The relationship between the Shangdan and Erlangping suture zone (ESZ) and the initiation stretch time of the Early Paleozoic back‐arc system in the Qinling Orogen still remains unclear. This paper reports the chronological and geochemical data of the Miaogou mafic intrusion along the southern margin of the Shangdan suture. The pyroxenite in the mafic intrusion has a zircon U–Pb age of 485 ± 5 Ma (Mean Standard Weighted Deviation (MSWD) = 0.08, n = 18). It has low SiO2 (45.41–46.02 wt%), K2O (0.42–0.44 wt%), and TiO2 (0.73–0.83 wt%) contents, high MgO (13.9–15.13 wt%) contents with high Mg# (74–77). In combination with its high clinopyroxene portion, the pyroxenite represented the accumulates from the mafic magma. Some sieve rims of the clinopyroxene indicate that the primitive pyroxenite was metasomatized by subduction‐related fluids. However, their consistent trace element and rare earth element (REE) patterns suggest that the metasomatism process has insignificant effects on their geochemical features. Zircons from the pyroxenite have positive εHf(t) (+7.18 to +11.75) values, reveal a depleted source region. In combination with its high V (322–1,093 ppm) contents, low Ti/V (10–15) ratios and smooth REE patterns, we propose that the pyroxenite was derived from metasomatized depleted mantle wedge in a back‐arc basin. In considering the duration limit (<475 Ma) of the back‐arc basin along the ESZ, we argued that the ~485 Ma Miaogou pyroxenite represented the initiation back‐arc basin in the Shangdan suture, which might represent the initial rifting of the North Qinling microcontinent induced by the northward subduction of the Shangdan Ocean. Neoproterozoic igneous rocks along the northern Yangtze Block are closely related to the evolution of the Rodinia supercontinent. This paper presents zircon U–Pb dating, whole‐rock geochemistry and Sr‐Nd isotopes of the gabbro–granite association from the Micangshan area, northern Yangtze Block. Zircon LA‐ICP MS U–Pb dating indicates that the tonalite and monzogranite from the Pinghe display identical ages of 869 ± 4 Ma (MSWD = 1.3, 2σ) and 859 ± 8 Ma (MSWD = 1.9, 2σ), respectively. According to the regional geology, the gabbro may be younger. The monzogranite and tonalite display almost identical geochemical features, both of them have high Na2O/K2O ratios, with insignificant negative Eu anomalies, relatively juvenile Sr‐Nd isotopic compositions. The monzogranite has initial (87Sr/86Sr)i ratios of 0.703403 to 0.705218, and positive ɛNd(t) values of +1.23 to +2.98. The tonalite have (87Sr/86Sr)i ratios of 0.700387 to 0.706222, positive ɛNd(t) values of +1.98 to +7.79, indicating that they were derived from juvenile source. The 860 Ma monzogranite–tonalite association suggests crustal growth event in an active continental margin. The gabbro has low (La/Yb)N ratios (1.80 to 7.61) and total rare earth element contents (∑REE = 44.95 to 83.92 ppm), they have initial (87Sr/86Sr)i ratios of 0.701913 to 0.704815, positive ɛNd(t) values of +0.65 to +5.73, indicating an island‐arc affinity. In combination with the other Neoproterozoic igneous rocks along the western and northern margin of the Yangtze Block, we propose that the gabbro and granitoid association from the Micangshan area represent two stage crustal growth events in the active continental margin setting, and these results imply that the Neoproterozoic crustal growth events in the Yangtze Block may be controlled by subduction. The ability to accurately predict the energy consumption of electric vehicles (EVs) is important for alleviating the range anxiety of drivers and is a critical foundation for the spatial planning, operation and management of charging infrastructures. Based on sparse GPS observations of 68 EVs in Aichi Prefecture, Japan, an energy consumption model is proposed and verified through traditional linear regression and multilevel linear regression. In particular, the influence of the ambient temperature is considered. Based on the results, the proposed model shows good performance for energy consumption estimation. For a steeper road gradient, the parameters exhibit a greater difference between uphill energy consumption and downhill energy regeneration. The relationship between energy efficiency and ambient temperature presents an asymmetrical ‘U’ shape, with the best energy efficiency occurring at approximately 17.5 degrees centigrade. Considering the individual heterogeneity of driving behavior, a multilevel mixed-effects regression model exhibits a higher goodness of fit. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background The activation of nuclear factor-kappa B ( NF-κB) and NLRP3 inflammasome is involved in neuroinflammation, which is closely linked to Alzheimer's disease ( AD). In vivo and in vitro studies have suggested that artemisinin shows antiinflammatory effects in inflammation-related diseases. However, the impacts of artemisinin on AD have not been investigated. Aims In this study, 5-month-old APPswe/ PS1dE9 transgenic mice were treated daily with 40 mg/kg artemisinin for 30 days by intraperitoneal injection to evaluate the effects of artemisinin on AD. Results We found that artemisinin treatment (1) decreased neuritic plaque burden; (2) did not alter Aβ transport across the blood-brain barrier; (3) regulated APP processing via inhibiting β-secretase activity; (4) inhibited NF-κB activity and NALP3 inflammasome activation in APPswe/ PS1dE9 double transgenic mice. Conclusions The in vivo study clearly demonstrates that artemisinin has protective effects on AD pathology due to its effects on suppressing NF-κB activity and NALP3 inflammasome activation. Objective: To investigate the nutritional risk in children with severe pneumonia using the Screening Tool for the Assessment of Malnutrition in Paediatrics (STAMP) and the association between nutritional risk and adverse clinical outcomes., Methods: According to the STAMP score, 216 children with severe pneumonia were classified into high nutritional risk group (HR group; n=98), moderate nutritional risk group (MR group; n=65), and low nutritional risk group (LR group; n=53). Fasting blood samples were collected to measure the levels of insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1), adiponectin, leptin, non-esterified fatty acid (NEFA), albumin, transferrin, prealbumin, and retinol binding protein (RBP). The adverse clinical outcomes were recorded., Results: Compared with the MR and LR groups, the HR group had significantly lower serum levels of IGF-1, leptin, adiponectin, prealbumin, and RBP, as well as a significantly higher serum level of NEFA (P<0.05). Compared with the MR and LR groups, the HR group had a significantly higher proportion of children admitted to the intensive care unit and a significantly longer duration of mechanical ventilation (P<0.05). The HR group had a significantly longer mean hospital stay and a significantly higher incidence rate of complications compared with the LR and MR groups (P<0.05)., Conclusions: Nutritional risk screening has an important value in evaluating the clinical outcome of children with severe pneumonia, and children at a higher nutritional risk tend to have more adverse clinical outcomes.
