0.014; 2.06, P = 0.022). In the moderate-(overtaking) and high-risk (emergency collision avoidance) scenes, the tested parameters at baseline and post-2 h were statistically comparable. In the low-, moderate-, and high-risk scenes the tested parameters at baseline and post-4 h were statistically comparable. The total range of propofol was 120-280 mg.The mean blood concentration of propofol at post-2 h was 0.81 ± 0.40 µg/mL, and at post-4 h was below the limit of detection. Conclusion After endoscopy performed under propofol sedation, subjects’ driving abilities were completely restored at 4 h when tested on a simulator.

Coping capacity is a key aspect of driver-vehicle interaction when drivers observe and make decisions, and is of great importance for drivers. However, different drivers have different self-cognition and assess their driving abilities differently, especially for novice drivers. Based on questionnaire data, this study has investigated the coping capacities of drivers in both static environments and dynamic environments. With the ANOVA analysis method and the structural equation model (SEM), this study has verified the effects of gender and driving factors (driving years, driving frequency, driving time) on drivers' coping capacities based on drivers' self-assessment scores and mutual assessment scores. Drivers' self-assessment scores show significant effects of all factors on drivers' coping capacities, and drivers' mutual assessment scores show significant effects of all factors, excluding driving time, on drivers' coping capacities. Also, it has been found that all drivers in the driving year group have cognitive biases. It seems that first-year drivers are always overconfident with their driving skills, while drivers with a driving experience of more than three years usually score driving skills of themselves and other drivers most conservatively. With increased exposure to various traffic conditions, experienced drivers are more aware of their limitations in dealing with complex traffic situations, while novice drivers do not know their lack of capability to properly respond to any unexpected situation they could encounter.

Selecting an appropriate intensity of epidemic prevention and control measures is of vital significance to promoting the two-way dynamic coordination of epidemic prevention and control and economic development. In order to balance epidemic control and economic development and suggest scientific and reasonable traffic control measures, this paper proposes a SEIQR model considering population migration and the propagation characteristics of the exposed and the asymptomatic, based on the data of COVID-19 cases, Baidu Migration, and the tourist economy. Further, the factor traffic control intensity is included in the model. After determining the functional relationship between the control intensity and the number of tourists and the cumulative number of confirmed cases, the NSGA-II algorithm is employed to perform multi-objective optimization with consideration of the requirements for epidemic prevention and control and for economic development to get an appropriate traffic control intensity and suggest scientific traffic control measures. With Xi'an City as an example. The results show that the Pearson correlation coefficient between the predicted data of this improved model and the actual data is 0.996, the R-square in the regression analysis is 0.993, with a significance level of below 0.001, suggesting that the predicted data of the model are more accurate. With the continuous rise of traffic control intensity in different simulation scenarios, the cumulative number of cases decreases by a significant amplitude. While balancing the requirements for epidemic prevention and control and for tourist economy development, the model works out the control intensity to be 0.68, under which some traffic control measures are suggested. The model presented in this paper can be used to analyze the impacts of different traffic control intensities on epidemic transmission. The research results in this paper reveal the traffic control measures balancing the requirements for epidemic prevention and control and for economic development.

With the development of globalization, there is an increasing demand for English-Chinese translation talents in the country and society. In this paper, a text classifier based on multilayer perceptron is proposed, an MLP structure containing two layers of feedforward neural network is designed for the characteristics of English-Chinese translation corpus, the training samples are selected with text height mainly below 60 pixels, and the best sliding window of 13×13 is selected by comparison, supplemented by the smoothing method of mathematical morphology. The constructed MLP-based information-based teaching model is then applied to teaching English-Chinese translation in colleges and universities and is mainly evaluated in terms of student evaluation and teaching effectiveness. There were 28.48 percentage points more English-Chinese translation students who thought the class was more interesting than the original, while 20.56% and 20.50% more students evaluated the class as more helpful and less helpful, respectively. The average score of English-Chinese translation students increased by 15.88% compared to the original one through the comparison test between traditional and informational teaching modes. The MLP-based informatization teaching can mobilize students’ enthusiasm to participate in English-Chinese translation learning, strengthen the guidance of translation methods, and improve students’ translation levels.

Cortical spreading depression (CSD) is a pathological depolarization wave caused by the collective depolarization of neurons that propagates slowly along the cerebral cortex and can transiently inhibit brain electrical activity, which is related to a variety of paroxysmal encephalopathy. CSD and epileptiform discharge are co ⁃ occurring electrophysiological phenomena. Factors causing CSD can also induce epileptic seizure. Inhibiting the occurrence and propagation of CSD may change the seizure threshold and reduce epileptic seizure, and the two are interrelated and interact on each other. This article reviews the research progress of the correlation between epilepsy and CSD, in order to improve the clinical understanding of the correlation between them.

The results of quasi-static tensile experiments on the 20%(volume fraction) SiCp/2009Al composite show a significant dispersion of the mechanical properties such as failure strain. The effects of two uncertainties on macroscopic mechanical properties of the composite were investigated using a multiscale finite element approach. The distribution characteristics of failure strain and fracture energy, and their correlations were obtained from FE simulations of a series of mesoscale RVE models. Then combined with the macroscale model, the randomness of mechanical properties in various regions within the actual material can be characterized. The results of the quasi-static tensile simulations of the macroscale model show good agreement with the experimental results, and are also able to simulate the dispersion behavior of failure strain very well due to the introduction of material stochasticity.

Aiming at the problem that the noise information is fixed when the extended Kalman filter(EKF) algorithm estimates the state of charge(SOC) of lithium-ion battery, resulting in low estimation accuracy, an adaptive extended Kalman filter(AEKF) algorithm with automatic matching of noise information covariance is proposed. Firstly, the parameters are identified based on the dual polarization (DP)equivalent circuit model of the battery, and an accurate equivalent model is established. Then, the variation of noise covariance matrix of EKF filtering algorithm and AEKF filtering algorithm and the estimation effect of battery SOC are compared under dynamic stress test(DST) conditions. The results show that AEKF filtering algorithm has higher estimation accuracy. Finally, several groups of different SOC initial deviations are set to verify the strong robustness of AEKF filtering algorithm in estimating battery SOC.

The global energy is increasingly tight, and the global temperature is gradually rising. Energy efficiency assessment and carbon emission accounting can provide theoretical tools and practical support for the formulation of energy conservation and emission reduction strategies for the food cold chain, and is also a prerequisite for the sustainable development of the food cold chain. In this paper, the relationship and differences between energy consumption and carbon emissions in the general food cold chain are first described, and the principle, advantages and disadvantages of three energy consumption conversion standards of solar emergy value, standard coal and equivalent electricity are discussed. Besides, the possibilities of applying these three energy consumption conversion standards to energy consumption analysis and energy efficiency evaluation of food cold chain are explored. Then, for a batch of fresh agricultural products, the energy consumption of six links of the food cold chain, including the first transportation, the manufacturer, the second transportation, the distribution center, the third transportation, and the retailer, are systematically and comprehensively analyzed from the product level, and the comprehensive energy consumption level of the food cold chain are obtained. On this basis, ten energy efficiency indicators from five aspects of macro energy efficiency are proposed, including micro energy efficiency, energy economy, environmental energy efficiency and comprehensive energy efficiency, and constructs the energy efficiency evaluation index system of food cold chain. At the same time, other energy efficiency evaluation indicators and methods are also summarized. In addition, the standard of carbon emission conversion of food cold chain, namely carbon dioxide equivalent is introduce, the boundary of carbon emission accounting is determined, and the carbon emission factors of China's electricity is mainly discussed. Furthermore, the origin, principle, advantages and disadvantages of the emission factor method, the life cycle assessment method, the input-output analysis method and the hybrid life cycle assessment method, and the basic process of life cycle assessment method in the calculation of food cold chain carbon footprint are also reviewed. In order to improve the energy efficiency level of the food cold chain and reduce the carbon emissions of each link of the food cold chain, energy conservation and emission reduction methods for food cold chain are proposed from five aspects: refrigerant, distribution path, energy, phase change cool storage technology and digital twin technology. Finally, the energy efficiency assessment and carbon emission accounting of the food cold chain are briefly prospected in order to provide reference for promoting the sustainable development of China's food cold chain.

Pyroptosis is a recently identified form of programmed cell death; however, its role in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) remains unclear. Therefore, we set out to explore the prognostic potential of pyroptosis-related genes in LUAD. The pyroptosis-related risk score (PRRS) was developed by least absolute shrinkage and selection operator Cox regression and multivariate Cox regression. We found that PRRS was an independent prognostic factor for LUAD. LUAD patients in the high-PRRS group showed a significantly shorter overall survival (OS) and enriched in cell proliferation-related pathways. Then pathway enrichment analyses, mutation profile, tumor microenvironment, and drug sensitivity analysis were further studied in PRRS stratified LUAD patients. Tumor purity (TP) analyses revealed that L-PRRS LUAD patients had a lower TP, and patients in L-TP + L-PRRS subgroup had the most prolonged OS. Mutation analyses suggested that the L-PRRS LUAD patients had a lower tumor mutation burden (TMB), and patients in H-TMB + L-PRRS subgroup had the most prolonged OS. Drug sensitivity analyses showed that PRRS was significantly negatively correlated with the sensitivity of cisplatin, besarotene, etc., while it was significantly positively correlated with the sensitivity of kin001-135. Eventually, a nomogram was constructed based on PRRS and clinical characters of LUAD. Overall, the pyroptosis-related signature is helpful for prognostic prediction and in guiding treatment for LUAD patients.

Compared to pathogens Pseudomonas aeruginosa and P. putida, P. donghuensis HYS has stronger virulence towards Caenorhabditis elegans. However, the underlying mechanisms haven’t been fully understood. The heme synthesis system is essential for Pseudomonas virulence, and former studies of HemN have focused on the synthesis of heme, while the relationship between HemN and Pseudomonas virulence were barely pursued. In this study, we hypothesized that hemN2 deficiency affected 7-hydroxytropolone (7-HT) biosynthesis and redox levels, thereby reducing bacterial virulence. There are four hemN genes in P. donghuensis HYS, and we reported for the first time that deletion of hemN2 significantly reduced the virulence of HYS towards C. elegans, whereas the reduction in virulence by the other three genes was not significant. Interestingly, hemN2 deletion significantly reduced colonization of P. donghuensis HYS in the gut of C. elegans. Further studies showed that HemN2 was regulated by GacS and participated in the virulence of P. donghuensis HYS towards C. elegans by mediating the synthesis of the virulence factor 7-HT. In addition, HemN2 and GacS regulated the virulence of P. donghuensis HYS by affecting antioxidant capacity and nitrative stress. In short, the findings that HemN2 was regulated by the Gac system and that it was involved in bacterial virulence via regulating 7-HT synthesis and redox levels were reported for the first time. These insights may enlighten further understanding of HemN-based virulence in the genus Pseudomonas.

ABSTRACT About a quarter of the world’s population is infected with Mycobacterium tuberculosis, equivalent to about two billion people. With the emergence of multidrug-resistant tuberculosis, those existing anti-tuberculosis drugs no longer meet the demand for cure anymore; there is an urgent need for the development of new anti-tuberculosis drugs. Decaprenylphosphoryl-β-D-ribose 2´-epimerase (DprE1) has been proven to be a potential antimycobacterial target, and several inhibitors have entered clinical trial. Herein, we designed and synthesized a series of compounds based on the indole and benzomorpholine by using the strategy of scaffold hopping. The preferred compound B18 showed strong antimycobacterial activity in H37Rv and drug-resistant clinical isolates. In addition, compound B18 did not exhibit antimycobacterial efficacy against other species of strains. Subsequently, the target of B18 was identified as DprE1 by analyzing spontaneous compound-resistant mutation data, and a docking study was performed to illustrate the binding mode between B18 and DprE1. In general, compound B18 is compatible to current DprE1 inhibitors, even higher phosphodiesterase 6C selectivity and plasma protein binding rate, which represent a new type of effective reversible DprE1 inhibitor. IMPORTANCE Drug therapy remains the cornerstone of tuberculosis (TB) treatment, yet first-line anti-tuberculosis drugs are associated with significant adverse effects that can compromise patient outcomes. Moreover, prolonged and widespread use has led to an alarming rise in drug-resistant strains of Mycobacterium tuberculosis, including multidrug-resistant [MDR-tuberculosis (TB)] and extensively drug-resistant (XDR-TB) forms. Urgent action is needed to develop novel anti-tuberculosis agents capable of overcoming these challenges. We report that compound B18, a decaprenylphosphoryl-β-D-ribose 2´-epimerase inhibitor with a benzomorpholine backbone, exhibits potent activity against not only the non-pathogenic strain H37Ra, but also the pathogenic strain H37Rv and clinical MDR and XDR strains. Preliminary druggability studies indicate that B18 possesses high safety and acceptable pharmacokinetic properties, rendering it a promising candidate for further development as a novel anti-tuberculosis agent.

Autoimmune diseases are affected by complex pathophysiology involving multiple cell types, cytokines, antibodies and mimicking factors. Different drugs are used to improve these autoimmune responses, including nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), corticosteroids, antibodies, and small molecule drugs (DMARDs), which are prevalent clinically in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis (RA), etc. However, low cost-effectiveness, reduced efficacy, adverse effects, and patient non-response are unattractive factors driving the development of new drugs such as iguratimod. As a new disease-modifying antirheumatic drug, iguratimod has pharmacological activities such as regulating autoimmune disorders, inflammatory cytokines, regulating immune cell activation, differentiation and proliferation, improving bone metabolism, and inhibiting fibrosis. In recent years, clinical studies have found that iguratimod is effective in the treatment of RA, SLE, IGG4-RD, Sjogren ‘s syndrome, ankylosing spondylitis, interstitial lung disease, and other autoimmune diseases and rheumatic diseases. The amount of basic and clinical research on other autoimmune diseases is also increasing. Therefore, this review systematically reviews the latest relevant literature in recent years, reviews the research results in recent years, and summarizes the research progress of iguratimod in the treatment of related diseases. This review highlights the role of iguratimod in the protection of autoimmune and rheumatic bone and related immune diseases. It is believed that iguratimod’s unique mode of action and its favorable patient response compared to other DMARDs make it a suitable antirheumatic and bone protective agent in the future.

Acute myocardial infarction remains the leading cause of death in humans. Timely restoration of blood perfusion to ischemic myocardium remains the most effective strategy in the treatment of acute myocardial infarction, which can significantly reduce morbidity and mortality. However, after restoration of blood flow and reperfusion, myocardial injury will aggravate and induce apoptosis of cardiomyocytes, a process called myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury. Studies have shown that the loss and death of cardiomyocytes caused by oxidative stress, iron load, increased lipid peroxidation, inflammation and mitochondrial dysfunction, etc., are involved in myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury. In recent years, with the in-depth research on the pathology of myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury, people have gradually realized that there is a new form of cell death in the pathological process of myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury, namely ferroptosis. A number of studies have found that in the myocardial tissue of patients with acute myocardial infarction, there are pathological changes closely related to ferroptosis, such as iron metabolism disorder, lipid peroxidation, and increased reactive oxygen species free radicals. Natural plant products such as resveratrol, baicalin, cyanidin-3-O-glucoside, naringenin, and astragaloside IV can also exert therapeutic effects by correcting the imbalance of these ferroptosis-related factors and expression levels. Combining with our previous studies, this review summarizes the regulatory mechanism of natural plant products intervening ferroptosis in myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury in recent years, in order to provide reference information for the development of targeted ferroptosis inhibitor drugs for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases.

Objective: To evaluate efficacy and safety of total glucosides of paeony in the treatment of 5 types of inflammatory arthritis Methods: Databases such as Pubmed, Cochran Library, Embase were searched to collect RCTs about TGP in the treatment of inflammatory arthritis. Then, the RCTs were assessed for risk of bias and RCT data were extracted. Finally, RevMan 5.4 was used for the meta-analysis. Results: A total of 63 RCTs were finally included, involving 5293 participants and 5 types of types of inflammatory arthritis: rheumatoid arthritis (RA), ankylosing spondylitis (AS), osteoarthritis (OA), juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA), psoriatic arthritis. For AS, TGP may improve AS disease activity score (ASDAS), decrease erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR), C-reactive protein (CRP), tumor necrosis factor (TNF)- α and interleukin (IL)− 6; for RA, TGP may improve disease activity of 28 joints (DAS28), decrease ESR, CRP, rheumatoid factor (RF), TNF-α and IL-6; for psoriatic arthritis, TGP may improve psoriasis area and severity index (PASI) and decrease ESR; for OA, TGP may improve visual analogue scale (VAS) and decrease nitric oxide (NO); for JIA, TGP may increase total efficiency rate, decrease ESR, CRP and TNF-α. For safety, RCTs showed that the addition of TGP did not increase adverse events, and may even reduce adverse events. Conclusion: TGP may improve symptoms and inflammation levels in patients with inflammatory arthritis. However, due to the low quality and small number of RCTs, large-sample, multi-center clinical trials are still needed for revision or validation.

ObjectiveThe contamination of foodborne pathogens in ready-to-eat fruits and vegetables in Shanghai was analyzed to provide a scientific basis for food safety， risk assessment and related supervision.MethodsFrom June to September 2021， a total of 143 batches of 12 kinds of ready-to-eat fruits and vegetables such as lettuce， chicory， and cherry tomatoes were collected from farmers’ markets， supermarkets， and e-commerce platforms. The total number of bacterial colonies， Salmonella， Listeria monocytogenes， Staphylococcus aureus， Cronobacter spp. and Shiga toxin-producing Escherichia coli in the samples were tested according to National Food Contamination and Harmfulness Risk Monitoring Manual.ResultsAmong the 143 batches， foodborne pathogens were detected in 68 batches， with a total detection rate of 47.55% （68/143）. A total of 79 strains of foodborne pathogens were detected. The detection rate of Staphylococcus aureus was the highest （32.87%， 47/143）， followed by Cronobacter spp. （20.98%， 30/143）， Salmonella （0.70%， 1/143）， Listeria monocytogenes （0.70%， 1/143）， Shiga toxin-producing Escherichia coli （0.00%）. Furthermore， the detection rate was higher in different ready-to-eat fruits and vegetables： chicory （17.33%）， cucumber （17.14%）， cherry tomatoes （16.00%）， and honeydew melon （15.38%）， respectively. Meanwhile， the contamination rate of pathogens in ready-to-eat fruits and vegetables from farmers’ markets， supermarkets， and e-commerce platforms was relatively high.ConclusionReady-to-eat fruits and vegetables in Shanghai are contaminated by foodborne pathogens. The prevention and control of the contamination of post-harvest fruits and vegetables should be strengthened to reduce the risk of foodborne disease outbreaks.

Objective A model was built by neural network analysis to study the relationship between different degrees of vitamin B12 and folic acid deficiency and malnutrition-induced stomatitis. Methods Data from 30 healthy volunteers and 30 patients with malnutrition-induced stomatitis were collected. The distribution of lesions, the number of affected sites and clinical manifestations were recorded, and the severity was scored. The levels of vitamin B12 and folic acid in the peripheral blood of the two groups were simultaneously measured. The SPSS software was used to analyze the correlation between vitamin B12 and folic acid levels in the peripheral blood of patients with malnutrition-induced stomatitis and healthy volunteers, and the MATLAB software package was used to analyze the data via a neural network. Results The levels of vitamin B12 and folic acid significantly correlated with the grade of malnutrition-induced stomatitis. Simultaneous B12 and folic acid deficiency linearly correlated with the occurrence and severity of malnutrition-induced stomatitis. Based on this correlation, a thermogram model of malnutrition-induced stomatitis was constructed. Conclusion Malnutrition-induced stomatitis is closely related to vitamin B12 and folic acid deficiency. Their synergistic effect may promote the occurrence and development of malnutrition-induced stomatitis. The construction of the malnutrition-induced stomatitis model aids the targeted etiological treatment of patients with moderate and severe deficiency to prevent malnutrition-induced stomatitis.

Objective To investigate the effects of Tspan8 gene knockout combined with anlotinib on the proliferation, migration, invasion, and apoptosis of colon cancer SW480 cells. Methods The plasmid was constructed by CRISPR/Cas9 technique, and Tspan8 gene was knocked out in SW480 cells. The knockout effect was detected by Western blot. The IC50 of anlotinib was calculated by MTT assay. The experiment was divided into control group, anlotinib group, Tspan8 knockout group, and combined group. Cell proliferation, migration, invasion, and apoptosis were detected by cell proliferation assay, clonal formation assay, scratch assay, Transwell chamber assay, and flow cytometry. Western blot was used to detect the effect of anlotinib on Tspan8 expression in SW480 cells. Results SW480-KO-Ⅲ cells had the highest knockout efficiency in the Tspan8 knockout group. They were used in subsequent experiments. Different concentrations of anlotinib could inhibit the proliferation of SW480 cells at different times (P < 0.01) in a concentration-dependent and time-dependent manner (P < 0.01). According to IC50, 14 μmol/L was selected as the subsequent experimental concentration. Compared with those in the control group, the cell proliferation, migration, and invasion abilities in the anlotinib group, Tspan8 knockout group, and combined group were significantly decreased, and the cell apoptosis level was significantly increased (P < 0.05). The above changes in the combined group were more significant than those in the anlotinib group or Tspan8 knockout group (P < 0.05). Compared with that in the control group, the expression level of Tspan8 in SW480 cells in the anlotinib group was significantly decreased (P < 0.01). Conclusion Tspan8 gene knockout combined with anlotinib can synergistically inhibit the proliferation, migration and invasion of SW480 cells. This combination can also promote the apoptosis of these cells.

Objective To analyze the clinical, imaging and pathological features of patients with epithelial-myoepithelial carcinoma(EMC). Methods The data of a patient with primary EMC of the thymus in Peking Union Medical College Hospital was retrospectively analyzed, and the relevant literature was reviewed. Results The patient was a middle-aged male diagnosed with primary EMC of the thymus, and he was the first case currently reported at home and abroad. Even though the patient received comprehensive treatments including surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy and molecular targeted therapy, he still experienced disease progression, with a survival time of 22 months after surgery. Conclusions Primary EMC of the thymus is extremely rare and has atypical clinical manifestations. The diagnosis mainly depends on histopathological examination. Surgery is currently the major treatment and multidisciplinary treatment is very important to prolong the survival time of EMC patients.

Big data provides more data support for network security and the IoT, while also bringing more security risks. Therefore, how to ensure the security of big data, prevent network attacks, and improve the security and reliability of the IoT has become a major issue in the current field of network security and the IoT. This article aims to analyze the research results of network security and the IoT in the context of big data and explore how to ensure big data security and improve the security and reliability of the IoT from a multidimensional perspective. Therefore, this article proposes BD technology, that is, through information mining, to ensure network security from the perspective of controlling information flow. At the same time, this article also proposes an LED lightweight encryption algorithm in the IOT, which is used to achieve secure communication between ordinary nodes and gateway nodes, effectively solving the security issues of data distribution in the network, resisting virus attacks and man-in--in-the--the-middle attacks, and has higher security and efficiency. Both of these methods can effectively protect network security: one is to control data flow, and the other is to start with communication protocols. Finally, this article analyzed the adoption of network security protection measures by netizens and found that only 13% of netizens frequently take network security protection measures, while 35% of netizens never take network security protection measures. This is also one of the important reasons for the increasing number of current network security issues.

Against the dual backdrop of economic globalization and ecological environmental crisis, green finance has become a key force in driving the development of new quality productive forces. This paper first defines the concept, constituent elements, and characteristics of new quality productive forces, and then explores the promotional role of green finance in their development through theoretical analysis. The research finds that green finance can effectively promote the development of new quality productive forces by mechanisms such as providing financial support, guiding technological innovation, and optimizing industrial structure. The paper specifically outlines the pathways through which green finance can drive the development of new quality productive forces and proposes strategic recommendations on how to enhance the functions of green finance and stimulate the vitality of new quality productive forces. In this study, the regional health loss due to the air pollution of a coal-fired power plant is analyzed by using the atmospheric dispersion model. AERMOD was used to simulate the increment concentration map of point source emission, and the GIS geographic information system was used to displace the distribution of air pollution concentration and regional health loss in grid receptors. The data of the continuous automatic monitoring facilities and the source of pollution sources were analyzed. Moreover, the effects of emissions, seasons, population, and distance on the simulated concentration were evaluated. The various influencing factors of air pollution concentration were evaluated.the R2 value of the empty product prediction map in summer has a better correlation with the concentration from monitor station, between 0.38 and 0.83, and the sulphur dioxide correlation has the best R2 value of 0.83. AERMOD was used to combined with pollutant emissions, weather, and terrain data, to simulate the distribution of rising concentration values due to coal-fired power plant emissions within the research area, and the study used the simulated rising concentration values to calculate the health loss. [1] The study used health loss of 25,647,291,161 NTD/year and medical loss of 319,153,198 NTD/year.

Enterocytozoon bieneusi is one of the most important zoonotic pathogens. In this study, we present a systematic review and meta-analysis of the prevalence of human E. bieneusi infection in endemic regions and analyze the various potential risk factors. A total of 75 studies were included. Among 31,644 individuals tested, 2,291 (6.59%) were E. bieneusi-positive. The highest prevalence of E. bieneusi in the male population was 5.50%. The prevalence of E. bieneusi in different age groups was varied, with 10.97% in teenagers. The prevalence of E. bieneusi in asymptomatic patients (6.49%) is significantly lower than that in HIV-infected patients (11.49%), and in patients with diarrheal symptoms (16.45%). Rural areas had a higher rate (7.58%) than urban ones. The prevalence of E. bieneusi in humans was the highest (6.42%) at altitudes
