BackgroundOnline patient communities provide new channels for users to access and share medical information. In-depth study of users’ willingness to share information in online patient communities is of great significance for improving the level of information sharing among the patient community and the long-term development of communities. ObjectiveThe aim of this study was to build a model of factors affecting patients’ willingness to share medical information from the perspective of both positive and negative utilities. Specifically, we aimed to determine the influence of online information support and privacy concerns, as well as the moderating effect of disease severity and information sensitivity of different patients on their willingness to share. Objective Increasing breast meat production is one of the primary goals of the broiler industry. Over the past few decades, tremendous progress has been made in genetic selection and the identification of candidate genes for improving the breast muscle mass. However, the molecular network contributing to muscle production traits in chickens still needs to be further illuminated. Methods A total of 150 1-day-old male 817 broilers were reared in a floor litter system. At the market age of 50 d, eighteen healthy 817 broilers were slaughtered and the left pectoralis major muscle sample from each bird was collected for RNA-seq sequencing. The birds were then plucked and eviscerated and the whole breast muscle was removed and weighed. Breast muscle yield was calculated as the ratio of the breast muscle weight to the eviscerated weight. To identify the co-expression networks and hub genes contributing to breast muscle yield in chickens, we performed weighted gene co-expression network analysis (WGCNA) based on the 18 transcriptome datasets of pectoralis major muscle from eighteen 817 broilers. Results The WGCNA analysis classified all co-expressed genes in the pectoral muscle of 817 broilers into 44 modules. Among these modules, the turquoise and skyblue3 modules were found to be most significantly positively (r = 0.78, p = 1e–04) and negatively (r = −0.57, p = 0.01) associated with breast meat yield, respectively. Further analysis identified several hub genes (e.g., DLX3, SH3RF2, TPM1, CAV3, MYF6, and CFL2) that involved in muscle structure and muscle development were identified as potential regulators of breast meat production. Conclusion The present study has advanced our understanding of the molecular regulatory networks contributing to muscle growth and breast muscle production and will contribute to the molecular breeding of chickens in the future.

In the window function spectrum of the low signal-to-noise ratio photon Doppler signal after the short-time Fourier transform, the weak beat frequency cannot be obtained by extracting the maximum amplitude spectrum frequency of each window because the amplitude of the noise spectrum exceeds the weak beat frequency. In this article, the value of the beat frequency is first estimated by the Kalman filter. Then, a multiple analytical bandpass filter is constructed to refine the spectrum of the high noise signal with the value of the beat frequency estimate as the spectrum band center. This technique extracts only the beat frequencies from the narrowband refinement spectrum by removing the interference spectrum band range. We use this technique to process the photon Doppler signals from the tiny high-speed flying fragments explosion experiment. After data processing, the beat frequency value heavily affected by high-frequency noise can reduce the error by up to 64.9%. The beat frequency value of the low noise signal can be accurate to 106 Hz, equivalent to 0.775 m/s after velocity demodulation. This method fully considers the positioning and protection of the beat frequency characteristics. It makes weak beat frequencies more obvious in the refined narrowband spectrum without changing the signal amplitude. This article describes a method for extracting the weak beat frequency of the photon Doppler signal or a signal optimization algorithm for needing high-precision beat frequencies in a test environment.

Abstract Background Anemia is a common health problem in the elderly. Preoperative anemia is a risk factor for postoperative outcomes in the elderly for hip fracture. The objective of the study was to explore the relationship between preoperative moderate to severe anemia and postoperative morbidity and mortality in hip fracture patients over 80 years old. Methods We performed a retrospective cohort study exploring preoperative moderate to severe anemia and postoperative morbidity and mortality. Patients over 80 years old undergoing hip fracture surgery were included in the study. Data were collected for major adverse cardiac and cerebral events (MACCE), postoperative pulmonary complications (PPCs), in-hospital mortality, delirium, gastrointestinal complication, deep venous thrombus (DVT), acute renal failure, ICU admission, and perioperative transfusion > 2 units rate. Results A total of 912 eligible patients were included for unmatched cohort analysis, and 512 patients were included for matched cohort analysis after propensity score matching. Baseline characteristics between the normal to mild anemia and moderate to severe anemia groups were significantly different. More patients in the moderate to severe cohort had a higher ASA classification grade III and female ratio. Patients in the moderate and severe anemia cohorts had more MACCE (unadjusted: odds ratio [OR] 1.968, 96% CI 1.090–3.555, P 0.023; adjusted: OR 1.929, 95% CI 1.014–3.668, P 0.045) and PPCs (unadjusted: OR 2.616, 95% CI 1.442–4.748, P 0.001; adjusted: OR 2.352, 95% CI 1.225–4.516, P 0.010) than patients with normal or mild anemia. However, the transfusion > 2 units rate was not significantly different between the two cohorts (unadjusted: OR 0.967, 95% CI 0.737–1.270, P 0.811; adjusted: OR 0.941, 95% CI 0.693–1.278, P 0.697). The in-hospital mortality, delirium rate, gastrointestinal complication, ICU admission, and DVT were similar. However, the in-hospital mortality was much higher (3.6%, 21/591 vs 1.6%, 5/321) in the moderate to severe anemia cohort. Furthermore, after propensity score-matched analysis, MACCE and PPCs were also significantly increased in the moderate to severe anemia cohort (OR 2.196 & 3.171, 95% CI 1.0794.470 & 1.563–6.436, P 0.027 & 0.001), which were in accordance with the unadjusted and adjusted results in the unmatched cohorts. Abstract Background Novel endoscopic techniques used in the treatment of gastric lesions with local submucosal fibrosis need preclinical evaluation and training due to safety limitations. Therefore, the purpose of our study was to establish an animal model of gastric local fibrotic target lesions and assess its feasibility in the evaluation and training of endoscopic techniques. Methods In six experimental beagles, a 50% glucose solution was injected into three submucosal areas of the fundus, body, and antrum of the stomach to create gastric local fibrotic target lesions (experimental group). On post-injection day (PID) 7, the injection sites were assessed endoscopically to confirm the presence of submucosal fibrosis formation, and the dental floss clip traction assisted endoscopic submucosal dissection (DFC-ESD) procedure was performed on the gastric local fibrotic target lesions to confirm its feasibility after endoscopic observation. The normal gastric mucosa of six control beagles underwent the same procedure (control group). All the resected specimens were evaluated by histological examination. Results All 12 beagles survived without postoperative adverse events. On PID 7, 16 ulcer changes were observed at the injection sites (16/18) under the endoscope, and endoscopic ultrasonography confirmed the local submucosal fibrosis formation in all ulcer lesions. The subsequent DFC-ESD was successfully performed on the 32 gastric target lesions, and the mean submucosal dissection time in the ulcer lesions was greater than that in the normal gastric mucosa (15.3 ± 5.6 vs. 6.8 ± 0.8 min; P

Three widths of manufacturing S-ribs carbon-fiber filaments acting as turbulence promoters were implemented into the flow channel of direct contact membrane distillation (DCMD) modules to augment the permeate flux improvement in the present study. Attempts to reduce the disadvantageous temperature polarization effect were made by inserting S-ribs turbulence promoters in improving pure water productivity, in which both heat- and mass-transfer boundary layers were diminished due to creating vortices in the flow pattern and increasing turbulence intensity. The temperature polarization coefficient ttemp was studied and found to enhance device performance (less thermal resistance) under inserting various S-ribs carbon-fiber thicknesses and operating both cocurrent- and countercurrent-flow patterns. The permeate fluxes in the DCMD modules with inserted S-ribs carbon-fiber turbulence promoters were investigated theoretically by developing the mathematical modeling equations and were conducted experimentally with various design and operating parameters. The theoretical predictions and experimental results exhibited a great potential to considerably achieve permeate flux enhancement in the new design of the DCMD system. The DCMD module with inserted S-ribs carbon-fiber turbulence promoters in the flow channel could provide a relative permeate flux enhancement up to 37.77% under countercurrent-flow operations in comparisons with the module of using the empty channel. An economic consideration on both permeate flux enhancement and power consumption increment for the module with inserted S-ribs carbon-fiber filaments was also delineated.

Objective: Solve the problems of uneven heating, heat loss and high power consumption of traditional tea frying device. Methods: Using carbon based high temperature heating coating material, a surface heating source was formed at the bottom of the glass-ceramic tea frying vessel by spraying. The corresponding tea roasting device, green removing device and conveying device were innovatively designed. Based on STM32, the circuit modules of temperature detection, temperature control and display, stir frying and rubbing tea switching were designed. Results: The maximum power consumption of the whole machine was 3 kW, and the size of the whole machine was 350 mm×150 mm×280 mm. The temperature control range was 20~400 ℃, and the temperature control accuracy was ±1 ℃. The shortcomings of the traditional manual tea making process such as temperature control inaccurate and tea kneading process uncontrollable were solved. Conclusion: The machine combines the two processes of killing green tea and kneading tea, which can realize the independent action switching of "three killing and three kneading" process, and realizes the automation of green tea production process.

The convolutional neural network, as the backbone network for medical image segmentation, has shown good performance in the past years. However, its drawbacks cannot be ignored, namely, convolutional neural networks focus on local regions and are difficult to model global contextual information. For this reason, transformer, which is used for text processing, was introduced into the field of medical segmentation, and thanks to its expertise in modelling global relationships, the accuracy of medical segmentation was further improved. However, the transformer-based network structure requires a certain training set size to achieve satisfactory segmentation results, and most medical segmentation datasets are small in size. Therefore, in this paper we introduce a gated position-sensitive axial attention mechanism in the self-attention module, so that the transformer-based network structure can also be adapted to the case of small datasets. The common operation of the visual transformer introduced to visual processing when dealing with segmentation tasks is to divide the input image into equal patches of the same size and then perform visual processing on each patch, but this simple division may lead to the destruction of the structure of the original image, and there may be large unimportant regions in the divided grid, causing attention to stay on the uninteresting regions, affecting the segmentation performance. Therefore, in this paper, we add iterative sampling to update the sampling positions, so that the attention stays on the region to be segmented, reducing the interference of irrelevant regions and further improving the segmentation performance. In addition, we introduce the strip convolution module (SCM) and pyramid pooling module (PPM) to capture the global contextual information. The proposed network is evaluated on several datasets and shows some improvement in segmentation accuracy compared to networks of recent years.

Abstract Background and aims Cholecystectomy is performed for most gallbladder polyps (GPs). However, cholecystectomy results concerning complications in some patients. For benign GPs, adoption of gallbladder-preserving surgery is worth to recommend. We describe our experiences performing gallbladder-preserving polypectomy for GPs by embryonic-natural orifice transumbilical endoscopic surgery (E-NOTES) with a gastric endoscopy. Methods This is a retrospective study of patients with GPs who underwent gallbladder-preserving polypectomy by E-NOTES with a gastric endoscopy from April 2018 to September 2019 in our hospital. The operative time, intraoperative hemorrhage, intraoperative and postoperative complications, gallbladder emptying function were obtained and analyzed. Results The procedure was performed successfully in all 12 patients with 5 cases of single polyp and 7 cases of multiple polyps. The range of GPs size was 2 mm to 15 mm. The mean operation time was (95.33 ± 23.08) minutes (55–135 min). There were no adverse events including heavy bleeding, mortality and conversion to open surgery during operation. All patients were discharged in 4–5 days after surgery without postoperative complications such as delayed bleeding, fever, peritonitis, intra-abdominal abscess and abdominal wall incisional hernia. All patients were followed up at 1, 3, 6, and 12 months postoperation who had almost no visible incision on the umbilical region, no recurrent GPs. The gallbladder emptying function decreased one month after surgery, and gradually improved 3, 6 and 12 months after surgery. Conclusion E-NOTES gallbladder-preserving polypectomy is a safe and effective option for patients with GPs and is close to scar-free surgery which can be performed in routine clinical practice.

Sense of presence and extraneous cognitive load (ECL) are the two psychological effects widely employed to explain the cognitive outcomes caused by high-immersive media (e. g., virtual reality). This study identified the concepts of both technological affordance (i.e., immersion) and the psychological effects of VR learning. It investigated the mechanism by which immersion leads to better or worse communication in the context of art education. We operationalized the concept of immersion into two levels: a high-immersive VR system (HTC VIVE Cosmos) and a low-immersive tablet system (iPad). Through a between-subject experiment, we found that higher immersion not only led to a greater sense of presence but also lowered extraneous cognitive load. Enjoyment and attention increased as a sense of presence rose but were not necessarily predicted by extraneous cognitive load. This study found that sense of presence was a more robust explanatory variable than ECL and that cognitive load could be lower in a high-immersive environment with content specifically designed for VR.

ABSTRACT: Heat stress is one of the major environmental stressors challenging the global poultry industry. Identifying the genes responsible for heat tolerance is fundamentally important for direct breeding programs. To uncover the genetic basis underlying the ambient temperature adaptation of chickens, we analyzed a total of 59 whole genomes from indigenous chickens that inhabit South Asian tropical regions and temperate regions from Northern China. We applied FST and π-ratio to scan selective sweeps and identified 34 genes with a signature of positive selection in chickens from tropical regions. Several of these genes are functionally implicated in metabolism (FABP2, RAMP3, SUGCT, and TSHR) and vascular smooth muscle contractility (CAMK2), and they may be associated with adaptation to tropical regions. In particular, we found a missense mutation in thyroid-stimulating hormone receptor (41020238:G>A) that shows significant differences in allele frequency between the chicken populations of the two regions. To evaluate whether the missense mutation in TSHR could enhance the heat tolerance of chickens, we constructed segregated chicken populations and conducted heat stress experiments using homozygous mutations (AA) and wild-type (GG) chickens. We found that GG chickens exhibited significantly higher concentrations of alanine aminotransferase, lactate dehydrogenase, and creatine kinase than AA chickens under heat stress (35 ± 1°C) conditions (P < 0.05). These results suggest that TSHR (41020238:G>A) can facilitate heat tolerance and adaptation to higher ambient temperature conditions in tropical climates. Overall, our results provide potential candidate genes for molecular breeding of heat-tolerant chickens.

Despite advancements in therapeutic techniques, restoring bone tissue after damage remains a challenging task. Tissue engineering or targeted drug delivery solutions aim to meet the pressing clinical demand for treatment alternatives by creating substitute materials that imitate the structural and biological characteristics of healthy tissue. Polymers derived from natural sources typically exhibit enhanced biological compatibility and bioactivity when compared to manufactured polymers. Chitosan is a unique polysaccharide derived from chitin through deacetylation, offering biodegradability, biocompatibility, and antibacterial activity. Its cationic charge sets it apart from other polymers, making it a valuable resource for various applications. Modifications such as thiolation, alkylation, acetylation, or hydrophilic group incorporation can enhance chitosan's swelling behavior, cross-linking, adhesion, permeation, controllable drug release, enzyme inhibition, and antioxidative properties. Chitosan scaffolds possess considerable potential for utilization in several biological applications. An intriguing application is its use in the areas of drug distribution and bone tissue engineering. Due to their excellent biocompatibility and lack of toxicity, they are an optimal material for this particular usage. This article provides a comprehensive analysis of osteoporosis, including its pathophysiology, current treatment options, the utilization of natural polymers in disease management, and the potential use of chitosan scaffolds for drug delivery systems aimed at treating the condition. The use of adsorbents such as activated coke to separate pollutants from flue gas is an effective flue gas treatment method. As a cheap carbon material, semi-carbon is a potential porous alternative material to the existing commercial activated coke. In this work, the effects of the carbonization time, carbonization temperature, and binder addition on the properties of prepared adsorbents from Shanxi semi-coke were studied. The microstructure changes were investigated, and the changes in the surface functional groups in the adsorption and desorption process were explored via X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The results show that the carbonization temperature has a significant effect on the wear resistance and compressive strength index, and the carbonization time has a significant effect on the saturated desulfurization value and the breakthrough desulfurization value. In addition, under the conditions of 50% coal tar addition ratio, 700 ℃ carbonization for 20 min, and 900 ℃ activation for 60 min, the modified semi-coke parameters were as follows: abrasion resistance 95.81%, compressive strength 536.1 N·cm−1, saturated desulfurization value per g of semi-carbon is 45.71 mg, and breakthrough desulfurization value per g of semi-carbon is 23.45 mg. When the first failure occurred in the adsorbents after 10 thermal regeneration processes, the activated carbon surface was etched over a large area with severe changes in the surface morphology under the above conditions. Some large granular activated carbons were etched and pulverized into small particles. The activated carbon surface structure was also etched out of pores, which may be caused by the C consumption resulting from the interaction of C and H2SO4. The results also show that the secondary activation could increase the adsorption capacity in a short time, but the activated carbon performance degradation is also significant. The amount and composition ratio of the oxygen-containing groups on the surface of the modified semi-coke affected the adsorption performance. The ratio of oxygen to carbon groups corresponded to the adsorption performance: the higher the proportion of oxygen-containing groups, the worse the adsorption performance. The proportion of oxygen-containing groups was changed by the second activation regeneration, and C=O decreased significantly, O−C=O increased significantly, while C−O changed slightly. Although the O−C=O functional group contains oxygen, it may not significantly inhibit adsorption. This study provides a new adsorbent-preparation method for industrial flue gas treatment and also provides a reference for the research on the surface modification of semi-coke and the adsorption and desorption mechanisms of sulfur dioxide.

Objective To analyze the effect of continuous intravenous injection of different doses on dexmedetomidine on the recovery period of general anesthesia in patients undergoing thyroid surgery. Methods A total of 120 patients with thyroidectomy admitted to the First Affiliated Hospital of Army Medical University from November 2017 to November 2019 were randomly divided into a control group (60 patients) with continuous intravenous injection of 0.8 μg/kg dexmedetomidine. The observation group (60 patients) were given 0.4 μg/kg dexmedetomidine. The SBP, DBP, HR, Ramsay, VAS score, arousal index and adverse reactions were compared between the two groups at different time periods. Results The scores of SBP, DBP, HR and VAS, the incidence of nausea, vomiting, laryngospasm and choking cough in the observation group were not different from those in the control group at different time periods. The Ramsay scores of the observation group at different time periods were significantly lower than those of the control group(P＜0.05). The time of eye opening, extubation and directional force recovery in the observation group were significantly shorter than those in the control group (P＜0.05). The incidence of bradycardia in the observation group was 1.67%, which was significantly lower than that in the control group(6.68%) (P＜0.05). Conclusions 0.4 and 0.8 μg/kg dexmedetomidine can maintain hemodynamic stability in the recovery period of general anesthesia in patients undergoing thyroid surgery, but 0.8 μg/kg has more sedative effect and higher incidence of bradycardia, so it is recommended to use 0.4 μg/kg dexmedetomidine.

With a view of the deficiency irregular phenomena existing in logbook recordation among Chinese crew members, this paper analyzed the language characteristics and recording requirement of logbook, expounded how to employ accurate, concise and precise words to record logbook, listed out matters to be paid attention to in the process of recording the logbook and took examples to make an analysis, with expectation to bring advantages for Chinese crew members to improve their competency of recording the logbook.

According to English level of Chinese ocean sailors at present, we analyze the characteristics and instruction needs of navigation English and point out current English teaching in maritime specialty has many problems. Traditional teaching modes are not suitable for modern maritime needs any longer. So we propose feasible methods and countermeasures on how to improve English teaching in maritime specialty of Chinese colleges. Hopefully advanced sailors with high quality and adapting modern navigation will be brought up.

Aiming at the requirements of the maritime English correspondence, the language characteristics of the maritime English correspondence are analyzed in this article, and the factors influencing the written skills of the maritime English correspondence are discussed, and the principles of "7C" including the courtesy, the consideration, the completeness, the conciseness, the clarity, the concreteness, and the correctness should be utilized in the written of the maritime English correspondence, and the contents are listed in one complete maritime English correspondence, with their functions, that could help to enhance maritime staffs' written capacity.

Objective To investigate the utilization of outpatient and inpatient services in patients with pneumoconiosis and its influencing factors. Methods By using the convenient sampling method, 199 pneumoconiosis patients were selected from the West China Fourth Hospital, and their population characteristics, medical treatment-seeking behavior, and influencing factors were investigated by using the questionnaire on pneumoconiosis patients and its influencing factors compiled by CDC of China. Multivariate logistic regression model and multivariate poisons regression model were used to analyze the influencing factors of outpatient and inpatient service utilization. Results The two-week outpatient rate of pneumoconiosis patients surveyed was 27.6%, the median number of outpatients used in one year was twice, and the annual hospitalization rate was 61.8%. For hospitalized patients, the median number of hospitalizations per year was 1, and the median cumulative hospitalization days was 30 days. The average visual health scale (VAS) score of patients was 48.3±17.4. Multivariate logistic regression and multivariate poisons regression analysis showed that pneumoconiosis patients with basic health insurance (OR = 0.067, 95% CI: 0.006-0.716), higher frequency of medication (OR=0.100, 95% CI: 0.037-0.269), and lower VAS score (OR = 0.992, 95% CI: 0.988-0.997) had less use of outpatient services. Pneumoconiosis patients with recent exacerbation of cough (OR=5.530, 95% CI: 2.446-12.501), work injury insurance (OR=1.183, 95% CI:1.015-1.379), and lower income (OR=0.980, 95% CI: 0.965-0.997) had more use of outpatient services. Pneumoconiosis patients who were married (OR=0.063, 95% CI: 0.005-0.771) and had lower VAS scores (OR=8.463, 95% CI: 3.090-23.248) had less use of inpatient services. Pneumoconiosis patients with higher frequency of medication (OR=8.463, 95% CI: 3.090-23.248), complicated with core pulmonale (OR = 1.855, 95% CI: 1.307-2.634), pneumoconiosis compensation (OR=3.358, 95% CI: 1.183-9.529), social relief (OR=1.402, 95% CI: 1.047-1.877) and more active communication with patients (OR=2.158, 95% CI: 1.061-4.390) were likely to have more use of inpatient services. Conclusion The utilization rates of outpatients and inpatients with pneumoconiosis are higher than the national average. The health status, economic level, and social support level of patients with pneumoconiosis are important factors affecting their medical treatment behavior. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Objective To construct a deep learning model based on multi -task learning to assist clinicians in differential diagnosis and staging of pneumoconiosis. Methods The digital chest radiographs of 3 600 patients from an occupational disease hospital in Sichuan Province from 2011 to 2022 were collected, and the full convolution neural network (UNet) was used to segment the lung field. Based on multi-task learning, the multi-task model was constructed using the correlation between tasks. The multi -task model was pre -trained on the ChestX -ray14 dataset, whose backbone network was DenseNetl21, and two classifiers were added behind the backbone network. Paired t-test was used to compare the differences in accuracy, precision, sensitivity, and Fl scores between single-task model and multi-task model. Results The test set results showed that the differential diagnosis and diagnostic staging performance of the single-task model was about 90% and 77%, respectively. The differential diagnosis and diagnosis staging performance of the multi-task model was about 94% and 86%, which was higher than that of the single-task model about 4% and 9%, respectively. The difference between the evaluation indexes was statistically significant (P < 0.05). Conclusion The multi-task model has more advantages than the single-task model and can effectively realize the differential diagnosis and accurate staging of pneumoconiosis and pulmonary tuberculosis. Abstract Background High risk of embolic events exists in both patients with chronic atrial fibrillation (AF) and patients in the perioperative period of ablation (effective treatment for AF). Therefore, anticoagulant therapy is important. Oral anticoagulants can be divided into two major categories: vitamin K antagonists (VKAs) and non-vitamin K antagonist oral anticoagulants (NOACs). VKAs, represented by warfarin, have been widely used as traditional anticoagulants, whereas NOACs have been used in clinical practice, but their anticoagulant effects and side effects are still the focus of research. We used a meta-analysis to compare the incidence of left atrial thrombi (LAT) between different anticoagulants. Methods We searched PubMed, EMBASE, Web of Science, and the Cochrane Library databases for observational studies that compared the transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) findings for patients treated with NOACs and VKAs. The incidence of LAT and dense spontaneous echocardiographic contrast (dense SEC) were extracted as the basis of the meta-analysis. Results Fifteen studies were included in the meta-analysis. We found that patients anticoagulated with NOACs and VKAs had similar incidence of LAT (OR = 0.74, 95%CI: 0.55–1.00). After excluding the heterogeneous article by sensitivity analysis, we found the incidence of LAT in patients anticoagulated with NOACs is lower than VKAs (OR = 0.59, 95%CI: 0.42–0.84). The results of subgroup analysis showed that the incidence of LAT among three types of NOACs have no significant difference (dabigatran vs. rivaroxaban, OR = 1.16 [0.75, 1.81]; rivaroxaban vs. apixaban, OR = 0.97 [0.54, 1.74]; dabigatran vs. apixaban, OR = 1.09 [0.55, 2.16]). Conclusion Patients anticoagulated with NOACs may have lower incidence of LAT than VKAs. The incidence of LAT among different type of NOACs are similar.

We report a generic smartphone app for quantitative annotation of complex images. The app is simple enough to be used by children, and annotation tasks are distributed across app users, contributing to efficient annotation. We demonstrate its flexibility and speed by annotating >30,000 images, including features of rice root growth and structure, stem cell aggregate morphology, and complex worm (Caenorhabditis elegans) postures, for which we show that the speed of annotation is >130-fold faster than state-of-the-art techniques with similar accuracy.

Flexible sensors based on the highly elastic Polyurethane (PU)-containing textile substrates have been frequently incorporated in enormous wearable applications. However, the desirable sensing properties such as stable sensitivity, small hysteresis and good repeatability depend on the mechanical resilience of the textile substrates. This paper conducts a systematic investigation into the mechanical hysteresis of the PU-containing textile substrates, from fibers to yarns and then fabrics. The impact of fiber materials, yarn structures, and fabric constructions on the overall tensile properties of the PU-containing substrates were examined. It was found that fibers of high elasticity, stable yarn structure with excellent recovery, as well as appropriate fabric construction are effective to reduce the mechanical hysteresis of the textile substrates. Coated strain sensors based on different substrates were then fabricated. Results show that smaller mechanical hysteresis of the PU-containing substrates generally led to lower electromechanical hysteresis and better repeatability of sensors. This paper gives all-round consideration of the fibers and structure features of substrates to provide recommendation for reducing mechanical and electromechanical hysteresis of sensors based on PU-containing textiles and benefiting the design and optimization of other flexible sensors. Background/Aims: Interference with endothelial progenitor cell (EPC) neovascularization is a novel therapeutic target for neovascular-related diseases. Angiotensin Ⅱ (Ang Ⅱ) was found to enhance new vessel formation and aggravated neovascular-related diseases. In this study, we investigated the effects of Ang Ⅱ on EPC neovascular-related functions and explored the underlying mechanisms. Methods: EPCs were cultured from bone marrow derived mononuclear cells. The effects of Ang Ⅱ on EPC proliferation, adhesion, migration, and in vitro tube formation were investigated using the MTT assay, adhesion assay, transwell chamber assay, and in vitro tube formation assay respectively. The underlying mechanisms were explored using Western blotting assay. Results: EPC adhesion, migration and in vitro tube formation were promoted by Ang Ⅱ, and the effects were reversed by RhoA/Rho-associated kinases (ROCK) signaling pathway inhibitors including C3 exoenzyme, GGTI-286 and Y-27632. The active form of RhoA was up-regulated by Ang Ⅱ and this effect was abolished by C3 exoenzyme. Moreover, RhoA silencing resulted in a notable inhibition of EPC adhesion, migration and in vitro tube formation, suggesting that RhoA activation played a pivotal role in Ang Ⅱ angiogenic effect. The results also demonstrated that phosphorylation of p38 mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) and c-Jun-NH2 kinase was elevated by Ang Ⅱ and attenuated by C3 exoenzyme, GGTI-286 and Y-27632. The enhancing effects of Ang Ⅱ on EPC adhesion, migration and in vitro vasculogenesis were reversed by p38 inhibitor SB202190 and JNK inhibitor SP600125. Conclusion: Ang Ⅱ may enhance EPC neovascular-related functions through activating RhoA/ ROCK and MAPK signaling pathway.
