The glucose-fructose oxidoreductase/inositol dehydrogenase/rhizopine catabolism protein (Gfo/Idh/MocA) family includes a variety of oxidoreductases with a wide range of substrates that utilize NAD or NADP as redox cofactor. Human contains two members of this family, namely glucose-fructose oxidoreductase domain-containing protein 1 and 2 (GFOD1 and GFOD2). While GFOD1 exhibits low tissue specificity, it is notably expressed in the brain, potentially linked to psychiatric disorders and severe diseases. Nevertheless, the specific function, cofactor preference, and enzymatic activity of GFOD1 remain largely unknown. In this work, we find that GFOD1 does not bind to either NAD or NADP. Crystal structure analysis unveils that GFOD1 exists as a typical homodimer resembling other family members, but lacks essential residues required for cofactor binding, suggesting that it may function as a pseudoenzyme. Exploration of GFOD1-interacting partners in proteomic database identifies NF-κB inhibitor-interacting Ras-like 2 (NKIRAS2) as one potential candidate. Co-immunoprecipitation (co-IP) analysis indicates that GFOD1 interacts with both GTP- and GDP-bound forms of NKIRAS2. The predicted structural model of the GFOD1-NKIRAS2 complex is validated in cells using point mutants and shows that GFOD1 selectively recognizes the interswitch region of NKIRAS2. These findings reveal the distinct structural properties of GFOD1 and shed light on its potential functional role in cellular processes.

Objective: Colorectal cancer (CRC) is a form of malignancy that exhibits a comparatively elevated occurrence and fatality rate. Given the relatively slower progress in diagnostic and therapeutic approaches for CRC, there is a need to investigate more accurate and efficient biomarkers. Methods: Core regulatory genes were screened using the TCGA database, and the expression of neurexophilin 4 (NXPH4) and its prognostic implications were validated using tissue microarray staining. The assessment of NXPH4 functions involved a range of experiments, including cellular, organoid, and murine models. Furthermore, a regulatory network between m5C, NXPH4, and HIF1A was established through several in vitro experiments. Results: The overexpression of NXPH4 is associated with unfavorable prognoses in patients with CRC and hepatocellular carcinoma. Additionally, it facilitates the progression of malignant tumors both in laboratory settings and in living organisms of colorectal carcinoma. Our research also reveals that NXPH4 mRNA can avoid degradation through RNautophagy, relying on an m5C-dependent mechanism. Moreover, NXPH4 amplifies the HIF signaling pathway and stabilizes HIF1A by competitively binding to PHD4. Conclusions: NXPH4, regulated by m5C, promotes malignant tumor progression and regulates the HIF pathway. Consequently, targeting NXPH4 through molecular therapies could potentially serve as an efficacious therapeutic strategy for the management of CRC exhibiting elevated NXPH4 expression. Atmospheric pollution can affect human production life and physical and mental health to a great extent. In this paper, the hourly pollutant monitoring data from five state-controlled automatic atmospheric monitoring stations in Daqing City from 2017 to 2021 are collected to analyze the temporal and spatial variation patterns of CO, SO2, NO2, PM2.5, PM10, O3. And to assess the health risks of atmospheric particulate matter. The HYSPLIT model is applied to analyze air pollutants' transport pathways and the potential source areas of atmospheric particulate matter with the PSCF model. The results show that the concentrations of SO2 and NO2 are higher in the north of Daqing and the concentrations of pollutants generally show a decreasing trend with time. The hazard quotient (HQ) for atmospheric particulate matter, which is slightly above the safe range set by the EPA, is higher in winter and spring. After principal component analysis, CO, NO2, and PM10 are the main factors affecting PM2.5. In the summer, the main urban area's air pollution is mostly influenced by the southwest pollution trajectory. In other seasons, the northwest route predominantly regulates the regional transfer of contaminants. The key regions that could be the sources of atmospheric particulate matter include North China, Inner Mongolia, Mongolia, and Russia.

Labelling multiple training examples for text classification models is usually time‐consuming and complex. Data augmentation can be used to automatically expand the dataset by transforming the original data. However, it may cause semantic changes without modifying the labels, which reduces the effectiveness of the classifiers. In this paper, we propose a data‐augmentation method called the virtual word insertion technique, which generates new sentences by randomly inserting virtual words into existing sentences. Two methods are used to achieve virtual word embedding: unweighted average and weighted average. Furthermore, a new concept of weight is proposed: the class deviation factor, which demonstrates the correlation between words and classes. Based on this new concept, different weights are assigned to words of different classes. Experiments are conducted on five different classification tasks. Ablation experiments are also performed to explore the effects of random operation and number of augmented sentences for classification results. The results of these experiments show that our method improves the classification performance and outperforms two other contrasting data‐augmentation methods in automatically augmenting the dataset. Compared to raw datasets, the average accuracy improvement of our method is 3.5% for a small‐scale dataset and 1% for a large‐scale dataset. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Wireless charging has the advantages of safe charging and high efficiency. It has been applied to wireless data acquisition systems to solve the problem of power energy life and prolong the working life of the system. However, wireless data acquisition systems based on wireless charging currently use additional wireless communication modules to transmit data collected by sensors, which increases the volume and power consumption of the sensor nodes. It is undoubtedly catastrophic in data acquisition applications such as implantable medical devices and volume-restricted confined containers. Considering the hybrid transmission of energy and data in wireless charging system, the Qi standard is expanded in this paper to realize the transmission of sensor acquisition data by means of wireless charging system. Without additional wireless communication module, this method reduces the volume and power consumption of sensor nodes, simplifies the system circuit and reduces the cost.

Low-temperature sinterable and low-loss composites consisting of La2O3–B2O3–ZnO glass-ceramics and Al2O3 filler have been investigated. The phase composition of LBZ/Al2O3 composites is closely related to the sintering temperature. When the sintering temperature was 850 °C, the main phases included LaBO3 and La(BO2)3 precipitated from LBZ glass-ceramics, ZnAl2O4 and LaAl2.03(B4O10)O0.54 phases generated by interfacial reactions, and Al2O3 filler. The high content of crystalline phases in the composites indicated the low content of residual glassy phases, which was related to the low loss of the composites at high frequencies, especially at microwave frequencies. The initial sintering temperature and the temperature corresponding to the fastest shrinkage speed of LBZ/40A and LBZ/50A composites were related to the content of LBZ glass-ceramics, and all the composites could be densified at low temperatures. Optimum properties were exhibited for the composite of LBZ glass-ceramic with 50 wt% Al2O3 sintered at 900 °C with a permittivity εr = 7.3 and a dielectric loss tan δ = 1.62 × 10−3 (at 12.1 GHz). The low εr and tanδ coupled with a low sintering temperature, suggesting that the LBZ glass-ceramic/Al2O3 composites had potential to meet the requirements of LTCC substrate materials for high frequencies. In this paper, an absolute optical transfer delay measurement method based on pulse time signal, pseudo-random code phase, and microwave phase is proposed. By employing two-stage integer ambiguity resolution, not only can a measurement range of several hundred kilometers be achieved, but sub-picosecond level measurement accuracy can also be attained. A test system was built in the laboratory and experimentally verified on a fiber optic link. The experimental results verify an accuracy of ±0.1 ps in measuring an ultrahigh-accuracy optical delay line. In addition, long fiber is also tested, which proves that a measurement range of at least 100 km can be achieved. The refresh rate of the measurement results can reach 100 ms each time.

Objective: Gastric cancer (GC) is the world's third-leading cause of cancer-related mortality; the prognosis for GC patients remains poor in terms of a lack of reliable biomarkers for early diagnosis and immune therapy response prediction. Here, we aim to discover the connection between chemokine ligand 14 (CCL14) expression in the gastric tumor microenvironment (TME) and its clinical significance and investigate its correlation with immune cell infiltration., Methods: We assessed CCL14 mRNA expression and its interrelation with tumor-infiltrating immune cells (TILs) using bioinformatics analysis in gastric cancer. CCL14 protein expression, TILs, and immune checkpoints were detected by multiple immunohistochemistry analyses in gastric cancer tissue microarrays. Then, we conducted statistics analysis to determine the association between CCL14-related patient survival and immune cell infiltration ( p < 0.05)., Results: We found that the CCL14 protein was separately expressed in the carcinoma cells and TILs in stomach cancer tissues. The CCL14 protein was related to tumor differentiation and tumor depth and positively correlated with the presentation of LAG3 and PD-L1 in gastric cancer cells. In addition, the CCL14 protein in the TILs of gastric cancer tissues was related to Lauren's type cells, T cells (CD4 + and CD8 + ), and CD68 + macrophages in the TME.
