This study aims to adapt the Adult Interpersonal Acceptance Rejection Scale to Turkish culture and examine the validity and reliability of the Turkish version of this scale. 653 university students selected by the convenience sampling method constitute the study sample. The original factor structure of the scale was examined by confirmatory factor analysis. The results revealed that the original factor structure of the Adult Interpersonal Acceptance-Rejection Scale was confirmed in the Turkish sample. The internal consistency of the scale items was associated with the Cronbach's alpha reliability coefficient and was calculated as 0.908. In addition, Cronbach's alpha values were 0.915 for the mother acceptance sub-dimension, 0.909 for best friend acceptance sub-dimension, and 0.911 for the romantic partner acceptance sub-dimension. Correlation coefficients were calculated between the Adult Interpersonal Acceptance Rejection Scale and the Two-Dimensional Self-Esteem Scale, the Interdependent Happiness Scale, and the Life Satisfaction Scale to prove the validity of the criterion. The results showed that the sub-dimensions of the scales were significantly related. These results show that the Turkish version of the Adult Interpersonal Acceptance Rejection Scale is a valid and reliable measurement tool that can be used for research purposes to determine the levels of interpersonal acceptance and rejection of adult individuals.

In this study data of 45 patients with Hodgkin lymphoma who underwent autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplantation between July 2000 and January 2012 were evaluated retrospectively. Clinical, laboratory and demographic characteristics affecting disease free survival (DFS) and overall survival (OS) were evaluated. Relapse and mortality rates in second and fifth years were also calculated. According to our results, patients in remission status before transplantation had a longer OS (p= 0.031) and relapse after transplantation shortened OS (p= 0.016). High beta 2 microglobulin level was associated with a shorter disease free survival (p= 0.042). Four patients (8.8%) died and 14 patients (31.1%) relapsed in the second year; 7 patients (%15.5) died and 17 patients (37.7%) relapsed in the fifth year. Median survival was 39 (6-72) months. In conclusion, autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplantation can be a salvage treatment for selected Hodgkin lymphoms patients who relapsed but it is important to evaluate prognostic factors and long term outcomes in terms of relapse and mortality after transplantation. Pneumonia is an important cause of morbidity and mortality in elderly patients. Magnusiomyces should be kept in mind as a rare cause of pneumonia, because of high mortality rates (>50%). A 93-year-old male patient was admitted with cough, sputum, confusion and elevated inflamatuar markers and diagnosed with pneumonia. Magnusiomyces capitatus was detected in tracheal aspirate culture and detection of galactomannan antigen in tracheal aspirate fluid supported the diagnosis. After 10 days of intravenous Amphotericin B therapy pneumonia was improved. Although Magnusiomyces has been previously reported in the pleural fluid, we found it in tracheal aspirate culture. We recommend that clinicians should take this agent into account in cases of pneumonia due to high mortality rates. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
