The annihilation channels $\bar{\rm p}{\rm p}\to \omega\pi^0, \omega\eta, \omega\eta^\prime$ were studied with the Crystal Barrel detector at LEAR at $\bar{\rm p}$ -momenta of 600, 1200, and 1940 MeV/ $c$ . In most cases angular distributions were measured which allowed a complete $J^P$ -analysis using the helicity formalism. The contribution of all relevant initial states could be determined. The maximal contributing angular momenta are dependent on the $\bar{\rm p}$ -momentum and range up to J = 5.

We report measurements of branching ratios for production of a series of two meson final states in $$\bar p$$ p annihilations at rest in liquid hydrogen. We find: $$\begin{gathered} BR(\bar pp \to \pi ^ + \pi ^ - ) = (3.07 \pm 0.13) \cdot 10^{ - 3} \hfill \\ BR(\bar pp \to K^ + K^ - ) = (0.99 \pm 0.05) \cdot 10^{ - 3} \hfill \\ BR(\bar pp \to \pi ^0 \pi ^0 ) = (6.93 \pm 0.43) \cdot 10^{ - 4} \hfill \\ BR(\bar pp \to \pi ^0 \eta ) = (2.12 \pm 0.12) \cdot 10^{ - 4} \hfill \\ BR(\bar pp \to \pi ^0 \omega ) = (5.73 \pm 0.47) \cdot 10^{ - 3} \hfill \\ BR(\bar pp \to \pi ^0 \eta ') = (1.23 \pm 0.13) \cdot 10^{ - 4} \hfill \\ BR(\bar pp \to \eta \eta ) = (1.64 \pm 0.10) \cdot 10^{ - 4} \hfill \\ BR(\bar pp \to \eta \omega ) = (1.51 \pm 0.12) \cdot 10^{ - 2} \hfill \\ BR(\bar pp \to \eta \eta ') = (2.16 \pm 0.25) \cdot 10^{ - 4} \hfill \\ BR(\bar pp \to \omega \omega ) = (3.32 \pm 0.34) \cdot 10^{ - 2} \hfill \\ BR(\bar pp \to \omega \eta ') = (0.78 \pm 0.08) \cdot 10^{ - 2} \hfill \\ \end{gathered}$$ These are the first measurements of the channels ηη′ and ωη′ and in almost all the other channels are more precise than previous results. We also obtain, in a more precise fashion, the following ratios of branching ratios:K + K −/π+π−=0.323±0.013, π0η′/π0η=0.548±0.056, ηη′/ηη=0.31±0.15, ωη′/ωη=0.515±0.040, π0η/π0π0=0.303±0.010, ηη/π0π0=0.232±0.011 and π0ω/ηω=0.377±0.12. The measurements are made for different η and η′ decays, and we thus obtain Γη→3π 0/Γη→γγ=0.841±0.034, and $$\Gamma _{\eta ' \to \gamma \gamma } /\Gamma _{\eta ' \to \pi ^0 \pi ^0 \eta } = 0.091 \pm 0.009$$ .

We report on a measurement of the branching ratio of the rare decay omega to eta gamma relative to the well known decay omega to pi /sup 0/ gamma . The omega 's are produced in pp to eta omega and pp to pi /sup 0/ omega . Eigenstate mixing and interference effects of the omega and rho /sup 0/ are taken into account, as well as coherent interference with the background. We find evidence for the non- resonant annihilation channel B(pp to eta eta gamma )=(3.5+or-1.3)*10 /sup -5/ and limit the value of B( omega to eta gamma ) to the range of (0.7 to 5.5)*10/sup -4/ depending on the degree of coherence with the background. We have determined branching ratios for antiproton annihilations at rest on protons or neutrons in liquid deuterium which we compare to frequencies of isospin-related processes in antiproton-proton annihilations. Using the annihilation rates into pi /sup 0/ pi /sup 0 / and pi /sup -/ pi /sup 0/ where the annihilation took place on the proton or neutron, respectively, we discuss the fraction of S-wave and P-wave annihilation in liquid D/sub 2/. The frequencies for pi /sup -/ omega and rho /sup -/ pi /sup 0/, and pi /sup -/ eta and pi /sup -/ eta ' and the corresponding frequencies for pp annihilations are used to determine isoscalar and isovector contributions to the protonium wave function. We observe rho - omega interference in pp to pi /sup +/ pi /sup -/ eta and pi /sup +/ pi /sup -/ pi /sup 0/ annihilation. The annihilation rate for pd to K/sup -/K/sup 0/p confirms the dominance of the isovector contribution to NN to KK annihilations. Furthermore, we searched for narrow quasinuclear bound states close to the NN threshold, but with negative outcome. (44 refs).

We confirm the existence of the two I G ( J PC ) = 0 + (0 ++ ) resonances f 0 (1370) and f 0 (1500) reported by us in earlier analyses. The analysis presented here couples the final states π 0 π 0 π 0 , π 0 π 0 η and π 0 ηη of p p annihilation at rest. It is based on a 3 × 3 K -matrix. We find masses and widths of M = (1390±30) MeV, Γ = (380±80) MeV; and M = (1500±10) MeV, Γ = (154 ± 30) MeV, respectively. The product branching ratios for the production and decay into π 0 π 0 and ηη of the f 0 (1500) are (1.27 ± 0.33) · 10 −3 and (0.60 ± 0.17) · 10 −3 , respectively.

The reaction $e^+e^−→e^+e^−π^0π^0$ has been analyzed using 97pb$^{−1}$ of data taken with the Crystal Ball detector at the DESY $e^−e^+$ storage ring DORIS II at beam energies around 5.3 GeV. For the first time we have measured the cross section for $γγ→π^0π^0$ for π0π0 mvariant masses ranging from threshold to about 2 GeV. We measure an approximately flat cross section of about 10 nb for W=$mπ^0π^0

7 pp. (1990)., We have searched for axion and light Higgs boson production in the channel $ϒ (1S)$ → $(a^0 or h^0) + γ$, where the non-interacting axion a0 and the Higgs boson $h^0$ do not decay in the detector. We find no evidence for an axion and give an upper limit,$ Br(ϒ (1S) → a^0γ) < 4.0 × 10^{−5} (90% CL)$, for long-lived axions. Combining our limit with the previous search in J/ψ decays, we are able to rule out the axion in the standard model with first order QCD corrections. Our $ϒ (1S)$ data also rule out a Higgs boson with mass mh < 86 MeV.

- Abstract
Prominent KK¯ resonances observed in the in-flight annihilation of p¯p into K+K−π0 include f2(1270), f0(1500), f2′(1525), ϕ(1680)/ρ(1700) and a state at 1750 MeV/c2 consistent with f0(1710). The reaction cross sections σ(p¯p→X(K+K−)π0) are obtained by means of a partial wave analysis. When these are combined with known KK¯ partial widths, the resulting production rates of presumably non-nn¯ states, X=f0(1710) and f2′(1525), are found to be suppressed by an order of magnitude compared to f0(1500) and f2(1270), respectively.

The Crystal Ball detector has been used at the DORIS II storage ring at DESY to study the reaction e+e−→e+e−γ*γ*→e+e−γγ, where X is a narrow resonance with mass between 100 and 3000 MeV. Formation of π0, η, and η’ mesons is observed, and the following meson partial widths are obtained: Γπ0Γ0→γγ=7.7±0.5±0.5 eV, Γη−γγ=0.514±0.017±0.035 keV, and Γη’→γγ=4.7±0.5±0.5 keV. No other narrow resonances are observed, and upper limits are given for the product ΓX→γγBX→γγ. .AE

(1980). doi:10.1007/BF01588838, The total cross section fore+e− annihilation into hadrons for center of mass energies from 9.4 to 9.5 GeV has been measured with the nonmagnetic DESY-Heidelberg detector at DORIS. A value ofR=σhad/σµµ=3.8±0.7 for the continuum region around the Υ (9.46) resonance has been determined. The ratioΓeeΓhad/Γtot of electronic, hadronic and total widths has been reevaluated to be (1.00±0.23) keV for the Υ resonance and (0.37±0.16) keV for the Υ′. In addition, a search for directly produced pohotons from Υ decays of the type Υ→γ+gluon+gluon has been performed. The Υ decay into muon pairs has also been searched for.
