Superficial skin infections are very common in present day clinical practise. Contemporary physicians find it difficult to treat these dermatological manifestations due to long treatment duration, development of resistance and adverse drug events. Description about skin diseases are seen in Ayurveda classics like Charaka and Sushrutha under the heading of Kushta (skin diseases). Kandu (itching) is one of the primary symptoms in most of the Kshudra Kushtas. Chakradatta described a herbo mineral preparation named as Arkamanashiladi Tailam which acts as Kandughna (reduces itching) and Pamakushtahara (eradicates skin diseases). This formulation contains Arkapatra swarasa (Juice of Calotropis gigantea), Shoditha Manashila (Realgar), Nisa kalka (Paste of turmeric) and Sarshapa Tailam (Mustard oil). Preparation of Arkamanashiladi Tailam carried out according to general method of preparation of Sneha kalpana after the purification of Manashila. After considering all Pakasiddhi lakshnas like Phenodgama (appearance of froth), Shabdahina (absence of sound) etc. final product obtained which is dark brown in colour and stench smell. As there is no Analytical study reports available for Arkamanashiladi tailam to ensure its quality. Hence, in this present study different analytical parameters including Organoleptic characters, pH, Specific gravity, Refractive index, Saponification value, Iodine value, Acid value and Moisture content has been evaluated as per Ayurvedic pharmacopoeia of India. All the parameters were found to be within the reference standards and these can be used for further studies on Arkamanashiladi tailam standardization.

The electrical load has a prominent position and a very important role in the day-to-day operations of the entire power system. Due to this, many researchers proposed various models for forecasting load. However, these models are having issues with over-fitting and the capability of generalization. In this paper, by adopting state-of-the-art of deep learning, a modified deep residual network (deep-ResNet) is proposed to improve the precision of short-term load forecasting and overcome the above issues. In addition, the concept of statistical correlational analysis is used to identify the appropriate input features extraction ability and generalization capability in order to progress the accuracy of the model. Two utility (ISO-NE and IESO-Canada) datasets are considered for evaluating the proposed model performance. Finally, the prediction results obtained from the proposed model are promising as well as accurate when compared with the other existing models in the literature.

Trypanosomosis, caused by Trypanosoma evansi, is an economically significant disease of livestock. Systematic antigenic variation by the parasite has undermined prospects for the development of a protective vaccine that targets the immunodominant surface antigens, encouraging exploration of alternatives. The paraflagellar rod (PFR), constituent proteins of the flagellum, are prominent non-variable vaccine candidates for T. evansi owing to their strategic location. Two major PFR constituent proteins, PFR1 (1770bp) and PFR2 (1800bp), were expressed using Escherichia coli. Swiss albino mice were immunized with the purified recombinant TePFR1 (89KDa) and TePFR2 (88KDa) proteins, as well as with the mix of the combined proteins at equimolar concentrations, and subsequently challenged with virulent T. evansi. The PFR-specific humoral response was assessed by ELISA. Cytometric bead-based assay was used to measure the cytokine response and flow cytometry for quantification of the cytokines. The recombinant TePFR proteins induced specific humoral responses in mice, including IgG1 followed by IgG2a and IgG2b. A balanced cytokine response induced by rTePFR 1 and 2 protein vaccination associated with extended survival and improved control of parasitemia following lethal challenge. The observation confirms the immunoprophylactic potential of the covert antigens of T. evansi.

There is a positive attitude towards the use of different strategies for engaging in demand response (DR) programs in energy markets through the innovation and trend of smart grid technologies. In this paper, a reward-based approach is proposed that enhances the involvement of customers in the DR program by assuring the customer’s comfort level. Most of the previous works considered limited controllable loads like thermal loads for demand side management (DSM). In this approach thermal and all active electrical loads are considered for the analysis. Comfort indicator is used for the analysis which is an important parameter for measuring comfort of each resident. This technique significantly reduces the utility reward cost and maximizes the user satisfaction level compared with existing approach. The numerical example considered in this work illustrates the fruitfulness of the proposed approach. This problem is formulated as mixed-integer linear programming (MILP) and solved by using CPLEX solver in General Algebraic Modelling Software (GAMS).

BACKGROUND: INTRODUCTION: Diabetes mellitus and its complications are in an increasing trend and it is important to look for parameters which can detect early and delay the onset of disease as well as complications. Serum magnesium levels can be taken as one such indicator. AIM The aim of the study is to: 1) Estimate the level of serum magnesium levels in type 2 diabetic patients and controls. 2) Determination of the correlation between the level of serum magnesium in diabetics and nondiabetics. MATERIALS & METHOD: In this study, we have chosen a total of 100 subjects with 50 of them as nondiabetic controls and the rest 50 being diabetics taken as test group. We took fasting samples in all subjects and performed all the routine test parameters. In addition, we assayed the magnesium levels in all subjects. RESULTS & STATISTICS: The mean magnesium level for both groups were 2.6+/-0.37 and 1.1+/-0.38 in the nondiabetic control group and diabetic test group respectively (This is statistically significant and a student t test showed a t value of 7.589-E13 which corresponds to a p value

Haemonchus contortus is a highly pathogenic and most economically important parasite of sheep and goats worldwide. The cysteine proteases from H. contortus are prime targets for vaccine development. In the present communication we report the molecular expression and characterization of cathepsin B-like cysteine protease, GCP7 gene of H. contortus to study its efficiency as target protein for immunoprophylaxis against haemonchosis in sheep and goats. The complete ORF of GCP7 gene, devoid of the signal sequence, was amplified by RT-PCR from mRNA isolated from H. contortus and was cloned initially into pTZ57R/T cloning vector and then sub-cloned in the pET32a(+) expression vector to produce GCP7 antigen. The nucleotide and deduced amino acid sequence of the GCP7 was aligned against the related sequences of H. contortus available in public domain for in silico analysis by DNA STAR and MEGA version 4.0 softwares. The nucleotide sequence revealed that the GCP7 gene of H.contortus (Indian isolate) encodes 324 amino acids (devoid of signal sequence) and its nucleotide sequence had 95.9% to 99.4% sequence homology with that of U.S.A. and previously published Indian isolates. A high level expression of recombinant (r) GCP7 protein was observed in the molecular range (Mr) of 55 kDa. The rGCP7 protein was confirmed by its specific immunoreactivity against known reference positive sheep sera.
